Minecraft movie disaster

Summary:

The royal outing to the new Minecraft movie did not go so well.

Work Text:

Princess Brooklyn: "Shieldy, are you ready for the movie? I've heard such amazing things about it!"

Shieldy: *Sheildy is nonverbal and autistic. He uses a blue AAC tablet to communicate. He'd press s few buttons.* [YES
I AM. EXCITED. TO WATCH. MINECRAFT MOVIE. WITH. FRIENDS.] *He is carrying his red backpack with his Lightning McQueen plushie, crackers (his favorite food), and his comfort blanket.*

Suitcase: *Suitcase is also autistic, but she is verbal. She also carries a pink backpack with a Bluey plushie, strawberry yogurt, and a pink pop it* Yay! Movie!!

Prince Silver Spoon: Prince Silver Spoon nodded enthusiastically, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "You guys are going to love it! It's got everything we enjoy in our own little world, but brought to life on the big screen." He glanced around at his friends, his chill demeanor masking his own nerves about the impending wedding planning. "But first, we've got to find the perfect spot in the theater." He took the lead, his ADHD mind already racing with the best seating arrangements to ensure everyone was comfortable. "How about the middle row? That way we're not too close, but still right in the middle of the action."

Princess Brooklyn: No. I want the very back row

Prince Silver Spoon: "Alright, the back it is!" He said, pivoting to face the back of the theater. "More legroom, and we won't be bothered by anyone else. Plus, we can spread out if we need to."

Princess Brooklyn: Can you pack my bag? Headphones, phone, fidget, other..

Prince Silver Spoon: *Nods* Sure, I got it, love. *He opens her bag and starts placing her items inside.*

Princess Brooklyn: I like taking care of Shieldy and Suitcase

Prince Silver Spoon: Prince Silver Spoon's gaze softened at her words, his movements momentarily slowing as he placed her fidget in the bag. "They're lucky to have you, Brooklyn. Your heart is as big and warm as the Amethyst Kingdom's sunsets." He zipped the bag shut and handed it to her with a gentle smile. "You always know just how to make everyone feel included. It's one of the things I admire most about you." He looked around the bustling theater lobby, his mind racing with thoughts of seating and snacks, trying to ensure the outing was as stress-free as possible for his fiancée and their friends. The scent of buttered popcorn filled the air, and the sound of eager chatter grew louder as they approached the theater doors. "Let's grab some snacks before we head in, what do you two want?" He asked, looking between Shieldy and Suitcase, his eyes full of concern and care.

Shieldy: *Using his AAC tablet, Shieldy's response was straightforward.* [POPCORN AND PEPSI PLEASE]

Suitcase: "I want popcorn and gummy bears! And a blue slushie!" She bounced a little in place, holding her pop-it close to her chest.

Worker: *The theater worker smiles at the group.* "Great choices! Let me get those for you.

Prince Silver Spoon: Oh, and can me and my princess have a large popcorn to share? And can you give the special, movie themed bowls to the little ones?

Worker: Of course, Your Highness! Anything for our royal guests!

Golden Wii Remote: Can my and my girl scissors have one too?

King Gold Bar: and me and Queen Diamond?

Worker: Of course! A royal feast of popcorn for everyone!

King Gold Bar: As the group made their way into the theater, the grandeur of the place momentarily took King Gold Bar's breath away. He looked down at Queen Diamond with a smile that was both proud and a little overwhelmed. "This is quite the outing, isn't it, dear?" he asked, taking her hand in his.

Queen Diamond: "Indeed, my love," Queen Diamond said with a warm smile, her eyes scanning the theater's ornate design. Her hand felt comforting in his, a reminder of the strength of their bond amidst the unpredictable whirlwind of raising their young heirs and maintaining the kingdom's peace. She leaned closer, whispering, "Let's make sure the children enjoy themselves. The movie is a chance for them to escape from their royal duties, if only for a few hours."

Scissors: I love you, Golden *she'd kiss Golden Wii Remote*

Golden Wii Remote: I love you too

Paparazzi: how are you dating Golsen Wii Remote?!

Scissors: *Scissors has RSD (Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria) and gets defensive quickly.* What's it to you?

Paparazzi: The paparazzi, a young, eager journalist with a pen and notepad in hand, had stumbled upon the royal group during their outing. He blinked rapidly, surprised by the sudden confrontation. His voice was high-pitched with excitement and a touch of nerves. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean any harm! It's just that, you know, the public is curious about the royal family's personal lives. It's so rare to see such a unique couple, and I'm sure everyone would love to hear your love story!" He took a step back, hoping his retreat would ease the tension.

