Welcome Home

Summary:

Takes place after Chapter 222. The Union, and specifically Andy and Fuuko, have some time together before Ragnarök is activated.

Notes:

I was so happy to have Andy back, but I wish there was some downtime so Andy and Fuuko could have some moments together before getting right into Ragnarök. This fic is the result of that wish.

Work Text:

Welcome Home

Fuuko managed to slip away from the party without being noticed. Despite the whole of Union not remembering Andy (save Nico), they all took to his loud personality very quickly. She couldn’t remember the last time her team was able to let loose; it was always one battle after another and though they managed to make it this far with the skills they had, it still often felt like it wasn’t enough.

But then Andy finally made his grand return and kicked Ruin’s ass in a way that no one else would be able to do. Well, with Unluck’s help, he was able to do it. Regardless, Fuuko knew she wouldn’t have been able to handle Ruin on her own. And the battle took a huge toll on her body and mind. She had to wash it all away.

She stepped into her room and stripped down to take a hot shower. Over the years, her hard training allowed her to heal faster than normal, but the harsh spray hitting her bare skin still made her wince. She hung her arms limply to her sides as she tilted her head back and allowed the water to wash through her hair and down her face. Even with the water going, she could still make out the loud voices of her team. She smiled when Andy’s stood out above all the rest.

They all wanted to share their experiences with him, to tell him about these new lives they lead thanks to Fuuko. It was all almost too much praise to take at once. She was smiling so hard that tears were brimming her eyes, but what really did her in was the look of adoration radiating from Andy’s eyes.

“I didn’t expect anything less,” he said, placing a strong hand atop her cap.

Fuuko’s heart skipped a beat when she thought of this moment, her hands clasping over her bare chest as the water continued to fall. She got used to putting on a strong front, of yelling nothing but encouraging words, of carrying the weight of all the hardest parts of battle. And Gina did amazing as her Number 2, but Fuuko still couldn’t allow her to shoulder the pressure of leading a team against the strongest enemies God could throw at them. She didn’t want Gina to stress about keeping everyone alive constantly.

But Andy was different. And Gina sensed that as well, which is why she at once gave up her seat to him. He could carry this life alongside her like no one else ever could, or ever will. And now that he was back, Fuuko didn’t know how she did it so long without him; and though she made it two hundred years without seeing him, being away from him right now was causing her heart to ache and her breathing to quicken.

She quickly turned off the water and stepped out of the shower. She needed to be next to him. But first she needed protection. She got dressed in socks, sweats that hugged her ankles, and a hoodie. Her long hair was still dripping water everywhere, but she managed to put it up in a bun and then stuff it into the hood before pulling it to cover the whole top of her head. Then lastly, her gloves. It has been a while since she got this covered up, but she didn’t want to risk catastrophes tonight.

Fuuko all but jogged to her bedroom door. She knew she might make a scene in front of everyone when she went out there dressed like she was, but they would just have to understand.

But as soon as she swung open the door, she ran right into a wall. Or rather, a rock-solid person. Andy. She glanced up to see him standing there with his knuckle raised like he was getting ready to knock on her door.

“Hey, ya disappeared,” he said with his large grin, “Came to drag ya back to the party.”

Fuuko knew she had only been gone for no more than ten minutes, meaning that he missed her presence as much as she missed his in that short amount of time. And seeing him in front of her now, without the threat of Ruin hanging in front of them, she was able to fully take in what it really meant to have him here in front of her. She thought back to that moment when she first looped, how scared she was, and how the only thing she wanted to do was find him. And how she never could find him for two centuries….

She grabbed his jacket and pulled herself against him. Two hundred years of emotions were bubbling to the surface, and she didn’t know how to stop it.

That is, until she felt him nudge her just enough to get them back into her room, and heard the door close behind them.

“Or maybe we just bring the party in here,” he answered for her. Outside the door, the Union members were still loudly conversing, many of them truly getting to know each other for the first time outside of battle. Inside the door, he wrapped his arms around her covered body and allowed the moment to be just the two of them.

Against his shirt, she mumbled, “I missed you,” before pulling away enough to look right up at him, her eyes misty with tears but a large smile on her lips.

