Chapter Text
“Morse,” exclaimed Peter in surprise. “Wasn’t expecting you to turn up.”
“Well, a housewarming, it's an important occasion. I, er, brought this,” answered Morse awkwardly, handing Peter a bottle of whisky.
“Thanks,” smiled Peter, amused, and charmed at his awkwardness despite knowing each other for so long. “Now come and see this,” and he quickly guided Morse through the busy living room and up some stairs.
Morse frowned, rather confused, but found himself following anyway.
“Not a bad view, eh?” Peter asked leading Morse out onto a roof top.
Morse stopped dead in the doorway.
“Morse?” Asked Peter looking back, realising Morse hadn’t followed.
“This is as far as I go,” answered Morse looking nervously out over the view.
Peter stared at him for a moment, before remembering Morse and Thursday on a rooftop.
“Fair enough,” he agreed with a shrug, and walked back to Morse, leaning on the wall and offering him a cigarette.
Morse looked at him in some surprise, but took the cigarette and they stood looking out over the view while the party continued inside.