Scissors: *Her grip on Golden Wii Remote's hand tightened, and she took a deep breath to calm herself.* It's okay, Golden. *She turned to the journalist with a forced smile.* We're just like any other couple. We fell in love in the most unexpected place, the arcade. And we're happy together, that's all that matters. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're here to watch the movie. *Her voice remained firm, but her eyes searched the room for an escape from the uncomfortable situation.*

Prince Silver Spoon: *Silver nodded in support.* That's right. Now, let's find those perfect seats. *He led the group into the dimly lit theater, his heart pounding in his chest as he navigated the aisles.*

Narrator: The group of friends settled into the back row of the theater, the plush seats enveloping them in comfort. Shieldy and Suitcase looked around in wide-eyed wonder, taking in the grandeur of the place. The smell of fresh popcorn filled the air, mingling with the excitement of the anticipating audience.

Shieldy: *Using his AAC tablet, Shieldy's voice echoed through the theater.* [THIS IS SO COOL! THANKS FOR TAKING US, PRINCE SILVER SPOON!]

Prince Silver Spoon: No problem, buddy! It's what friends do. *He gave Shieldy's shoulder a reassuring squeeze before turning to Suitcase.* And for you, I've got those gummy bears! *He offered her the bag with a grin.*

Suitcase: *Her eyes lit up as she took the bag, her smile wide and genuine.* Thank you, Prince Silver Spoon!

Shieldy: *Shieldy presses button.* [PACIFIER]

Princess Brooklyn: "Oh, I forgot!" *Brooklyn rummages through her bag and pulls out a blue pacifier, handing it to Shieldy with a gentle smile.* "Here you go, buddy."

Shieldy: *Shieldy takes the pacifier and places it in his mouth, his eyes closing in relief as he leans into the familiar comfort of the chewy object. The sound of his chewing is rhythmic, a self-soothing mechanism that helps him deal with the sensory overload of the crowded theater.* [THANK YOU, PRINCESS BROOKLYN. YOU'RE THE BEST.]

Prince Silver Spoon: Prince Silver Spoon watches Shieldy with a knowing look, understanding the comfort his friend finds in small, familiar items. He turns to Suitcase. "Everything okay here?" His gaze flickers to the popcorn in her lap, ensuring she had enough space and wasn't overwhelmed by the surrounding noise. He then leans back in his chair, stretching out his legs and grabbing a handful of popcorn from the shared bucket. The lights dim further, signaling the start of the movie, and the anticipation in the air thickens.

Princess Brooklyn: She nods and smiles at Suitcase, who's busy opening her popcorn. "Everything's perfect, Silver." Her eyes scan the room, ensuring their friends are comfortable before the movie starts. The vivid colors of the pre-show advertisements dance across her face, but she's more focused on the calming presence of her fiancé beside her.

Narrator: *1 hour later*

Audience: The movie played a scene that was so popular, that the audience threw their popcorn and soft drinks in the air while cheering and screaming. Some of the mess got on Brooklyn

Princess Brooklyn: *Her eyes widened and she flinched as the debris from the audience's animalistic behavior rained down on them. She clutched her comfort blanket tightly, her heart racing.* "Silver..." she murmured, her voice barely audible over the cacophony.

Narrator: The theater plunged into chaos as the fire alarm blared, piercing the excitement of the movie. The vivid images on screen were abruptly replaced by stark, flashing emergency lights. People jumped to their feet, shouting and pushing as they scrambled to find the nearest exit.

Princess Brooklyn: The sudden assault of noise and flashing lights sent a shockwave through Brooklyn's system. She froze in her seat, her eyes glazed over, and she squeezed her blanket tightly to her chest. Her mind was a whirlwind of confusion and fear. The overstimulation from the alarms and the panicking crowd was too much for her to handle.

Shieldy: Shieldy, noticing Brooklyn's distress, quickly typed into his AAC tablet. [BROOKLYN, ARE YOU OKAY? LET'S GO OUTSIDE. QUIET OUTSIDE. LESS PEOPLE. SAFE.] He offered his hand to her, his own anxiety rising as he tried to process the chaos.

Suitcase: Suitcase's eyes grew wide with fear as the lights flashed and the noise grew louder. She buried her face in her pop-it, her hands shaking. "Too much," she whispered, her voice lost in the panic around them.

