Eon Demigod

Summary:

When Latios was sent out on a mission from Arceus, he never expected to form connections in this new world.
He is unfortunately forced to leave, but not before unintentionally leaving a gift behind.

This is the story of a young demigod, born in a world where his heritage is an abnormality.
How will the Gods handle this child of this Alien creature.

Notes:

I haven't written much in the past so please be patient with me.
I've had this first chapter written out for a long time, but I never posted it.
No, I haven't proofread it since I've first written it.
It's been years since I've read Percy Jackson.
I've longed for more Percy Jackson fics where Gods of other fictions are included.
I do not know if I will ever continue this, so I guess this is more proof of concept than anything?
It might have been better to put this in a snippet thread, but I did not want this to just get buried away with all the other snippet threads out there.
Please let me know if you enjoyed this or give any advice on how to be a better writer.

I originally got this idea from the Latios pokemon movie where it is unclear whether it was Latios or some girl that kissed Ash on the cheek as he was leaving. The fact that Legendaries and Mythicals are essentially pokemon Gods. The bit of pokemon Lore that pokemon and humans used to be able to marry. The fact that pokemon are rather human like in terms of sapience, sentience, whatever you want to call it. And the fact that when you consider Greek Mythology, this really isn't that farfetched.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

>>>>>>Latios POV<<<<<<
Latios was on a mission, one bestowed upon him by the high lord, Arceus. He could not fail!

Lunala recently discovered a realm that was previously unknown.
Not common but it isn’t anything strange.
But what made this place special was that there were no Pokémon! Not even an alternate version of Arceus!
Despite that, there was strange energies flowing through it.
It set a lot of legendaries and mythicals on edge. There was no telling what kind of threats could be in this world. Perhaps there were Pokémon here at some point but something wiped them out.

So Arceus chose him to go investigate. His psychic abilities, speed, invisibility, and illusion abilities made him a good scout for this mission.

He would blend in with the locals and attempt to find the source of this energy.

His disguise was human. Male, approximately six foot tall, black hair, and green eyes. Handsome but not too attention grabbing.
With just a bit of psychic energy he got documents and money for his disguise and set out.

It took two weeks for Latios to find something. He confused it for a Pokémon at first, but he doesn’t remember anything with quite the same description. It was a dog with fur as dark as night and eyes like red hot coals. He honestly almost missed it if it wasn’t for one thing.
It was chasing after two children wielding swords.
Sure, it was almost as big as a truck but he’s a Pokémon, that kind of thing is commonplace for him.
There was some kind of illusion covering both it and the kids hiding them from the sight of those around them. He was studying the energy charging this illusion when one of the children received a nasty gash from it.

He hesitated, he was supposed to be keeping a low cover but he had to do something. He turned invisible and got close to the large dog. In one swift movement he used Zen Headbutt killing it near instantly. ‘Interesting, I didn’t mean to kill it but it was very low level. It also resisted the attack, was it a Dark type or something else?’ He watched as the dog slowly turned to golden dust.

The two human stared at where the dissolving creature was. Stunned and confused at what has occurred. It wasn’t until a third figure came around the corner that they snapped out of their stupor.
This one looked like a human but with Gogoat legs and a strange Grass type energy swirling within it.
Actually the two, humans?, he saved also had strange energies. One Steel and Fire, the other either Psychic or Fairy, it’s hard to tell.

Gogoat legs is the first to speak. “What happened to the Hellhound? Did you kill it? Shit, it got you pretty bad, here get some Ambrosia”

Gogoat passes the injured one some strange square bread. The mostly uninjured one goes to explain the situation. “Fern, I don’t know what to say, neither me nor Blake killed it. A large hole just appeared in its chest before starting to dissolve.”

At the news Gogoat, sorry Fern, got a wary look and started sniffing around. He paled quickly. “It’s definitely a God that stepped in but I don’t know which. There is something different about it that I don’t recognize. Listen, we have to get out of here, best not to risk a god's ire. So say your thanks and move quickly, camp is nearby.”

Following Fern’s orders, Blake and the other one said their thanks and left. I was curious about this camp but could not risk discovery, especially if Fern could smell me.
Still the situation was informative. I have several new avenues to research. Hellhounds, Ambrosia, Gogoat legged people, and Gods.

It was evening by the time I got to the Library with two goals in mind. I’d research the current technological advancements of this world, as well as find leads based on my encounter earlier today.
Nuclear bombs were a bit concerning as well as the many wars fought over human history. But nothing the other Legendaries couldn’t do themselves if they really tried.

