Work Text:

Baek Saheon was genuinely creeped out.

“Maybe he’s just…not a romantic. Its okay, Braun! I don’t mind, I’ll still love him!”

The person in the room giggled, holding a pink bunny keychain in the palms of his hands.

As of a few days ago, Baek Saheon’s classmate—Kim Soleum—had bought a new pink bunny keychain.

It was weird at first, the guy was talking to himself like a maniac and doing things he definitely didn’t do before.

He’d even named the little bunny and was thankful he had it. He named it “Braun”, and it would just hang there on his plain black bag conspicuously.

A few others had also asked where he got it from  out of curiosity, but he only said the same thing.

“Oh, someone offered it to me while I was buying something from a store, and said it gives you luck. Wow, it really did.”

And Baek Saheon could’ve sworn it did much more than just that, if not worse.

He didn’t know if it was just him, but he felt like he was witnessing someone go insane in real time.

…Maybe it was also starting to affect him as well.

Something about the way Kim Soleum stared at him differently when they passed by each other in the hallways and talked in class, intensely observing him like he was studying him.

Not just that, but also how he seemed to have some kind of facade in front of others yet seemed so…odd and unreal to him.

He was also starting to see him more often at school, which was funny because he barely even had any impression of this guy when the year began and all of a sudden he won’t stop seeing this creep everywhere.

Scary…

But the only thing that was frustrating him was that…he was the only one who noticed all of this!

He had tried to subtly bring up his weird behavior to his other friends but they just stared at him like he was the insane one, insisting that he’d always been like this and there was nothing ‘off’ about it.

Now he stood, hiding behind the thin wall beside the door that led to the empty classroom, listening to Kim Soleum talking to his bunny.

Was he sure he wasn’t just…talking to himself?

Whatever it was, it seriously was starting to scare him.

Originally, he had only come to the classroom to drop off some documents from the office as requested by his teacher, and he was honestly expecting to just see another teacher tirelessly marking worksheets, but not this…

In the center of the classroom, a boy with dense black hair sat under the warm light, rays of sunlight peeking through the slits of the half closed blinds that dangled down from the ceiling and ruffled from the slight cool breeze of wind that flowed through the opening.

The boy sat still, awaiting a response from the pink soft plush that also sat across from him, only for it to lose its balance and limply fall forward instead.

Kim Soleum let out a quiet breath, sighing at his failed attempt to converse with the pink bunny.

Then, his eyes suddenly shot up, turning his head to look up at Baek Saheon.

“Oh, what are you here for?” He said casually, that funny undertone still lingering in his voice.

Baek Saheon almost slipped and fell under his piercing gaze, but he managed to keep his composure and carefully walk into the classroom, trembling while he did.

“M-Mrs. Jung from Class 1-3 asked me to bring this.”

He mumbled, bringing the box of papers to the front of the classroom.

Once he did, the other person’s eyes never left him.

As always, intimidating him with a piercing gaze.

It was hard trying to stay in the same room alone with a psycho like him, but Baek Saheon managed to keep his cool.

Creak..

Baek Saheon kept his head down and didn’t dare look up.

“Come here.”

“…?”

“I said, come here.”

Under his piercing stare, Baek Saheon obediently walked to him, his actions uncertain and his footsteps hesitant and slow.

‘What…is he going to do…?’

A hand suddenly grabbed onto his chin, lifting his face to meet with Klim Soleum’s.

“H-Hey, what are you…?”

Baek Saheon’s words melted in his throat as Kim Soleum scanned him carefully, staring deep into his eyes that made him stiffen on the spot.

Suddenly, he could feel something thin being lifted from his face, thin and fine like thread…

“What are you doing…stop..”

Kim Soleum paused.

“Sorry. Didn’t mean to.”

‘Didn’t mean to my ass!!’

“Just…don’t try anything funny.”

Bael Saheon’s face was starting to heat up at the act of him holding his face and removing his eyepatch, even though this had happened to him before on hospital trips and check-ups.

‘Shit…what the hell is wrong with me.’

“Rrrring!”

“A-ah, class…I should go get my stuff, sorry…”

“…’

Baek Saheon immediately ran past Kim Soleum and dashed for the door, slamming it on him by accident on the way out.

‘Whatthehellwhathehellwhatthehell!?!?’

In this midst of his panic, only one thought had briefly passed his mind.

‘Kim Soleum…likes me?’

 —-

“I just wanted to say that…I like you, Baek Saheon.”

“Huh? Thank you…?”

