Rickard Stark had often wondered what it would be like to have a grandchild. His wife Lyarra had wondered that too and wanted to hold one in her arms before she would die from the sickness that was taking her.
Rickard didn't know he would get that wish very soon.
Because in 278 A.C, while the Stark family was praying in the Godswood, a 19 year old boy would crash on them while screaming, as would his Direwolf. He had short slicked back spiky brown hair grey eyes, a scar over his left eye and he was 6'3.
When Rickard and Lyarra had met Jon Snow, a boy disturbingly identical to Ned in appearance. They were very delighted after learning he was from the future and Ned's son when he introduced himself after Rickard asked who he was.
They didn't care he was a bastard, he was their blood and grandson and even Ned was astonished.
And then he had shocked them all when he let out a furious roar and took Benjen and Lyanna's neck in both his hands, trying to strangle them.
Everyone tried to get his hands off the younger Stark children, but no one succeeded, and Lyarra's pleading to Jon was what broke through his anger as he released Ben and Lya, who coughed trying to regain their breath.
And then Jon had explained everything.
Rickard's entire world fell apart as he learned the future and the fate of House Stark. He also learned of the dead and how Jon gained the power of The Night King and the old god who was the 3 eyed Raven.
Rickard was extremely remorseful and locked himself in his solar, unable to forgive himself for what his ambitions led the North to.
Lyarra hadn't been able to look at Benjen and Lyanna, and walked away with disappointment in her eyes. 12 year old Benjen and 15 year old Lyanna were devastated, but Ned and Brandon comforted them and assured them that the fault would lie with Rhaegar and they would not repeat the mistakes their future selves committed.
Jon had caught and butchered Walys, who was slowly poisoning Lyarra. Jon fed his accomplices to his Direwolf Ghost as well.
Ned and Brandon were in shock from everything they had heard. They were even more horrified to find out that Walys was poisoning Lyarra.
Catelyn had, meanwhile, arrived at Winterfell when this was happening.
Jon then horrified everyone once more when he tore Catelyn's innards out with fury and butchered her uncle alongside his 40 Tully men. He then shocked them all once more when he raised Brynden and his men up as wights and sent them to kill Hoster and Edmure Tully.
They were all very lucky that Jon knew how to work discreetly, and that he had his wights burn sections of Riverun to make it look like an accident.

" The King has announced a tourney at Harrenhal " Rickard said to his children in his solar.
Rickard then looked at Jon while saying that. His grandson from the future was busy glaring down at 13 year old Benjen and 16 year old Lyanna who were getting scared by the minute. His glare was a warning to make sure they behave themselves this time around.
The younger Stark siblings feared Jon for what he did to House Tully. Brandon had no complains about it as he had gotten to marry Barbrey Dustin and they had a 2 month old newborn son now.
17 year old Ned was also disturbed with Jon's brutal nature, but he got along with him regardless. Ned didn't want to have issues with his own son. Ned loved him too for saving his mother Lyarra from Walys. Besides, present Jon had been already born here when Ned had accidental sex with a maid due to being drunk because of Brandon. He had named the baby Jon as Alarik Snow to avoid confusion.
Jon had also helped improve his combat skills in the past year and he was better than Brandon with a sword.
Lyarra loved Jon wholeheartedly, especially since he killed Catelyn, because she didn't like the Tully bitch and hated her even more after learning what she did to Jon and what happened to the North due to her fuckups in the future.
" Just to make it clear, I want no complaint letters on my desk by the time all 5 of you make it back " Rickard sternly said.
" 5 of us ? " Jon raised an eyebrow " why am I going again ? ".
" Aerys demanded presence of all my House's children, Trueborn or otherwise " Rickard sighed.
Oh right, Rickard needed an explanation for Jon's existence and passed the boy off as his bastard nephew from his late bastard half-sister.
" and what about the Free folk ? " Jon asked and Rickard groaned.
Jon had asked Rickard the impossible when he asked for the Free Folk to be allowed to pass on this side. Rickard had discussed the topic with his fellow Lords and they all were furious.
" It would take some more time to convince others of the benefits. Long held enmities don't just end in a day " Rickard sighed.
" Fair enough " Jon said " just do it before the rebellion breaks out this time around ".
" Why would the rebellion break out when I won't repeat my mistakes ? " Lyanna was shocked. She had been feeling ashamed of what she could have done in another life and swore to make better choices this time around. She will even marry Robert and not make up reasons not to marry him !.
Her mother had also apologized to her and Benjen for her reaction to the revelations.
" Rhaegar " Jon said as if this was all the reason in itself.
" Why don't we just kill Rhaegar and be done with it ?! " Brandon irritably asked.
" Southerners will always sabotage and kill each other for self-benefit. Why would I interfere there ? " Jon smirked " we can have good reason to stay out of this rebellion if it has nothing to do with us ".
Ned had forgotten how brutal Jon can be. He had accepted that his son won't have his honor philosophy but he was a better man in his own way.
It was Jon who had directed some of the North's cold to the South with his powers and made many lands fertile and farmable that farmers made good yield on and their food stores were slowly filling up even more.
Rickard sighed. They should really stay out of the South's messes. Rickard was also second guessing Lyanna's betrothal to Robert.
There was a knock on the door and a guard came to deliver him a message.
Rickard opened the letter as the guard left.
The contents made him widen his eyes in shock and made his children more curious " Tywin...... is dead...... Jaime Lannister is the new Lord of Casterly Rock ....... ".
While the Stark children were shocked at this unexpected revelation, Rickard looked at Jon in suspicion " what did you do ? ".
" I sent a wight to assassinate him and jump in the Sea before it could get caught " Jon revealed and they stared at him in horror " Don't look at me like that. It was necessary ".
" You can assassinate Aerys too ! " Brandon enthusiastically said.
" I can, but I won't " Jon answered.
" What ?!!. Why ?!! " Ned looked irritated " Aerys is a monster ! ".
" And I would have the South suffer that monster " Jon sadistically smiled.
The smile was so unlike Ned's dutiful and broody smile.
" It would give us time to develop right under their noses " Jon added.
" But people will suffer ! " Ned exclaimed.
" They're not our people " Jon said as he left, leaving them all shocked.
