Chapter Text
Night had finally fallen over the lighthouse. All the tedious distractions came to a close - and the fatigue finally hit Rook all at once. A deep ache set place in between her shoulders, and her posture sagged down a fraction. She could finally allow herself this moment of honesty. The heaviness of the duties placed upon her were starting to tear ever so slightly. She couldn't - no, wouldn't let the others see this side of her. They looked to her for guidance, inspiration, and most importantly, leadership. But she’d be lying if she said the duty didn't come without cost.
“Damn our gods.” Rook sighed to herself as she sunk down onto the chaise placed in the middle of the rotunda. All of the companions had taken to their quarters. It was a strange feeling being left alone to her thoughts. Thoughts that, for some reason, kept tracing back to a particular member of the Crows.
“Couldn’t sleep?” His voice carried from the entryway. Rook looked up and made eye contact with a familiar pair of deep brown orbs. Just as if her thoughts had materialized into fruition, Lucanis Dellamonte stood in front of her. Damn him , she thought. It's like he can read my mind sometimes .
“You could say that…” Rook responded, not mentioning that the fellow Crow was one of the reasons behind this particular late night tryst.
“Ah, I thought I saw you come in here. So I….” Lucanis’ words drifted off as he nervously played with the purple tea cup in between his hands. “I made you coffee. Dark roast with a hint of hazelnut and chocolate liquor.”
Her heart faltered a bit as he filled in the space between the front door and the green velvet chaise. She couldn’t believe the words, let alone the evidence mere feet in front of her. The thick scent of the concoction rolled around Rooks’ senses, setting all nerves alight. He had remembered her favorite coffee from their first mission together.
“Oh… thank you so much, Lucanis. You remembered -” Rook thanked as she cautiously took the fragile drinkware from his hands. The tips of his tanned fingers brushed against hers, the contact sent a trail of fire up her arm.
“Of course. You have a fine taste in coffee.” Lucanis offered her a cheeky smile as he hurriedly shoved his hands into his pockets.
Rook swirled the coffee around in the mug as she thought of her next words. She rarely got moments alone with Lucanis. Let alone ones he initiated himself. She was scared he’d disappear at any moment.
“How did you describe this blend when we first ordered it? Bitter but sweet, right?” She set him up in hopes he would take the bait.
“Yes, like a kiss goodbye.” He finished his description just like the first time he had given it to her.
“Right, that's how you worded it. I’ve never met someone more romantic about describing their coffee” He chuckled deeply in response, which made a faint shade of blush come across Rook’s cheeks.
“What can I say, I'm a passionate man.” He teased back. His eyes grew darker as he watched Rook take her first sip. A soft film of liquor lingered on her upper lip, making her mouth glisten in the candlelight by the side table.
“And how would a passionate man like yourself describe coffee that tastes like a kiss goodnight?” Rook challenged. Her voice wavered ever so slightly, her stomach going into a fit of knots.
Lucanis looked intently at her. His eyes displayed a sense of shock, yet a hint of something else swirled around in his gaze. He filled in the final steps between the two of them. He stood in front of her now, tall and confident. His hands came back out of his pockets and one extended towards her free hand. She took his grasp without a thought, and he pulled her in closer until they were chest to chest.
The sudden jolt upright sent the cup in her grasp straight to the floor. The glass crescendoed into splintered pings across the floor. She thought the sudden crash would tear Lucanis away, but his gaze did not falter from her face. If he noticed it at all, his eyes gave away no signs.
“In order to describe such a thing,” Lucanis began to answer her previous question, “ I would first have to savor the blend presented to me that night.” He answered diplomatically, his eyes roaming over the wetness still coating her top lip.
“Well about that…” Rook nervously eyed the coffee now puddling on the marble floor. “We might be out. Completely.” She nervously chewed on the inside of her cheek as Lucanis gently rolled his eyes at her.
“Darling, I see plenty I can work with.” He gently brushed the loose pieces of hair out of her face as he cradled her cheek. Her breathing stopped. He was so close .
Lucanis slowly started to tilt his head towards Rooks’. She stood frozen in place, shock overtaking her senses. As for the Demon of Vyrantium, each movement came boldly. He slowly got closer, a mere inch away from those lips he’d been admiring all night. He could smell the trace of chocolate on her breath, each nervous inhale reminding him that something of his creation was now on her .
“She smells like coffee, and a burning fire. We want to taste her. Let me taste!” Spite screamed at Lucanis in his head. Lucanis shook his head firmly, trying to shake Spite’s intention from his mind.
