The firefight isn't going so hot.
The Maronis met with Two Face to handle a territorial dispute in a reasonable fashion, and unsurprisingly, negotiations broke down.
Now Jason is crouched in a corner, one bullet left in his Glock and bleeding from a bullet grazing his arm and a bullet wound in his thigh. He'll heal, but he has to get out of this mess first.
Then his vision is tinted green, and it's sure as fuck not pit rage.
A Green Lantern is using a green construct wall to shield them as he picks Jason up in his arms and flies into the Gotham sky.
Jason hates that without looking he'd still know which Lantern is carrying him. Being princess carried by Kyle is a sensation he couldn't forget if he tried.
For three years, he has tried his best to forget what it's like when Kyle gets protective and possessive over him, but like always, Kyle appears out of nowhere to remind him what it feels like and he's caught between exasperated, enraged and some other emotion he'd rather avoid identifying.
Kyle flies in through an apartment's livingroom window and sets him down on the couch, and Jason groans when he sees the easel setup in the corner.
"You are an idiot!" Kyle shouts as he uses construct robot hands to unfasten Jason's armor. He pulls Jason's jacket off a little too roughly and Jason grunts a feral growl through his teeth. "You're gonna get yourself killed one of these days and your epitaph is gonna read 'He was a fucking idiot'!"
"Not as idiotic as someone who moves to Gotham," Jason says as he shucks his tac pants off. "Does the Bat know you got a place here?"
"Don't know, don't care. Give me your arm."
Jason holds his arm out and really looks at Kyle. He's a harried mess. Jason hasn't seen him look like that in nearly a year.
Kyle holds up his fist and tightens it and suddenly pain burns around the bullet in Jason's thigh. "What the f—"
Kyle yanks his fist towards himself and the bullet comes flying out, spraying blood across the sofa before it clinks and bounces on the floor. Immediately, green bandaging packs and wraps the wound, but Jason doesn't even process that as his reflexes kick in.
Jason's combat dagger is at Kyle's throat in an instant, but Kyle's face contorts in rage, not fear. Go figure...
"That fucking hurt, asshole! You wanna die??!" Jason demands, hoping Kyle can't tell he's bluffing.
Jason doesn't even have time to process the green sheath wrapping around his dagger before Kyle's lips are on his. Jason's too stunned to move, but Kyle goes for it, taking Jason's jaw in his hand and delving his tongue in like it belongs there. Jason is humiliated when he moans around Kyle's tongue, but he can't stop himself from pulling Kyle over him as he leans backwards over the couch.
Kyle isn't going easy on him, kissing him hard in more ways than one, and Jason hisses in pain as Kyle spreads Jason's thighs. Kyle grunts against Jason's mouth and says, "I'll get you patched up first. Then, I'm going to rail you like you're my bitch. Because now, Jay? You are."
"Holy shit," Jason whispers in a breath before kissing Kyle again.
Despite Kyle's virile impatience, he takes gentle care of Jason as he cleans and dresses his wounds, bathes him with a soapy rag and lays Jason in his bed.
Jason's never done this before. Not with anyone. Roy likes to bottom and Lane prefers oral. Artemis offered to peg him once, but he's pretty sure it would not have been in a sexy way.
Kyle makes love to him like they're the loves of each other's life. He thought it'd be fast and hard, but Kyle's taking his time. When Kyle pushed his dick into Jason, Jason gasped from the pain and Kyle gasped from shock. "You're a virgin…." Kyle said in loving awe. Jason nodded, knowing what Kyle meant and it was like a light switch flipped. Kyle is thrusting into him in reverent adoration, fucking cherishing Jason while Jason just holds on tight and kisses Kyle's forearm where it's wrapped in front of Jason's face.
Jason doesn't get off. He really doesn't even think about it. Kyle's inside him and that's all that matters. When Kyle finally cums, throbbing inside Jason as he pumps his jizz into him, Jason feels a relief and satisfaction he never knew he needed.
Kyle stays hard. He doesn't flag one bit when he's done, just staying inside Jason and whispering, "Get comfy, idiot. I'm not going anywhere."
