Chapter Text
She woke up right at the dusk of dawn, tangled in the sheets within his bedroom, subconsciously drawing closer to the warmth beside her.
She felt some tingling at her nose, and concluded that her face must be nesting at the crown of his head. She inhaled softly, taking in his scent and her breath seemed to make one of his furred ears flicker slightly.
With her eyes still closed, she nuzzled towards it, quite enjoying how soft and velvety it felt. Without much thinking—because her mind was still drowsy from sleep—she caught it between her teeth gently, before nibbing at it.
Alastor stirred.
At first, only a breath—quiet, disrupted.
Then a low, involuntary hum, deep in his chest, not unlike a purr wrapped in static. His arm, already draped around her waist, pulled her in just a little tighter, claws gently grazing her spine in a slow, absent rhythm.
The ear twitched again, more deliberately this time.
“Careful…” his voice rasped, velvet-rough from disuse, amusement barely tucked beneath the sleep-thick edge. “That’s a very sensitive part of me you’ve decided to menace, my dear.”
He didn’t move away though. If anything, the flicker of his ear under her teeth, the warmth of her body curling closer into his, seemed to lull him further into that rare, relaxed state he rarely allowed himself in daylight. Vulnerability came easily here — in the hush between night and the city’s chaos.
She gave a quiet hum, not letting go.
“Mm,” she murmured into his ear, voice slurred with sleep. “Didn’t realize your weak spots were so… adorable.”
Alastor scoffed softly, the sound a low glitch of amusement.
“Adorable? Hm. That’s dangerous talk, madame. You’ll ruin my reputation.”
She finally released the ear with a soft nip and settled her face deeper into his hair, letting her legs tangle more securely with his under the weight of the sheets.
“I think your reputation will survive one morning of being nibbled,” she whispered, lips brushing where his antler met the base of his head, before her murmur reached his ears.
"Do you feel anything around your antlers.... Or are they just bone?"
Alastor was still for a moment after her question — not with tension, but with something more deliberate, almost wary. His breath came in a slow exhale, warm against her collarbone. She could feel the twitch of muscle beneath her palm where it rested against his side, the way his claws briefly flexed against her spine before softening again.
“…They’re not just bone,” he replied, voice rough and low, as if the words had to be coaxed out of a space he rarely visited. “Not entirely. They’re alive, in a way. Especially this time of year.”
She remained quiet after his answer, her breath warming the base of one antler as her gaze traced its strange, living texture. She propped herself up on one elbow just enough to peer at the antlers properly in the soft red morning light.
And now that she was looking more closely, she could see it — the slight unevenness. Tiny, patchy scrapes where the velvet had already begun to slough off, like shedding bark on old wood. Almost imperceptible. But now she couldn't unsee it.
She reached out, slow and careful, resting her fingers lightly at the base of one antler.
Alastor tensed.
Not violently — not like he used to tense when anyone reaching near his face would’ve lost a hand — but a stillness took him. Alert. Waiting.
She paused, her fingers hovering.
He said nothing.
But he didn’t pull away.
So she touched him.
Very gently, she let her fingertips stroke along the base of the antler, where it met scalp and velvet fur. His breath hitched. Not a gasp — a reaction, unguarded and sharp. The kind of sound he made when caught between restraint and sensation.
She tilted her head slightly, watching him.
“Here?” she murmured, and moved her nails in a light, scratching motion — just barely enough pressure to test.
His entire frame went taut under her.
Then— a long, shuddering exhale.
His eyes fluttered closed. She felt the pulse in his chest under her hand begin to pick up.
“Yes,” he rasped, voice so low it sounded like it was being broadcast from a long-dead radio frequency. “There.”
And then, as if unbidden by his will, one of the antlers twitched sharply in her hand.
Followed by the other.
She pulled back only an inch, startled by the way they moved, but she didn't retreat. Her hand returned, this time a little more confident, tracing the curve as it lifted — not just in her hand, but in form. Changing.
Before her eyes, the modest buck-like antlers she had grown used to these last months began to stretch, elongate — subtle at first, then undeniable. Each second that passed, they sharpened — growing longer, heavier, more menacing. She could see the velvet peeling in certain places now, cracked and flaking, like old skin. One small patch near the tip was wet, as though something had only just been torn free.
She heard his breath again — shallow, rough. His body didn’t move, but his claws clenched the sheets behind her, twisting them in silence. Static crackled faintly around his shoulders, like a barely-contained storm.
