The water rippled against Moiraine's bare feet, and the wood was warm against her back. Her pale breasts basked in sun, and the dock pressed into the curve of her knees as she drifted her feet through the water. She'd lived in peace for a decade now, but she still knew to cherish it.
The padding of footsteps drew Moiraine from her musings. Another body settled next to hers, a second pair of feet sliding into the water and making little waves. Siuan tangled their fingers together, Moiraine giving her lover a smile before settling her head against Siuan's shoulder.
They lay there, breathing together, until the sky turned gold.
