Gold.
I was blinded by gold.
Images of her golden hair swaying as she moved with determination in battle, summoning monster after monster, dance before my eyes.
"Are you listening?" Lueburry's voice, accompanied by a slap on my shoulder, pulls me out of my daydream.
"Yeah," I reply, struggling to focus on the conversation. "I am."
Lueburry frowns, watching me with concern.
"You’ve been acting strange ever since you returned from the last battle. Your voice is back, but your attention seems to have been lost in the rift. Is this some new side effect?"
"Maybe," I murmur uncertainly as I get to my feet. "Or maybe it's just exhaustion. I think I’ll head home… try to get some sleep."
He narrows his eyes at me, scrutinizing; as if seeing something beyond me, invisible to my own eyes. Finally, with a look that suggests he’s come to some coherent conclusion, he gestures for me to leave.
"Don’t forget the power crystals!" Lueburry shouts as I head for the door. "I think there’s still room to improve that sword..."
I sigh in frustration.
What difference does it make?
Since the princess and I eradicated Null and recovered the Triforce, no new rifts have appeared. At least, none that I’ve sensed. There are still a few monsters scattered across the kingdom, but nothing beyond the ordinary. Honestly, a well-thrown rock is enough to take care of most of them.
So, it feels like a huge waste of time to continue the hunt for more power crystals. Lueburry, however, seems to be obsessed with the project.
And, well, since the threats have been contained, I’ve had a lot of free time.
Then I shrug and nod before heading out.
I’m greeted by the sunlight, which blinds me momentarily. Startled, I hear a voice behind me:
"Look who it is! Link! I told you we’d find him here."
I blink, dazed, and turn toward the sound. A small woman approaches me, smiling brightly. She takes my hand, greeting me with enthusiasm.
"It’s so good to see you again, Link," my vision clears slowly, and I recognize Impa, Lueburry’s sister and royal advisor.
My throat goes dry when I notice that just behind her stands Princess Zelda, watching me with an amused expression.
"We were looking for you in the village a little while ago. Well, the princess was; she needs to discuss some business with you. And I was wanting to visit my brother anyway..."
"Good afternoon, Link," the princess says, nodding at me.
"Your Majesty," I bow slightly, my voice faltering a little. She laughs softly. At what, I have no idea.
"Well, I’ll be around if you need me, Zelda. Not that you need any kind of protection," Impa teases, unable to hide her pride in Zelda’s role in the battle against Null. "I think it’s more likely we’ll need your help, right?" she walks off, talking and laughing to herself, disappearing into the house.
The princess gazes at me for a few moments, as if waiting for something.
"Thank y—" I begin.
"I should be th—" she says at the same time.
We both fall silent again. I, embarrassed for interrupting her; she, smiling, waiting for me to speak.
"Thank you," I try again. "For saving me. In the middle of all the chaos, I didn’t have the chance to properly... thank you. I wouldn’t have made it out of that mess on my own. So, yeah… thank you."
"Well, you saved me first," she points out, her eyes locked on mine. "From Ganon’s echo. I believe I should be thanking you as well, to begin with."
"I was just doing my duty, Your Majesty," I say, averting my gaze, unsettled by the intensity of her stare.
Her smile widens, and she continues to watch me in silence.
"Lady Impa mentioned something about ‘business’?" I ask, unable to suppress my curiosity.
"Oh yes, about that. Is there somewhere private we could talk?"
"Well..." I pause for a moment, thinking. "There’s my house in the village, if Your Majesty doesn’t mind," I offer at last.
"Perfect," the princess replies, satisfied, and starts the short walk toward Suthorn Village.
The late afternoon sun shines on her golden hair, casting a reddish hue and making it gleam like gold. It’s tied up in a high, full ponytail that sways from side to side as she walks a few steps ahead of me.
"Has your voice fully returned?" She breaks the silence.
I nod, caught off guard by the sudden change of subject.
"Yes," I answer. "The same day we defeated Null. But… it’s still strange to speak after so many years of being unable to. I end up staying silent most of the time, just out of habit," I shrug.
By Hylia, did I really need to share that much?
But the princess simply nods, watching me with interest.
"Tri hasn’t returned?" I try to keep the conversation going, eager to hear more of her voice.
"Not yet… and I don’t think she will," her voice carries a hint of bitterness. "It’s a shame... she was a great companion on this journey. And that rod was really fun, I won’t deny it," she laughs, quickly recomposing herself.