Shieldy: *he whimpers and starts to cry silently*

Prince Silver Spoon: *Prince silver spoon carries all of their belongings well frantically trying to get out the movie theater. He scoops Brooklyn, Shieldy, and Suitcase into his arms.*

Princess Brooklyn: Brooklyn's meltdown was like a sonic boom in the chaos of the theater. She let out a scream that seemed to shatter the very air around them. The sounds of the panicking crowd and the blaring alarms were dwarfed by her distress, her high-pitched screech echoing off the walls. Her body convulsed, and she buried her face into Silver's shoulder, her nails digging into his skin as she clutched at him desperately. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and her breaths came in ragged gasps. The lights were too bright, the noises too loud, the smells too overpowering. The world had turned into a monster, and she was trapped in its jaws.

Narrator: *Everyone gets in the car and they drive home. Luckily Silver Spoon could pick up all of everyone's belongings in time or it would be even more the stressful*

Shieldy: Shieldy, overwhelmed by the chaos of the theater and the sudden change in environment, continued to weep quietly into his mother's arms while his whole body trembled. The car ride home was silent aside from the quiet distressed crying, with the gentle hum of the engine and the soft whispers of the wind . His mother, Queen Diamond, held him tightly, her own heart aching for his pain. She knew that the unpredictable world was a challenge for Shieldy, and she wished she could shield him from every discomfort. She rubbed his back in slow, soothing circles, whispering words of comfort that he might not fully grasp but would feel deep within his soul. As the castle's spires grew closer, she hoped that the familiar surroundings would bring him the peace he desperately needed.

Prince Silver Spoon: I think he needs a nap

Queen Diamond: *nods* I'll take him to his room. *She carries a still-distressed Shieldy out of the car, her face a mask of calm determination.*

Suitcase: Suitcase, also overstimulated by the movie theater chaos, sits quietly in the backseat, her eyes fixated on her blue pop-it. She's breathing heavily, trying to calm herself down. "Too... too loud," she whispers, her grip on the toy fidget tightening. She looks up at Silver and Brooklyn, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "Can we watch a quiet show at home instead?" she asks, her voice trembling.

Prince Silver Spoon: Yes, but I think you and Shieldy should take a nap first.

Suitcase: Suitcase nodded in agreement, her eyes still fixated on the pop-it. "Okay," she murmured. "Home is safe."

King Gold Bar: King Gold Bar, noticing the distress of his daughter in law, placed a comforting hand on Suitcase's shoulder. "Let's get you guys to the castle," he said firmly. "We can watch a calming show there." He looked to Silver, concern etched in his golden features. "Is there anything else we can do for them?"

Prince Silver Spoon: "Thanks, Dad." *He nodded, his eyes still on Brooklyn who was visibly shaking.* "Brook, it's okay. We're going home."

Prince Silver Spoon: As the car pulled away from the theater, Prince Silver Spoon held onto Brooklyn tightly, his heart breaking at her distress. He knew the sounds and lights had been too much for her, and he wished he had thought of the possibility of a meltdown in such a crowded place. He whispered sweet nothings into her ear, trying to soothe her as they drove through the quiet streets of Goldspire. The neon lights of the city cast a soft glow on her tear-stained cheeks, and he felt his own anxiety spike, knowing she was in pain. When they arrived at the castle, he carried her inside, noticing the worried glances of the guards as they passed by. He kicked open the door to their private quarters and gently laid her on the bed, pulling the blankets up to her chin. He grabbed a cold compress from the bathroom and placed it on her forehead, hoping to ease the tension in her body. "Rest, my love," he whispered. "I'll be right here."

Princess Brooklyn: *Her breathing slowed and her sobs quieted as she felt the cold compress on her forehead. She soon drifted to sleep.*

Prince Silver Spoon: *Once he was sure Brooklyn was asleep, Silver gently removed the compress and placed it on the nightstand. He took a moment to watch her breathe peacefully before standing up and leaving the room. He descended the grand staircase, his thoughts racing.*

Prince Silver Spoon: *With a heavy heart, Prince Silver Spoon entered the Royal living room, a space that typically resonated with warmth and laughter but now felt eerily still. He sat in front of the gold-framed mirror that served as their makeshift recording studio, his expression a mix of anger and concern. His ADHD mind was buzzing with thoughts of the disrespectful audience members, and he knew he had to channel that energy into something productive. He cleared his throat and took a deep breath before speaking into the camera with a firm but composed voice.* "To those who cheered and threw objects at the movie theater tonight," he began, his eyes burning with determination. "Your behavior was not only disrespectful to the film and those who worked tirelessly to create it, but also to the fellow audience members, including those who are sensitive to sudden noises and commotion." *His words were measured and deliberate, each one a dagger aimed at the thoughtless individuals who had caused so much distress to Brooklyn and their friends. He paused, taking a moment to collect himself before continuing. *"Movies are meant to be an escape, a place where everyone can come together and enjoy a story. But for some, like my fiancée, the chaos can be unbearable." His gaze softened briefly before hardening again. "If you know who you are, I demand an apology. And to everyone else, let's remember the importance of etiquette and kindness, especially in shared spaces. Thank you." *With a final nod, he ended the recording and uploaded it to the kingdom's social media platform, hoping that his message would resonate with someone and prevent future incidents.*

