Work Text:
Marcus walked into the Great Hall with Adrian and Hugh and winced only a few steps in when he felt eyes boring into him. He desperately tried to avoid looking back at those eyes as he approached the Slytherin table and sat down.
Part of him wanted to sit with his back to those eyes so that he didn't have to risk looking at him, but he couldn't stop himself from sitting facing the rest of the hall and risking the chance of getting to look at the owner of those eyes, when he wasn't looking at him, of course.
Adrian and Hugh sat down on either side of him, normally one of them at least would sit opposite, but they had been sitting on either side of him since the revelation had come out. He would have liked to have believed that it was because they were being supportive of him, staying right next to him.
But it was for the amusement.
He couldn't stop himself from chancing a glance up, and sure enough, the moment he raised his head and looked in the direction that he knew the other would be in, those green eyes locked onto him, narrowing even further into the glare they were giving him. Enough that he gulped and looked down to start filling his plate.
"I never thought, in a million years, that this would happen when you finally announced he was your mate," Adrian said next to him, shoving a cup of coffee at Marcus.
The Flint family were part of the Sacred 28, and as with most of the families belonging to the Sacred 28, he had some Magical Being blood in him. The blood skipped generations for each family, and it reacted differently in those that it did manifest itself in, there were some of the Sacred who had mixed too much with Muggleborns and so had seemingly lost the blood within their families.
There hadn't been a manifestation in the Flint family in nearly four generations of their Dragon blood, and there had been worry that it had faded out, normally it manifested every 2-3 generations at the most. But Marcus had started showing signs of it when he was 5, and when he was 11 the hopes of the family were proven right, and he manifested. He hadn't been sure why he had been chosen out of his family, why he had been gifted.
Now he thought he did.
When Harry Potter had turned up at Hogwarts the year after Marcus, Marcus had known.
Harry Potter was his mate.
He had been a little confused because everything in him was telling him that Harry was also of Being blood, but there were no signs of it in Harry. Marcus showed signs, mainly in his temper, and it took a lot to keep his temper when he heard the rumours about him being from Troll blood. The insult to a member of the Sacred 28 who hadn't had a manifestation in a generation or two was an old one but a good one, and it frustrated him. Mixed into that frustration was the fact that his mate was here but…
But there were no signs in Harry, and over the two years from when he joined the school, there were no signs at all, absolutely nothing. Marcus watched for them, confused, and lost as to what to say to the other. He had no clue if Harry would even listen to him or just run away screaming and firing curses without his own pull towards Marcus.
Finally though, finally, he had come back for his fifth year, and it had been there, Marcus had seen it, and he had finally had the answer to his worry that fate had screwed him over. He had felt the crushing feeling of guilt almost right away when he realised that for some reason everything that Harry had gone through in the Graveyard had triggered his Being blood that had been held back for some reason.
Marcus had felt horrible for Harry and everything that he was going through. He had tried to stop as many of the attacks on Harry by other students as he could, he had managed to stop a number of Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff from spewing hate and disbelief at Harry, and he had been desperate to approach him to try and help him, but Harry had looked so stressed and so distressed that he didn't want to add to that, even though his Dragon side was screaming at him that being with Harry, comforting him, supporting him would help him through what was going on.
He had hesitated and carried on trying to help from the sidelines, and finally, he had managed to appease his being side from ripping him apart by focusing on Umbridge and making sure that she was kicked out of the School and away from where she could hurt Harry, all with his Father and Mother's help of course.
Harry managing to kill Voldemort last year had held Marcus back yet again, he had managed to defeat him in front of a host of Ministry workers at the Ministry of Magic, and a couple of reporters who had been able to photograph the whole thing. And the papers were full of the Hero of the Wizarding World, Harry was the star of the moment, the darling of the Wizarding World, and Marcus had no clue how to approach him.
He had spent the summer moping, knowing that this was going to be his last year to be able to tell Harry, he had spent the whole summer trying to come up with a way to tell him, a way to even just start conversations with him that could lead to him telling him, and he had spent the whole summer telling himself that none of that would work.
He had been moping as he walked into the Great Hall, probably looking utterly terrifying as he scowled to himself and called himself an absolute idiot for waiting as long as he did, the longer he had left it, the harder it had become.