She whispered, “Is this why you don’t let anyone touch them?”
Alastor’s voice came out thick, guttural.
“Partially... yes.”
Another heartbeat passed, and then: “Because I lose control.”
She said nothing — only resumed her scratching, carefully, attentively, dragging her nails just so along a raw patch near the base. His whole body shivered. It wasn’t just sensation — it was relief. He had been bearing this itch, this growing pressure, without addressing it. Perhaps because he couldn’t. Because it was undignified. Unclean. Too close to instinct.
But now — with her — he let it happen.
His antlers flared wider, now stag-like, arching above them like twisted, regal crowns.
She shifted, sitting up just enough to lean over him more fully, one hand braced beside his head, the other carefully continuing her slow ministrations. She could feel the tension under his skin, every muscle drawn tight as though restraining not violence, but need. A need to rub, to shed, to move. A need denied for far too long.
He was shaking.
Not in pain.
In restraint.
Because it was taking everything in him not to roll over, drag her down, and grind those antlers against something, anything, just to satisfy the burning itch that had been growing for days.
“Say the word,” she said softly, fingers still tracing. “And I’ll stop.”
But Alastor didn’t answer.
His hands found her hips instead — firm, grounding. Not possessive. Not seductive.
Just present.
Then he let out a low, unfiltered growl — one that vibrated through her thighs where she sat astride him.
“Don’t stop.”
The words were a surrender.
An admission.
An opening he would never offer to anyone else.
And his wife, with that same quiet reverence he once showed her body in life, leaned in close and pressed her lips to the base of one antler — not a kiss of seduction, but one of belonging.
“Then let me help you shed,” she whispered.
It was too much.
And not enough.
Her nails dragged slowly along the velvet of his antlers, and it sent electricity through his skull, down his spine, curling like barbed wire around the base of his need. He’d meant to endure it — her touch, her curiosity, the unspoken intimacy of being seen like this. But now—
His jaws clenched, fangs biting into the inside of his cheek. She didn’t stop.
She scratched again, deliberately, delicately — and his hips jerked upward beneath her without his permission. A stifled, guttural sound tore from his throat — half-growl, half moan. His claws dug into her thighs, the tips piercing skin through her shift. Not deep, but enough to mark. Enough to feel her pulse jump beneath his grip.
Fuck.
The itch had become something more.
He needed to scrape. To thrash. To tear. The antlers pulsed — alive, flaring wider, taller, stretching upward with his hunger. The velvet split in patches. Blood wept in thin, dark lines along the bone.
“Stop,” he rasped — and didn’t mean it.
Because she didn’t.
Her fingers found a raw seam and raked slowly across it, peeling a small strip away — deliberate, gentle, cruel in how precise it was. His head snapped back into the pillow, breath shuddering, hips grinding up into her. He couldn’t help it. Couldn’t stop it. His body knew what it wanted — and it was all tangled up in blood, scent, possession.
He snarled low in his throat, claws dragging down her thighs as he fought the urge to flip her — to press her into the mattress, antlers gouging the headboard as he rutted like an animal until the ache left him.
But he didn’t.
He wouldn’t.
She wanted to help — and some flicker of reason in him let her.
But gods, it was agony.
“Darling,” he growled, voice warped, static crackling from the base of his throat. “I’m going to hurt you if you don’t—”
“Then do it,” she whispered. “You’re already trembling.”
She leaned closer, her mouth brushing his temple. Her nails traced another rip in the velvet.
And tore.
Alastor moaned.
Not from pain. Not even from pleasure. But from the sheer, devouring relief of it. His head jolted — nearly scraping her as his antlers flared upward, a fresh wave of blood trickling down along the newly exposed bone. His eyes snapped open, glowing crimson, wide and wild.
And fuck, he was hard.
Harder than he’d ever been.
It was overwhelming. His mind split — one part lucid, aware of her scent, her warmth, her presence — and the other part a thing made of instinct, of lust, of itch and blood and territory. The pressure of his arousal throbbed against her through the sheets, the ache so sharp it bordered on pain.
He growled again, dragging her down with one hand on the back of her neck, pressing her body flush against his, grinding up into her with a violent roll of his hips. His claws scraped her ribs, scoring across her back, thin red lines blooming and healing slow. He didn’t mean to hurt her. But it didn’t matter.
They were in Hell. They didn’t break.
“I need—” he tried, but couldn’t finish.
She shushed him.
And pulled again.
