Megatron sighed wearily, a servo placed on his face as his officers argued. The Decepticons have already been compromised by the senate, hunting them down to shut down their operation. Currently, him, his officers and many Decepticons are currently taking refuge inside the gladiators' pit they recently took over from the nobles and concurrently, him and his officers are having a meeting should their planned movement start now, or wait a few more orns they couldn't afford.... or stellar cycles Starscream and Shockwave seemed go agree on for the first time. They were running out of time, and Megatron understood this, but he couldn't speak for his other officers. Maybe Soundwave agrees with him, hence why he's arguing on his behalf. Or Thundercracker, whose motives on going against his trinemate's opinion may be a source of self amusement or he actually agrees with him.
In any case, Megatron cannot afford to delay the movement, else they all perish one by one without a fight. With how the argument is progressing however, he doubts they will land on an answer anytime soon and he needs an answer now. Therefore if he can't find his answers here, then he will find it elsewhere. With a sigh, he left the meeting room, his officers not noticing except for a few, too invested in their argument.
He stepped at the balcony where a podium stood. Back then, this balcony was used for special occasions of nobles speaking slag before a public execution- Oh sorry, gladiatorial fight was about to start between a gladiator and whoever high ranking official unlucky enough to be sentenced to death. Now that they have seized the pit for themselves, it is used by him to give his speeches and spread his belief to his fellow low-caste. At the podium, he watched below down where the ring is, where at least a few thousand low-castes were occupying the ring as well as the bleachers. His optics are filled with pride, watching them help each other. He can feel the camaraderie between each of them. He resets his vocalizer before turning on the microphone and getting the attention of his people.
"My fellow Decepticons!" His voice boomed and all movement ceased. Helms tilted toward the balcony where he stood, optics watching him and audio receptors eager to hear him speak.
"All of you have seen the fate of those one of us captured and in the hands of the senate. You have seen the fate that awaits us, should the senate reach our final stronghold. Our position and organization has been compromised, and the moment we show ourselves, the senate will waste no time to take their chances. We are all wanted, and the senate wants our helms. If we do not start the uprising now, the senate will get to us first, and our sacrifice would have been for nothing. What then, do you say my fellow Cybertronians?" His speech halted, waiting for a response. It was silent for a few nano-cycles, before one voice shouted amongst the crowd.
"Revolt!" The mech shouted and continued. Until one voice became two, and two became five. Until the rest of them started chanting. His officers, curious over the commotion, stepped outside, standing next to him. Optics cast over the mechs below, chanting with their fists reaching up the sky.
"If you truly want to start now..." Megatron spoke once more, and all noises ceased once again to listen.
"Then I would need proof of your loyalty. This-" He raised a datapad in the air that contained the symbol they used to identify each other through markings on areas hidden away from public optics.
"- is the symbol we have embraced! The symbol of our defiance against the senate and the new face of freedom! In the past, we have worn this in secrecy and those days are no more. We will wear this symbol with pride! Wear this on the surface of your armors and show the senate that we are not scared of them despite their threats!" He finished and the crowd roared. The final decision being made, many of the low-castes were emotional in various ways. From crying to straight up murderous. Megatron turned from the podium and made his retreat back towards the meeting room. Starscream grumbled before following his leader, and the rest of his command followed. Outside, they can hear the chants of their people, strong and loud that marked the official start of the revolution.
"Long live Cybertron!"