"You!" Harry's voice echoed around the hall, and Marcus had looked up, concerned for his mate, but also desperate to see his mate.
Only to find said mate storming towards him. His eyes had widened as he watched Harry storming towards him, and then he spluttered when Harry neatly went up on his toes and snatched Marcus' ear in a punishing hold before yanking him back out the hall.
"Erm…" Adrian and Hugh had stared after them utterly bemused, they were the only ones besides Marcus' mum, dad and grandparents that knew who Harry was to him.
Harry dragged him a little away from the hall and down a corridor that allowed them a little privacy before releasing Marcus' ear, taking a couple of steps away from him, and then spinning around, slamming his hands to his hips and glaring so fiercely at Marcus that the other was surprised that he had not burst into flames.
"You're my mate," Harry had said coldly.
"Yes," Marcus had breathed out, his heart thundering in his chest and cold fear settling over him. This was it, Harry was going to reject him, he was going to tell him that he wouldn't want to interact with someone like Marcus.
"How long have you known?" Harry hissed, poking Marcus in the chest repeatedly with his finger.
"Since…since I saw you, first year, your first year," Marcus stammered, trying to ignore the way his skin felt as though it were on fire where Harry was still poking him through his shirt.
"You have known this whole time?" Harry narrowed his eyes.
"Yes," Marcus nodded.
"Why didn't you say anything?" Harry now gripped Marcus' robes in a tight fist.
"I…I…I didn't know if you would want to be with a Slytherin, with a Dark wizard, I didn't know if you would listen to me, I also…I knew that you were a Being, but then you weren't showing any signs of actually being a…being and that confused me, and…" Marcus stopped when Harry fisted his robes in both hands and tugged him down so that he could glare him in the eyes.
"I hate people keeping things from me!" Harry hissed.
"I am sorry…I was confused at first and had no clue how to approach you, and the longer it went on the harder it became, and the more excuses I supplied myself for not telling you because I was scared you would reject me," Marcus sighed.
"I am not rejecting you," Harry said firmly, and Marcus perked up a little. "I am furious at you!" he added.
"I am sorry!" Marcus apologised.
"What are you?" Harry asked.
"Dragon….you?" Marcus asked hesitantly.
"Some form of Snake, I am not a Naga but something similar," Harry released Marcus to his disappointment, but he was happy to see that Harry didn't step away from him.
He was still glaring at him though.
"What…where do you want to go from here?" Marcus asked hesitantly.
"We are going to court each other correctly!" Harry demanded more than anything else.
"Yes!" Marcus nodded quickly.
"Marcus…" Harry said softening a little. "I don't like people lying or keeping things from me,"
"I won't ever again!" Marcus shook his head.
"Or doing things for my own good," Harry added.
"I wouldn't, I won't," Marcus promised.
"Court me then!" Harry huffed, seeming to remember he was annoyed before spinning on his heel and heading back to the Great Hall leaving Marcus to grin to himself and hurry after his mate, his mate who was giving him a chance, his mate who wanted him to court him!
And so had begun their Courting of each other.
The last week had been full of exchanges being made between the two of them in the Courting, though from the glares he was still receiving from Harry, he still had a little work to do.
His gifts also showed this sometimes.
Adrian pushing the coffee to him was proof of this.
In front of Marcus was his favourite breakfast, something that he knew Harry had cooked for him in the Hogwarts kitchens himself, it smelt amazing as the other times Harry had made meals for him had. His coffee was perfectly made, exactly as he liked it, and it had the perfect top of froth on the coffee, the art on top of the froth in chocolate powder made a perfect heart, and in the centre of the heart was the perfect shape of a hand with the middle finger held up.
Marcus blinked and then burst out laughing.
Everyone seated around him shifted looking uncomfortably at the Flint heir, stunned to see him laughing, and so freely.
They were all already freaked out enough by the fact that Harry and Marcus were mates, something that Harry had announced in the Hall the day after their conversation.
Marcus was sure that even if they hadn't been mates he would have fallen utterly in love with Harry there and then when Harry had glowered around the hall, challenging anyone to say anything.
