Work Text:
Nick now understands why people call it the golden hour. As Charlie plays with Nellie, the ball passes between boy and dog, and Charlie glows as the sun sets over the horizon. Charlie is a heavenly presence in Nick’s life, a guiding light that gives Nick purpose and reveals Nick’s authentic self.
It's a moment without coursework, obnoxious older brothers, and GCSE exams where they can be carefree kids. He grabs his phone and takes photo after photo, wanting to preserve this moment that feels snatched from time, their little soap bubble that floats in the wind.
Delicate. Fragile. Precious.