He could see his own feelings reflected in her eyes; how despite all the years they were separated (for him, so much longer), it was like no time had passed between them. Every day apart from her was torture, and he used the physical pain of the sun to get through two hundred years of it. But now that they were here, it was like he blinked and here she was again, more radiant than the sun could ever wish to be.

“I missed ya too, kid,” he finally said, though the words didn’t come close to conveying what was inside of him.

“Hey, I’m not a kid anymore!” Fuuko retorted with a playful twinkle in her eye.

“No, you most definitely are not,” Andy agreed, his hands sliding from around her to down her sides. Despite the clothes she was wearing, he could feel her defined shape from all her hard work.

She blushed despite herself but then took a few steps back, tugging on his own gloved hand with hers. He got the idea and walked closer to the bed with her. She only let go of his hand when she reached the bed, and she scooted herself from the bottom to the top, her back resting against the headboard.
Almost shyly and innocently, she curled and uncurled her index finger in a playful come-hither sign.

Though Andy was almost certain she was just being her silly self, it nearly made him come undone. “G’damn…” he mumbled, loosening his tie and taking off his jacket. They couldn’t seem to take their eyes off each other as he then took off his white shirt while simultaneously kicking off his shoes and unbuckling his belt.

And though Fuuko was almost certain he was just doing this to get more comfortable, and though she’d seen him completely naked more times than she saw him clothed, watching him take his clothes off in a normal way was nearly making her come undone. Truthfully, she at first just wanted to be able to sleep next to him, to know he was there when she fell asleep and would be there when she woke up. But now, keeping eye contact with him as he crawled up the bed to her in nothing but his boxers and gloves, her love for him was causing her brain to short circuit.

He grabbed her legs and tugged at them, causing her to lie down on her back. He wrapped his arms underneath her and laid his head on her stomach. Her breasts were keeping them from seeing each other now, but Andy needed a moment to catch his breath. He had billions of years to come to terms with his feelings for her, but thinking about them and actually being with her were two very different things. He had a few girlfriends in his far distant past, but it was never like this. He never had actual romantic feelings towards those women (he never saw the point; he would just end up outliving them anyway), and though they claimed to love him, he never felt it. Maybe because he never showed them all of who he was, so they didn’t really know him. Hell, he didn’t even know himself, so how could they?

It wasn’t until Fuuko that he started to not only understand himself but know what it felt like to want to be alive.

She ran her gloved hand through his hair, messing it up and letting the strands fall in their natural way. She felt him nuzzle into her a bit more, and she tried to imagine how it felt for him to finally feel something good instead of the constant burning. Though being burned alive for a few hundred years by the sun was a little out of her range of imagination, she still knew what it felt like to be touch starved. For her whole childhood after her parents died, all she could remember was how good hugs and kisses felt, and how she would never be able to have that again. Then she met Andy, and she used every chance she could to be able to touch him. Even if there was room in a car or a plane, she wanted to sit on him. If they were walking, she wanted to hold onto his arm. Though it still wasn’t skin to skin, she didn’t have as much to worry about touching him. She was free to touch him. And best of all, he allowed her to touch him, to hang on him, to fall asleep on him.

Her hands went from his hair to his neck, and she closed her eyes when he let out a small moan of satisfaction.

“You’re gonn’ put me to sleep if ya keep that up,” he said, rubbing his face against her stomach like he was getting ready to settle in for a nap.

Fuuko smiled and tried to look down at him, but couldn’t see him because her damn boobs were blocking him, “When was the last time you had actual sleep?”

“Ah, doesn’t matter,” he said, clearly not wanting to go down that road. He pulled himself off her and laid down next to her. He put one arm under the pillow his head was on, and his other arm grabbed her waist and turned her toward him. “I’d rather we—.”

He got cut short when she reached a gloved hand up and brushed some of his hair out of his eyes. The gesture was so small and gentle, and the look she was giving him was so pure and absolute, that it had his heart constricting against his chest.

