Chapter Text
At first, Val didn’t think much of it. It was only a little weight. But it didn’t go away.
He stared at himself in the mirror, growling. It was obvious. So obvious. Sure, he could still wear his clothes, but that wasn’t the point. Disgusting. What the fuck had he eaten which had decided to stick to his ribs so much?
Well, not really his ribs, per se. It sat lower on his frame. A fucking gut fat. No one would want to fuck this. It didn’t look well on him. Fat could look good on some sluts. There was a whole genre for bigger porn stars. But not everyone could work it.
Val could work everything, but not this. He didn’t want this. There was something screaming in the back of his head.
Snarling, he broke the mirror. Shards flew everywhere, cutting through his knuckles. It didn’t matter. It was limited damage. Damage which would be healed before long. All that mattered was this had to go.
He called for Kitty to fix the mess and got dressed. It was chilly anyway. Val could get away with some layers around his middle. At least his legs were as delicious as ever.
It was still there.
Val could only think about it, while Vox droned on and Velvette made the occasional comment during their meeting. The smell of the food in the centre of the table made his stomach churn. He was hungry, but he couldn’t be. If he was actually hungry, he wouldn’t have been holding onto this weight.
“Are you paying attention at all?” Vox demanded.
Val leered at him. “Not at all.”
Vox grimaced. “Come on. Even you’re better than that.”
“You haven’t even touched your favourites.” Velvette pushed forward a bowl of chips. Hot and salty and… and…
Val’s antennae shot forward. He wanted it. He wanted it so bad. His stomach protested, much like the rest of him.
“Val? Val!”
He managed not to teeter on his heels as he left the room. Val made it to the bathroom and tried to throw up, but nothing came out. Even when he tried to force it.
“What the fuck?” Velvette said from the doorway. “You sick?”
“What do you think?” Val snapped at her as he finally got some bile out of his mouth. It wasn’t a lot and it dribbled more on the toilet seat than it did into the bowl.
A towel manifested next to him. “Have you been eating? You’re not feeling well because you’re hungry, you twat.”
Val wiped off his face. “I’m not hungry.”
“You are. Fuck, have you gained weight? You’re always like this.”
Val raised himself to his full height and snarled at her. His wings spread out in an instinctual bid to look even bigger. Velvette did not flinch, reaching up to poke him in the stomach.
It crippled him. Val’s wings dropped and his lower arms wrapped around his stomach.
“Fine. No crisps. I’ll put you on the diet my skinnier models are on. That good enough?”
It was better than Vox’s usual methods when this happened. It wasn’t like Val didn’t know he shouldn’t be doing this. He knew. “Fine!”
“Good. I’ll tell Vox you are a bit under the weather and that’s all.”
His antennae drooped. “…thank you, babydoll.”
“Stop being stupid,” she responded.
Val threw the towel at her, but it was fabric. She circumvented it entirely.
It wasn’t working. If anything, Velvette’s diet had made him bigger.
“Come on, Val…”
Val shoved Vox back, as much as he hated to. It had been weeks since they’d had sex and Val wanted some release. As it was, he took out his cravings on his sluts when they were high out of his mind and couldn’t tell how fat he was.
“Something’s been bothering you and wrecking shop on other people hasn’t been helping.” Vox’s hands returned to Val’s lower shoulders, rubbing.
It felt nice. Too nice. It was annoying. “You’re bothering me now.”
Regardless, he leaned back into Vox’s hands as they went lower on his back. Val had tried to sink into the couch, but ended up leaning forward to give Vox more to reach. A chirp escaped him as Vox hit a spot which had been more sore than he’d previously realized.
Maybe he could fuck Vox without Vox noticing. Val wanted something satisfying. Nothing had been satisfying and it couldn’t just be because of the fat, right? Val would give anything to be back to normal.
Vox’s arms wrapped around him.
Val’s wings extended and flung him away.
Vox turned into electricity and managed not to make contact with the wall. “What the fuck?”
“I said I wasn’t in the mood!”
“And I can tell that’s a fucking lie? Is it because of the weight gain?”
Val froze. More bile bubbled up into his throat. Vox knew. He had noticed. Well of course he had noticed. How the fuck had Val thought Vox wouldn’t? He noticed almost everything. Not some of the things Val wanted him to notice, but always the things Val didn’t want him to.
“What… weight gain?” Val snarled.
Vox frowned, narrowing his eyes. “Val.”
Val growled.
“You’re beautiful.”
“I’m fucking not!” Val shrieked, grabbing the first thing he could reach and chucking it at him. “I’m going to kill you!”