Jason smiles happily and hugs Kyle's arms around him.

There's a knock on Kyle's door and he groans in annoyance as he pulls out of Jason. Kyle grabs a pair of pajama pants from the floor and tugs them on before going to his front door to open it.
"Kyle!" Dick exclaims before rushing past him into the apartment and looking around. "Where's Jay?! Oracle said he was shot last night!!"
"He gets shot all the time," Kyle says grumpily as he shuts and locks the door. He sees Dick rush into the hallway and says, "Hey, don't go in there!" But it's too late. Jason is sitting up in bed and grunting as he stretches. The lube is still on the nightstand and Jason is still naked.
"Hey, dickface!" Jason spits as Dick stares in horror. "Take a picture, it will last longer."
Dick stumbles backwards and Kyle catches him as Dick nearly falls.
Kyle knew it might be a surprise, but not enough for Dick 'WTF is Gravity' Grayson to lose his balance.
"I– I need a minute," Dick chokes out as he runs out of the room.
Kyle ignores him and goes to give Jason a kiss. Jason pours his love into the kiss and Kyle can't believe he got so lucky. "I'm so sorry. I had no idea he'd just run into my bedroom."
"Take this as a cautionary tale. This is the kind of shit my family pulls daily. Like it or not, sleeping with me means they'll pull this shit on you too."
"I can handle myself," Kyle says with a wry grin. "You just chill. I'll handle Dick."
"Thanks, Bro," Jason says cheekily.
Kyle just laughs and walks out of the room. Figures Jason would be the kind of guy to call his lover 'Bro'.
Dick is not-quite-hyperventilating on Kyle's blood-stained couch and Kyle walks over to him and puts his hands on his hips. "That's what you get for running into a man's bedroom when he tells you not to."
Dick chuckles manically under his breath and says, "I've been to Vegas with Jason. That's nothing. What I'm freaked out about— Wait! Please tell me I'm just jumping to conclusions! That you didn't have sex!"
Kyle laughs and shakes his head before crouching to Dick's eye level, setting his hands on Dick's shoulders and whispering, "I popped your baby brother's cherry, Dick. What're you going to do about it? Tell Daddy on me?"
Dick shoves Kyle's hands away and growls, "He's your daddy too!"
Kyle tilts his head and scoffs. "That's insane! Is that your attempt at scaring me away? You're the one who told me I should move here to watch his back. Now I am, and if you don't like how I'm doing it, I got news for you: I love that idiot and I'm not gonna back off just because you—"
"Run a DNA test!" Dick snaps. "Take him to the Watchtower, do a paternity test for both of you against Batman and compare your results to each other's!"
Kyle laughs nervously. "Um, what? You're saying Batman's my dad. You're saying that Batman's his real dad."
Dick gets up, leans in towards Kyle's face once they both stand and says, "Run the tests, Kyle. I guarantee you Jay already did."
"Actually, I was just about to get another sample," Jason says from the hallway as he walks into the livingroom. "Sorry, Dick. Wayne boys only," then after a beat, "Grown Wayne boys only." Jason saunters over to give Kyle a passionate kiss and stare angrily at Dick. "Bye, Dickhead."
Kyle shows Dick out, returns to Jason and points at him accusingly. "You knew– no, thought we were brothers and… Jason. Why did you let me fuck you last night?"
"Because I love you. Besides, you kissed me first! Have you ever been kissed like that, by you? I'd have given you anything if you'd kept that up!"
Kyle pulls Jason into his arms and plops down on his couch, cradling his perfect idiot. He strokes his fingers through Jason's hair a few times and sighs happily when Jason wraps his arms around him and nuzzles his neck.
"We were pretty mean to Dick," Kyle mumbles.
"I'll send him a singing telegram and a fruit basket," Jason says absently. "Hey. Whatever we are, I've loved you for a long time and I'm not giving up."