The velvet came away in thick, wet strips now. Dark, sticky, clinging to her fingers like half-dried sap. He shook beneath her, gasping through his teeth, hips rutting into her as the bloodied remnants of the velvet peeled from the points of his antlers.
He couldn’t hold back anymore. His hips bucked again, harder this time, dragging a low moan from his chest as the base of his antlers flared with fresh blood and new air.
He was burning.
She was his anchor.
And he was barely—barely—still holding back from devouring her whole.
He couldn’t remember the last time he trembled like this.
Not from fear. Not even from fury.
But from the unbearable, exquisite tension winding through every inch of him — muscles locked, breath shallow, vision red with flickering pulse and flame.
Her fingers, slick now with blood and velvet, worked with the precision of someone tending a sacred rite. Her hands — so gentle once, now covered in the raw proof of his unmaking — continued their careful, merciless task.
And he...
He could barely think.
His hips moved on their own, grinding into her thighs in slow, primal thrusts — nothing fast, nothing frantic, just a desperate friction, chasing relief. The pleasure spiraling through his body wasn’t even sexual in the usual sense. It was deeper. Rooted. Rutting. The echo of something instinctual buried in his form — a demon’s need to be shed, reborn, seen.
Her body soaked up his heat. Her skin burned where he touched it. His claws gripped her hips with enough force to leave fingerprints in blood — unintentional, but not unwelcome.
She didn’t pull away. Didn’t flinch.
Only focused.
And gods, that — that made it worse.
She was above him, straddling him, controlling the rhythm of this grotesque, sacred shedding. And yet, she denied herself. He felt it — the way her thighs clenched, the way her breath hitched when he ground into her. The way she wanted... but wouldn’t take.
She bit her lip.
His head tipped back, antlers arching like a cathedral above them, and he moaned again — this time wordless, unraveling. One final strip of velvet hung, clinging by a stubborn, raw edge at the tallest point. His eyes flashed open. Glowing. Frantic.
“My darling,” he choked, voice shattering with static. “It’s—please, just—do it.”
And she did.
She reached, fingers trembling just slightly from the effort of holding herself together, and pulled.
The last piece tore free.
His breath stopped.
The pain was brief. Bright. Liberating.
He collapsed beneath her — not limp, but overwhelmed, a taut line finally snapping. Blood slid in slow rivulets down the newly bared antlers, gleaming sharp and true. For the first time since shedding began, they stood fully exposed — large, regal, monstrous. His true form. His crown.
And she...
She stared at the strip in her hand.
Slick, warm, trembling slightly with his power.
He watched her — chest rising hard against her thighs, still pulsing between them, still aching.
She held it there for a heartbeat, uncertain.
Then—
She brought it to her lips.
Alastor’s eyes widened, breath catching in his throat as she placed the bloodied velvet into her mouth and bit.
It was instinct, not reason. A claiming of her own. A response to everything primal and unspoken that had passed between them in the dark. She chewed once, twice. Swallowed.
Something inside him snapped.
He surged up, seizing her in his arms, dragging her down to him in a violent, trembling kiss. It was not gentle. It was not controlled. His mouth tasted of blood and static and breathless gratitude. His claws tangled in her hair, down her back, pulling her flush against the full, painful ache of his desire.
“Mine,” he growled into her mouth — hoarse, desperate, true. “my darling, mine.”
He didn’t ask. Didn’t need to.
Because she had just devoured a part of him.
Because now, there was nothing between them. No mask. No hesitation. Only two monsters, tangled in blood and instinct and need.
He had never felt like this.
Not in life.
Not in death.
Not even in his rise to power, when the blood of a hundred sinners baptized his hooves and he laughed louder than the fires could scream.
This—
This was something else.
His darling wife had always stirred things in him that no one else could: desire where there should have been calculation, attachment where there should have been cold efficiency. But this?
This was need.
Full-bodied. Bone-deep.
Rutting.
It wasn’t romantic.
It wasn’t theatrical.
It was chemical. Instinctual. Raw.
And it was hers to answer.
The moment she swallowed that final piece of him — that bloodied strip of velvet that marked the last boundary of his control — something inside him broke loose.
He kissed her like he was starved. No more measured charm. No more gentleman’s mask. His mouth clashed with hers in a mess of breath and teeth, and his hands — claws — gripped her so hard they tore thin, stinging lines across her back as he dragged her flush against the hardness that throbbed violently against her inner thigh.
