Chapter 1: Best

Summary:

to david

Chapter Text

as I came to be of presence

we are echoes from separate mountains

i lean to delight and amusement

while thy sought to tone and tranquility

a rebel, a scholar, a contender

a stickler, a virtuoso, a stoic

a day finding itself in its ends

a line straight as a circle

what I thought have I thought to be

had always been what I did not see

from battles, at quests, in misery

from victories, at reveling, in ecstasy

a solid thread woven into the tapestry

along with enduring candor and integrity

imparting wisdom propelling growth

coursing through cities and roads

unwinding, lost in the bleak midnight

in stillness, accepting the silent twilight

by observing the written down history

evidently, the anchor in my journey

Chapter 2: Lesson of Death

Summary:

to dad, to driver, to helper

Chapter Text

three deaths in the span of three years
three causes from unfortunate sources
three faults of which hath made
three counts of thy mistakes

once was ignorant
another was stubborn
recently was prideful
three deaths caused by three traits

three goals originally made
one is for love
one is for work
one is for health

three goals are the root of three deaths
first was the satisfaction of giving dissatisfaction
second was selfishness of the time to be spent
third was the arrogance of superiority

three people who enriched my life
three people who always understood
three people i denied of assistance
three people i treated indifferently

three lessons of which i strive to learn
one was to help those who matter
two was to give time to others without exchange
three was to understand one's situation

three lessons i’m still trying to learn
three lessons of which i am falling behind
three lessons to live a righteous life
three lessons when will i absorb

i am guilty of non participation
i am guilty of avoidance
i am guilty of selfishness
i am guilty of being inhumane

i have regretted deeply
i am powerless to undo the past
i wish to atone
but the time has gone

Chapter 3: of the beautiful Jackie

Summary:

(based on Edgar Allan Poe’s Annabel Lee)
to jayme

Chapter Text

it was years and years ago

in a modest university

that a collegiate lass had been

by the name of Jackie

and this student was to be a good ally

to aid and to be of service

those silly eyes from the pun hath made

in a class of this simple school

created a heart full of love

from me to my beautiful Jackie

with a love that passes each tick

is a thought i thought id never see

and this was the reason that, long ago

in a modest university

thy heart beating warm and fast, undoubtedly

my beautiful Jackie

timing and opportunity

i believe i did the best

but boring her away might have lost her interest

in a class of this simple school

thy kin were not half so happy

myself even so went envying of the loss

indeed, that was a canon event

inevitable to see and impossible to be

but my love was stronger than the love given

by those listed that mattered

of many far wiser than me

to acquire beauty closer to me

from the ones that i see to be

is not close to that of the beautiful Jackie

Chapter 4: Guts

Summary:

to gym

Chapter Text

one pop, two pop, three pop, fourth stops
I will, I can, I know, I did
rocks got me stopping now and then
resuming as green goes for two

could say that I got nine bars out
which had me hoping the next eight

one pop, two pop, three pop, fourth stops
I sought, I set, I should, I cant
got no reason with nothing left
all seemed bleak in that empty room

not news as barrels rolled by
unveiling a new path ahead

three pop, two pop, one pop, no stops
I know, I can, I must, I do
with rocks, with grass, as knowledge fails
no matter what, I will zero

Chapter 5: Rekindled Mystery

Summary:

to sejin

Chapter Text

born from the world with duties
my thoughts had to be realistic
numbers were my faith, yielding the truth
certainty was my anchor, my steadfast view

from down under, I see this shining bubble
odd and true but which is new
from the shadows whence I came
shared a light that started a flame

the world is explained by truth and science
though the mind remains to defy these proofs
sometimes belief is more than just an illusion
it has brought out a hopeful expectation

Chapter 6: Cool Shoes

Summary:

to rebecca

Chapter Text

A century's wait, suddenly a flash of light,
A destiny's call, a wondrous, new sight.
A reverse Cinderella, I can see pure and bright,
A smile that radiates, a heart filled with delight.

A plan has been forged, for a future, entwined,
Your love, yet uncertain, your heart, undefined.
My chance, fleeting moments, an opportunity, hard to find.
A question lingers, a doubt, a troubled mind.

Has passion ignited, or cooled to a spark?
Awaiting your opening, my love lost in the dark.

Chapter 7: One-Way Mirror

Summary:

to rebecca

Chapter Text

every box a mark complete
each with its own meaning
every flag, raised so neat
formed a life worth dreaming

believing in what fate creates
the puzzle solved, the picture clear
a journey shaped by life's debates
a love destined to draw my dear

soon as it has been chased
it seems to further slip away
attempted to confront but fazed
as the truth displayed astray

in the end, no room for regret
each chance with no debt unmet

revealing flaws through trials proved
a person to build, refine, and improve

Chapter 8: The Nest

Summary:

to vic-amb fam

Chapter Text

how does one leave the nest

do you study for years

be employed for a living

find a girl you'll court, just then

what about your past

what about your downfalls

what about your shortcomings

who was there from day one

would you be able to live for your own

for your profit and earnings

for your success and victories

will you reap what many sowed

in me own ways relative to life

I have reached rock bottom

in career and life, being for naught

I may have reached my journey's end

in those dark days, I was acknowldged

supported in every capable way

rose back up with the help of the nest

only then did I realize

it's not about leaving the nest,

it's about building it

Chapter 9: blackbox

Summary:

to nicole

Chapter Text

In the hall of dreams, a stranger's guise,

A setting, beneath foreign skies.

The city woke when the moon began to creep,

And nightlife pulsed, secrets for souls to keep.

A corner shadowed, then a flash, a gaze,

Her eyes met mine through the electric haze.

We spoke, we laughed, seems to fade on our own.

A current, from which is visibly known.

Three suns had turned, the thread I cast,

Into her inbox, hoping it would last.

The exchange was impeccable as it flew,

Our chemistry bloomed, fulfilling every dew.

The words grew bolder, boundaries closer,

Definitely a potential I see with her.

Instinctively a risk, a choice to be made,

A misstep, miscue, wrongly behaved.

The flow of the river began to run dry,

The light of the sun don't reach the sky.

Her presence vanished, all interest undone.

I thought we'd go long, but it wasn't even a run.

A moment lost, from uncountable errors.

Each setting sun, is my hall of mirrors.

Chapter 10: dattebayo

Summary:

to guile

Chapter Text

A new face graced our office floor,

A fierce and quirky presence, knocking at the door

Then whispers followed, hushed and swiftly spread,

Of richer schooling, and the anime in her head.

A doorway moment, unexpected, brief,

Where paths converged, offering kind relief

From inquiries with her, a curious gaze,

Mine, an open hand through proper ways.

The year spun onward, onto winter's chill,

And common threads began to softly fill

The digital string between us, strongly vibed.

Our platforms merged, mixed, subscribed.

Through pixelated worlds and whispered lore,

Of games, themes, and anime we adored,

A friendship bloomed, an unexpected shift,

Two kindred spirits, finding common rift.

In fair rhythms, quiet, steady care,

"How you doing?" a question I would dare.

Until the day it arrived, obviously unseen,

As she whispered, "Time to leave this scene."

No long goodbyes, just paths that gently part,

A bittersweet pulse within my heart.

And then, a card, a simple, hidden plea,

"Good luck," it hinted, "beyond your journey's end with me."
