Chapter Text
The ocean is a giver.
She is a gentle thing.
She will guide you along the shore with her rivers, her daughters that eventually rejoin her.
She will send fish into your nets with her currents, and help you cross her vast expanse.
She will help you learn to swim in her waters, take your hand and show you the beauty of her world, before putting you back safely where you belong.
The ocean is a loving mother.
She has many daughters, and she will take care of you just like she would one of her own.
You are not one of her own.
It does not matter to her.
She will love you all the same.
And maybe you'll end up with water in your lungs.
And maybe you'll get to see wonders beyond imagination.
And maybe you'll be terrified.
But she will hold your hand.
Even when you desperately thrash against her hold.
The ocean is a gentle thing.
She is a giver.
She will send you gifts that wash ashore, trinkets lost by others and lovingly returned to you.
She will lap her waves playfully at your feet, bringing with them shells and shiny things.
She will be a quiet listener in the night, letting you cry into her endless waters until all your worries go away.
She will hold you tight, and never, ever let you go.
