Chapter 1: Screaming My Freedom

Chapter Text

"I look ridiculous..."

Lux murmured to herself while holding up a small cosmetic mirror. She tilted her head, side-eyeing the snugged leather wrapped around her neck.

The texture was smooth, soft leather pressing against her scent glands while the outside had a velvet touch. The only part that displeased her was the obnoxious golden spikes that littered around the rich dark blue strap but it was to prevent biters from marking her as well as getting too close. It had a smell to it, an implant was inside the device, emitting a puff of defusing spray that would turn heads or make them gag.

She snapped the mirror shut when she heard distancing footsteps. Her hiding spot failing her when a slim man rounded the corner. It was a dark area within the building, off limits as all the lights had been shut off and the long windows draped closed from any of the moonlight outside from spilling in. It was a good rest spot for Lux to take a breather from all the people on the other side of the wall.

"Miss Lux," His voice was smooth, like warm honey. His attire was clean, wiped down from stray dust or lingering fuzz. His tux was dark crimson as well as his pants. His shoes, polished down to reflect a sparkling effect when he walked. His black tie neatly tucked against his white tunic. He didn't approach her but stood his ground and gave a small bent to his back, a little bow. "You are summoned by your brother." His white hair was slicked back, his small mustache brushed from tangled webs. His skin was tan from the years of sun bathing yet rugged and wrinkled.

Bright blue eyes catches his brown ones. "Give me a few?" Her voice was soft.

His silence was short but he nudged his head again and pardon himself back into the bustling party.

Once alone to herself again she let out a dragged sigh. She needed to get of this somehow. The live musical orchestra setting a low tune made the air to Lux dull. The muffled murmurs at the other end sounded like ghostly whispers and the clicking and the shuffling of shoes and heels made her chest tight. The tinkling of glass whine or champagne butting heads when a burst of laugher from a large group hears an awful joke that Lux knew was the reason for excuse to let others chat over another.

She couldn't take this...

That last hour had been exhausting with her brother. Giving her a lecture of finding a fancy man to her liking and eventually settle and have a few kids. She scoffed when she asked him the same, catching his girlfriend chatting with a couple he shrugged off the question as always. This party was for him anyways when he won his first championship in football and now he's gloating in the attention. And him asking for her? Probably sniffed out a polite man so he can introduce them.

No. Not this time.

Reaching down, Lux pulled off her white heels and placed them on the nearest cushioned char. Her feet padded against the polished wood, making her way to one of the blocked windows she unlatched the lock and parted the long, silken drapes. Hoisting up the window panel she held it above her as she slowly leaned her head out, looking both ways for anyone and when luck was on her side the dark outstretched grass held no bodies. Well, it was the off limit section. Lux gave a little jump in her stance, placing her right hip before swaying her bare feet out and once she jumped the underside of her feet met cold, wet lush. The cold shocked her system to the point of both her arms flew out alongside her, trying to balance her unsteady landing. Once she stilled she sighed out all the air within her. Now free from her prison of perfection she started to run, her long dress flowing behind her, every kick of her back feet sprayed the undisturbed dew drops from the recent rain that morning. She gave a little laugh, grabbing her dress now she came across the familiar street.

Rows of cars parked along the long road, their hoods glistening and the street coated in a gloss but she didn't care about her feet getting dirty. If anything she didn't care what people would think of her if anyone was out at this time of night. Picking up her speed she sprinted further and further away, enjoying the cold, stale air brushing in her shoulder length, golden hair. Her blue headband holding down most of the enjoyment but she ran until the soles screamed for mercy.

The long run gave her a fresh rejuvenation as she halted to a stop at the nearest gas station. Bending her back and bracing her hands on her covered knees she huffed out her adrenaline, puff of fogged air escaping her mouth, her hair framing her face. With one, long, inhale she straightened up and looked towards the small station.

She couldn't see her reflection due to the amount of bright light within, that and the scatter and litter of advertisements and low prices on beverages or smokes. But some lack that pop when most of them were faded from years of the weather or others touching them with sweaty palms or dirty fingertips. But Lux felt her throat start to dry up from the mile charge and the place seemed empty besides the shop owner behind the counter.

Lux reached out, pushing the door she heard a bell over her head, indicating that a costumer has arrived. The clerk didn't bother to lift up his head since he was nose deep in the early newspaper. The blonde quietly went down the first isle, eyeing the colorful small packages of peanuts and gummy sugars. Not seeing anything that catches her fancy she rounded to the next isle and stopped when she caught a particular brand.

Chips sounded nice too...

