Her phone buzzed on the table as she finishes washing the dishes.
Childe is calling.
She smiles softly as she wipes down her wet hands on her clothes while she reaches for her phone to answer.
"Hey! Whatchu doinnnn?"
She wonders if whenever she answers the phone, will he also be smiling on the other end of the phone?
"Nothing much, just finished washing the dishes. What about you? Watchu doinnn?"
"Haha copycat" She bet he can feel the eyeroll she just did through the phone, "But, I was doing nothing, was just bored and wanted to call you"
She can practically imagine the way he smiled when he realizes how annoying he is right now.
"God, Childe, is this what you do in your freetime? Hahaha" She laughs as she leans on the kitchen island.
"Well gotta go! Just wanted to check in on you"
"Well, thank you for checking up on me"
She puts down the phone from her ear and stares at the end call screen that's displaying on her phone.
As soon as the call ended she sents a message.
Lumine: Hey, I know this is a bit random. But have I ever been annoying to you?
It has always been on her mind that maybe she might be the one annoying him
Childe: What do you mean!!!!
Childe: I should be the one asking that!!
Childe: Who si the one that calls you in random times?
Lumine: Touché
Lumine: I hope it stays that way

She stares at her phone as she laid on her bed, another day another scrolling through her social medias. She stares blankly on the stories of her friends online, but suddenly something made her sat straight up
Childe: Dude
She stares at the notification and proceeded to read the second message
Childe: I think I'm in love.
Her heart sank, already?
She feigns a smile, typing out the words that first thing that comes to mind. Hoping deeply inside that it's her
Lumine: Oh really!
Her heart sank as she received the text
Childe: You won't believe it but it's the girl from Inazuma!
She knew. She knew from the start that she can never have a chance with him. But she hoped that maybe at least once in his life that he actually chose her
As much as she wishes it was her, she knows deep inside despite all those late night and deep talks, he would always choose the girl who he met for a couple of weeks over her
