Work Text:
Chance sprints, frantically flipping their coin over and over. It keeps landing on tails, and eventually they give up and swing around a tight corner and hoped whoever was chasing him lost sight. But no, they didn't, they never do, he thinks as something makes contact with his back and forces him to fall to the ground on his chest.
" Hey, " he tries to reason as he rolls himself onto his back. " H-- "
His throat goes dry at Itrapped hovering over him, glaring into his soul. They don't get why he's so angry, when Chance was the one who was hurt--
Their thoughts run to a stop as a tall icicle slams into the grass next to him.
Chance swallows, a nervous grin forming as he scoots backwards as much as he can. Itrapped follows, eyes filled with absolute malice and the need to hurt them.
He realizes with a startle, that this is where he would find them. Trapped's been waiting for this, and now he's going to die in the most painful way possible.
It's confirmed when the same icicle from before is raised and dug into his chest, deep enough to hurt and send chills throughout their body but not deep enough to kill. He almost yells, squeezing his eyes shut and praying that someone come and get him. That someone would come by--maybe Elliot, please be Elliot--and help him.
The killer remains silent, kicking his shades off. Instantly, he attempts to reach for them when the same foot kicks him in the face. His chest rises and falls rapidly, tears forming in his closed eyes as he starts sobbing underneath his ex-friend.
Then, finally, the other person spoke.
" You haven't changed, " Itrapped mutters, eyes narrowed in a mix of annoyance and hatred. " You haven't even tried to get better, have you? "
" Are you even trying to get better at this point ? " The question had caught Chance, tearing at his heart as his eyes widen beneath his glasses.
He tries to stop himself from crying. " I -- Yeah, I am, " he croaked, throat tight with an unreachable emotion.
Itrapped raises his weapon, aiming for Chance's eye. They swing the icicle down, Chance screams, and the last thing they process before everything stops working is another kick to the face and a swift turn of the heel, like Trapped wasn't comfortable with being around them anymore.
They close their working eye, not the one twitching under the spear and pouring blood, and think on how they'd do the same if they were in his place.