Recently, Baek Saheon had become close with a new student who transferred at their school, and the two of them had become good friends.

Friends.

Well, that was what he thought they were until now.

“I’ve had feelings for you for a while but I…didn’t really know how to tell you. I was scared this would ruin out friendship, and knowing you, you probably didn’t like me in that way either. Sorry...I just felt like I needed to get it off my chest.”

“Ah, it’s fine. Yeah, I don’t really see you in that way. I don’t see anyone in that way either, so, you’re fine.”

“Really? Oh my god, I got all tense for nothing. But, you really don’t have anyone…?”

“…? No.”

“Not even Kim Soleum?”

“Hey, what does he have to do with this?!”

The girl laughed at his response.

“Wow, you’re even defending him? Didn’t know you swung like that, Baek Saheon. Maybe I should’ve noticed from the start. How did I not notice?”

“What?? What do you mean by tha…I DON’T LIKE MEN???”

‘Sounds like someones in denial~”

The girl said cheekily while stuffing something into her pocket.

“What’s that?”

“Nothing…hehe.”

Baek Saheon looked down and fumbled around with his pockets until he realized something.

‘My name tag---!’

“Hey, give it back!”

“Nuh uh, no way. Come get it yourself, homo!” She said before running off.

Baek Saheon would’ve chased after her, but he was a bit tired and didn’t feel like exhausting himself. Honestly, he could care less about being dress coded for losing his nametag.

And not only that, but he felt an excruciating and piercing stare from beside him again.

He turned around, and saw him.

There he was, standing still. Nothing in hand, nothing on his face. Just a blank, empty stare.

‘Right, he likes me, doesn’t he? Fuck, now that he just saw that, what is he going to do next?’

To his surprise, the other person simply walked away without even glancing back, not a word nor trace of his thoughts left behind.

 —-

The following day, Baek Saheon’s friend had died from a road accident.

“Did you hear? *** died last night…”

“Crazy, wasn’t she also really talented for a new student?”

“She transferred here two months ago. Stop calling her new as if she hasn’t caught up already.”

“Still, I feel bad. I heard she was even in a relationship with Baek Saheon, I wonder how he’s doing right now…”

Baek Saheon was doing perfectly fine actually. And he also wasn’t at the same time.

Because…something told him that there was someone behind all of this.

And that someone was the same person who sat in the classroom of Class 1-5 everyday after school to talk to his bunny keychain, Braun.

“They weren’t lying when they said you grant people luck, huh? The heavens really have answered my calls! Isn’t that amazing?”

“Now, theres no one else other than me who will go after him.”

Kim Soleum’s strange giggle sent shivers down Baek Saheon’s spine.

Creepy! Seriously creepy!

If that wasn’t considered behavior of a psycho, he really didn’t know what did.

…He needed to leave before he got into some weird situation like last time.

 —-

“Baek Saheon! Wanna come? We’re going to the store to buy some snacks.”

Baek Saheon glanced at the group of people in front of him, specifically the black haired boy with glasses.

He was hungry, but on second thought, he wasn’t gonna come along.

Just thinking about that hypocritical, crazy, and insane weirdo coming along made him lose his appetite.

He could just reject them and say ‘I’m not feeling it today’, but who knows how long Kim Soleum will take trying to instigate him until he accepts.

“Can’t, sorry.I have something up today anyways.”

“Ah…club meeting?”

“Yeah…that…”

“Oh, okay then. We’ll see you tomorrow then, yeah? Bye!”

“Bye…”

As the group of people slowly began to vanish from his view, he let out a sigh.

Actually, his club activity today was cancelled, but he didn't tell anyone so no one else except him and his clubmates knew.

Well, guess he was going to walk home with an empty stomach again….

[Watch out for serial killers.]

Delivered

Baek Saheon was going to go insane.

Sending him such a message, and what a perfect time!

It’s late afternoon and rumors have been spreading across the area that there are serial killers.

Why? because people have been dying recently, obviously.

And not dying of sickness or old age or whatever, but just…missing.

Everything was weird.

Even his classmates were starting to theorise that his friend died not because of an accident, but she was killed by serial killers.

Baek Saheon was starting to suspect that Kim Soleum was the serial killer instead…

It all began on our graduation day.

“Baek Saheon, let’s graduate together. Too many people have died already, so if you’re going to die, then only I can kill you.”

“…?”

Baek Saheon slowly turned his head over, visibly puzzled. But Kim Soleum only smiled silently with a look in his eyes he couldn’t read.

That was the last thing he would see.
