For Us

Summary:

"Not yet," he admonished gently. "Your release is mine to give."

The whimper that escaped her was entirely undignified, wholly unbefitting an Archon. But here, in this space, such concerns meant nothing.

Work Text:

The grand chamber of the Opera Epiclese stood empty as twilight descended upon it. The Chief Justice remained behind, silver hair catching the last rays of sunlight streaming through stained glass windows. He poured over heavy tomes and documents, lilac eyes scanning each page with meticulous attention. And Furina observed him silently from the doorway, her presence still unnoticed.

As the lofty Hydro Archon, she was revered openly by all, including her dear Neuvillette who maintained perfect decorum in public, ever the face of justice all knew him to be. But so few knew the intricate dance they held behind closed doors, how the dragon who enforced her divine will during daylight hours commanded her completely in the sanctuary of their private chambers…

Her one and singular relief.

"Working late again, my dear Iudex?" Her voice carried across the empty hall, a velvet caress against the stone walls.

Neuvillette straightened immediately, turning toward her with practiced composure. Only the subtle lift of his azure fins betrayed his surprise.

"Lady Furina," he responded, voice deep and measured. "The recent hearing requires additional scrutiny. The documentation contains some irregularities."

Furina glided toward him, the small of her back arched gracefully as she approached. "Always so dedicated," she purred, her voice dripping with admiration and something more primal. "But even we must rest, you know."

"Justice never rests, Lady Furina." His expression remained stoic, but she caught the flicker in his draconic eyes, the familiar spark that ignited whenever they were alone. And the air between them crackled like lightning in the rain. This was their ritual—the careful transition from their public personas to their private arrangement. She approached his desk, trailing manicured fingers across the polished surface.

"And what of your other duties?" she asked, a smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. "Does the dragon neglect those as well?"

His gaze darkened. "Never, my lady." He closed the tome before him with deliberate slowness. "I simply prioritize according to urgency."

"And am I not urgent, love?" Furina leaned forward, heart pounding in her chest as she dropped the title she reserved for their most intimate moments…

And the silence of the room pressed in around them. Neuvillette stood, his full height imposing as he moved around the desk with measured steps. The power dynamic shifted palpably, her question had been a surrender, an acknowledgment that she needed what only he could provide.

"You appear... distressed." His voice lowered an octave. "The court proceedings today were particularly demanding."

Furina nodded, suddenly unable to maintain her teasing facade. She took a deep breath, and let a hint of truth free. "The endless petitions, the diplomatic posturing with Snezhnaya's delegation..." Her voice became barely above a whisper. "Sometimes I wish to simply be... unburdened."

Neuvillette's expression softened momentarily, genuine concern more than evident. Such a kind man he was. Then, with practiced precision, he reached forward and gently grasped her wrist, his thumb pressing against her pulse point.

"Then perhaps," he suggested, his breath hot against her ear as he leaned closer, "the Hydro Archon requires a different kind of justice tonight."

Her breath caught in her throat as his meaning became clear. "Yes," she managed, "your chambers."

"As you wish." The formality of his words contrasted sharply with the possessive grip he maintained on her wrist. Together they departed the grand hall, maintaining a respectful distance as they passed the few remaining employees.

The journey to his private quarters felt endless. Both of them had additional rooms in the Opera Epiclese, a secondary home for when the hour grew too late, spaces rarely but preciously used. And every step heightened the anticipation building within her. Ah, she could feel herself getting closer to the release she craved—the blessed freedom from decision and control that only Neuvillette could give her.

When his chamber door finally closed behind them, the air was thick with the scent of arousal... Neuvillette moved to turn on the lamps, illuminating the space with golden warmth. His smaller quarters were austere compared to her opulent ones, yet meticulously organized, and she found the simplicity calming.

"Disrobe," he commanded simply, his back still turned to her as he removed his judicial robes.

And Furina felt the familiar thrill race through her veins at his directive. Here, she was not the Hydro Archon—merely a woman, surrendering to the one she trusted most. She began to unfasten the intricate clasps of her attire, each layer removed stripping away another vestige of her public persona…

When Neuvillette finally faced her, he had changed into a simple black silk robe that clung to his sleek build. His silver hair, freed from its formal styling, framed his sharp features. And those eyes took in her near undressed state, and he approached her.