"It definitely looked like you were having too much fun in that battle, summoning hordes of monsters and setting Null on fire," I blurt out, regretting it the second it leaves my lips. "Forgive me, Your Majesty. That was inappropriate."
But the princess stops walking, laughing uncontrollably.
"No, no," she tries to respond, gasping between fits of laughter. "You’re absolutely right. I really did get a little carried away with all that power. Maybe it’s for the best that the rod no longer works… It was getting a bit too satisfying to set everything on fire."
A laugh escapes my lips.
"It was a little terrifying," I admit. "And confusing. I usually fight against the monsters."
"Stealing their souls and making them work for you is much more efficient," she counters, unfazed.
"Can’t argue with that..." I trail off, shrugging.
The princess waves to the villagers as we pass, even exchanging pleasantries with a few of them.
We walk to my house on the northwest side of the village. I open the door and hold it for her as she steps inside.
The fireplace is lit, and I move over to it, placing a kettle over the flames.
"Just a second," I say, embarrassed.
I don’t have a table here to share tea while we talk, so I pull a barrel from the corner of the room and set my two large vases upside down to serve as makeshift chairs.
The princess doesn’t seem bothered and sits on one of them. I pour the boiling water into two cups with herbs in infusers, and hand one to her.
"How old are you, Link?" she asks, watching me closely.
"Twenty-one, Your Majesty."
"Right. You never received formal combat training?"
"No, ma'am."
She nods.
"Lueburry told me your story. How, after escaping one of the rifts as a child, you gained the ability to sense when new ones would appear — though you lost your voice in the process. And how you used that ability to protect the lands here."
I shrug, unsure of what to say about it. Once I had that power, it seemed like an obvious choice to use it for the benefit of the villagers. To prevent more children from suffering the same fate I did.
"It was very brave of you," the princess continues. "Your courage would be appreciated in the royal army, Link."
"Excuse me?" I freeze, shocked.
"Oh, come now, it’s not that surprising," she laughs. "If it weren’t for your help, we probably wouldn’t have been able to defeat Null."
I recall the countless monsters she summoned tirelessly, replacing those that fell without a moment's pause, and I find myself disagreeing with her statement.
Yes, I may have helped.
But she would’ve managed just fine on her own.
Still… the idea of something different from life in the village intrigues me.
And so does the possibility of seeing more of the princess... which catches me off guard.
"So, what do you think?" she asks, her sharp gaze fixed on me.
My heart skips a beat, and I find myself trapped in her eyes, unable to answer.
"You really don’t talk much, do you?" she laughs.
"Sorry," I clear my throat.
"Would you like some time to think about it?" She tilts her head slightly, never breaking eye contact.
"No, no! It would be an honor. I accept, of course... I mean. Thank you," I reply, flustered and incoherent.
I stare at my tea, avoiding her eyes, which make my blood rush in all the wrong directions.
"You're not obligated to accept the invitation, Link," she reiterates, concerned.
"I know," I look up again, trying to justify myself. "I’m really happy for the opportunity."
"Then what’s bothering you?"
"I’m just... confused," I admit, taking a sip of my tea to buy time and reorganize my thoughts. Which proves to be a challenge, because a breeze slips through the slightly open window, carrying her floral and sweet scent to me.
"Confused about what?" her lips curl into a curious smile.
I swallow hard, trying to string together my next sentences.
"Protocol?" I ask. "Wouldn’t it be more customary for me to have received some kind of formal summons to the castle, a letter... or a royal messenger? Not that I’m unhappy to see you, Your Majesty," I add, desperate. "I just... got confused. Do you visit all potential soldiers at home to recruit them?"
Zelda bursts into laughter, her head falling back in amusement. I can’t figure out what’s so funny about what I said, but I’m relieved not to have offended her.
"Call me Zelda, Link. We saved the kingdom together, there’s no need for formality," she begins, regaining her composure, wiping away the tears that formed from laughing so hard. "And you’re right, this isn’t the traditional protocol."
My heart stops for a second when I feel Zelda place her hand on mine, resting on the barrel between us.
Forget what I said.
Now I’m confused.
"Since the adventure, I’ve developed a fondness for wandering around the kingdom. I take any excuse I can to leave the castle," she explains, shrugging. But her thumb strokes the back of my hand, distracting me with the energy that seems to build there and travel up my arm, sending shivers through me. "And, well... I needed to see you again, Link."
Wait, what?