Adrian and Hugh had hidden their laughter at the way Marcus had stared at Harry with what they described as hearts in his eyes when Harry had announced Marcus was his.
Marcus looked over and found Harry's glare had softened and there was a small smile on his lips faced with Marcus' amusement at his gift.
Marcus was in love.
"Harry?!" Marcus frowned as he hurried over to the other teen where he was standing bundled up and frowning. He floundered a little when Harry turned and threw himself into his arms, practically burying himself into the taller teen's body. Marcus quickly wrapped his arms around Harry, holding him tightly to himself.
It was the closest that Harry had been to him since the night that he had captured Marcus around the ear, and Marcus definitely wasn't going to miss taking the chance to hold his mate. Harry seemed to slot perfectly against him, he knew Adrian and Hugh would laugh at him for thinking this way, but he didn't care, it was like they fit together like puzzle pieces, his head slotted perfectly under Marcus' chin so that he could rest it there, but instead he buried his nose into Harry's wild, soft dark hair and breathed in his scent.
His own larger arms and body were able to wrap perfectly around Harry and hold him to his chest, something that Harry seemed to appreciate if the soft noise that he let out indicated, and he seemed to try to bury himself deeper into the hug. Marcus frowned a little as the initial excitement and joy at having Harry in his arms passed and the background scent of Harry's emotion penetrated through.
"Harry, you smell distressed," Marcus frowned tightening his arms, and then to his horror the scent got stronger and Harry let out a soft sob.
"Marcus," Harry sounded hurt and all Marcus' protective instincts flared at the pain in his voice. He bundled Harry closer to him and managed to get the two of them down the corridor and into a classroom further down the dungeon.
Once they were in the classroom Marcus shut and warded the door before tugging Harry against him again, rubbing his hand up and down his back over the thick woolen cloak he had bought for Harry as a courting gift when he realised that Harry's snake blood meant that he felt the cold during the oncoming winter a little more. He pushed back the slightly happy thought that Harry had clearly liked his gift, and instead slipped his hand under it so he could rub his hand over Harry's robe clad back.
"Harry?" Marcus asked a few moments later once Harry stopped crying but didn't seem to have any desire to move from Marcus.
"I was talking to Hermione and Ron," Harry said softly after a few moments, long enough that Marcus thought he wasn't going to answer.
"Ok?" Marcus asked hesitantly. The two of them hadn't seemed to be against Marcus, but they hadn't seemed supportive either if some of their glares had been anything to go by, though that could have been in reaction to Harry's displeasure that he had not told him they were mates.
"I…" Harry sniffed again as he looked up with teary green eyes and there was no way that Marcus could have stopped his wings from snapping out even if he had wanted to try. As it was he had his mate close, seeking comfort from him while clearly distressed, and looking at him with those teary green eyes. Everything in Marcus told him to protect Harry however he could, and he wasn't going to ignore them.
Harry gasped awed, jerking back just a little, but Marcus was happy to see that his mate kept his arms wrapped tightly around his waist even as his wide green eyes took in Marcus' blood-red wings.
Feeling a little proud at the wide eyed look his mate was giving his wings Marcus flared them a little wider for full perusal before wrapping them around himself and Harry, cocooning them in the safety of his wings.
"They're beautiful," Harry breathed out, reaching out to run a finger along the soft membrane of Marcus's wing.
"I know that I am not very good looking, but I am proud of them," Marcus said and then froze when furious green eyes turned to him.
"Pardon?" Harry said lowly, dangerously.
"I am not sure what part of that pissed you off," Marcus admitted after a few moments of blinking at each other.
"What do you mean you're not good looking! You're good looking!" Harry protested venomously.
"I am not," Marcus said a little amused.
"Yes, you are!" Harry glared darker now. "You're good looking! You have amazing blue eyes, and you're strong and have an amazing body, your jaw is sharp enough to cut things on, and your nose is perfectly shaped for your face," Harry started to list.
"Harry…" Marcus blinked down at him, not seeing a trace of a lie.
"You're handsome!" Harry said with heat, reaching up and cupping Marcus' face.
"Harry, I think you might be the only one who thinks that," Marcus said amused.
