Summary:

[COMPLETE] MOMO x OKARUN. Momo and Okarun encounter a love yokai that stirs emotions neither of them are prepared to face. In the aftermath of its influence—vivid dreams, an undeniable connection, and lingering doubts—they must confront feelings that may have always been there. Are these emotions truly theirs, or just another trick of the yokai?

Chapter 1: Love Yokai

Chapter Text

The autumn air was crisp, thick with the scent of fallen leaves and the faint tang of rain. Momo and Okarun walked side by side through the quiet park, their footsteps muffled by the damp gravel path. The world around them seemed to close in, shadows from tall trees stretching long and dark, fading into twilight. Their breaths misted in the air, each exhale thick with the weight of unspoken things between them.

“I still can’t believe you dragged me out here to find some... love yokai,” Momo muttered, shoving her hands into her pockets. Her voice was confident, but her eyes darted around, half-expecting to see a yokai materialize in the misty edges of the park. “You really think it’s real?”

Okarun shrugged, a spark of nervous excitement flickering in his eyes as he looked over at her. “Well, we’ve seen plenty of strange things already, haven’t we? What’s one more?” His laugh was soft, almost apologetic, but he squared his shoulders, scanning the shadowed trees. “Besides, what if it’s real? They say this yokai messes with people’s minds… makes them feel things they wouldn’t normally feel.”

Momo raised an eyebrow, smirking. “Like love? Give me a break.”

But she couldn’t shake the slight tremor in her chest as she said it, a feeling she couldn’t quite name. She’d faced off with plenty of spirits and strange creatures before, but this was different, somehow. The idea of a yokai that toyed with emotions felt too… personal.

Okarun laughed, though it sounded a little forced. “I mean, it could be dangerous. People say it’s been causing all sorts of chaos lately. Couples acting strange, people doing things they wouldn’t normally do. Obsessive things.” He glanced at her, a hint of a blush on his cheeks. “And besides, you like a challenge, don’t you?”

“Always.” She gave him a confident grin, though her stomach tightened as they walked deeper into the trees. Something felt off. The air had grown thick, almost hazy, and an odd, soft light seemed to filter through the trees, casting everything in a faint pinkish hue.

They turned a corner and stopped. In front of them, the path opened into a small clearing, the edges of which were swallowed by shadows. In the center of the clearing, a strange figure hovered in the air. It looked like it was made of mist, its form shifting and morphing as it moved, as if it were both there and not there at the same time. The figure glowed faintly, its pinkish hue casting an eerie light across the clearing.

“That… that must be it,” Okarun whispered, his voice barely audible.

Momo nodded, her heart pounding. She felt an inexplicable pull, like something was drawing her forward, compelling her to step closer. She shook her head, trying to shake off the sensation, but it lingered, a warmth spreading through her chest.

The yokai turned toward them, its eyes glowing a deep, hypnotic pink. Momo felt a strange sensation wash over her, a warmth that started in her chest and spread outward, making her pulse quicken. She glanced at Okarun, feeling an unexplainable awareness of him beside her. His hand was inches from hers, close enough that she could feel his warmth. She swallowed, tearing her gaze away.

“What… what’s happening?” she murmured, barely able to hear her own voice over the pounding of her heart.

The yokai emitted a low, humming sound, its eyes locking onto theirs. A thick, pink mist began to spread from its body, curling around their feet and slowly rising, enveloping them in a warm, tingling fog. Momo felt her skin prickle, her senses heightened, every small sound and movement amplified. She could feel Okarun’s presence beside her, his every breath, his heartbeat echoing in her ears.

Momo’s cheeks flushed, and she took a shaky step back, her gaze flickering to Okarun. His eyes were wide, his face flushed as he stared at the yokai, his hand clenched at his side.

The yokai’s eyes glowed brighter, and suddenly, Momo felt an overwhelming urge to move closer to Okarun, to reach out and touch him. She shook her head, fighting the sensation, but it was almost too strong to resist. Her hand twitched, almost reaching out, but she forced herself to stop, clenching her fists.

“This… this must be the yokai’s doing,” she whispered, her voice barely steady. “It’s trying to mess with our heads.”