“Mine,” he growled again, voice thick with static, the words vibrating against her throat as he bit down — not hard, not yet, just enough to feel. Enough to claim.
And then he moved.
With a speed and strength she rarely saw from him outside violence, he flipped their positions, pinning her beneath him with his body caging hers. His antlers curved above them, casting long, jagged shadows across the walls. His eyes — crimson and wild — never left hers.
“Tell me you’re still sure,” he rasped, clawed fingers hooked beneath her knees now, dragging her legs around his waist. His hips trembled with restraint. Barely.
She nodded, lips parted, her voice wrecked with anticipation.
“I want this.”
And with that, Alastor gave in.
He rutted against her with brutal rhythm, grinding his full weight between her thighs. Not entering, not yet — but pressing, claiming, driving every throb of his desire against her in a rhythm so primal it silenced thought.
Her shift tore under his claws as he reached for her breast, palm flat and firm, a groan escaping him as he felt her — warm, soft, real. His teeth found her shoulder, biting deep enough to draw blood, his growl vibrating through her skin as the taste hit his tongue.
Her blood.
He licked it away, moaning low into the wound as her fingers tangled in his hair and antlers alike. Her moans spurred him further, and his hips bucked with less precision now, wild, feral, grinding until every nerve lit up and his eyes rolled back in sheer, painful ecstasy.
He whispered something — in French, in static, in nothing — words lost to the haze of rut and blood.
Then he pulled back — just enough — and looked down at her, panting, frame trembling with the last shreds of his restraint.
“I'm going to take you,” he whispered hoarsely, claws gently framing her face. “But if I do… I won’t be able to stop. Not until it’s over.”
He waited. Eyes wild. Unblinking.
And despite her breath hitching slightly, she nodded.
"Please... I never saw you like this. But I want to feel it. Alastor, please... Take me and make me yours in every sense."
Her words settled into him like a match thrown into dry kindling.
For a moment, he didn’t move.
He simply breathed, staring down at her, wide-eyed, stunned, as if her voice had finally given him permission to be something he'd spent years caging. Something older than words. Older than love.
And then he moved.
Not with violence.
With purpose.
He gripped her thighs — claws dimpling the flesh, not slicing now, but owning it — and pressed forward, finally pushing inside her in one deep, unhesitating thrust that stole the breath from both of them. Her gasp hit his mouth, and he swallowed it with a groan, burying himself fully against her body as though he needed her to anchor him to reality.
The rhythm that followed was no performance. No practiced waltz of lovemaking. It was driven — fast, brutal, but precise, as if his body had known this dance before he was born. The way her breath stuttered, how her nails raked down his back, only fed the fire inside him.
The sound of skin against skin, of claws against sheets, filled the air alongside the low static crackle of his power — bleeding out at the edges as his antlers throbbed and twitched above them.
He buried his face against her throat, tongue tasting the blood from where he'd bitten earlier. He growled into it, rutting into her harder now, letting himself lose control in small, vicious pulses. His claws left fine slices down her sides, her thighs, her hips — none deep enough to scar in this realm, but enough to mark.
Her legs wrapped around him, holding tight as she met every thrust with her own need, her own strength, and that — that — only drove him further.
He bit again, lower this time, just above her heart. Not to hurt. To claim.
And when he drew back to look at her — face flushed, lips parted, blood smeared like warpaint where he’d marked her — he saw something he hadn’t let himself believe he’d ever see again:
She was his.
Completely.
And not because she was weak.
But because she had chosen this.
Chosen him.
Again.
He snarled, gripping her wrists and pinning them above her head, using the leverage to rut deeper, harder, faster. The pressure built so violently in his spine and belly that he shook with it — every nerve alive, every movement wrapped in the need to empty himself inside her, over and over, until the storm passed.
And yet—
Even in the heat, he watched her.
Her face. Her breath. Her body.
Making sure she was still with him.
Making sure she wanted every brutal second of it.
And she did. He felt it in the way she clenched around him, in the way her head tossed and her back arched and her voice, when it finally returned, rasped his name like a plea and a prayer.
He roared when he came — low, guttural, shaking with it, like something had been torn from him and thrust into her body with every pulse. His antlers slammed against the wall, chipping stone. His claws gouged the bedframe behind her head.
And still, he didn’t stop.
Not immediately.
Because the rut wasn’t over.
Not until her body gave out.
Not until she was drenched in his blood and sweat and power.
Not until she couldn’t speak without remembering who she belonged to.
