Chapter Text
Apollo thinks he has had really bad luck with bosses.
His first job was a fast food restaurant he was working at to pay for college. That boss was an absolute creep.
Next job was with Mr. Gavin. No comment.
Mr. Wright. That was a different story.
It wasn’t like he was a bad boss or anything. He was just weird. He survived way more than what a normal person should be able to survive. Getting tazed? No problem. Knocked in the head with a fire extinguisher. Fine. Falling from a burning bridge into a river. Totally fine except for a fever. It was weird how he didn’t get any burns. Something isn’t adding up.
“Apollo?”
“AHHH” Apollo whipped around, dropped the pen he was fidgeting with, and was greeted with Mr. Wright's face looking down on him with concern
.
“You have an awful lot of clothes on for this weather.” Phoenix questioned, “Are you feeling okay?”
Apollo stared at him with a blank stare. “Mr. Wright it is literally 15 degrees in here. Are you sure you are doing all right?” He chattered out. Apollo fidgeted with the end of his scarf. “It’s quite literally freezing.”
Mr. Wright only gave him a quizzical stare before his eyes lit up. He then spun on his heel and walked out the door muttering to himself. Apollo couldn’t hear much of what he was saying due to the insanely creaky floor boards. All he heard was “remember to pay the bills, remember to…”
Apollo sat there puzzled. Mr. Wright wasn’t the best at remembering things after getting hit in the head with a coffee mug a few too many times. But how could he have forgotten to pay the bills for 2 months?
Surely he has noticed the freezing temperatures in the office. It was quite hard to ignore how cold it was. As the weather outside got colder so did the temperature inside the office.
Apollo felt bad about mentioning it to Mr. Wright. He understands that money is quite tight for Mr. Wright and Trucy. He’s fine missing a paycheck or two if that means Mr. Wright can afford to get something extra for Trucy.
That still doesn’t explain the baffled stare Mr. Wright gave him. Apollo understands forgetting the bills once, but two weeks is a bit much. How could Mr. Wright not have noticed the freezing temperature?
Maybe he should take this up with Mr. Edgeworth. Mr. Edgeworth seems to be the only one able to get Mr. Wright to listen to his concerns. Totally not an excuse to spend some time in a properly heated environment. Apollo thought to himself as he picked up his tea to take a sip. Only for him to realize it had frozen into an ice block.
“UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
He then proceeded to bang his head on his desk loudly.