She snatched the bag and as she made her way to the drinks, a loud booming of a car started to roll in. Lux took a glance at the watered washed window of what looked like a van. The front was horribly splashed with color, the neon glow to it adding a eye sore and the left light seemed to have had a bullet hole went through it. She heard a loud bang, jumping in her step she saw a man around her age rounded the back of the vehicle. His hair was a wild white and dreads that hung on one side. His posture was broad and his steps were relaxed. His skin was a beautiful chocolate, the lightening outside adding golden dust to his sharp facial features. His over-sized army green jacket hung loosely around his shoulders and underneath was a plain white tank. His pants hugged his hips nicely, shaping his rum as they were dark brown khakis. His shoes were nice yet dirty from what looked like years of worn and as Lux was about to pull her eyes off him another rounded the van.

The blonde felt her airways seal shut.

Long, braided blue hair that hung nearly down the woman's boots. They swayed with each step she took, her face doe-ish. Thick, dark eyebrows; plush cheeks a pointed nose and slim lips. Her skin was deathly pale, her frame was sickly slim. Her top was shy of covering her small breasts and along her right arm and side had blue tattoos of swirling smoke patterns. Her pants were oddly fashioned, slanted by her hips and held by a leather belt with a bronze buckle. Her steal toed boots loudly stomped on the floor and her hands were covered with black leather gloves, her fingers jetting out. The man outside must have had made a joke when she caught the woman's toothy grin.

Yeah...That's an angel.

Lux snapped out of her daze when the bell pinged. She heard a dry giggle next and Lux tried to swallow down the saliva under her tongue.

Wait...

The collar!

"Shit." Lux shot her hands to her neck, pulling at the collar but she had left her key at home. Cursing quietly again to herself she ducked quickly behind one of the isles and with pure luck she spotted a rack with a long white turtle neck. Reaching quickly and hastily putting it on she shivered when the soft cotton, embroidering bushed her skin. Feeling less embarrassed she stood up to her full height and peeked. The clerks attention had changed drastically now, he seemed a bit timid, more alert. Her sense perked on his as she calmly made her way back to the drink area. It was quiet now except for the padding of boots walking around the store. She heard a screech of one of them, scuffing against the dirty tiles the blonde kept her eyes on the various amount of flavor of drinks before her.

She scanned low and high and finally made her decision on a cold coffee brew. Lux stopped in her tracks suddenly, out-reach hand almost grabbing the handle Lux's nose had a tickle sensation. Taking a sample sniff her sinuses were flooded with engine oil and rich paint. Her pupils dilated and she felt the back of her hair on her neck react to the heavy musk. Her gums itched and her teeth ached, wanting the urge to sink her teeth into something she brought her hand to her lips and pressed her thumb against one of her canines. The aroma gotten stronger, engulfing her in an invisible haze Lux unlatched her thumb when she heard a pair of boots stop right behind her.

Slowly turning her head her eyes were fixated on a dark leather top with four bronze rings, a white cross lacing rounding each hole. Lux shyly tilted her head and was met with two piercing violet eyes irises. Her eye-shadow, sloppy yet smoky and her lips were shyly chapped. Her face held a boredom look, one of her thick eyebrows cocked up. This was her smell...

As the blonde barely parted her lips the taller woman let out a whispered, "Boo."

The woman let out a snarky chuckle when she watched the blonde step aside quickly. Reaching out and pulling the handle the blue hair woman hummed at the blast of cold air and snatched a couple of energy drinks before turning away and making her way back to the boy.

Lux clutched at the turtle-neck, feeling the collar beneath she thanked her brother for this device. Her heart pounded against her chest, the tip of her ears burned and she wouldn't be surprised if her face held a blush. Shaking her head now that the smell has drifted away Lux angrily grabbed the door that was slowly closing and reached to grab the brew.

"Okay, okay relax." She felt her neck swell, threatening of releasing her pheromones. Lux hushed to herself again. "You're wearing the collar, it's fine."

Turning on her bare feet she started to walk to the front when she heard a low whizzing noise and then a sudden loud pop. Dropping her items she ducked down quickly, covering her ears when the ringing started to pierce her hearing. That same laugh echoed throughout the store along with a lower one and when Lux un-cupped her ears she heard the clerk yelling a curse-

"You pay for those you rats!"

The van outside revved up it's engine, the tires; screeching while it backed up and roared down the wet street. Now that Lux was alone inside she quickly got to her feet, speed walked to the front and dumped her items on the counter. The clerk was still fuming as he grumbled, reaching and scanning the items and punching in the price the blonde let out a timid, "Who were they?"