"Well they're prejudiced idiots, and I am your mate, so my opinion is the only one that matters!" Harry's burning green eyes scanned over Marcus' face with no sign of disgust.
"That is true, I don't care what anyone but you sees," Marcus hummed and watched delightedly as a red blush spread over Harry's cheeks. "What happened?" he asked concernedly, tightening his wings around them.
"I was talking to Hermione and Ron," Harry said again, glancing down at Marcus' chest, and the Slytherin fought the urge to say he had already said that as the concern built in his chest. "I realised…you're going to be leaving at the end of this year,"
"Harry," Marcus said softly at the misery in his mate's voice.
"I have been wasting time, and what will happen next year when I am at school and when you are not and…" Harry gasped when Marcus gently pressed their lips together, just a touching of lips, but as Marcus had hoped it calmed Harry down and had him sinking into Marcus.
"You haven't been wasting time, we have been courting each other and getting to know each other, we have the rest of our lives together," Marcus said softly brushing his lips over Harry's cheek. "As to what happens next year, if you would like, this summer we can look at finding a house together, we will get it set up together, and I will live there next year while working on my rune scholarship, and you can come home for holidays, we can request weekends if that is what you want, we would be allowed as Mates and you being of age, and then when the year is done you can come home and we take our lives from there,"
Marcus watched nervously as Harry blinked big green eyes at him for a moment, but then a happy little smile swept across his face, and he burrowed a little more into Marcus, clearly happy with the idea Marcus had painted for him.
"I…what type of house were you thinking?" Harry asked softly.
"Hmm, something spacious but not too big, maybe three stories, a couple of decently sized reception rooms for when we have family or friends around, a cosy living room for just the two of us, a kitchen - the kitchen of your dreams as you seem to like cooking - a dinning room, a small library and an office for me and one for you if you would want one. Somewhere with a large garden," Marcus reeled off and Harry stared at him.
"You have thought about it a lot," Harry said.
"Over the last few years," Marcus admitted sheepishly.
"That sounds…"
"Yes?" Marcus asked nervously.
"Perfect," Harry said with a growing smile. "Room for children?" Harry asked peeking under his eyelashes at Marcus.
"Yes! For when we're ready," Marcus nodded eagerly getting a giggle from Harry. "And we have more than enough time to get to know each other more this year," Marcus smiled kissing his cheek again.
"I want that," Harry stroked his fingers over Marcus' face. "I am so happy we're mates,"
"Me too, are you still frustrated with me?" Marcus asked nervously.
"I am finding myself less so, especially with how warm you are," Harry sighed contently snuggling even closer to him.
"Ah, you are planning on using me through the winter for my heat?" Marcus huffed but couldn't keep the serious expression on his face when Harry looked mischievously at him and pointedly snuggled closer. "Have you been keeping warm ok?" Marcus asked concerned.
"I have been, especially with the cloak," Harry hummed.
"I want to look after you," Marcus admitted running his nose over Harry's cheek.
"I want to be looked after," Harry admitted back before leaning up and capturing his mate's lips again, sighing happily into the kiss when Marcus cupped the back of his head, and pressed a little deeper into it, growling happily when Harry seemed to droop into his arms and against him getting a content little hiss back.
Adrian eagerly reached for the cup of coffee that appeared in front of them that morning and peered into it before grinning and nudging his friend good-naturedly. The coffee was as ever perfect for him, the froth a perfect layer of froth, and there was a little heart in chocolate powder along with a little thoughtful looking face this time in the centre of it.
Grinning Marcus looked over at Harry who was playfully glaring at him this time.
"Why is there so much food?" Hugh asked. "Even with your Dragon appetite you can't eat all this,"
"It is for you," Marcus grunted. "I told Harry how much you have supported me through worrying about how to tell him and through courting him. He said he wanted to make something for you too,"
Hugh and Adrian looked up to Harry and Marcus' little mate smiled shyly and wiggled his fingers at them. Ron and Hermione sitting on either side of him looked over at them, however instead of the faint glares that they had been sending him, the two of them had exasperated expressions on their faces.
Marcus had had an instinct for when Harry was anywhere near him for years now, part of it was his mating instincts, and the other was just the amazing aura that Harry gave off, he just gave off this presence that was purely him, and Marcus knew when he was near to him.