Or fuck him, which was always more likely than him killing Vox. He couldn’t kill Vox. That had never been in question. But he could slam Vox into the ground and start ripping the clothes from his body. Kiss him. Vox kissed him back, because of course he had said that to get Val so angry that they would be fucking. That was the only reason to say it, because it wasn’t true. Vox would know it wasn’t true.
At some point, while riding Vox’s cock, Val heard Velvette screaming something in irritation, but he ignored her and her slamming a door. The sex felt good. Vox was scratching an itch deep inside of him, something none of the whores had reached.
Vox’s hands kept returning to his stomach. Val got tired of pulling them off and let them be. He wasn’t crying either. He was angry. Furious. How fucking dare he?
Somehow Val came before Vox. He hadn’t even meant to do that. It caught him off guard.
Vox didn’t even turn him over to chase after his own release. He pulled Val down by the ruff and kissed him again. Val squeaked again, more confused than anything.
“Shall we get you a check up? Maybe something else is going on.”
Vox had a great idea. Except it wasn’t what Vox had said that was the good idea. “Oh,” said Val. “I can fix it.”
Vox wrapped his arms around him tightly, eyes narrowing. “You are not killing yourself for weight loss, Val.”
“I can do whatever I want!”
“I’ll tell Velvette to ignore your branch entirely. We’ll let it fall apart until you come back.”
“No you won’t! You wouldn’t dare let my studio fall apart while I’m gone! Wouldn’t let us lose money, wouldn’t let our image get tampered!”
“Just watch me!” Vox snapped, his voice muffled as his face pressed into Val’s fur. “I’ll fucking do it. I also won’t move you. You can reconstitute here in the middle of the floor!”
“Whatever! It’s not like anyone else could get to me in the penthouse!”
“I’ll fucking let Angel Dust go while I’m holding onto your stupid contracts! And then I’ll kill him with an angelic bullet from one of your guns!”
Val froze and managed to tilt Vox’s head back so he could look at his face. “You wouldn’t.”
“Test it, Val. Just test me.”
A hiccough also surprised Val. He wasn’t crying. He wasn’t! He was angry and this was sweat or cum or whatever and it didn’t fucking matter.
“I’ll check you over myself,” Vox said, as though it was settled.
Val couldn’t say he liked how it was settled. He laid out on the chair, reclined all the way, and shifting uncomfortably. Vox was on his third scan. Val knew Vox’s scanning had started improving on pure flesh, considering how often he liked scanning Val. It no longer simply worked for Vox’s biotech, but Velvette’s doll anatomy and Val’s flesh.
Vox scanning him three times said there was something wrong. Something was wrong with him. Maybe Vox would agree that killing himself was easier than going through this. He wasn’t getting fat, he was getting sick. Maybe some horrible growth.
It was all easier than getting fat.
The chair came back up. Val blinked. Vox sat down next to him with an unreadable expression.
“What is it?” Val grumbled. “Can you cut it out or whatever?”
“Yeah,” Vox said, voice choked up. “That can be done.”
Choked up. Choked up? “You’re freaking me out,” Val admitted. “What’s going on?”
Vox gestured to one of the screen. Val turned his attention to it. It was big enough for him to see, but it didn’t stop him from being unable to parse what he was looking at. It was imaging, not text or numbers. Shapes and nonsense.
“Vox, I have no idea what that is.” Hands slowly ran over his stomach again. Instead of wanting to throw Vox off, Val froze. He couldn’t figure out what this was about, but… It was starting to scare him. “Voxy?”
“They’re eggs.”
Val tore his eyes from one screen to another. Vox’s face. “What?”
“It isn’t fat. These are eggs. You are growing eggs.”
Vox’s voice got quieter and quieter. Val stared, then laughed. “What? Really?”
The nod was it.
“Well, if that’s all!” Eggs? That was weird, but he could deal with eggs. “What the fuck did I get into that would cause that? Weird.” Val stretched out. “I guess I can hold onto them until they come out. They better not come out of my dicks if they’re that big. Can’t wait to bother Velvette about ass eggs!”
Vox made a strangled noise. “Val… something is growing in those eggs.”
“Well obviously!” Val poked the middle of Vox’s screen. “If there wasn’t, they wouldn’t be getting bigger!”
Shutting his eyes, Vox placed his hands on Val’s upper shoulders and squeezed before staring him in the face. “No, Val. I mean something alive. It’s not just eggs. You are pregnant.”
Val’s mirth vaished. “What? How? Don’t be stupid. That’s impossible.”
He waited for Vox to tell him he was joking. Or something.
Val waited.
Well, fuck.