“Fuuko…” he nearly choked, and his mind flashed to their final moments back in Loop 100. How he got so used to her being beside him all the time and then suddenly she was taken by Under. How it took her absence for him to realize how completely in love he was. How he was hardly able to function without her. How he wanted to tell her everything as soon as he got her back, but then feeling his world fall back apart when Ruin killed her. If it wasn’t for Juiz’s fast thinking, Fuuko may have been gone forever. He recalled wondering how his mind would have managed that—how he could have handled not dying alongside her—how he would have had to live this life without her. How he then realized he had to figure it out because Ragnarök was happening and she had to loop. He should have told her he loved her before she went. He had billions of years to think about how he should have told her—

And words were seemingly just as hard as before, because he felt them on the tip of his lips. But his eyes must have been screaming them first, because she cupped his cheek in her hand and with teary eyes and a whisper, she said, “Me too…”

His gripped her waist tighter and brought her closer to him. Their faces were as close as could be without touching, and they were entering dangerous territory, but they trusted each other to know the limits, “The first thing ‘m gonna do after we kill God is kiss you.”

A light blush lit up her cheeks, “Andy…”

“Ya worked so hard for so many years so all those lugheads out there could get their happy endin’s…think it’s ‘bout time ya get yours.”

“Andy,” she choked again, his words going straight to her heart, “I can’t wait to touch you without gloves…”

His grin quickly grew, “Now that sounds sexy.”

She slapped his arm, “I didn’t mean it like that!”

He had that mischievous glimmer is his eye, “Ya sure?”

Her blush deepened, but she admitted: “Okay, well maybe a little…”

He laughed and, pulling her hoodie further down in the front until it covered her forehead, kissed her there and then placed his forehead against hers, “Now we have even more motivation to kick God’s ass and put an end to all this shit. Sick—…”

Fuuko’s smiled widened because she knew that they could do it. They had to. She had to know what love felt like without any inhibitions. She wished it could be right now. She ran her fingers along the muscles of his arm, sliding them back up the underside, wanting to start memorizing all the dips and curves that he was made of. She recalled Juiz mentioning the mole behind his right ear. She thought about how close Juiz and Victor were for her to discover that. After learning everything that happened, she didn’t see Victor and Andy as the same person, so the jealousy she felt was more because she couldn’t explore him like that…at least not yet. She wanted not only her hands to know him, but her mouth as well.

“What’s goin’ on in that pretty mind?” Andy asked, and it was then she realized he had been studying her as she touched him.

Her blush returned, but she couldn’t stop now, “Even though I want to touch you without gloves…doesn’t mean I can’t touch you at all.”

His eyes lit up, and it made her heart skip a beat, then he said, “Well I can’t let ya have all the fun!”

His hand slipped from her waist to her ass, grabbing it firmly and pushing her hips against his. She gasped and realized just how close their faces got with that movement. She could feel his breath on her face, and she began to wonder if her Unluck could transfer to him in breath alone, because she felt like he was breathing her in as much as she was him.

She wanted to say that they have to be careful, but she knew he already knew that. Instead, she heard herself saying, “Not really sure what to do…”

“Anything ya want, sweetheart,” his hand gripped the back of her thigh this time and brought her leg over his hip. It reminded her of all the times that she would piggyback on him, and it gave her the idea to roll over to straddle on top of him.

“Oh yeah…?” He questioned in a highly curious tone, his own gloved hands going from her hips to her bare sides as he raised her hoody. And just like all the times she trusted him as they flew through the air during battle, she trusted him now as he carefully slid his hands under her hoodie until they reached her breasts. Fuuko’s head fell back as her eyes closed when his fingertips brushed over her nipples.

“I can’t wait to see ya with your hair down ‘n doin’ this,” he commented, still mesmerized by how into it she already seemed.

Fuuko was, indeed, already getting more worked up than she originally thought she would. Her fuzzy brain was already trying to convince her that everything would be fine if they go crazy without any barriers; that they would just have to make sure to get him as far away from civilization as possible once they were done. But the rational side of her was still present enough to not simply throw caution to the wind; she has, after all, gotten her Unluck a lot more refined since she’d last seen him and she wasn’t sure how catastrophic the damage would be—especially with how her love for him was nearly causing her to burst.

As he continued to rub and pinch her nipples, completely focused on her facial expressions, Fuuko said in almost nonchalant way: “We should do…this right before we fight God. Should be enough to kill ‘em.”

