You never have to hide from me

Summary:

Being spotted by Marines, Ace hides, only to be found by the one he never has to hide from

Notes:

Written for OP Kisstober, prompt being marines.

Work Text:

Ace ran to hide behind the corner of a building, the sudden arrival of a whole squad of marines hadn’t been something he expected to happen. Especially as he was alone now, without any back-up close by. He was certain that if they had seen him, so it was a waiting game to see if they would persuit him or not.

Cursing as he tried to appear as small as possible, he didn’t want to hide right now. But getting caught here would be something none of his crew would let him live down. For once he wanted to hide the hat he got from Luffy, for no other reason then to spot being so noticable.

“Come on, move along. Nothing to see here.”

Pressing his lips together when he hears one set of foodsteps getting closer, trying to shrink back and hope that they don’t see him. He needs to get out of here, but of course he chose the one alley that becomes a dead end.

The footsteps stop not far from where he’s hiding, “You’ve gotten worse at this, Ace.”

It’s the voice alone that has him popping up, “Birdy!”

There she is standing, red hair a little longer than he remembered, her marine uniform as pristeline as it was before. Her shorts leaving her legs to look like they went on for ages, a soft smile on her face as she looked at him.

“It’s been a while, Ace.”

Isuka being there, and being the one to catch him made Ace think about the times prior to getting to the New World. When this girl would be chasing after him each and every time. How long had he wished he’d see her again. How long had it been since they had a moment alone, despite being on two sepperate sides of the law.

He’s moving before he knows what he’s doing, his arms wrapping around Isuka’s waist as he pulled her close. Ducking down to press his lips onto hers, moaning softly as the feel of her soft lips onto his own.

Blinking as Isuka pushes him back, Ace blushed as he looked at her, “I missed you.”

She smiles softly, “I can see that.”

Before anything else, she warps her arms around his neck, before pulling him down and kissing him again. The urgency in her movements alone telling him that Isuka had missed him just as much. As long as it was her that ‘caught’ him, he didn’t mind. He could stand here all day if it meant some more kisses of his favourite marine.