He looked up when he felt Harry walking into the Great Hall, and he watched Harry shudder a little in cold looking adorably grumpy even as his eyes scanned the Slytherin table before brightening when he saw Marcus. He waved a little before heading to the Gryffindor table.
"Come on," Marcus grunted after a moment standing and heading over to the other table.
"Well, this is going to be interesting!" Hugh grinned standing along with Adrian and they hurried after Marcus to the Gryffindor table.
"Marcus?" Harry said looking up surprised.
"You're cold," Marcus said concerned.
"Just a little, it is snowing," Harry said a little miserably.
"Here," Ron sighed put upon sliding further down the table, shoving some of the other Gryffindors further down while Hermione did the same on the opposite side of the table where Adrian and Hugh were standing.
"Thank you very much," Hugh smiled brightly at Hermione settling down next to her, Adrian on her other side and shot Neville a bright grin.
"You're too cold," Marcus swept his hand over Harry's face and frowned deeply at the chill that he felt there. Harry sighed happily when Marcus settled down next to him and wrapped his arm around his shoulders, the smaller teen shrugged even closer until he was practically sitting on top of Marcus as he soaked up the heat that was coming from the other suddenly.
"Are you controlling that?" Ron asked shocked tugging at the collar of his robes at the heat even he could feel sitting next to Marcus while snorting at his best friend who had himself almost draped over Marcus' lap.
"Yes, Dragons can control the levels of heat that they put out," Marcus nodded filling his and Harry's plates.
"It's so warm," Harry sighed happily looking blissed out.
"Eat something love," Marcus kissed his temple.
"You're pumping out heat mate!" Ron huffed stripping out his robes.
"It's so warm," Harry agreed happily reaching out to snag a few chips from Marcus' plate and shoving them in his mouth.
"We're meant for each other," Marcus said kissing Harry sweetly when Harry lifted his head. They parted and looked to the side at the noise Ron made.
"You're romantic!" Ron said with a growing grin on his face.
"You have no clue, we have listened to endless hours and him trying to work out the exact shade of green Harry's eyes are to make the comparison," Hugh said and then grunted when Marcus kicked him under the table.
"I did not invite you over here with me to snitch on me!" Marcus growled.
"What shade did you settle on?" Ron asked.
"I couldn't, they're like jade and grass on the mountains," Marcus said looking down at Harry, looking into those green eyes.
"That is…" Ron said.
"Ronald Weasley do not give in completely because he is being romantic!" Hermione rolled his eyes. "Honestly,"
"But…" Ron waved to Marcus.
"No, we need to be sensible and make sure that he has to grovel properly, Harry is already melting into him and more than happy using him as a space heater!" Hermione shook her head.
"What's a space heater?" Ron, Marcus, High, Adrian and Neville asked confused making Harry start to laugh.
"You have to be kidding! This was a joke! To wind Flint up!" Ernie McMillan shouted standing from his seat at the Hufflepuff table just down from where their group were sitting.
"Pardon?" Harry narrowed his eyes at the Hufflepuff and some of the others nodding around him.
"You were winding him up for him actually thinking that you would date a pureblood supremacist!" A Ravenclaw shouted.
Hermione reached out and tapped Hugh's hand when he opened his mouth and shook her head before nodding to Harry whose eyes were narrowed dangerously.
"I am fairly sure that I stood in this hall and announced that Marcus and I were mates, what part of that sounded like a joke?" Harry hissed.
"It has to be a joke! You can have anyone you want, why the fuck would you want that troll?!" Cho Chang sneered.
"Oh dear," Marcus heard Ron muttering but then Harry was on his feet and there were small green and silver scales taking over his cheeks and forehead, distinctively sharper canines and slightly slitted pupils.
"What did you just call my mate?! How dare you! Marcus is a Dragon, not a troll and the only reason you call him that is because you're jealous! Anyone that wants to say anything about Marcus and my relationship needs to remember that Marcus is MINE and I will not stand for anything bad being said about him, otherwise, they will be on the other end of my wand!"
