Kissing the homies, am I right? I just think that it's fun to kiss your friends and be bisexual in the process.

Work Text:

“What’s kissing like?”

Sachika looked up from her computer at Shouma’s voice. Business was over for the day and she’d been trying to update some spreadsheets she’d been putting off for the entire week. He’d been sitting quietly on the couch, lost in yet another pile of books. Ever since they’d met, he’d ask her questions every now and then about people and the human world, so this wasn’t necessarily an unusual question.

“Kissing?”

“It’s been on my mind, actually.” He lifted up the book he was reading – a title from some romance series that she’d heard a friend mention – and flipped through it. “Not because I don’t know what it is, but because this series has a lot of it. On the cheek, on the forehead, on the mouth…”

She turned in her chair to look at him. “How many books in that series have you read?”

“Eight.”

“Eight?”

“It’s very entertaining.”

Sachika turned back to her computer. “When you kiss someone, you’re sharing affection. Depending on your connection with the other person and where you’re kissing, it can make your heart beat faster from excitement or fondness.”

“And kissing on the mouth is special in comparison to everything else?”

“Kind of? You can get that jittery feeling from kissing anywhere if it’s a first kiss.”

Shouma was quiet for a moment as she typed away. Eventually, he spoke again.

“The first kisses in these books are always so dramatic. It’s as if nothing else in the world could be more important than pushing lips together and I can’t really picture that.”

“Kissing can be pretty fun. It can make you closer to someone that you care about.” Sachika continued speaking without thinking. “It’d be easier to show than to explain.”

The room grew quiet again as the words sunk in.

Oh no.

“These numbers are really getting to me,” she said with a laugh, getting ready to brush it off. “I’m really saying whatever I want, I didn’t mean–”

“Would you really kiss me?”

She stopped typing again. Honestly…

“Are you sure about that, Umasho? I really wasn’t thinking when I said that, I’ve just kissed enough of my friends that it doesn’t have the same level of significance that it would have for you.”

“I’d love to do something to get closer to you.” She turned to look at him again. His eyes were bright with excitement. He had one of those smiles that he gave her before trying a new food product, an eagerness that always made her heart warm. The idea of being his first kiss gave her an unexpectedly sharp thrill, and she really needed to think about something other than cleaning expenses.

“Alright then.” Standing up, she kept eye contact with him until she could sit next to him on the couch. Her heart beat with more anticipation than she thought it would. It was just a kiss with a friend, something she’d done many times before with both her male and female friends in the past. She released a breath.

“Close your eyes.” He followed her directions immediately.

Closing her own eyes, Sachika leaned forward until her lips gently pressed against Shouma’s. She lingered for a few seconds before pulling back. When her eyes opened again, she bit back a laugh at the expression on Shouma’s face. It was scrunched up in a way that made it clear that he was thinking hard but a little puzzled. One of his hands moved up to gently touch his own lips.

“Is that it?” he eventually asked.

“That’s it.”

“Huh. I thought it’d be more exciting.”

Now she allowed herself to laugh a little bit. “When you’re doing it with someone you like, a kiss can do more than what we just did.”

He looked pensive. “But you’re someone I like.”

She shook her head a little. “I mean, when you like them in an attracted way. When you find them attractive.”

“But I find you attractive.”

Sachika opened her mouth to respond, but nothing came out. That wasn’t something she’d ever expected Shouma to say to her. She instinctively wanted to argue the point with him, that he didn’t actually mean that. It wasn’t that she doubted that someone could find her attractive, not at all. It was just… Shouma. Before she could think more deeply about how to respond, he beat her to the punch.

“How would a kiss go if it was someone you like?”

Because yes, she considered him attractive and sometimes when he looked at her with pure delight she wanted to lean over and kiss him, not because she wanted their friendship to blossom into something different but because he was just so cute , and now he was sitting right there and her heart was still beating in anticipation and–

“If you’re still okay with it, I can show you what I mean.”

“Even though you’re not attracted to me?”

“I never said that,” she replied with an exhale. They stared at each other as she once again thought about how easy it was to kiss some of her other friends with no expectations, no strings attached. This didn’t have to be different, did it?

Sachika leaned back in until their lips were almost touching. “Follow my lead.” This time when she kissed Shouma, he kissed back, pressing forward to match her. Sachika broke the kiss for a second before leaning in for more. He was oddly still, which wouldn’t do, so she took a chance to lightly press her tongue between his lips. Shouma’s breath hitched as his mouth seemed to instinctively open more, letting her tongue rub against his before pulling back again, gently tugging at his bottom lip as she let go.

“Oh,” he said, opening his eyes. “Wait–”

Now it was his turn to lean into her, tongue gently probing when she widened her mouth to give him more access. He tasted sweet, which wasn’t a surprise considering how much candy he’d sneak over the course of a day, but it seemed that he’d been eating something lemony not too much earlier, the tartness dancing in her senses. Their breaths intermingled as they moved into her kisses, saliva turning sugary as it rolled over their tongues.

Shouma leaned over her and she twisted on the couch, sitting more properly as he climbed into her lap, diving right back in once they were both situated. He was more and more confident in his kissing as they continued, tongue moving fluidly instead of the strange wiggling he’d tried at the start. He’d followed the lead of her hands as well, going from keeping them straight at his sides to moving all over her body.

She continued to hold his face in one hand, the other making its way to the bottom of his sweatshirt. Shouma made a tiny sound when her fingers rubbed against his skin and he broke the kiss as he grabbed onto her wrist.

His eyes were wide, face flushed, chest rising as he tried to catch his breath. “Sorry,” he said, letting go of her.

“Too much?”

“It’s good. I’m just…”

Sachika gave him a soft smile. “That was a lot for your first time kissing someone, sorry that I got carried away.” She ran her fingers through his hair once before letting go of him completely, pushing on his thight lightly. He understood her movement and shifted so he was sitting right next to her on the couch again, hands moving down to fiddle with the bottom of his sweatshirt. Considering the fact that he’d literally just had his tongue in her mouth, he looked nervous, head falling to avoid eye contact.

“Umasho.”

“Hmm?”

She touched his shoulder. “Seriously, I’m sorry that I made you uncomfortable just now.”

Shouma shook his head. “I’m not uncomfortable, I just panicked because your fingers were so close to my gavv and I’ve never… explored that part of me.” He looked back up. “I’ve never felt anything like that and for as much as I’ve read about the human body since arriving here, I know almost nothing about gavvs, and it feels kind of weird now. Sorry.”

Sachika smiled, leaning forward to give him one last kiss. “You have nothing to apologize for, Umasho. Thank you for letting me give you an experience.” She climbed off the couch and stretched, trying to ignore the buzzing under her skin. “Man, I’m kinda hungry now, but I don’t feel like cooking. Wanna go to a ramen stand?”

Shouma’s eyes lit up. “Can we go to the one near that bakery?”

“That’s exactly what I was thinking.”

“We can get eclairs!”

Sachika laughed as Shouma got up to get his coat. He really was cute.