The man rolled his eyes as he watched the monitor flicker. "Bad influencers." He leaned all his weight on the counter and brought his eyes to her, his tone gone from annoyance to clear interest. "You new around here?"

Lux felt her spine shiver as she saw his eyes cast down her body. She shook her head side to side, her lips pinched in a thin line. And when she thought he caught a whiff of her collar the old bolstering man gave her a little lift of his hairy-unkept eyebrow. "You like that sweater?" He thrusted his chin towards it and Lux could only nod silently. He took another inhale, tasting the air and then he flinched back once the peppers hit the back of his sinuses. He started to cough harshly, holding up a fisted hand to cover his spraying saliva and his vision blurred from watering over.

Lux tensed up her shoulders and quickly patted down for cash and it hit her.

Right. Who would bring cash at a fancy party when everything was already paid for?

She shot her eyes to the door and then back at the still coughing man in front of her. He managed to open one eye and saw the tension in her glances. He choked out a snarl.

"Don't you dare-"

Speedily grabbing the chips and brew Lux made a run for it. Almost slipping in her steps she heard the man yelling again and when she was far enough away she started to feel her lips stretch. A smile full of teeth and a chortle of a laugh left her mouth when she felt an odd sensation course through her system. The splashing of water casted a ring around her when she ran again that night, the dark clouds above groaned; threatening to pour down it's fury of rain. Lux rounded another corner just to be out of sight and once she felt her back hit the cold stone wall she hugged her bag and drink, still letting out small breathless giggles. Slowly sliding down the wall she felt the rush starting to settle. She gave her body a few minutes to rest before pinching the top of the bag, pulling it open with a satisfying pop she closed her eyes when the smell filled her head.

Back home, she was only ever to eat certain foods and products they came in, a rule of her family was strict on. Her mother would tell her that ladies eat delicate, light meals to keep the female body shape while her father bolstered at how picky things should be well qualified. To her, they said that consuming well preserved dishes will maintain her floral smell and Lithe frame. But in truth, it was to be the perfect mate for her match. Always tiny display of entrées throughout the days and bland seasoning. There was a time that sneaking around to find desserts or sweets wasn't an option when gluttonous food wasn't allowed past her families front gates. The amount of vegetables had faded from her taste buds and high-top cooked meats started to get hard to swallow. The only good taste she ever felt hit the back of her throat was her very first cherry wine.

A little hum escaped her throat when she thought about her families behaviors. Stern, Polite and never fooled. She shook her head as she opened her eyes and peered down the bag. Reaching in and grabbing a thin 'little piece of heaven' she opened her mouth to take her first bite of what seemed to be hours ago last time she ate and then a loud, startling honk made her flinch, the chip falling and landing in a mushy wet spot. Lux huffed angrily as she shot her head to the direction of the sound and glared at that same, ugly, painted over van. It started to come closer and when Lux followed it like a hawk she saw that same girl, head popping out from the front window, big teeth with a too big smile and a pair of engineering goggles the blonde felt her anger seep a little...Until the blue haired girl threw up a rounded object high in the air. Lux watched it aiming at her when it came spiraling down at her and as it made it's target right between her legs it exploded. Pink and blue dust powdered her entire front, painting her in color she coughed when some went through her airways. The van gave a few more honks, the woman laughing in a series of fits as it rounded the other corner, the distancing of their music dimming her ears.

A new taste developed in her mouth. The flavor of bitters from the powder bomb got into her mouth and she spat and coughed, waving away the settling, sparkling dust in her face. Now sprinkled in the dry chemicals Lux looked down her bag, her brows furrowed when she saw that it got into her snack. Throwing back her head and hitting the wall she gripped the bag, the crunching inside breaking the fried flakes and she let out a struggling scream.

"That-! Ugh!" She shot up on her feet, trying to wipe and pat off the offending attack. And when things couldn't get worse she heard a familiar exhaust of a car.

"Lux!"

And there he was. Her brother, right on time too.

He parked right in front of her and quickly got out, his girlfriend; Katarina did the same.

"Shit- What happened?" He bent when he saw her struggling on her feet, taking both her hands in his larger ones the red haired woman stayed behind to lean against the back of the car and folded her arms, silently watching the siblings.

Lux shrugged him off. waving her hands to show that she was frustrated. "It was...Some couple of-" She remembered the clerks words. Slowly holding herself she looked away from her brother to find the abandoned chips and her now broken coffee bottle. "Bad influencers..." She murmured.

Garen gently held his hand out for her to take but she shook her head with a stern no.

"Did they hurt you? What happened?" He tried again, a more gentler approach.