As for the more mythical nature of this world.
Hellhounds seem to appear in multiple mythologies. But those Gogoat legged people belong to both Roman and Greek mythologies. This ties in with their mentions of Ambrosia and Gods.
But the biggest issue is that everything I see is claiming that these creatures and gods are nothing but myths.
Sure that Hellhound seemed invisible to the general public, but certainly it can’t be all creatures here with that illusion placed upon them.

More research is required.

Over the course of the next three weeks I observed various creatures.
Six seemed to be of Greek or Roman nature, one of Egyptian, and two of Norse.
The Egyptian and Norse creatures certainly threw my research off a bit but all nine of them shared two common traits. They were all seemingly ignored by the public, despite being very large and obvious in some cases, and they all seemed to be filled with the strange energies we were getting from this world.

There is no doubt about it now. Myths and Legends seem to have a strange coexistence with the mundane. The Mundane however is completely unaware of this.
If I am to bring back useful information then it seems the best path forwards is to enroll at a learning institution that focuses on these Myths.

Five weeks later and after some application of psychic energy. One Larry T. Itos was seated at the lecture hall of NYU in a Classical Mythology course.

“Hello everyone I am your Professor Duffain and this is my teaching assistant Mr. Chase. Today we will be going over the syllabus and then I’ll give you instructions on our semester long project. You can do this project alone or with a partner. There is no rush to decide, you will have three weeks to decide on that and on what your topic will be. Now-“

A woman entered the classroom. “Sorry I am late!” She was average height with blue eyes and brown hair.
If the professor was annoyed by the interruption his face didn’t show it. “That’s fine, it is the first day, just take a seat and remember to be on time.”
She walked towards the back and took the seat next to me. After sitting down she turned and stuck out her hand. “Hi, I’m Sally, did I miss anything?”
Shaking her hand, I respond, “Larry. And nothing important, just the announcement that we have a semester-long project that he will go over later.”
My attention went back to the teacher, but I couldn’t help but feel like taking this class was going to be very worthwhile.

~2 weeks later~
I started talking more with Sally. I found out her last name is Jackson. She is very friendly and is excited about this course. Apparently her great grandmother was Greek and very into mythology. She never met her. This class was her way of getting in touch with her ancestry.

~1 week later~
We decided to partner up and we chose to research the Greek hero Perseus for our project. We traded numbers to make it easier to plan. During this time I saw another Demi-god as I have come to know them as. They were a bit roughed up but didn’t seem to be hunted, so I didn’t get involved.

~2 weeks later~
A monster attacked me. A cyclops, I think. I don’t know if they thought I was a normal human or not. They seemed rather surprised when I fought back with my Psychic moves and killed it.
Me and Sally’s research project is going well. We have almost all the articles we want to talk about together. We have still have to compile our information, give an in-depth analysis on the character and myth, and prepare a presentation on it.

~1 weeks later~
I have been attacked four more times by now, one of them eventually mentioned my scent. I guess that’s how they are tracking me. It is growing to be a nuisance.
Also Sally invited me out next week, honestly I am a bit nervous but it sounds like a fun time.

~2 weeks later~
One of the smarter monsters realized my smell was off. They demanded to know what I was. I smelt godly apparently but in a way they weren’t familiar with.
I had another date with Sally tonight but I was jumped by more monsters. I was fine but my outfit was ruined. Sure I could just cover my appearance with an illusion but Sally deserved the extra effort it takes to get ready properly.

~3 weeks later~
Me and Sally are officially dating and our presentation is due next week. I feel guilty about hiding my true identity from her. I also feel as if I am leading her on, I can’t stay with her forever, my scouting mission will be over soon and I will have to leave.
Next week after we give our presentation I plan on telling her.

~1 week later~
The bastard professor gave us a B on the presentation. I swear he is out to get me or something. It was perfect!
Regardless, Sally seems very happy with the grade.
Finals are coming up soon so I have to focus on studying. It would be easier without the biweekly monster attacks. I still have to tell Sally about my true form, and I will! After Finals I will tell her, I don’t want her grades to suffer because I distracted her.

~2 weeks later~
Finals are over, I studied with Sally a good bit before then. We had a nice celebratory dinner afterwards.
I managed to pin a more… talkative monster down. Honestly I should have done this weeks ago. He was a well of knowledge for me. A lot of it I suspected but it’s nice to get confirmation. I learned about the Mist. Gods were essentially their realms version of Legendaries. A camp for Demi-god children. What was strange was that they often have Demi-god children with mortals, us Legendaries would never do such a thing, I’m not even sure it’s allowed!