It should have looked less threatening when Harry had his arms wrapped around Marcus' shoulders and seeing the difference in size between the two of them, however, everyone clearly remembered that this was the man that defeated Voldemort, and what being on the other end of his wand would mean.
"I…he…"
"Is MINE!" Harry repeated glowering around the hall.
"Mr Potter, please refrain from threatening the entirety of Hogwarts," Professor McGonagall sighed from the head table.
Harry huffed and dropped down to sit down, except this time he actually did drop himself down into Marcus' lap, snuggling back against him before to Marcus' amusement stuck his tongue out at Ernie, the forked tongue flicking before he pulled it back in.
"You didn't need to do that," Marcus said softly.
"Don't set him off again," Hermione snorted in amusement.
"Mine," Harry scowled at Marcus.
"Are you threatening me?" Marcus asked incredulously.
"I can see you thinking that they have a point!" Harry said and Adrian and Hugh tensed across from them. "No one talks bad about my mate! Not even himself, you're mine!" Harry hissed furiously even as he snuggled further back into Marcus, tugging the others arms so that he wrapped his arms around his waist.
"Don't look at us," Ron grinned.
"Don't you have some form of control over him?" Hugh asked curiously.
"We limit the damage," Hermione said primly before glaring when Harry and Ron started laughing. "Have something to say?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Polyjuice potion," Harry said and she started spluttering.
"Why did you brew polyjuice potion?" Marcus asked, and then felt panic building in him at the grin the three of them gave. "Harry, why were you brewing polyjuice potion?"
"When did you brew it?" Adrian asked.
"Second year," Ron whispered.
"What?!" The three Slytherins shouted gaining curious looks while Neville snickered into his goblet.
"Harry, please…tell me you're finished with all that," Marcus whined as though he were a crup and not a Dragon, dropping his forehead onto Harry's shoulder.
"Of course I am!" Harry patted the top of his head. "Most likely," he added, laughing brightly when Marcus groaned louder.
"Is Harry in there?" Ron asked curious, laughing when a hand stuck out of Marcus' enlarged cloak before a head popped out too.
"You're feeling the cold worse and worse Harry," Hermione said concerned as they came to a stop in front of Harry, Marcus, Adrian and Hugh.
"Not really," Harry shrugged.
"What?" Marcus looked down.
"I have been pretty uncomfortable with the cold for the last year and a bit since my inheritance, but I suffered through it. Now I have a super warm mate who pumps out heat, and who is all snuggly and hot in a whole different way, why wouldn't I want to snuggle my way through the winter?" Harry snorted.
"I never thought I would hear the term snuggle applied to Marcus Flint," Ron said amused, but there was only teasing on his face.
"He's very snuggly," Harry grinned happily.
"You're lucky you're cute," Marcus snapped his teeth by Harry's cheek before huffing happily when Harry turned and pressed their lips together.
"Oh!" Hermione gasped in awe when Marcus' wings flared out and wrapped around him and Harry.
She and Ron smiled when they realised the trust that they were being showed by the action, and the two of them smiled when Marcus' wings opened again and just settled comfortably behind him.
"Marcus!" Harry called out but his mate was already looking at him, he smiled a little when Harry carried on running and threw himself into his arms, jumping a little and wrapping his arms around his shoulders and his legs around his waist before cupping his face and pressing a kiss to his lips.
"What was that for?" Marcus smiled brightly when they parted.
"Congratulations on finishing your NEWTs," Harry said sweetly pressing another kiss to Marcus' lips.
"Do we get a kiss as well?" Hugh grinned fluttering his eyelashes.
"If you insist," Ron said before grabbing the other around the waist and dipping him before pressing a kiss to his lips and then setting him back on his feet.
"Got the temptation for your own Slytherin?" Harry asked amused.
"Just a little," Ron shrugged as Hugh blinked repeatedly at him.
"Hey, you can't just collect us like we're…" Hugh groaned and wrapped his arms around Ron's shoulders when the redhead tugged him against his larger body and kissed him again.
"I was worried I would have to go through another year of him pining," Marcus huffed amused looking at Harry.
"Ron is too impatient for that, especially when given that opening," Harry grinned. "I can't believe you're all done. Congratulations," Harry kissed him sweetly again.
"You don't even know that I have passed," Marcus chuckled.