Lux ignored his offer, passing him with a heated state she reached for the door handle but it failed to open, clearly locked. "Unlock the car Garen." She huffed angrily, not turning around to meet him.

The red haired woman glanced at Garen, a small pause in the air before she saw his chest puff up.

"Tell me," His voice now rough, commanding. "Now." He turned her way, his anger now pinned on the back of her head.

Blue eyes stinged in the cold air. She grit her teeth to calm her nerves but when a big brother flies around her like a fly she just wanted to swat away his presence and get a silent ride back home. She heard a loud inhale behind her and she spun around, fisted her palms and let the tears fall.

"I just want to go home..." She watched him stone in place. He saw the nonstop tears sliding down her cheeks, her lower lip trembling a little and he heard a hush whisper.

"Please..."

He stood still, caught off guard by the action his eyes glanced down to her mud-caked feet, the pink and blue adding in. He only gave her a silent nod, unlocked the car and the three of them got in right before the rain started to sprinkle and then downpour into a thundering rhythm. The ride home was long; uncomfortable to Lux, her still wet eyes roamed out the window, watching the rain droplets swiftly race against the glass in a vertical pattern. Distance lights caught her eye, the blinking white flash within the large clouds brightened the vase horizon and followed soon was a low thunderous boom.

Once the car hit familiar gravel, Garen parked his car into the large garage. Lux, not waiting for anymore questions, got out quickly and headed straight into her room and locked the door.

The room was large and awfully too spacious for one person as for herself. The flooring was light wood, almost bleached washed and in the middle was a huge, red rug with golden trimming. Her large bed was at the very end on the other side, perfectly between long windows that were still open from earlier today when she was having a hard time waking up for the party. The walls were pastel white, bland and boring. To her left was a cozy nook, littered with pillows and folded up blankets but the window on that side was shut. And by it was a small study desk, essentials strewed across it. And on the opposite side was a tall bookshelf filled with verity of books.

Walking to her right was her bathroom and when she pried the two doors open she sighed in relief once she stepped into her safety space. Looking down at herself she frowned at the splattered colors on the turtleneck and the lower part of her dress. Quickly shedding off her layers and dumping it into her hamper she turned the shower on and took a look of herself in her mirror. Her upper lip twitched when her eyes roamed herself, irritation filling her head when she spotted more of those colors on her skin. There was speckles of it on her neck and collar and her face had a slash of blue across her nose and eye. Her feet were absolutely plastered with gunk, the powder residue smeared up to her knees and her hands.

Glaring at herself she opened her drawer, found her key and angrily unlocking her collar and once she felt it's lack of grip she threw it out into her room before she yelled out a frustrated scream.

And then the tears came again...

As if her make up wasn't ruin enough from the car ride she started her shower, rinsed off and scrubbed herself until her skin burned.

The sound of ice skates sliced across the large ring within the stadium. Lights highlighted the entire dome while the girls below toppled over their own feet or fell on their rear from missing a delicate twirl.

Lux on the other hand never fumbled on her graceful poses, a simple hobby she developed after her mother when introduced at age seven. The cooling air felt good on her leotard, the main body color was a dark blue and a lighter shade of frills bounced on her hips. Her tights were the same as well as her sleeves but her skates were a little too tight and uncomforting when gliding along the ice.

She was at it for an hour until her body ached and when she slowly approach the bleachers she heard a man whistle.

"You go girl!"

Lux felt her skates become heavier when she treaded on the worn flooring. Bringing up her hair into a high, tight ponytail she glanced at the man sitting above her station. His hair was like hers, blonde yet darker on top. His eyes were crystal blue and his skin was somewhat pale but held shade of tone. His long bangs framed his grinning face, and wearing his favorite outfit; a striped V-neck grey shirt and over it was a light brown jacket. His jeans were dark blue held by a normal belt and 'too big' vans shoes that gave him a little height in his stance.

Lux gave him a sideways smile. "I was messy, you saw that." She turned to sit down and began untying the tight shoes. "I haven't skated in a while, I guess my feet decided to grow a few inches." Tossing them aside she almost moaned when she brought her hands to massage her bundled feet.

Her friend, Ezreal, leaned over the safety bar, crossing them so he could watch her. "Well you did take a long break from," He stretched out his arms and gave both his fingers a quote- "I'll never do what my mother did as a young adult." His voice was charming, especially when he chuckled at Lux's scrunched facial expression.

The young blonde huffed when she stored her skates into her small bag. "I was going through a tough time when Garen met Katarina." She stitched to put on her regular shoes, plain white.

