Work Text:
As I gaze into constant sorrow,
I often think about what comes tomorrow.
Eyes so full of patient, relaxed ease,
I wonder what it’s like to feel the sky’s breeze.
Oftentimes I seek no grandeur,
And as such people think me poor-
But I’ve no need for needless possessions,
Just a need to see the heavens.
I feel inside the stars fine glow,
And deep within me I fear I know,
Nothing stays, and everything changes,
But yet I’m here to remember the ages.
Alone but together,
I knew then time would break our tether.
To wish for things to last forever,
Would end with the constant feeling of displeasure.
To go back then, knowing what I know now,
Would be something I’d now disallow,
To accept these hurtful, unforgiving glances,
Will go to show how I continue my advances.
So as I gaze into my healing sorrow,
I look much further than just tomorrow.
Healing takes time and isn’t with ease,
But at least I can sit here, breathing with the breeze.
