As with most International students at South Central University they all chose Western names. Jongin chose Julian. Sehun, who decided to keep his Korean name, kept telling everyone that Jongin was Royalty.
People would aww and be impressed until Sehun would snicker and say that Jongin was a King from Madagascar.
Despite this almost daily joke the two remained best friends.
Sehun and Jongin were sitting at the back of the vintage van studying for their English quiz the uni shared spaces were littered with vintage vans, busses and cars
“So, I read is pronounced like the colour red and to read is like the plant reed ? Wait what’s a reed? A tall aquatic grass. Jonginnie, does any of this make any sense to ya?”
Jongin smiled at and switched off his phone and slid it back into his pocket after confirming to meet with Kyungsoo at his off campus apartment. He was saved under Richard in Jongin's contact book.
“You know what I don't understand…” Sehun exclaimed
“A lot of things?” Jongin asked innocently
“Haha,” Sehun scowled, “listen I understand how you get Maggie from Margaret and Rob from Robert but how do you get Dick from Richard?”
Sehun was truly perplexed, Western names were so weird! Ed was Edward, Gor was Gordon but like Peggy from Margaret what was that?!
Jongin smiled coyly, And tucked some hair behind his ear, “from experience…”
“Yeah?” Sehun encouraged his friend to explain the mystery of Western names to him, Jongin was close to Kyungsoo who knew everything after all!
“I'd say you ask him nicely.”
