What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him

Summary:

Toddallace Week 2025

Day2) Jealousy

Todd snaps and tried to hurt Mobile

Work Text:

Mobile blinked slowly as he opened his eyes. He tried to move only to realize he couldn't. He looked around erratically, he was stuck in a dark empty room, he was tied to a chair, and a man was standing just out of eyesight behind him.

Mobile tried to use his psychic powers but the moment he tried to activate them, he could feel a pressure squeeze the air out of his lungs.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. We wouldn’t want this to end too soon.” The man spoke in a gruff, raspy voice.

“Who is there? And what is going on?” Mobile asked, trying to keep his voice level despite his nerves.

The same pressure enveloped Mobile’s body, lifting him off the ground and turning him towards the man in the shadows.

The green aura that surrounded the man showed Mobile who he was. His tall, muscular build, platinum blonde hair, and his glowing green eyes.

“Todd Ingram?” Mobile asked, extremely confused. What did the former bassist of a disbanded punk rock band want with him?

Todd chuckled, but it was a cold, hollow sound. “Bet you never expect to see me, huh, Replacement?”

“Replacement? What are you talking about?” Mobile’s voice raised as he looked at the crazy man right in front of him.

Todd tilted his head irregularly as he pulled Mobile towards himself. “Don’t pretend you don’t know, Homewrecker.”

Mobile could feel sweat beginning to form on his forehead. Alright Mobile, stay calm. Analyze the situation and understand what he is upset about.

“I am sorry, but I do not understand what you are talking about. I am sorry if I hurt you or if I took something from you.” Mobile kept his voice steady and self-assured.

Todd’s eyes had a blank glaze to them as he stared at Mobile.

“Wallace.” Todd rumbled.

“What?” Mobile asked, why was Todd bringing up Wallace, his boyfriend.

Todd brought Mobile close, their faces an inch apart. “You took Wallace from me.”

Mobile’s eyes widened slightly as he tried to hide his fear. He remembered Wallace mentioning he had starred in a movie that went unfinished, as well as he had a hot costar in that movie that he slept with for three days straight. Wallace was flippant with the details that Mobile never even considered that his hookup was Todd Ingram.

Todd raised his hand and ever so slowly nearly closed his hand, leaving just a bit open. At the same time, Mobile could feel his bones beginning to grind against each other, his throat beginning to close, and his heart’s beat slowing to a crawl.

“I could kill you. Crush you to a pulp. No one would ever find your body since there would be nothing left by paste. Wallace would never know. I could sweep in and comfort him. And I would never let him go. Give me one reason why I shouldn’t make that a reality.”

If Mobile wasn’t being consumed by pain, he would have been horrified by his cold nonchalance. Mobile wasn’t liking his chances, but he had to find some way to reason with Todd before he made good on his word.

“Todd, I understand that you are upset about how Wallace ended your relationship, but this is not the way to go about it. You are only going to hurt Wallace and yourself in the long run. What if Wallace finds out one day, what are going to do if he wants to leave? Are you going to force him to stay?” Mobile grit his teeth as he felt his left arm close to breaking.

Todd scoffed lifelessly. “I love Wallace, we are meant to be together forever, he would never leave me. We had Sparks.”

“So did Wallace and I. Does that make our love any less valid than yours?” Mobile pushed, and he could see Todd’s face twitch a bit. Hopefully, he is getting to him.

“He made me better, I feel good about myself because of him. I can’t lose him again.” Todd’s voice wavered.

“Do you feel about yourself now? You are about to murder a man who had nothing to do with your breakup and manipulate the man you claim to love to keep him all to yourself. Is that really love anymore?” It was a gamble, Mobile knew, but he saw in Todd’s eyes that he was beginning to doubt himself and his plan.

Todd grimaced as he glared at Mobile, finally showing some emotion, even if they were negative. “Why? I don’t understand. Why?! Why did he leave me?!?! WHY DID HE CHOOSE YOU OVER ME?!?!?! I COULD HAVE GIVEN HIM EVERYTHING!!!!!!”

Mobile looked at Todd with sympathy and pity. Sparks have a habit of poisoning a person’s mind when they are unrequited. He had never seen a case like this though. “I don’t know, Todd. The only one who can tell you that is Wallace. However, I can say with certainty that he would never want this. Stop this before you become someone Wallace would hate instead of love.”

Todd glared at Mobile with fire in his eyes, and for a moment he looked like he was going through with it anyway, but then Mobile dropped to the ground and the ropes untied themselves, setting Mobile free. Todd silently walked to a corner of the room and sank down into the fetal position. “Leave.”

Mobile considered walking over to comfort the bigger man, but he didn’t want to push his luck. “I will not tell Wallace about this. However, I think you should talk with Wallace if only to get closure.”

“Just go. Before I do something I regret.” Todd mumbled, voice shaking with tears.

Mobile nodded sadly as he made his way out of the room he was in, finding himself in a warehouse on the outskirts of Toronto if he had to guess. Taking one last look back at the sobbing man, Mobile walked away and grabbed his phone, which he found on a nearby table.

He had a few missed calls from Wallace, which warmed his heart and broke it as well. Pushing the call button, Mobile continued waiting as he waited for Wallace to answer.

“Wallace, hello. There is something we need to talk about.”
