After months of watching their husband sulk and not be the same as before, a group of concerned wives stage an intervention. Liu Mingyan and Ning Yingying lead this being the first to walk into the emperor’s chambers they call out "Husband" and his gaze falls upon them, the hatred behind his soulful eyes Yingying's heart breaks she runs to his side. "A-Lou what has happened? Please tell us!" she says cupping his face as her eyes well up with tears.
For just a moment he was brought back to the other world when his face was held the same way by his enemy's hands, the love that radiated from him that day… he had never felt before not even among his wives, sure they loved him but more as a family member rather than a partner. Luo Binghe has a sick smile, if he couldn’t have him, he would just get a Shizun for himself from another universe.
Shen Yuan finished his third blood transfusion in the week he had refused many times the request that he stay at the hospital and opted for having his own space nearby. He couldn't walk anymore and even moving was getting harder so he was just wheeled back and forth most days. His cancer was worsening by the day. His mother who abandoned her work and dedicated herself and spending her money on finding a cure or treatment that would slow it down, was torn apart at the thought of losing her only son.
His father however taking charge of the company had already begun to mourn him as if passed and wouldn't even talk to him, he was an only child and sole heir to a multibillion-dollar empire but was cursed with a genetic illness that made life impossible. Arriving at his home he watered the plants on his window sill and then went to bed too winded to do anything else but read.
After a while, his mother came by as she does every day always with a new treatment for him to try, but today was different. She walked in looking defeated for the first time in a while, "I just wished you could've lived a nice long healthy life" she began "Yuan… an alpha has asked for your hand in marriage and your father has already agreed" she sobbed. "Is this what you want, baby? I won't make you do it if you tell me you don't want to". He could not have children in this state and the alpha was probably from another wealthy family looking to form an alliance with his own.