Andy threw his head back and laughed so loudly, it took Fuuko out of the moment and she didn’t realize how funny her statement was until she really thought about it. Before she knew it, she was laughing along with him, her heart swelling just seeing how unabashedly happy he was. Then without warning, he flipped them over, so he was on top of her. He made sure to pull her hoodie down over her stomach again before lowering himself to her, “Ya know, that might not be such a bad idea. Though I could just be sayin’ that for…selfish reasons…”

With those words, he lowered himself down on one elbow and thrust his hips towards hers and it caused another gasp to emit from her lips. The motion caused her legs to fall further open and for her knees to hug his hips. Her mouth stayed open after he brought out another gasp, then a low moan, from her as he pushed his hips against hers a couple more times. Their eyes locked and it was suddenly impossible to look away.

Fuuko grabbed onto his shoulder on the arm he had beside her head but searched for his other hand until she found it, interweaving their fingers together. Her hips met his next time he thrust upwards, and the small grunt that came out of his mouth made her stomach twirl in excitement.

It felt so wrong not to kiss as they found their rhythm with each other, yet the intensity their eyes portrayed more than made up for it. If it didn’t feel as good as it did, Fuuko might have felt embarrassed that they were dry humping each other, of all things, but it just felt like another thing to strengthen their connection.

She squeezed his shoulder, and he somehow knew that it was the sign to stop for a second. She shifted slightly underneath him, her hand that was on his shoulder slipping down between them. Pausing at his navel, she searched his eyes for approval. What she found was so much more, his love and desire for her giving her all the answers she needed. She slipped her hand further and, staying over his boxers, found his length and wrapped her fingers around him. His dick size was proportionate to his body, and though she’d seen him naked plenty of times, something about actually touching him there, and when he was so hard, sent a whole different feeling to her core.

“Ah, when did ya learn how to do this?” he teased, trying not to lose himself too quickly in her featherlight touch.

“Well, I had two-hundred years to daydream about it…” she confessed, and the look of bliss on his face encouraged her to squeeze a little tighter and move her hand, though the angle was a bit off.

“Two-hundred-year-old daydream, huh? No pressure though, right?” Andy grinned down at her, groaning again when she started to become a bit braver and surer of her pressure and movement. She licked her lips every time he made a small moan, and she thought about what he was going to sound like when they could lose control.

She didn’t have time to dwell on it too long, however, before he raised himself up enough to not only give her a better angle, but to touch her as well. He kept his one hand intwined with hers as she seemed unwilling to let go, but with his free hand, he wiggled his fingers up the inside of her thigh. He could already feel how hot she was and wished he could simply strip her and relieve her of that pressure.

But he would have to make do with that they could, and seeing her toss her head back and buck her hips up to his hand when he only lightly touched her center, he knew he could work with it.

“I feel how wet ya are even through your pants,” he told her, chuckling when he watched the deep blush rise from her neck to her whole face. He used two fingers to rub against her, and he could tell he instantly found her sensitive spot when her legs started quivering and her grip on him tightened. Andy was suddenly pulled into the moment and his desire to rip off her pants and put his mouth on her was so strong that we swore he actually did it and he was a second too late to stop himself.

“Andy…!” she gasped out his name, her fingers that were laced through his gripped onto him, her hand wrapped around his cock going faster but in an erratic non-rhythmic way. If Andy’s mind wasn’t already so far gone, if she didn’t look like an absolute angel with her flushed face and glistening eyes, then he might have been able to guide her. But as it was, she didn’t even need to be touching him for him to feel like he was close.

When her breaths started to come out in short bursts, and when her back arched off the bed, and when her mouth took the shape of a silent scream, and when time stood still for a few seconds before her body quivered and his name left her lips over and over as her orgasm hit her fast and hard, he knew that everything he endured up to this point was worth it.

He wanted to kiss her lips until their mouths were both swollen, and this was the thought that had him come undone as well. He groaned deeply when he came in his boxers, his fingers squeezing hers as if she were his lifeline. Fuuko watched him in fascination though glazed eyes. She couldn’t help but admire how absolutely handsome he was as pleasure washed over his whole face. As he started to come back down from his high, she couldn’t help but brush a few strands of his sweaty hair away from his eyes again.