Images of the dreams that have been haunting me for weeks, stealing my sleep, dare to surface in my mind; but I can’t think about that now. So I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts.
I’ve definitely misunderstood.
But her thumb continues to caress my hand, and my heart refuses to calm down, leaving me slightly dizzy.
"Pardon?" I try to say, my mouth suddenly dry. I take another sip of tea, which is now getting cold.
Zelda pulls her makeshift chair closer to mine, her knee brushing against my leg. She leans in toward me, her face far too close to mine.
I can feel my heart pounding in my throat; I turn my head in panic and, through the window, watch as the sky darkens with the approaching night.
Instinct wrestles with insecurity, and I have no idea how I’m supposed to act in a situation like this.
"I needed to see you again," she whispers; but her lips are so close to my ear that I can clearly make out every word. "Every night, you invade my dreams. And every day, I wake up disappointed that I wasn’t really in your arms."
Would she arrest me if I kissed her now?
And where did that thought even come from?
I turn my head, trying to get a better look at her as I respond. But her face is just inches away, and our noses bump lightly; any words I had meant to say get stuck in my throat.
Then, she continues.
"In my dreams, I feel your lips trailing over my skin," the princess whispers, her gaze locked on mine as she speaks her desires without a hint of shame. "Your hands gripping me tightly as you pull me closer. Your sweaty body against mine as you take me…"
Instinct takes over before I even begin to understand what’s happening. Her lips meet mine, and I think I’m the one who initiated the kiss.
Not that it matters.
She bites my lower lip, then licks it slowly. I slide my tongue into her mouth, desperate to taste her, a sweetness lingering from the tea. Her fingers tangle in my hair, pulling hard, while her other hand creeps up my thigh, dangerously close to my groin.
A wave of insecurity hits me like a cold bucket of water. My hand on Zelda’s waist — wait, when did I put it there? — pushes her back slightly.
She looks at me, confused.
"Do you want to stop?" she whispers against my lips.
I shake my head.
"What’s wrong, Link?" Zelda’s eyes search mine with concern.
"I... don’t have much experience with this," I admit, embarrassed. "Actually, none. I’m not sure I can live up to all of these dreams you’ve been having," I laugh nervously.
Zelda frowns, surprised.
"You expect me to believe you’ve never been with anyone?" she laughs, incredulous.
"Why would I lie?"
"Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror?"
I shrug, unsure of what she’s implying.
"I spent years focused on sensing and fighting the rifts that appeared," I explain. "It was... exhausting. Always being on high alert... they didn’t exactly show up during ‘business hours,’ you know?" I joke. "I didn’t have much energy left for... ‘romance.’"
Zelda shakes her head, her expression a mix of understanding, amusement, and disbelief.
"I’ll teach you," she says, finally. "If you want, of course."
"You’ve already…?" I trail off, curious but unsure how to finish the question.
"Of course," she laughs. "I started when I was a couple years younger than you."
"And now you’re...?" I begin to ask, but stop myself. "Sorry, that’s rude."
"Twenty-five," she says with a casual shrug, unbothered.
Her hand remains on my thigh, her fingers moving slowly as she waits for me to decide.
I nod slowly, leaning in to kiss her again. Zelda takes her hands to the hem of my tunic, raising it. I pull back to help her remove that piece of clothing, and shiver as I feel the cold breeze that enters through the window against my hot skin.
Her hands land on my torso, and she travels them slowly through the sides of my body, then up my abs. Zelda studies me carefully, biting her lower lip, her eyes dripping lust. She nods to herself, clearly satisfied; my face grows warm under her gaze.
Zelda attacks my neck, her hot lips against my skin, her teeth scratching me slightly. Her tongue trails my collarbone, her hand gripping my thigh.
"That vase will break," she declares, her mouth against my chest. "Sit on the barrel."
"It's a tough vase," I retort, incoherent.
"Link," she raises her gaze, trapping me in her eyes again. "Sit on the barrel."
Something in her tone stops me from arguing. Her voice is gentle, but it sounds like a command.
And, honestly, at this point, I would do anything she asked.
Without thinking clearly, I sweep my arm over the barrel, knocking the cups to the floor. They shatter with a loud crash.
"I’ll get you new ones," Zelda laughs.
"I never liked tea much anyway," I shrug, sitting on the barrel.
Zelda stands, but even so, I have to lean down to kiss her again. She doesn't seem to mind, her hands playing with the waistband of my pants. Her fingers find the ties and loosen them, allowing her to slip her hand beneath the fabric.
