“Granger.”
She spins at the sound of his voice, pressing her back against the wall of the kitchen.
“Malfoy.”
He looks stupid good in his white t-shirt and backwards hat.
“Never imagined I’d see you at one of my parties.”
Hermione quirks a brow. “Maybe I’d have come sooner if you would’ve invited me.”
He smirks at her response and plants his palm flat against the wall beside her head, towering over her.
“I need a beer pong partner.”
“Surely any one of your loyal followers will be happy to step in.”
He cocks his head as he looks down at her. “But I want you.” His eyes trail over her body, lingering on the cutouts of her tight black dress.
“Why’s that, Malfoy?”
His lips fight a grin. “Theo bet I couldn’t convince you to be my partner. I’d like to prove him wrong.”
Hermione studies him. “That wasn’t all you bet, was it?”
He leans in and Hermione can smell his rich cologne. “You know me well.”
“Or maybe you’re just painfully transparent.”
“Ouch,” he says, though he smiles. “Fine. I bet I could get you to go out with me.”
“How’s that working out for you?”
“You tell me.” His breath is hot against her neck.
Hermione looks up under her lashes at Draco, his silver eyes searing into her.
“Alright, Malfoy. If we win a game of beer pong against Theo and his partner, I’ll go out with you.”
Draco stands and holds out a hand.
“You didn’t hear the rest of the bargain,” Hermione says, stopping him. “If we lose—“
“We won’t.”