"You will have, you're too clever not to have," Harry said with so much certainty that Marcus couldn't help but kiss him again.
"Finally," Hermione sighed reaching them and seeing Ron and Hugh still in a lip lock. She turned and smirked at Adrian who started to look more and more nervous.
"Oh, I am not, you're not…it is!" Adrian squeaked before huffing when Harry and Hermione started laughing.
"Don't worry, we know you're after Neville," Hermione shoved his shoulder gently.
"I have a surprise," Harry said to Marcus as Hermione and Adrian started bickering.
"For me?" Marcus blinked.
"No, for my other mate," Harry snorted.
"Harry," Marcus growled nipping Harry's neck before shaking his head when his incorrigible mate just shuddered happily in his arms.
"Meet me at the Room of Requirement at 18:00?" Harry asked.
"Of course," Marcus smiled pulling Harry in for another kiss.
"Someone had better have set off a love potion!" McGonagall said as she walked past breaking Harry and Marcus, and Ron and Hugh apart.
"100% Headmistress!" Harry said cheerfully.
"Honestly!" she sighed.
Marcus stared around the room in awe, it matched quite closely to what he and Harry had discussed what they wanted their dinning room to look like, it matched it near perfectly. And at the end of the room, Harry was standing casually wearing a simple green shirt and leggings, looking absolutely stunning.
"I cooked us something so that we can have something just the two of us," Harry took Marcus' hands and drew him into a sweet kiss that quickly turned hot as Marcus pulled harry against him, letting his wings out and drawing Harry closer against him with them as well.
"That sounds perfect," Marcus smiled at his beautiful mate.
"Come on," Harry drew him to the little round dinning table that Harry had placed the amazing smelling meal on.
"What is this?" Marcus asked curiously when Harry slipped some paperwork towards him when they were finishing up their dessert.
"I think I found it," Harry smiled and Marcus blinked before eagerly picking up the paperwork and leafing through it, as he had expected he found the information for a house. He and Harry had gotten in touch with an estate agent months ago and they had been going through paperwork on houses since then, they had even been able to get out of school on a weekend to go and look at a few houses when Harry had fluttered his eyelashes at Headmistress McGonagall, ignoring Hugh and Adrian's teasing that they had known he was her favourite.
They hadn't found anywhere yet though.
But the expression on Harry's face was hopeful, and Marcus prayed that he wouldn't hate the place, but as he flicked through the paperwork his eyes widened and he felt the excitement building in him.
"It needs a little work, and we would have to do a fair bit to get it to what we want," Harry said nervously.
"But it is perfect," Marcus said, looking up and smiling brightly at Harry.
"I booked a viewing for tomorrow for after we get off the train," Harry admitted and Marcus laughed pulling his mate in for a kiss.
"Our home, hopefully," Marcus smiled looking back at the papers as Harry slipped into his lap.
"Hopefully, and we can start our lives together properly," Harry rested his head on Marcus' shoulder. "I spoke to the Headmistress and all the paperwork is filed for me to come home on weekends as well next year,"
"Really?" Marcus tightened his arms around Harry's waist.
"It is going to be hell having to be away from you during the week, I am coming home to you on the weekend," Harry said firmly.
"And if this isn't our house? If we don't manage to find somewhere before the end of the summer?" Marcus asked concerned.
"When I say home I mean you, wherever you are is home, we could end up living in a shack and as long as you are there it will be home," Harry cupped his face gently.
"I don't know what I did to deserve you," Marcus sighed happily.
"Me either," Harry said, and Marcus could see that he completely meant it. Smiling he wrapped his arms and wings tightly around Harry and pulled him closer into another kiss, trying to say everything that he felt for Harry in that kiss.
They had the rest of their lives together, they had their future ahead of themselves, and Marcus couldn't wait to properly start their lives, find their house and make it their home.
Harry sighed contently against his mouth, and Marcus heated himself up chuckling deeply as Harry went limp against him, hissing happily and wiggling against Marcus as he sank deeper into the kiss with his mate who he 100% believed was made for him and he was made for Marcus, and he would spend the rest of his life believing that Marcus was his gift from fate for everything that he had had to go through.