"Yeah, 'Bro', I can tell," Kyle says as he rolls his eyes. "You thought I'd brother-zone you, so you went for it while you could. With you, Jay? I'd have done the same exact thing. So we're cool. Boyfriends, brothers, fuckbuddies, whatever. I still love you, I think you're an idiot, sometimes I want to punch you, but most of the time, I just want to fuck you. Same for you?"
Jason heaves a genuine laugh and says, "Yeah, Big Bro. Exact same."
Just to play into it, Kyle traps Jason in a headlock and rubs his knuckles against his hair.

"I found out last week. I wanted to tell you myself," Bruce says formally, sitting in his study with Kyle. Right now, there's no edge of the gruffness Batman has, and Bruce is actually showing emotions: guilt, loss, pride, love… all things Kyle never expected from Batman.
But he did hope to see them from his father.
"What did Grayson tell you?" Kyle asks. Yes, he wants to hug, scream at, hang out with and reconnect with his dad, but right now, he has to know where they're at.
Bruce gives him a cocky smile, "Enough to know I need to prepare two shovel talks. But honestly, I'm happy you're keeping each other safe, and what goes on in your bedroom is none of my business."
"Well, that's a relief," Kyle says as the tension drains from his shoulders. "So, what do we do now?"
"I'd like you to stay. In Gotham, I mean. We can set up a room for you here at the manor, and if… if you'd like, you are welcome to take my name and be Kyle Wayne."
Kyle's jaw drops.
"You don't have to decide overnight. This is a big step, and I know I haven't earned your trust yet."
"We've fought battles together. We've saved each other's lives in them. I'd say trust isn't an issue. At least not on my end." Probably not on Bruce's end either since he gave up his secret identity to Kyle.
Bruce smiles in relief and pulls Kyle into a hug. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you, Kyle. I'm here now, and I'll always be here for you…son."
Kyle hugs back tight and just enjoys this – a genuine hug from his real dad. Ever since his mom died, he thought he didn't have any family. Seven years later, he has a dad and two brothers (five if Tim, Dick and Duke count).
"Thanks, Dad. I missed you. Even not knowing who you were, I missed you."
Kyle's ring glows brightly and without hesitating, Kyle releases the hug to answer the call.
"Carol!"
Carol Ferris's holographic face appears above Kyle's ring and she is freaked. "Kyle, I need you to get to Gotham! There's another ring bearer and I can't contact or locate her! Somehow she hacked her ring and scrambled all the security protocols."
Kyle and Bruce make eye contact.
"What color?" Kyle asks trepidatiously.
"Violet," Carol huffs. "It happened about thirty minutes ago, but there's no reason I can't find her. Whoever she is, she's a fast learner. I've had my ring for over a decade and I couldn't have even fathomed scrambling my location data like this."
Kyle looks up, suddenly realizing Bruce hasn't stopped staring into his eyes. "I'll check it out, but I need to know something – do Star Sapphire rings still seek out the partners of Green Lanterns?"
Carol gives him a curious look. "Whoever she is, she would still have to earn the ring on her own merits, but traditional protocols would favor someone in love with a Green Lantern. Kyle? Do you have something to tell me?"
"Not yet. I have to check this out first," Kyle says quickly before hanging up. He looks up to Bruce's intense expression and says, "Do you think Jason would be able to hack—"
"—Yes."
Kyle winces under Batman's glare. Bruce may have hugged him, but clearly Batman was the one to listen to his conversation with Carol. "I'll just… give him a call."
"You do that."
Kyle shines with green light as his suit materializes in place of his other clothes. He stands against a bookshelf and tries his ring first.
The call is immediately answered, and Jason's face shows up as a hologram over his ring.
Jason's pouting.
"Aw, come on, Bro! I don't want you to see me yet! I'm still working on my costume design!"
Kyle sighs with relief that Jason's safe. "Are you still in Gotham?"
"Right upstairs. I thought you were getting the heart to heart from Dad, and I thought I should be here."
Kyle notices as Bruce inhales sharply with happy, wide eyes when Jason calls him 'Dad'. Kyle smirks. "Yeah, I'm with Dad right now. I'm gonna be a Wayne. How about you?"