"Ah," I can't avoid the groan as I feel her fist closing around my erection.
She moves her hand with confidence, the pressure just perfect. My head tilts back when her thumb presses harder against the frenulum, moving in circles.
Her mouth resumes licking my neck, and I brace myself precariously with my hands on the edge of the barrel.
It hasn't been that long since I last relieved myself — the dreams with Zelda made it a recurrent necessity. And yet, she moves her wrist with such precision and stares at me with eyes so heavy that I know I won't last much more than a few minutes.
"Zelda," I moan her name in panic, unable to open my eyes. "Zelda, I'm going to— ah— you'll get dirty."
I feel her lips twist in a smile against my neck.
Her head disappears and I open my eyes, confused, searching for her. Just to feel, on the next second, her soft lips enveloping the tip of my erection, sucking lightly.
I think she was planning to extend the moment. But the sensation of her tongue there, her teeth grasping the skin softly, her hand still moving on my extension... is too much.
"Zeld—" I try to warn her, desperate, but there is no time.
My balls jerk as the pleasure spreads through my body, uncontrollably, and I overflow in her mouth. I can feel her smirk, as if she was waiting for that. Zelda does not decrease the intensity of her sucking, swallowing all of it. Then, she licks the tip, cleaning whatever remained there; she places a gentle kiss on my groin before standing up.
Her lips are red and swollen, her cheeks flushed. I lean to kiss her, pulling her close. My taste lingers on her tongue, slightly salty and sour.
I hop off the barrel with a small jump, leaving my pants behind on the floor. With Zelda in my arms, I carry her to my bed, despairing to hear her sounds of pleasure.
Laying beside her, my lips do not leave hers for a second. My hands go to her legs, pulling her skirt up. My fingers trail her soft skin, going up her shin, knees, thighs, until...
Wait a minute.
"Are you not wearing any undergarments?" I ask, dazed.
Zelda nod with a mischievous smile.
"Did you take it off a while ago, or...?" My heart feels like it's going to leap out of my chest.
"I don't usually wear it, anyway," she shrugs. "Keep going," she commands, moving her hips.
My fingers find her wet flesh and she sighs, satisfied, grinding against them.
"How do I do it?" I ask, feeling insecure.
"Here," she sits, pulling her skirt all the way up and spreading her legs, exposing herself to me.
Zelda takes my hand, guiding it on her folds.
"It's very sensible here," she says, her breath ragged. "But this," she takes my fingers to a small nerve, rigid and swollen; her eyes flutter and she moans softly. "Yes... there. That's the clit," she continues the lesson, panting. "That's the most sensible spot of all. And there..." She guides my fingers down, taking them to the hole down below. "That's where you enter."
My shaft starts to get hard again, understanding what’s happening.
"Palm up," she instructs. "Insert two fingers... yes," she moans as I push my fingers inside her; I feel as she contracts around them. "Can you notice a rugged area?"
I nod, fascinated.
"You can stimulate that region hard... don't worry about being gentle," she shuts her eyes, letting go of my hand. "And keep touching the outer region."
She falls silent, laying again, giving me room to explore her.
I bring my face closer to her flesh, completely torn between curiosity and desire. My fingers are still buried inside her, hitting that region rudely.
Remembering how it felt to have her lips around my cock, I close mine on her clit, sucking slightly; and I am rewarded immediately by her loud moan, her hand entwining in my hair.
"Ah, yes, Link," she rubs herself against my face. "Don't stop."
I circle my tongue around the small nerve, licking her folds, drowning in her arousal.
Looking down, I see that my erection is already complete again. I observe its size, and compare it to the grip I already feel from her around two of my fingers.
I frown, confused.
It won't fit.
Will it?
Deciding to test my theory, I add one more finger inside her.
"AH," she moans louder, rolling her hips on my hand. Her flesh stretches, receiving the invasion without any problems.
"Zelda," I try to get her attention.
"What?" she pants, her eyes still shut.
"I want to see you naked," I ask, fighting against the shyness.
"Not yet," she sounds outraged. "But if you keep fucking me like that, so good... I may let you."
Nodding, I refocus on the mission ahead.
I nibble on her clit lightly, eliciting a small gasp from Zelda. Growing more confident, I suck harder, syncing with my fingers thrusts inside her.
"Yes... exactly like that," she moans, her back gently arched.
The grasp around my fingers gets stronger, making it hard to keep the rhythm. I move my arm with more force, trying to compensate. My sucking grows harder, intercalated with the scrape of my teeth against her clit.
