Chapter Text
[Canon!Razzle’s POV]
What a completely normal day! Me and Dazzle were just doing our normal theatre exercises, which we totally aced. Though, while I was doing my part, I noticed Dazzle looking a bit… what’s that word.. distressed? Uncomfortable? Zoned out? Nevermind. I had to check up on him like the amazing twin brother I am. I slithered my head next to his on the other side. He still hasn’t noticed yet. He’s most likely zoned out. So I decided to give a little spook.
“Psst…” I whispered.
Dazzle flinched as he stared at me, startled. He looked like as if I was casually summoned from the ground like a demon from a ritual- wait no, I don’t think that makes sense… Oh well!
“R-RAZZLE..! WHAT THE HELL…” Dazzle yelped in a hushed tone.
“Sorry, brother.” I replied, before I felt my expression shift into one of concern. “You just looked out of it, do you wanna tell me what’s wrong?”
Dazzle looked away before looking back. “No… I’m fine, thank you.”
I thought to myself for a moment. I’m not sure if I should stop for Dazzle’s sake, but I still had to ask either way. “Do you wanna stop the exercises for today? There’s always tomorrow!”
I saw Dazzle nod, but it was subtle. So I took the control of our body and walked to our bed, where I sat the both of us down.
[Canon!Dazzle’s POV]
God, he’s too nice to me. I don’t know if I deserve it. I’ve always had this in my mind and I’m scared about how he’ll react if I told him about this. I somehow gathered up all of my courage to be able to tell him.
Here it goes…
“Razzle…?” I muttered softly.
Razzle perked up and turned his head at me, a caring glint visible in his eyes. “Yeah?”
“If you were to have the ability to be able to have any ability you ever wanted in exchange for my head… would you do it…?”
Razzle’s expression twisted to one of shock. “Dazzle? Where the hell did you get that from!?”
I felt tears start to form in my eyes. Not the tears I already have, those are just makeup. I was forming actual tears. How am I going to tell them this?
“A-A random kid said that you didn’t care about me and would cut my head off in exchange for a random ability…” I stuttered, trying not to break down.
I saw Razzle’s eyes softening as he wiped away my tears. “I bet that kid was just trying to make you feel miserable. Don’t listen to ANY of that, ‘kay? I love you a lot and I love having you as my twin brother, if anything, I’d never make that deal in the first place.” He said, his tone laced with genuine care.
“…I really needed that… thank you…” I muttered.
Razzle patted my head with the hand that’s on his side of our body. “You wanna go get some ice cream?”
Ice cream? Oh, of course he knows it’s my favorite treat. “…Sure.”
I see him grinning, probably because he saw the glint in my eyes when he offered to get me some ice cream. “Hehe!” He stood up WAY too fast. Someone’s excited. “There might be some ice cream in the fridge down in the kitchen, let’s go!” And with that, we rushed to the kitchen.
The floor was pretty empty for the most part as we walked down the hall. I wonder why… We made it to the kitchen and Razzle opened the freezer and immediately started scavenging for some ice cream. I looked around in the meanwhile, making sure no one is going to sneak up on us. I’m a bit scared of that, so whenever one of us are doing something, the other looks around to make sure no one tries to sneak up on us. It was still… eerily quiet. I hear Razzle closing the freezer and sighing in disappointment.
“We ran all out.” They sighed.
“We’re out?” I asked.
“We’re out.”
I looked down in disappointment sighing. “Aw man-“
Just then, a random clatter was heard from somewhere behind us. Razzle snapped his head towards the sound.
“What the hell.” They muttered quickly, confused.”
I slowly turned to where I thought I heard the sound. “…What was that?”
“Eh, it’s probably the pots and pans that Cosmo and Sprout’s dumbasses forgot to organize correctl-“
Before I could even glare at my brother, another sound was heard. This time, it was the stove somehow catching on fire. We both yelped and stepped back, our back against the wall. I was breathing heavily, feeling our heart beat rapidly against our chest. Why was it so sudden?
“Razzle, I’m scared…” I whispered to them.
“It’s okay, we’re together. We can get through this.” He smiled back, trying to comfort me. “Just breathe, okay?”
I did what they asked me to. I started to control my breathing, calming myself down. I felt Razzle’s hand pat me on the head again. God, do I deserve to have a twin brother like this?
“…Thank you Ra-“
Suddenly, I felt a hand cover my mouth. What the hell. I looked over to Razzle to see what happened. He had a hand covering his mouth as well. The hand blended in perfectly with the wall. Wait.. it’s a wall. How the hell are hands coming from a wall… That’s kinda freaky… I glanced at Razzle, scared, he glanced at me back.
And that was the only thing I remembered before my vision went dark.