"As if I could resist having four first names," Jason says with an easy grin. "So, cool thing about this suit: I can make it assless."
Bruce's expression drops from elated to horrified in that single word and Kyle starts laughing his ass off. "I won't let him go assless if I have to follow him around with a construct censor box," Kyle tells Bruce. Bruce hasn't relaxed yet, but he no longer looks like he just found out his precious child is going to galavant through the night mooning all of Gotham, so Kyle's counting it a win.
"Save that for me and Roy," Kyle says to Jason.
"And Lane!" Jason says happily. "Have you met Lane? He's Kon's older brother. He's awesome. Total dick though."
"Nah, you'll have to introduce us," Kyle says as Bruce puts his face in his hands. "Get your suit figured out, then we'll head to Cali. We need to meet with Carol. Love you, Baby Bro!"
"Love you too, Big Bro. Come up to my room in like, twenty minutes."
They both hang up and Kyle gives Bruce another hug before any potential lectures start. He just 'met' his dad, dammit! Bruce is getting twenty minutes worth of hugs!

"I need to step up my game…." Kyle mutters as he takes in the view of Jason as a Violet Lantern.
The outfit is plum purple and black with deep violet shimmering through the entire suit, even his skin and hair. His torso is bare, his chest, back and abs on full display. His bulging, muscled arms and shoulders are sleeved in matte metallic light plum purple with musou black designs of large, thorned roses winding diagonally around them. On each of his deltoids is the Star Sapphire star in dark plum purple bordered in a thin black outline. His sleeves end in v-shaped cuffs that partially cover the backs of his hands, and centered there are dark plum purple Star Sapphire stars with thin outlines of musou black. His bare chest has a large, light plum purple Star Sapphire star embossed like armor over his sternum, drawing the eye to magnificent muscle cleavage Kyle could go spelunking in. On Jason's back between his shoulderblades is the same raised Star Sapphire star, but it looks a bit smaller (though Kyle knows that could just be an optical effect from Jason's enormous musculature). There is also a smaller one closer to the base of Jason's back.
It takes a moment for Kyle to realize the designs of thorned roses continue seamlessly from his sleeves and black pants and covers his exposed skin, shifting from musou black on his sleeves into translucent plum purple over his skin and opaque dark plum purple over his black pants. His dark plum purple boots are a little too thick and heavy to be combat boots, but they're close and his thick, muscular thighs have dark plum purple gun holsters with his Glocks in them. There's a dark plum purple double dagger sheath just below his knee on his right leg holding what look like a sixteen inch dirk and an eight inch dirk. He has a sleek, black utility belt around his waist.
Most strikingly, his hair is in a lush fade and matte metallic dark plum purple with a subtle pink-violet sheen, his irises nearly glow in vivid bright purple with pink-violet starbursts and he isn't wearing a mask. Instead, his face is slightly different, nose a little straighter and more symmetric, eyebrows a little fuller and sharper and his cheekbones, brow and jaw just a bit more chiseled.
Without the mask, he's wearing a deep purple jaw guard that's sleek enough to show off his face, but embossed over his skin enough to add an element of manliness to Jason's already overwhelming masculinity.
Kyle takes a few deep breaths, then takes Jason in his arms and possessively runs his hands up and down his body, feeling his arms, his abs, his waist, his back and his chest, all with a thigh pressed between Jason's legs before gripping the underside of each asscheek and slamming their bodies together as he growls, "Mine!" and sucks a hickey on Jason's neck.
Jason just smirks confidently and holds his big brother close, humming happily and softly moaning endearments. Looks like Jason's attention to detail paid off. Maybe he can convince Kyle to put off their trip to California. Jason wants to give his strong, gorgeous Green Lantern all the love he deserves from his very own Star Sapphire.
«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»
Jason forgot what California is like. He forgot what Los Angeles is like. The weather is amazing compared to Gotham and even in his Violet Lantern uniform, nobody in this part of town even gives him a second look. One old lady he helps across the street (because he's not a bag of dicks) asks when his Le Cirque show is performing. He tells her he's not a performer and she says, "Keep following your dream, sweetheart. You'll get there."