Like a predator staring down prey…

"Allow me," he murmured, strong hands moving to the remaining fastenings at her back. His touches were methodical yet reverent, acknowledging the make believe power she held over him in daylight while asserting his dominance in this sacred space. The cool air of the room caressed her skin as the last of her garments fell away, and Neuvillette stepped back, drinking in the sight of her with unconcealed desire...

"Beautiful," he stated simply. "Turn."

She complied immediately, turning slowly for his inspection. This ritual humbled and aroused her in equal measure, to be admired and wanted so thoroughly.

"You carried the weight of a nation today, as always," he observed, circling her with measured steps. "I watched your input on thirteen cases, negotiate with two foreign dignitaries, and settle a territorial dispute—all without betraying a moment of weakness."

His praise washed over her like summer water, warm and affirming. Neuvillette couldn’t truly understand the burden she carried, the facade of divine infallibility she maintained, but it was close at times.

"But here," he continued, suddenly grasping her chin between thumb and forefinger, tilting her face upward, "you need not be divine. Here, you answer to me. Is that understood?"

"Yes, Neuvillette," she whispered, her heart pounding in her chest.

His expression remained stern, though a subtle warmth softened his slitted eyes. "And what are your words, should you need me to stop?"

This too was part of their ritual, one he wasn’t willing to negotiate on.

"River for pause, ocean for cease," she recited, the familiar safety protocol a comfort rather than an intrusion after centuries of it.

"Good." He released her chin, moving to a carved wooden chest near his bedside. It was reserved for only these late nights. "Kneel on the bed. Hands behind your back."

Furina complied eagerly, positioning herself as instructed. The silk sheets beneath her knees felt cool against her heated skin as she waited, every nerve ending in her body alive with anticipation. So close…

Neuvillette returned with several lengths of fine silk rope, a material he favored for its gentle touch against her skin, dyed in rich blue. Without speaking, he began to bind her wrists behind her back, his movements precise and practiced.

"Too tight?" he inquired softly, checking the bindings.

"No, perfect," she breathed, already feeling the blessed surrender as the ropes secured her.

He continued his work, creating an intricate harness across her torso, the silk rope framing her slight breasts and accentuating her curves. Each knot was placed with deliberation, each crossing of rope a declaration of his control and care.

"You carry such a burden," he murmured as he worked.

Furina's heart skipped a beat at his words. If only he knew the truth, that all of this was an elaborate deception, a performance suffered to keep the prophecy at bay. But she could never confess this truth, not even to her beloved dragon.

The guilt of this deception was yet another weight she carried…

"I..." she began, but her words dissolved into a soft gasp as he tightened a rope across her chest.

"Silence," he commanded gently. "Tonight, you need not speak unless answering a direct question. Tonight, you need not think at all."

And relief flooded through her. This was precisely what she needed—to surrender not just her body but her mind, to be free from the constant performance of divinity…

When he had finished binding her, Neuvillette stepped back to admire his handiwork. The blue silk crisscrossed her pale skin like tributaries flowing into the sea, both constraining and highlighting her beauty.

"Do you know why I bind you, Lady Furina?" he asked, deliberately using her title. It stood in stark contrast, and she shivered in anxious delight.

"To control me," she answered softly.

"No." He shook his head, silver hair and fins catching the candlelight. "I bind you to free you. The ropes hold your body so your mind may float. They bear your burdens so you may transcend them."

Words hung in the air between them, profound in their understanding. This man, this dragon, he comprehended her needs with a clarity that sometimes frightened her… He was truly the divine one, wasn’t he?

Neuvillette approached the bed again, his strong hands cupping her face. "You grant me the privilege of your submission, and I shall ensure it is rewarded."

His kiss, when it came, was unexpectedly gentle—a stark contrast to the restraints binding her body. His lips moved against hers with practiced skill, neither demanding nor passive but perfectly balanced. When he pulled away, her lips parted reflexively, seeking to maintain contact.

"Patience," he admonished, a hint of amusement coloring his tone.

His fingers threaded through her hair, gentle at first, then tightening suddenly to pull her head back, exposing the column of her throat. She couldn't help but let out a soft moan as he traced his lips along her neck, alternating between feather-light kisses and sharp nips that threatened to leave marks—marks she would need to conceal beneath high collars in tomorrow's court.

"Who do you belong to, outside these walls?" he questioned against her skin.

"To Fontaine, to my people," she answered dutifully.

"And within these walls?" His voice lowered dangerously.

"To you, Neuvillette. Only to you."

His approval manifested as a deep growl that reverberated through his chest. "Correct."