Okarun nodded, his gaze flickering to her. “Yeah… it’s like it’s making us… feel things. Strong things.”

They took a step back, trying to put distance between themselves and the yokai, but the mist followed, clinging to them, its warmth intensifying. Momo could feel her pulse racing, her heart pounding as she struggled to focus.

“We have to fight it,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “Before it completely takes over.”

Okarun nodded, his jaw set in determination. “Right. Let’s do this.”

He took a deep breath, then his form shifted, his body lengthening and transforming, his eyes sharpening with an intense, almost predatory look as Turbo Granny’s power surged through him. A grin—Turbo Granny’s grin, confident and sly—spread across his face.

"Hold on tight," he said, his voice a notch deeper, almost daring.

Without hesitation, Momo slid her arms around his shoulders, pressing herself close to his back. She could feel the electric charge of his power thrumming through her fingertips, warming her from the inside out. Her heart pounded as she clung to him, her cheek just brushing his shoulder as his body radiated an intense, almost magnetic heat that seemed to resonate with her own pulse.

Okarun crouched, then launched them forward, his movements swift and smooth, almost too fast for Momo’s senses to process. She held on tighter, her arms wrapped firmly around his chest, feeling every subtle shift in his muscles, every surge of power that propelled them forward. Her own heart raced in time with his, each beat echoed by the warmth pressing against her chest.

The love yokai shrieked, the pink mist thickening around them, swirling in an almost seductive rhythm, as though trying to trap them in its hazy embrace. Okarun dodged and weaved through the mist, his determination fierce, his movements fluid and confident. The air around them seemed to vibrate, each brush of his arm or twist of his torso sending a shiver through her.

She could feel his heartbeat, steady and strong, and her own pulse seemed to sync with it, as if the yokai’s magic was binding them together in more ways than one. The sensation was overwhelming, intoxicating—Momo could barely catch her breath as she tightened her hold on him, feeling the strength in his frame, the safety in his presence.

Okarun glanced over his shoulder, his face inches from hers, a flicker of something intense in his gaze. "You doing alright back there?"

“Y-Yeah,” she managed, her voice barely above a whisper, a blush creeping up her cheeks. “Don’t get cocky.”

A playful grin tugged at the corner of his lips, his Turbo Granny transformation giving him a wild confidence. “I don’t know,” he replied, his voice smooth, almost teasing. “Feels like you’re holding on pretty tight.”

Momo felt a spark of defiance flare up inside her, masking the flutter of nervous energy building in her chest. “Just focus on not dropping me, idiot.”

They neared the yokai, and she could feel the energy between them intensifying, the warmth pressing against her skin, their breaths mingling as he picked up speed. With one final burst of power, he charged through the pink mist, his hands reaching out as they neared the love yokai.

Momo felt the surge of his energy pouring into her, filling her with a strength she hadn’t realized she possessed. Her body seemed to hum in sync with his, their powers intertwining as they prepared for the final blow. Her fingers tingled as she channeled her energy, each pulse resonating with Okarun’s heartbeat, her senses sharpened, her every nerve alive.

“Now!” she shouted, her voice fierce, filled with adrenaline and something deeper, something raw.

Together, they unleashed their combined power in a brilliant flash of light, the energy exploding from them in a wave that washed over the yokai. The creature let out a high-pitched scream, its form shuddering as their attack struck, the pink mist dissipating, fading into nothingness.

They collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily, their bodies still buzzing from the rush of power. Momo’s hands were still resting on his shoulders, her breath warm against his neck as she steadied herself. The air was silent, the charged atmosphere between them now palpable without the yokai’s influence.

Okarun turned to face her, his expression softened, his usual shyness starting to creep back. "Guess… we did it," he murmured, his gaze flickering to her lips before quickly darting away, his cheeks a faint shade of red.

Momo felt her own blush rising, her heart still racing. Her hands lingered on his shoulders for a moment longer before she pulled away, trying to collect herself, but the unspoken tension between them hung thick in the air.

As they stood in silence, Momo found herself wondering if the feelings that had surfaced between them had really been the yokai’s doing—or if there was something genuine simmering beneath the surface, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.