Eventually, he catches sight of a familiar face that isn't Kyle and traps him in violet chains, wrapping him up like a burrito before he has the chance to bolt.
"Kon-El," Jason says with a satisfied smirk.
"Well, this is awkward," the Kryptonian says nervously.
Jason touches the Kryptonian's cheek flirtatiously because Kon's a complete tease and two can play at that game, but suddenly he's seeing a vision, almost like a dream, of Kon watching Earth after Earth be destroyed and shouting in tears as his own is erased from existence. He sees Kon at his funeral and six months later, the relief on Kon's face when he brought Jason back to life.
The violet chains are gone when Jason pulls his hand back.
"Wow. This is awkward. …Prime?"
The Kal-El Prime nods. "I just came to visit Match while he's on vacation here. I'll just—"
"You saved my life," Jason blurts out. "I didn't know it was you."
Kal just looks at him sadly. "I'm just glad you're doing better. See you around, Jay."
"We could hang out," Kyle suddenly says. "Jason and I have a thing this evening, but until then, we're free."
Jason catches Kyle's blush and decides to roll with it.
"Yeah, Prime, come hang out with us!" Jason says cheerfully. "Match can come too."
"No, I…" Kal takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "...lied. I lied. Match is with J.S. at the farm. I was just… keeping an eye on things."
Jason raises a curious, seductive eyebrow and Kyle takes both of their hands. "Let's find someplace quiet to talk," Kyle says smoothly. "I think there's a lot to talk about."
They head over to a nearby park and sit down at a picnic table to talk.
"So…" Jason says as he looks at Kal, "Keeping an eye on things?"
"You had a close call a couple of nights ago. I wasn't there. Sorry about that."
Jason's brow creases as he thinks.
"The Maronis have been very accommodating lately," Jason says meaningfully. "You have anything to do with that?"
Kal shuffles his feet. "They were going to take a hit out on you. I told them they'd be better off getting on your good side."
Jason nods, and to almost anybody else it would seem he's nonplussed, but Kal can hear his heart flutter, can smell his pheromonal changes and see the microexpressions that barely slip through his Bat-trained façade.
Then Jason gives himself away by glowing violet. "Damn it," he says under his breath. Kyle takes Kal's hand in his on the table.
"So, I know you're into my little brother. I could give you a shovel talk or we could go on a date. The three of us."
Kal scoffs and takes back his hand. "Keep trying, Rayner. I'm not that easy."
Kyle curses under his breath, but gives Kal a charming smile. "I'll need your number if I'm going to keep trying."
Kal rolls his eyes playfully and pulls out his phone. "Here. Go text yourself."
Jason laughs and says, "I should've thought of that!"
Kyle scoots closer to Kal as Jason takes Kal's hand and looks into his eyes.
"Thank you for saving me, Kal-El. Y'know… if you wanna 'keep an eye on things', you can do it up close. Come in next time. Have a drink with us or watch TV or whatever. And it's not like it'd be weird for the new Violet Lantern to have Superboy Prime watching his back."
Superboy Prime squeezes Jason's hand and smiles. "Sure, Jay. I'll stick around. Maybe I'll even sweep your dumbass big brother off his feet after I play hard to get."
Kyle grins up at them as he hands Kal his phone back. "Sounds like a great plan! Are you guys up for dinner or coffee or anything?"
"Sure," Kal says as he floats up from his seat. "There's a superhero-themed bar with fantastic coffee a few blocks away."
Jason and Kyle float up into the air with him and follow Superboy Prime to get their coffee fix.
«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»ж«ж»
Carol is sitting at her desk in her home office with an unimpressed yet amused smile.
The pink tiara Jason is wearing isn't part of his suit. It's actually a cheap piece of plastic he got from happy hour after slamming his fifth shot at the superhero bar. Today was a Batman-themed day, but they gave Jason the Star Sapphire tiara once Jason admitted to being a real Violet Lantern. It's based on Carol's old tiara and no one but Carol can truly appreciate the absurdity Jason is embracing.