What followed was a methodical deconstruction of her composure. Neuvillette moved with deliberate slowness, his mouth and hands exploring her bound form with meticulous attention. He traced the paths of the blue silk with his lips, followed the contours of her body with calculated touches—sometimes soothing, sometimes sharp enough to make her breath hitch.

Throughout it all, he maintained absolute control, never rushing, never allowing his own desire to dictate the pace. This was the essence of his dominance. Not crude force, but absolute mastery of both himself and her responses.

And when his fingers finally slipped between her thighs, he found her more than ready. "So responsive," he murmured appreciatively. "Always so eager for me."

"Please," she whispered, the word spilling from her parted lips before she could stop herself.

His hand stilled immediately. "Did I grant permission to speak?"

Furina bit her lip, shaking her head minutely.

"A reminder seems necessary," he decided, withdrawing his touch completely.

The loss of contact was almost too much to bear. She watched through half-lidded eyes as he retrieved something else from the wooden chest—a slender rod of polished jade, cool and smooth.

"Cold punishment for the Hydro Archon," he explained, his voice a velvet caress as he returned to the bed. "Count each touch."

What followed was exquisite torture. He traced the cool jade across her overheated skin—across her collarbone, down between her breasts, circling her navel. Each touch she counted aloud, her voice growing increasingly strained as the coolness approached but never quite reached where she needed it most.

By the time she reached "fifteen," she was trembling within her bonds, every fiber of her being focused on the point where the jade met her skin…

"You've done well," Neuvillette acknowledged, setting aside the implement. "Your control improves with each lesson."

The praise warmed her more than any physical touch could. "Thank you, Neuvillette."

”You’ll be allowed to speak, but not question now. Understood?”

”Yes…”

He repositioned her then, arranging her bound form so she lay on her back, arms securely fastened beneath her. The vulnerability of the position wasn't lost on her—completely open to him, unable to hide or shield any part of herself.

And Neuvillette disrobed unhurriedly, revealing his sleek, powerful form. Despite his lean build, he possessed a dragon's strength, evident in the defined muscles that shifted beneath pale skin, decorated in scales and smooth gills. His arousal stood proud, a testament to his desire despite his unwavering self-control.

He knelt between her spread thighs, lilac eyes holding her gaze captive. "Remember who you are beyond these walls—divine, untouchable, revered," he instructed, his breath hot against her inner thigh. "And remember who you become within them."

"Yours," she whispered again, the single word encompassing everything.

"Mine," he agreed, before lowering his head.

The first contact of his mouth against her drew a desperate cry from her lips. Neuvillette approached this task as he did all others with thorough dedication and impeccable skill. His tongue traced intricate patterns, alternating between broad strokes and precise flicks that made her hips buck against her restraints.

Through it all, he maintained eye contact, watching her reactions with predatory intensity. He knew her body intimately, knew exactly how to bring her to the edge repeatedly without allowing her to fall over it.

"Neuvillette, please," she begged, abandoning pride entirely. "I need—"

"I know precisely what you need," he interrupted, his voice commanding even as he continued his ministrations, breath hot on her skin. "But you'll receive it when I decide, not before."

The dance of dominance and submission continued, Neuvillette driving her higher with each calculated touch. When he finally slid two fingers inside her, curling them expertly while maintaining the rhythm of his tongue, Furina felt herself getting closer to the edge, her body convulsing with each precise movement.

Just as she approached her peak, he withdrew completely, leaving her gasping and desperate.

"Not yet," he admonished gently. "Your release is mine to give."

The whimper that escaped her was entirely undignified, wholly unbefitting an Archon. But here, in this space, such concerns meant nothing.

And Neuvillette positioned himself above her, his hair falling forward to frame his face as he aligned their bodies. The head of his cock pressed against her entrance, not yet pushing forward.

"Look at me," he commanded softly.

Furina's eyes, which had drifted closed in frustrated pleasure, opened to meet his gaze, those white pupils sharp as a blade and yet softer than silk.

"I want you to remember this moment," he told her, his voice intense with emotion. "When tomorrow comes and you stand before the masses—remember this. Remember that someone knows you completely, and worships you not as an Archon, but as a woman deserving of the love she’s given."

Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, the truth of his words striking deeper than any physical sensation could. In this man's eyes, she was neither a fraud nor a goddess—she was simply herself, completely known and completely loved. Even if he didn’t know it all, it didn’t matter. Not now. Not ever.

"I'll remember," she promised, her voice breaking on the words.

