In the base of Rüstkammer, Dustin Jaeger paced back and forth in the hallway, carrying a face of nervousness, for today he had planned to ask Anju Emma if she would accompany him out to the city of Fortrapide while he looked for a present for his mother's birthday. Ever since the 1st Armoured Group's well-earned vacation and after trying to help out with the others with the events of Shin and Lena, Dustin himself had gained some courage and wished to apply that same courage to asking Anju to accompany him.
Though the courage had carried him up until now, Dustin's nerves of steel were now basically jelly, primarily because while on the way to where Anju was, he had run into Kurena and Theo. While talking to the two, he brought up his plan with Anju, and almost immediately, the two pointed out that he was basically asking her on a date. This flooded Dustin's nerves all the way up to now, where he found himself waiting outside the room Anju was in, and he tried his best to calm himself down in his head.
"Calm down, Dustin. You're not asking her out or anything, just to accompany you while you look for a present for Mom. Yup, nothing crazy about that, just asking to hang out, maybe get lunch together… oh my gosh, this is basically asking her out on a date."
Dustin's nervousness then shot up to a thousand. Some tiny part of him thought that he should back out and just look by himself, but he then heard a familiar voice say his name.
"Dustin?" Hearing this voice, Dustin shot around to find Anju standing before him with paperwork in her arms. His nervousness was as apparent as ever, leading Anju to ask, "Is everything alright? Did you need something?" His nerves were now at an all-time high. Seeing her ask this, even a bit of sweat came down the side of his head, but he would not let that stop him.
He wiped away the sweat and settled his nerves, then answered, "Umm, yes, there is, wait no it's not a need or anything, just umm, I was planning to go look for a present for my mother's birthday, and I was wondering…if-if-if-ifyoudlikeaccompanyme!" He finally let it out, though not without a crack in his voice when he finally asked. But now, with the question gone, he looked at Anju for her response.
Having heard his question, a look of surprise appeared on her face, with a slight blush on her cheeks. She then covered her mouth and snickered, then said, "With that look on your face, I thought something was wrong, but I'm glad I was wrong. And yes, I would like to accompany you." she answered with a warm smile on her face, leading Dustin to have one as well. He couldn't be more glad that he hadn't backed out at the last moment, and couldn't be happier than he already was that the Snow Witch had said yes.
The two parted as they still had some things to handle. As Anju walked the halls, she thought about how Dustin had asked her to accompany him. It made her feel warm inside; she also recalled how nervous he was and how much he stuttered and slurred his words when asking the question. She couldn't help but laugh again at it and gain another smile. The Snow Witch looked forward to accompanying Sagittarius.
