Chapter Text
I still remember the day we met.
I walked into the coffee shop, leaving behind the morning fog and welcoming the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
I noticed there were only two people in line. A young woman with her child, and him.
I don’t know exactly what about him caught my attention.
Maybe it was his dark hair that looked somewhat green in the light. Or maybe it was fate pulling me towards where I needed to go. Lost in my thoughts about how early it was, I didn't seem to notice when he stepped away after ordering or how my eyes went to find him in this quiet cafe, the warm lights easy on the eyes.
I found him sitting in the corner, working but not completely immersed in it. occasionally taking breaks to look up from his writing and around the room.
I ordered my drink, a practiced method from all the early mornings I've spent here before work. I didn't have anything to do today. I was planning to sleep in until tomorrow, when I would begrudgingly, yet well-rested, trudge my way to work, but unfortunately my job has messed up my sleep schedule so bad I'm waking up at 6am on a Sunday just to get coffee.
I walked over to the bar after getting my coffee and sat down next to him.
“Anyone sitting here?” I asked,
He looked up, and his eyes were just as strikingly green as his hair, which, I came to realize, was not just the lighting. "Well, you're already seated now,” he said with a chuckle.
I don’t think I realized it then, what I was getting myself into. I didn't realize how we slid into easy conversation before even asking each other's names. I didn't question why I even approached this guy. I didn’t realize that I found myself drawn to him. To his side, his vibe. I didn’t realize how much that one Sunday morning would change everything.
Back then, I thought it was just coffee.
I didn’t know it would turn into something I couldn’t imagine life without.