Only then did he enter her, in one smooth, powerful thrust that filled her completely. The sensation was overwhelming, the physical fullness coupled with the emotional intensity of their connection, his body almost too big for her but stretching in just the right, painful way that made her tremble in bliss…

And the dragon established a rhythm that was neither gentle nor brutal, but perfectly balanced—firm enough to remind her of her powerlessness in this moment, controlled enough to demonstrate his mastery of himself. Each thrust was deliberate, each withdrawal measured.

The ropes across her torso enhanced every sensation, the slight restriction of her breathing only stoking the fire building within her. Bound as she was, Furina could do nothing but receive what he gave her, her usual control completely surrendered.

"You are magnificent like this," he told her, his composure finally beginning to fray as his pace increased. "My goddess, my love, mine."

His words, combined with the increasingly urgent rhythm of his hips, pushed her closer to the edge she'd been denied earlier. The pleasure coursing through her body built to an almost unbearable intensity, a river overflowing.

"Please," she gasped, no longer caring about protocol or permission. She could barely remember that he had granted it, "please, Neuvi, let me—"

"Yes," he granted, his voice strained with his own approaching climax. "Come for me, Furina. Let go."

And she shattered beneath him without another word, soaking waves of pleasure crashing through her as her release claimed her completely. Her cry of ecstasy echoed off the walls as her body arched against the restraints.

Neuvillette followed moments later, his rhythm faltering as he found his own release, her name a reverent prayer on his lips. For several heartbeats, they remained joined, both trembling with the intensity of their shared pleasure, his essence heavy and hot within her. And she felt whole

When clarity gradually returned, Furina found herself being gently turned, Neuvillette's strong hands already working to release her from her bindings. Each knot was undone with the same care with which it had been tied, each rope removed with soothing strokes to the skin beneath.

"Breathe deeply," he instructed as the last restraint fell away. "Allow your circulation to restore naturally."

She complied, focused on the simple act of breathing as he massaged her wrists and shoulders, easing away any discomfort from her prolonged binding. This aftercare was as much a part of their ritual as the dominance that preceded it, his way of demonstrating that his control extended to her wellbeing in all aspects. Kind, and diligent. And somehow, he was hers.

When he had assured himself of her physical comfort, Neuvillette drew her against his chest, cradling her smaller form against his.

"You did wonderfully," he murmured, pressing a kiss to her temple. "How do you feel?"

She breathed a soft, heavy sigh. "Unburdened," she answered truthfully, nestling against him. "Like I can face tomorrow's troubles with clear eyes…"

His arms tightened around her, protective and possessive. "That is all I wish for you. Clarity and peace, even if only in these moments we steal together."

They lay in comfortable silence, her head resting on his chest, his long fingers tracing idle patterns along her spine. The Chief Justice and the Hydro Archon, bound by duty and propriety, momentarily set aside for the ones beneath. The ones Fontaine would never see within these walls.

"Neuvi," she ventured after a time, her voice barely above a whisper, "do you ever wonder… if I’m enough? As a god?"

She felt him stiffen slightly beneath her, then deliberately relax. "What prompts this question?"

Furina hesitated, suddenly regretting her impulsive query. How could she tell him that her divinity was simply in name—that the one he served so faithfully in public and dominated so thoroughly in private was, in essence, a fraud…?

"Nothing of consequence," she deflected. "Merely post-coital philosophical musings."

And the dragon was silent for several moments, his hand continuing its gentle path along her back. When he finally spoke, his words surprised her.

"I trust in your talents, and you are undoubtedly beloved by the people," he said carefully. “Gods, Archons, usurpers… Those titles mean less to me. It is the you in these moments that I love most of all. Whatever divine essence flows through your veins matters less to me than the woman who surrenders herself to my care. I believe that is far more than enough."

The tears she'd held back earlier returned, falling silently onto his chest. He loved her, she knew he did... So for now, she took comfort in the knowledge that his devotion transcended her performance. That one day, when she was free, that he may still want her even then.

”Thank you, love…”

"Always," he murmured, kissing the top of her head and pulling the blankets over their cooling bodies. "Rest now, Furina. There’s nothing to worry about here."

And as sleep began to claim her, she emptied her mind to his instruction’s command, and she felt truly at peace… In Neuvillette's chambers, bound by his ropes and embraced by his understanding, she found the freedom that eluded her everywhere else. Her dragon, her Chief Justice, her beloved—he alone knew how to balance the scales of her storming emotions within.

And for tonight, that was enough.