King Gold Bar: *He enters the room, looking at his son with a mix of pride and concern.* "Well done, son. You're a true prince. I'm proud of you"

Prince Silver Spoon: "Thanks, Dad." *He runs a hand through his hair, his gaze still fixed on the now-empty bed where Brooklyn had been.*

Princess Brooklyn: Brooklyn woke up to the gentle hum of the castle's ambient sounds. The cold compress on the nightstand was a stark reminder of the meltdown she'd had. She sat up, her heart racing, and took a deep breath to calm herself. The room was quiet, save for the distant chirp of a nightingale outside their window. She slipped out. "What happened?"

Prince Silver Spoon: Prince Silver Spoon looked up from his book, his expression softening when he saw her. "Hey, you're up. The movie got too loud, and there was a bit of a mess. We had to leave early. You had a meltdown, but it's okay. You're safe here." He paused, his eyes searching hers. "Do you remember anything?"

Princess Brooklyn: No...

Prince Silver Spoon: It's okay, love. It was just too much for you and Shieldy. But we're home now. You're safe.

Shieldy: *Shieldy appears in the doorway, his eyes red from crying.* [I SORRY FOR THE MELTDOWN]

Suitcase: "It's okay, Shieldy. It's not your fault. The movie was just too loud."

Shieldy: *Shieldy nods in understanding, his eyes reflecting the regret he feels.* [I know. But I don't like scaring people. I'll be more careful next time. Promise to keep it inside if I get scared or overwhelmed. I'll use my headphones and fidget more.*

Princess Brooklyn: You don't have to change for other people. Be yourself, and do whatever makes you happy

Shieldy: *Shieldy nods in understanding, his eyes flickering to his mother and back to Brooklyn.* [THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT]

Princess Brooklyn: Your AAC needs charging. Here

Shieldy: Shieldy took the charger from Brooklyn with a nod of his head, his eyes still a bit red from crying. He plugged the device into the wall outlet, watching the battery icon flicker to life. The simple act of charging the AAC brought him a sense of control, a small victory amidst the chaos of the evening. He typed out a quick message before setting it aside. [THANKS FOR THE HELP. I'M SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE TONIGHT.]

King Gold Bar: *King Gold Bar, hearing the commotion, sticks his head into the room.* "Is everything alright in here?"

Queen Diamond: *Her eyes are filled with concern as she looks at her son.* "Are you okay, Shieldy?"

Celeste: Celeste, the cherubic baby daughter of Prince Silver Spoon and Princess Brooklyn, lay peacefully in her crib, oblivious to the drama that had unfolded earlier in the day. Her tiny body suddenly tenses, and her little face scrunches up. A moment later, the sweet scent of baby powder is overtaken by a less pleasant aroma. She starts to whine, and the whines quickly escalate into cries.

Prince Silver Spoon: Hearing the sudden change in Celeste's mood, Prince Silver Spoon's head snapped up from the book he'd been trying to read in the quiet of the nursery. The young prince's heart fluttered with a mix of panic and love as he realized the source of his daughter's distress. "Oh no," he murmured, setting the book aside and rising from the chair. "Looks like we've got a situation, little one." He approached the crib with swift but gentle steps, peeking in to confirm the unfortunate event. "I'll go get your mom," he whispered to the now squirming and tearful baby. "We've got this."

Narrator: After changing Celeste, they all went to bed

Epilogue: ---
The night had been a tumultuous one, but as dawn approached, the castle began to stir with life once more. The group of friends, now a little wiser to the challenges of integrating sensory-sensitive individuals into a public outing, gathered in the grand dining hall for a quiet breakfast. The smell of freshly baked bread filled the air, mingling with the comforting aroma of herbal tea. Prince Silver Spoon had arranged for a special spread of foods that catered to everyone's needs, ensuring that the morning was as peaceful as possible. Shieldy and Suitcase sat together, their heads bent over their AACs, discussing the previous night's events in their unique way. The king and queen exchanged glances, their faces etched with the lines of a restless night, but their love for their children and their friends shone through. They knew that there would be more challenges ahead, but they also knew that with patience, understanding, and a little bit of
