tell me all about the ocean
Summary:
oc-tober 2024! a collection of drabbles for my middle-earth ocs who mostly are related to the greater est-verse
Notes:
[title: 'oceans' by puscifer. the full line is 'spoils and troubles and burdens you've borne- leave them behind they matter no more. leave them behind and tell me all about the ocean']
most of these are specifically my lotro guys or their peripheral ocs, but there's one or two in here that are tangentially lotro at best lol. other than that, every chapter is a different oc, because i've accumulated a truly absurd number of them at this point. other self-imposed rule is making this a drabble set- 100 words each for my own sanity
using this list of prompts this year!
Notes:
off to a strong start with ravea, spirit of the gelion river in ossiriand (or. she was, when there was still an ossiriand). initially from one of my trsb projects- the wanderer's guide, or, 'i'm gonna talk about both rivermaids and the nameless for a lot of words' <3
she would be known to linhalwen, who's part of silear's crew at the end of the first age
Chapter Text
It’s been centuries, as they count them since the rising of the Sun, since she was last moved to leave. She isn’t restless as she once was, back before she found the waters that sang in harmony with her heart, but her river and the river that is her has been cracked open with the rest of the land. She and her kin-like neighbors must now make the voyage to new anchor-waters or else return whence they came.
“We should be glad to have survived the war at all,” says Dín, gazing northward.
“Perhaps,” Rávëa answers. She thinks she’s glad.
