Work Text:

Sakura enters the broadcasting room expecting all hell to have broken loose that is the usual situation when she leaves him in the room on his own. Sakura sighed even before she opened the door, but when she opened the door nothing happened there was nothing. She was relieved and also strangely tense. Her steps slow and cautious she didn't know what she'd expect, but she definitely didn't expect Tsukasa to just be sitting on the sofa staring out in front of him with a blank expression it wasn't his usual scheming smirk but a empty stare as if there was no thought yet so many thoughts going through at the same time. Sakura decided to just ignore it and take this moment of peace to get work done.

She really tried to focus, she really did, but there was a strong tension in the room. This just felt wrong on so many levels. When she finally had enough she closed her book and placed it down on the desk and gracefully stood up and walked up to Tsukasa and sat next to him on the sofa. Tsukasa's gaze didn't falter from the point he decided to focus. Sakura put her hand on his shoulder and that finally made his focus falter and made him look at her. His look was weird Tsukasa's usual big and round eyes were half-lidded and his eyes as deep and dark as the
abyss. Sakura's gaze softens.

"Is there something on your mind?" Sakura's voice soft voice cut through the silence that hadn't been broken since her entrance. Tsukasa looks forward again and he doesn't say anything. Sakura understands it's not he wants to talk about at the moment. Tsukasa isn't one to show what he really thinks so she knows it's either something he doesn't really grasp himself or something so deep rooted that if he uttered it he'd become more strange than he currently is. It's for the best that he doesn't want to talk about it. Sakura isn't the best one with emotions and social cues. Not that Tsukasa is great at them either. The both of them just sit on the sofa for a while before Sakura speaks up again.

"Are you interested in sweets?" Sakura doesn't really know what she hopes to achieve now. Does she want to comfort him? get rid of this strange tension that was never here before or learn about the inner turmoil of the boy? She really doesn't know, it currently it doesn't matter.

Right now she'll just go with what feels natural sometimes things don't have motives right? sometimes moments are genuine and this might be one of those genuine ones. One of the few genuine things in this school shrouded in secrets and mysteries.

"I guess I can have sweets. Macaroons?" The supernatural's voice was oddly quiet and soft a stark contrast to his loud and scratchy voice.

"Macaroons it is" Sakura laces her fingers and pulls the ghost boy up from his sitting position and she pulls him to the boundary where like usual there are a bunch of sweets on the table. The sit next to each other. Sakura sets herself tea and Tsukasa grabs a plate of macaroons. Sakura enjoys the bitterness of the tea she had always wanted to try this blend and she's enjoying it quite a lot. Tsukasa on the other hand was barely touching the macaroons and eating them slower than he usually would.

What happened next was truly shocking even for someone like Sakura who has seen a lot.
Tsukasa lay his head on the table and looked at Sakura with a look that made her heart melt and want to protect him from the cruel world outside this boundary. She has to admit it was unexpected from him, Tsukasa was never really a gentle type he was eccentric at best. She knew Tsukasa has a very adorable face, she's only seen that face contorted in a wicked smile, but this face was not evil not wicked or crazy. That face was a face of purity a purity that she would never have expected from him. Not after she learnt what he was capable of.

"Sakura, you can have them." Tsukasa shoved a barely touched plate into her direction. Sakura isn't the biggest fan of sweets, she takes the plate anyways. How could she not? She's not sure if he had figured out a new form of manipulation and if it was it was working fantastically.

She doesn't touch the plate either rather busying herself with her tea. Maybe a distraction from the ghost next to her. The silence is nice and calming.