The plastic Batman facemask with the bat ears looks particularly silly on Kyle and he's giving his most dashing smile from behind it, enhancing his visage of silliness. Kal flew home to put his super shirt on and now he's wearing a red T-shirt with the S-shield on it in blue over black jeans. Kyle has a sneaking suspicion that Kal's shirt is three sizes too small because how else do Kal's muscles bulge through the shirt that much? His hair also looks freshly pomaded and his spit curl and blazing blue eyes mark him as one of the Supermen, clear as day. The dusting of stubble on his jaw is striking and manly, and Carol can tell who Kal's dressed up nice for.
An easy smirk forms on Carol's face as she turns her attention back to Jason. "So you're the one who's been hacking the Star Sapphire network and driving me crazy."
"Depends on who's asking," Jason says playfully. "Yeah, I just wanted to figure some of this out on my own before having to deal with everything. Kyle says I'm learning fast."
Carol nods. "Extremely fast. I'll take you out for a test run and we'll see what you can do. Right now we're just going to go over the basics: our history, purpose, abilities, limitations, purviews, obligations and traditions. I know you've most likely heard Batman's version of some of this, but for now, forget everything Batman has ever said or done. He doesn't know shit about Zamaronian culture or the makings of a good Star Sapphire." Jason nods and Carol continues, "Your powers are strongest when you're protecting someone you love. They're at their second strongest when you're avenging someone you love. I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm here to help you understand all of this. Batman doesn't kill. I get that. But if the situation calls for it, that is your call. Nobody else's. If you use your powers to benefit others and you do so out of genuine love, I don't see the problem with doing what needs to be done. That said, a lot of our training is emotional in nature and we do our best to heal and protect without violence."
"I can see why the ring chose you, Jay," Kal says encouragingly.
"No doubt," Kyle says as he wraps an arm over Jason's shoulders.
"Indeed," says Carol, "But now we all need to be honest with each other. Kyle. Kal-El. Do you have something you want to share with the class?"
Kyle's jaw drops as Kal mutters, "Bitch…" under his breath.
"How did you know?!" Kyle asks, almost in fear.
"Anyone want to fill me in?" Jason demands. "What are you two hiding from me?"
"From everyone," Kal says as he holds up his hand. His innocuous-looking silver class ring shifts and glows with darkness. "I never gave up my Black Lantern ring."
Kyle doesn't know why that makes Kal seem even hotter to him, but it does.
"I never gave up any of my rings," Kyle says softly. "Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet and White. I gave up my green ring once and it was a terrible mistake. I swore I'd never make that mistake again."
Carol nods in satisfaction. "Good. We're all on the same page. Jason, Black Lanterns and White Lanterns may be opposites, but White Lanterns have access to all the powers of the spectrum and Black Lantern rings can imitate any color Ring of Power except White. Kal and Kyle have your abilities, Jason, and I want the three of you to practice together when you can. Your different perspectives may give you insight that will help you in the field."
Kal smirks, flexes his closed fist and is immediately wearing a black cut-off T-shirt with the Blue Lantern emblem on his chest. His tac pants are that same bold, electric dark blue and his black combat boots have matching blue shoelaces. On his right bicep is the 8-shield of Krypton and on his left bicep is the Blue Lantern emblem, both inked in the same bold, electric dark blue and outlined in black.
"Hope is kinda my thing," Kal says as his black ring shifts into a Blue Ring of Power. "I've been practicing with this a lot."
Kyle barely registers that his ring is charging and glowing because he can't take his eyes off of how amazing Kal is. "Marry me…" he helplessly mutters under his breath. It looks like Carol and Jason missed it, but Kal's eyes dart to Kyle and bore into his eyes.
"Buy me dinner first, you cad," Kal deadpans.
Kyle nods enthusiastically, not even taken aback by the clear sarcasm, because Kal didn't say 'no'.
Kal gives him a cocky smirk and says, "I'll take Kyle flying while you two talk about Violet Lantern stuff.
"She's Star Sapphire," Jason says confidently. "I'm Violet Lantern."
