Eddie couldn't sleep.
He hears Father Brian's voice in his head: Eddie, you're still choosing water.
Lying in his bed, awake, he realizes going on a date with a celibate priest was a safe way to explore these new feelings.
Feelings about men.
About wanting to, maybe, date men.
Remembering the way his heart sped up when the priest held his hand…
OK, not maybe.
Definitely.
Men weren't an option he'd ever considered.
Not until Buck came out to him.
And even then, he'd dismissed it.
But seeing Buck and Tommy together—
He saw how things could work with a man.
Where he could begin—
All Eddie knew, is he couldn't keep choosing water when he wanted juice.