As they began their walk back, neither said a word about the lingering glances, the close proximity, or the warmth that seemed to follow them. But each felt it—an unspoken connection, a spark that had somehow deepened that night, leaving them both wondering what might come next.

Later that evening….

Momo lay in bed, her mind racing with fragments of the night’s events. She closed her eyes, but the intensity of the fight, the feel of Okarun’s warmth, his energy merging with hers, kept replaying in her mind. Every detail lingered—his touch, his steady gaze, the teasing grin that Turbo Granny’s influence brought out in him. Even after they’d said goodnight, she could still feel that energy coursing through her, a warmth that hadn’t faded.

Finally, exhaustion took over, and she drifted into sleep. But her mind didn’t let her rest.

In her dream, she was back in the park, standing in the same clearing where they’d faced the yokai. The mist was thicker now, swirling around her in soft, rose-colored tendrils that seemed to hum with warmth. Her heart quickened, her skin tingling in the charged air. The sound of footsteps echoed softly behind her, distinct yet gentle, and she turned, instinctively knowing who she’d see.

Okarun stood there, watching her with that same intense gaze, his half-smile tugging at his lips. He looked exactly as he had earlier, yet something in his eyes, a spark she hadn’t seen before, made her pulse quicken, her skin prickle with anticipation. She took a hesitant step forward, feeling an invisible pull, a magnetic force that made her forget everything else.

“Okarun…” she murmured, her voice barely a whisper.

He stepped closer, gaze locked on hers, his presence drawing her into a private world where only they existed. She felt his warmth as he approached, the air around them charged with a tension that vibrated between them. He reached out, his hand brushing her cheek, his touch soft but searing, leaving a trail of heat that traveled through her, settling deep in her chest.

Her heart thundered as she leaned into his touch, breath catching as his hand slid to her jaw, tilting her face up, his eyes capturing hers with a smoldering intensity. He was so close now, close enough that she could feel the heat radiating from him, see the faint flush on his cheeks, the depth of emotion in his gaze.

Without thinking, she lifted her hand, resting it lightly on his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her fingertips. The mist thickened around them, pressing in, cocooning them in warmth and shadow, her own pulse racing as he leaned in, his face mere inches from hers.

Their lips met in a soft, tentative kiss, and a spark ignited, spreading through her in a rush of heat that left her breathless. She felt his hands slide to her waist, pulling her closer, and she melted into him, her arms wrapping around his neck as the kiss deepened, filled with an intensity that made her forget everything.

The world faded around them, the mist thickening until all else disappeared in a haze of warmth and sensation. She could feel his energy pulsing through her, the same surge of power she’d felt during the fight, only now it was gentler, softer, wrapping around her in an embrace that left her heart pounding.

But then, she felt a shift. The warmth of his touch grew hotter, more intense, and she opened her eyes to find his form changing. His hand at her waist grew firmer, his grip stronger, as she felt the familiar surge of Turbo Granny’s power taking over, his body transforming, growing taller, his presence more imposing, charged with a wild, electrifying energy.

She drew a sharp breath, her heart racing as she looked up to see Turbo Granny’s sly grin mask disappear from his face and revealing a smile spreading across his face. His fingers trailed down her cheek, lingering at her neck, leaving a line of warmth that sent shivers down her spine. His voice was deeper, playful, filled with a mischief that matched his intense gaze.

“So… you like it when I transform?” he murmured, his voice rich, smooth, a hint of challenge in his tone.

Her cheeks flushed, her heart pounding as she met his gaze, caught off guard by his confidence. “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.” But her voice wavered, betraying her, and she knew too well what he was hinting at.

His grin widened, his hand slipping lower, pulling her against him with a firm pressure that made her dizzy. “Oh, I think you do,” he said, voice a low rumble that sent a shiver through her. “I can feel it, you know. Every time you hold on to me, every time you press against me… I feel it.”

The words made her heart race, her cheeks burn as she struggled to respond, to break the intensity of the moment, but her voice failed her. “Feel…what?” she finally managed, barely audible.

How much he was driving her wild? How every time they were together, the attraction was growing, slipping beyond the bounds of friendship?