~1 week later~
I fucked up.

~1 week later~
I should have told Sally sooner what I am. I just didn’t want it to end.
Arceus is calling me back next week, I can’t stay.
I need to tell Sally the truth tomorrow!

Or… I can lie… tell her that I am moving! And with cancer! Yes that seems like the best move here. In fact one of those is actually correct!

~Tomorrow~
I knocked on her door, I don’t think I have ever felt this nervous when waiting for her. My heart hammered in my chest with anxiety. It felt like hours but she eventually opened the door to her apartment. Her face brightened when she saw me, which only made what came next worse.
“We need to talk.”
And just like that, her face fell. The pain in my chest worsened.
As soon as I stepped inside we sat down on the couch. And I caved instantly. Any plans to lie immediately crumbled as I told her everything.
Me being a Pokémon, that I came to this realm on a scouting mission, that the Greek ( and Roman , Egyptian, and Norse) Gods were real, all of the research I collected, and the fact that I had to leave soon. Possibly forever.

There was a moment of silence, I almost thought she was taking it remarkably well.
Then it was a mountain erupting in an instant. Tears flowing continuously while her face turned red and she yelled at me.
“Are you fucking serious right now! I thought everything was going great and you pull this on me! All this bullshit about being and alien god?! For what?! If you’re going to break up with me then grow up and just tell me, instead of all this crap! Well?! What do you have to say for yourself!?”

I didn’t really know what to do, so I just stood up and dropped my human disguise. Turning into my true form. It was a little cramped in the apartment but I fit.

It was as if everything froze. I waited patiently for her response. Before her eyes rolled back and she crumpled onto the floor.

All things considered I probably should have seen that coming and caught her in time. But in my defense I was still a bit stunned from the very loud screaming of the normally very calm woman.

When she woke it took about 4 hours to call her down and then another hour to explain everything to her again, this time in detail.
Once I got to the point where I had to leave she broke down in tears again. She asked if she would ever see me again or if she could come with me.
But I only had bad news. Arceus wanted to stay as uninvolved with this reality as possible. I wouldn’t be allowed back and bringing her back wouldn’t be allowed.
I apologized profusely for that was all I could do.

We spent the remainder of my time on earth together, trying to make the most of it. I took her flying in my true form. I told her about my home realm and all the kinds of Pokémon. I told her about my siblings, the other Latias and Latios out there. I showed off my Pokémon moves to her. In as much detail as I could, I explained the types of energy that flowed through Pokémon.

She initially refused but I insisted that she would be taken care of when I left. It was the least I could do. With the money some would say was ‘dubiously acquired’ she would be able to live comfortably for her life.

Eventually it was time to go.
I desperately wanted to stay but Arceus would not have allowed it.

With one final goodbye, I left and gave my report to Arceus on this realm.
He wasn’t happy I got so close to the humans, he denied my request of being Sally here or going back to that realm. He saw that it really affected me and offered his condolences.
But it wasn’t enough for me.

>>>>>>Sally POV<<<<<<
It was a Month after Larr- Latios left and I still felt his absence deeply.
He tried to make sure I would be okay while I am gone. But I don’t think he realized how much he actually gave me, it was far too much.

I spent a long time wasting in bed remembering all the good times we had.

The next morning I went to roll out of bed and I felt a wave of nausea. I didn’t realize what might have been happening till the fifth morning in a row of sickness.

A part of me hoped I was wrong and I wasn’t pregnant. The other part hoped it was true. The only person I’ve been with was Latios.

So I got a pregnancy test and waited. It was the longest minute of my life. But the results came, it tested positive.

It was a confusing mess of emotions.
Being 20 and pregnant and having a child without the father in the picture was a daunting situation.
But I had the money for it thanks to Latios and the child would be the only thing I had left of him other than photos and memories.
I was fearful of the future, fearful for the life a Demigod child would lead, especially one of a foreign god.

The following months were hectic.
Telling family, moving to a better home, preparing a room for the future child, researching every mythology for anything he might encounter in the future, and desperately trying to remember everything Latios said or showed me about his species. The only thing I didn’t do was pray to any gods, best not to draw any unwanted attention my way.

I was fearful about every checkup the doctor did.
Latios wasn’t exactly human. Hell he wasn’t even humanoid so I had no clue what would be healthy development for our child. And I couldn’t just tell the doctor my child was half alien.

Eventually the 9 months passed without incident.
I was now the mother of a healthy (seemingly normal) baby boy.
And I had the perfect name in mind.

Perseus Latios Jackson.