“Are you alright?” Rook asked, placing a soft hand on top of his chest. She must have seen the shift in his face.
“Mierda- I’m sorry, Rook.” He cradled the hand on top of his chest softly. He traced Rooks’ fingers intently, remembering the shape of each one. He tried to still his mind as he memorized her touch. He loved hearing the faltering of breaths as he brought her hand up to his lips. He kissed each tip of her fingers gently, bringing the soft skin in contact with a swirl of his tongue.
“Yes, taste. Just like that. Let us taste more .” Spite hummed in his ear. Lucanis sent a pleading glance to Rook, who was staring at him with a fiery blush now painted across her cheeks. Her mouth was parted slightly, her ragged breaths moving between those lovely lips of hers. He softly brought her hand back down to his chest, and continued to cradle her cheek. She looked so delectable under this light, especially in the palm of his hand.
He tilted his head in a bit more, a mere moment away from what he had been craving for weeks. She responded in kind, closing her eyes in anticipation.
He felt Spite’s anger fuel in the pit of his chest. Also his desire, potent and hungry. The flame grew within him with each passing moment, almost unmanageable.
“Let me out, stop being scared and let us kiss her damn it-” Spite’s anger ruptured in Lucanis’ inner monologue. He couldn’t bear the intensive burning anymore. If he stepped any further, he would lose control. He couldn't, not in front of Rook.
“I– I can't, I can't…” He repeated, almost pleaded, the second one being more firm than the first. He gently used a thumb to wipe away the glistening coat of her top lip. He imagined his tongue doing the motion as he did so. Spite raged in return.
“I’m sorry,” Rook squeezed Lucanis’ hand before he reluctantly pulled away from her grasp. “I didn’t mean to overstep..”
“No, there is nothing to apologize for.” Lucanis interjected with a soft tone. “I’m sorry about your coffee..” He finally acknowledged the broken glass on the floor with a soft smile.
“It was still a nice surprise. Thank you, Lucanis.” There was a sadness perched on the edge of her smile. He tried to ignore the tug in his gut as he made his way back towards the front door.
“Goodnight, Rook.” He called before shutting the door gently behind him.
XxXx
“This is how you should be after that. Writhing, miserable, learn your damn lesson.” Spite hurled insults his way as he paced across the room from his prison.
Lucanis moaned lightly in response, slowly stroking up and down his shaft as he thought of sucking on those luscious lips from earlier. He loved how Rook parted her lips when he made her nervous. God, imagine those lips parted on his…
“You could have tasted her, you idiot!” Spite raged at him, to no avail. Lucanis couldn’t think of anything but Rook at the moment. How her face wore a deep shade of red when she got aroused….
“Mierda- please, right there.” Lucanis moaned out loud to himself. He cupped his tip in his firm hand, imagining it was her lips doing the motion. The tension in his stomach kept building with the same intensity from earlier.
“How pathetic .” Spite snarled at him. “ Taste her.”
Lucanis gave in to Spite’s desires. His mind filled with images of her laying in front of him, legs parted slightly. Just enough for his shoulders to sit perched between them. He wanted to be chin deep, every inch of her beautiful cunt draped over his beard. He could vividly imagine the redness seeping into her clit as he licked at it teasingly. A little taste, a subtle suck and flick of his tongue.
“Right there- yes, give me more.” Spite moaned in response to the imagery.
Lucanis stuck his tongue deeper into Rook's folds. She perfectly fit around him, riding his tongue with a slight rock of her hips. Soft moans escaped her lips while Lucanis continued to pierce her with his tongue. Spite grew wild in response, firing up the burning in Lucanis’ stomach.
“Give it to me, Rook.” Lucanis moaned out, a hint of Spite tracing the edges of his syllables.
He felt himself starting to unravel in his own hand at the thought of eating her out so intensely. He knew she would ride him like that, and she would moan his name while doing so.
Cum started to seep out the slit on his tip, and his pace hastened in his hand. He pumped furiously, determined - he would come to the thought of Rook once again. He could hear Spite losing his grip as well. The sound of their slick pumping stayed in a unified rhythm.
“Fuck, I-” Lucanis growled deeply, folding over himself as he rode out his own orgasm. The heat erupted from his core - setting his whole body on fire. He came in waves, feeling wetness seep down his legs and grow at the base of his cock. Just the thought of her was enough to send him over the edge.
God, she was going to be the death of him.