"Ah— yes, Link— ah— I'll—" Zelda tries to speak, but her uneven breath prevents her from forming the sentence.
The fingers that were on my hair close hard, pulling the strands rudely. Zelda arches her back all of a sudden, in the midst of a loud moan that nears a scream. Her thighs tremble, her whole body contorted in spasms. And her pussy pulsates around my fingers, squeezing and releasing at an inconceivable speed.
And then her body relaxes all at once, collapsing onto the mattress.
"Very good," she praises, as her hands travel through my hair.
I blush at the compliment.
"You...?" I ask, shyly.
She nods, smiling. Then she opens her eyes, looking at me with amusement.
"Now I need to fulfill my side of the promise, don’t I?" she laughs.
For a split second, I’m confused.
What promise?
But, without losing a second, she pulls her dress up, removing it and getting completely naked.
I freeze, completely unable to react.
She's perfect. My hands hurt with the desire to travel on her curves. Dozens of small freckles paint her shoulders, and a small mole just up her right nipple begs to be licked.
And that’s exactly what I do, unable to control myself.
Zelda gasps, surprised, moaning softly.
As my confidence grows, I decide to fully surrender to instinct. I lick and suck her breasts, wander my hands through her body, pin her wrists up her head, trapping her arms.
I bury my fingers inside her once again, at the same time that I push my tongue inside her mouth. Zelda rolls her hips against my hand and moans against my lips, driving me insane.
"Lay on the mattress," she commands. "Now."
I comply without argument, and she swings a leg over my hips, sitting on top of my erection — without entering, yet. She grinds there, leaving it completely soaked with her arousal.
Zelda plays with her own breasts; her clit rubs against the tip of my shaft, tearing moans from both of us. I close my hands on her ass, delighting myself with her soft skin.
She raises a bit, and I hold my erection in position so that Zelda can go down on it.
If her lips were enough for me to go insane, I have no words to describe the sensations that overtake me as her hot pussy envelops and crushes me.
"By Hylia, your dick feels so good, Link," Zelda bites her lips, her eyes closed as she moves her hips up and down slowly, rolling them slightly.
She tightens around me, opening her eyes and looking at me with a mischievous glint, as if she’s doing it on purpose. Her hips move tirelessly, the grip so intense that it makes me feel as if I'm going to explode any second now.
"Do you like it that way?" She smiles playfully.
I nod, unable to speak.
"Or like that?" She squeezes me on a rhythm, while moving her hips up and down.
She is definitely doing it on purpose.
And I'm definitely unable to retort, the moans on my throat silencing any words that might be in the way.
I move my hip upwards with force as she goes down, meeting her halfway; Zelda yells, taken by surprise.
Pushing my body against hers, I roll over her, going on top. Then, I thrust hard again, the loud and wet sound of my hips meeting hers echoing through the room.
I pin her wrists above her head again, my tongue exploring her mouth on the same beat of my thrusts inside her. I take my free hand to her clit, rubbing it in a circular motion.
Zelda groans against my lips, her face distorted in an expression of pure pleasure.
"Yes— harder," she begs.
Harder?
"Won't it hurt you?" I frown, worried.
Zelda laughs, as if I were the most innocent person she had ever met.
"I can take much more than that, Link," she says, shamelessly. "We'll meet a lot around the Castle... you'll find out. But, for now... just go harder," she orders. "Don't hold back."
I nod, still uncertain.
My next thrust is so hard that the small bed creaks, suffering from the impact.
Zelda, on the other hand, just yells, pleased.
"YES— don't stop," she pants.
I keep on moving inside her rudely, the bed creaking ominously; but her moans keep me from slowing down. She tightens more and more around me, licks my mouth, begs for more force, more intensity.
And I comply, giving it all to her.
The bed can't handle it, cracking irreparably.
The bedframe crashes to the floor with a loud bang, the impact making me enter in Zelda even harder. She screams as the orgasm washes over her, trapping me inside her with the sheer force of her grip around me.
"Zelda— I'm gonna—" I moan, desperate.
"Yes," she says, heaving. "You may. I take my potions regularly."
I don't need any further convincing and just surrender, overflowing completely inside her. Intense shivers take over my body, draining all my strength.
I collapse on top of her body, exhausted. Zelda caresses my hair, also struggling for breath.
"So..." I begin, raising my gaze, looking for her. "When do I start at the castle?"