Okarun’s gaze held hers, unwavering, a smoldering intensity igniting in his eyes that made her skin tingle under his touch. His hand moved up to cup her face, his thumb brushing her cheek with a deliberate softness that sent shivers along her spine. He leaned closer, his lips grazing her ear, his breath hot against her skin, leaving her breathless.

“You don’t have to pretend,” he murmured, his voice low, charged with an electric heat that settled deep in her core. “I feel it too.”

Her eyelids fluttered closed as she leaned into him, surrendering to the warmth, to the power of his touch, to the way he made her feel intensely alive. Her heart raced as his hand trailed down, lingering at her waist before slipping beneath her sweater. The rough warmth of his fingers against her bare skin ignited a fire that spread through her, a need that left her breathless and aching. She wanted more—she wanted him, his touch, his intensity—and her body arched toward him, as if silently urging him higher.

As if reading her desire, Okarun’s hand stilled, his gaze meeting hers with a silent question. She nodded, almost shyly, her face flushed as she took a step back, lifting her sweater to expose herself to him, her black bra accentuating the curve of her chest. Her pulse thundered as his eyes roamed over her, a dark hunger in his gaze that made her feel both vulnerable and powerful, like she was on the edge of something she could barely control.

“You can touch me,” she whispered, her voice unsteady, and before she could say another word, he pulled her close, his lips trailing a path along her neck. His mouth was warm, his kisses deliberate, each one sending waves of pleasure through her. She gasped as he found a sensitive spot just below her ear, her body arching into him, her skin tingling with every kiss he pressed against her.

“My pleasure,” he murmured, his voice thick with a confidence so different from his usual self. His lips continued their descent, pausing as he reached the valley between her breasts. He looked up at her, his gaze filled with a raw, unspoken desire before he gently moved aside the fabric of her bra, uncovering one breast. Momo’s breath hitched as his mouth descended, his tongue circling her nipple before he drew it into his mouth, his lips and tongue moving in a slow, sensual rhythm that left her gasping, her fingers curling into his hair.

“Okarun…” she breathed, her voice a soft plea as he continued his tender assault, his mouth alternating between gentle kisses and teasing nips, his tongue tracing patterns that left her mind hazy with longing. Her bra slipped down, and she let it fall away, exposing herself fully to him, surrendering completely to the moment.

His kisses grew bolder, trailing lower and lower, moving down between her breasts, his lips tracing a line downward that left a trail of warmth in their wake. His fingers skimmed her sides, his touch rough but gentle, each movement igniting a fresh wave of desire that made her ache for more, her heart pounding as she felt him drifting lower, his kisses feathering across her skin, each one leaving a mark of warmth and anticipation.

But just as the heat between them reached a fever pitch, the world around her began to shift. The warmth of his touch started to fade, his kisses growing distant, like smoke slipping through her fingers. She tried to hold on, to keep him close, to capture the intensity of the moment, but it was no use. The dream unraveled, leaving her breathless, her heart racing as she lay in the darkness, the echo of his voice and the lingering heat of his touch imprinted in her mind.

Momo woke with a start, her heart racing, her cheeks flushed as the remnants of the dream lingered in her mind. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but the warmth, the feeling of his touch, was still there, vivid and unshakable.

She pressed a hand to her chest, feeling the rapid beat of her heart, and closed her eyes, the memory of the dream replaying in her mind, each detail as clear as if it had been real.

For a moment, she lay there, letting herself bask in the warmth, the lingering feeling of his touch. But as her heart began to steady, she opened her eyes, the reality settling over her. It had been a dream… but it felt like so much more than that. It felt real, like an echo of something that had been stirred to life, something she could no longer ignore.

She glanced at the clock, the dim light of dawn just beginning to seep through her window. With a sigh, she sat up, running a hand through her hair as she tried to shake off the lingering haze of the dream. But even as she got out of bed, preparing to face the day, the memory of his touch, his voice, stayed with her, a warmth that refused to fade.

And as she walked out of her room, she couldn’t help but wonder… if maybe, just maybe, some part of that dream had been more than just her imagination.