His blue eyes found her brown ones, and her radiant smile was contagious. He carefully lowered himself closer to her again, his elbow resting beside her head, “I think we lasted a good minute ‘n a half.”

Fuuko’s laughter was just as contagious as her smile, and the of them shared in their post orgasm high. She noticed how he didn’t look away from her for even a second and she swore she never saw such gentleness in his eyes. She finally untangled her fingers from his, and she wondered if his hand was as sore as hers from all the pressure they used. But she reached up around his neck to bring his face down to her bosom, making sure her hoodie was covering her chin before she placed her chin on the top of his head and hugged him to her as tightly as she could.

“Let’s just stay like this forever,” she said, keeping him firmly locked to her.

“I could live here,” he agreed, nuzzling her breasts through her hoodie. Fuuko only hummed softly in contentment. They lay in silence together, not worrying about filling it with words. Maybe they had a lot to catch up on, maybe they didn’t. But the years of nonstop fighting had led them to this moment of peace, and they felt like they could finally breathe. The battle against God was still looming, but they would focus on that tomorrow.

“Need a shower,” Andy mumbled, slowly peeling himself away from her. She nodded, wishing she could join him, but she’d just have to use that wish to push her resolve in defeating God. In the meantime, she enjoyed the view as he walked to her bathroom, stripping off his boxers and throwing them in her laundry basket. The thought of his clothes mixing with hers made her smile. The shower turned on and she suddenly felt too far away from him.

She made her way into the bathroom as well, and she could see his silhouette through the shower curtain. “I have extra toothbrushes,” she told him as she stood at the sink, happy with still seeing his reflection in the mirror, “Kept them on hand for when you came back. Plus, it means you can stay here,” she blushed when she realized what she said, and the steam coming from the spray of the water made her that much warmer, “I mean, if you want to. If you’d rather sleep by yourself your first night back so you don’t have to worry about—.”

“’Course I’m stayin’ here,” he said from behind the curtain, “Why would I want my own room?”

Fuuko watched her face in the mirror as her lips raised into a large smile, and she almost didn’t recognize herself. There were times when she was a teenager, Loop 100 depressed her, she would look at her reflection and wonder how so much sadness and loneliness could be in one set of eyes. At that time, she knew once she finished You-Me, that was going to be it for her. She didn’t want it to be, but how could she ever love someone, and how could someone ever love her, as she was?

Andy turned off the shower, pushing the curtain aside and wrapping her towel around his waist. He walked up behind her, his eyes catching hers in the mirror. Her smile was contagious, and he couldn’t help but echo her.

“Wuz’at grin about?” he asked, taking the toothbrush she handed to him that already had toothpaste on it.

Fuuko put toothpaste on her own brush as she said, “Just thinking about what you said to me earlier…about fate. You—you saved me. I’m not sure I ever thanked you for that…”

Andy was already brushing his teeth but continued to study her as her whole face stayed lit up even as she stuck her own toothbrush in her mouth.

“I love this!” she said enthusiastically, yet carefully, making sure not to spill any paste. Some still managed to dribble down her chin, causing her to do a surprised “Mmm!” before leaning over the sink.

When Andy was by himself for those billions of years and thinking about her and the time they spent together, he found that it really was a lot of little things about her that made him fall in love with her. It was at this moment, however, that really drove that point home. Before he even met her, he thought he would be living a life—an endless life—of bouncing from place to place, never really making genuine or long-term connections. Because how could he? Why was the simple act of brushing his teeth with her so much more meaningful than anything he’d done with anyone else?

They finished brushing their teeth, then climbed back into bed. Fuuko made sure her body was still completely covered before getting close to him. Andy raised his arm for her to lay against him, which she excitedly accepted. She pressed her back against his chest, loving the feel of his strong arm that enveloped her. She gripped onto his arm with her gloved hand even though she knew he wasn’t going anywhere.

“Welcome home,” she told him, expanding on what she told him when he first came back. Her heart swelled when his grip tightened around her, and she could feel his strong heart beating against her as well.

“Good to be home.”