Ezreal rolled his eyes, re-crossing his arms again. "And to think you were sick of him." He looked at the back of her neck where the collar rested. Of course they were both close friends when Lux cried her eyes out to him about the new addition to her look when she had to leave the house. They were only teenagers at the time when Lux hit her first heat cycle to where she was almost devoured by a boy at her school, her brother thankfully was there to give the slimy guy a good uppercut to the jaw. It wasn't his fault really, Lux had a unique scent to attract both factions that it became overbearing when eyes and whispers floated around her that her brother came up with the solution.

A collar.

And when she thought it was just to prevent biters, Ezreal got a little too close to where the collar had a 'Pheromone Detector' hidden in the leather and once it let out the invisible spray of pepper he gagged away from her. He asked if she will be wearing that all the time and when her memory came back to that incident her hands gripped the leather, giving him her silent answer. Oh how the years gone by.

Lux shuffled into her bag again to retrieve her long coat, a simple color of tan. Standing up now and typing the belt along her waist to hide her attire beneath she slung her bag over her shoulder and tilted her head to see him. "I still am." It was her turn to roll her eyes at him, playfully. "If you had a sibling, you'd understand." She started to walk to the exit and her friend followed behind her.

Ezreal was good at controlling his pheromones around her, knowing that she knew his secret feeling for her Lux had ignored mostly all the signals, yet his arrogance was his biggest ego. When they made it out of the stadium, Ezreal gave his car keys a click; The sound chirping ahead of them.

The air was chillier this time and when the sun was teasingly lowering Lux clutched her arms. Once they reached his truck he opened the door for her, politely giving her a smile as a friendly matter and she took the bait. When he rounded on the driver side he paused when he pushed his key in the ignition.

"Um, Hey Lux," He watched her turned her attention to him and he almost wanted to burst out his confession but his scent glands started to itch so he scratched them instead from letting out his suspicions. "I know you're not dressed and all but the coat looks great," He fumbled when he saw her brows furrow in question. "I mean it's covering up a lot of you! And I really want to go to this place."

Lux felt her upper lip shift, her teeth showing. "ugh, God Ez!" She started to reach for the handle when a soft grip caught her shoulder.

"No, No! Not like that..." He tried to study his voice from cracking. "It's a place where people go to have fun."

Blue eyes caught his in a monotone look. "You mean a bar?" She deadpanned.

Ezreal swayed his head, a thoughtful look on his face before he huffed out, "Yeah, it's a bar but!" He shot his finger up a her. "A fun bar, like video games and pool tables, which I can totally beat your ass at."

Lux let out a huffy chuckle, crossing her arms she held a toothy smile at him. "You do because you take competition too seriously." She cocked a brow at him, her bright face still smiling. "But I refuse to go if it's a heavy alpha territory."

"Like I'd risk that crap." He started his car, planting his hands on the wheel he continued to look at her. "It's nothing like that I promise. No one will bother you there when I'm with you."

She dropped her smile and watched his face, needing to find seriousness in it. "Okay. I trust you." Lux buckled herself in, not bothering to pay him anymore attention as he quietly hyped his acceptance and started to drive to the location.

The sun by now was gone, the dark void above casting it's glitter of stars and the moon was on full display. The ride there was a bit confusing, many turns and tunnels and then Lux found herself on the side of the city she never recognized. No more street lights were built along the road and Lux held on her sleeve from nervousness.

"This place is safe..." She timidly asked, slightly sinking in her seat. "Right?"

Her friend gave her a cheerful thumbs up and a wink. "Been there plenty of times! No problems for me."

"Yeah but you're a," She swallowed the word, not wanting to offend him. "A guy."

He gave a sharp shrug before giving the wheel a long turn and then up ahead was a highlighted, small building. "I made some friends here." The closer they got Lux got a good look now when he parked the car in front of the structure.

The color was dark, grey walls on the outside and the roofing was solid black. A long beam stretched above from preventing rain to stain the dark-out windows. Lux felt her brows dip when she saw a familiar neon splatter but shook it off when she caught a few people coming out the bar, the muffled song inside burst with hyped-up rock when the door opened. The said people, were two girls, dressed in way too many blacks and way too many belts and their hair style wasn't anything like in the city. Feeling way too out of place she turned in her seat and stretched over to look below on the car flooring.

"What are you doing?" Ezreal was about to open his door.

"What do you think?" She climbed in the back, ruffling through his 'emergency' swap clothing. "Look at me and look at them!" She jutted her chin at the people and Ezreal couldn't stop from letting out a huff. "I need something to blend, you should have told me the dress code!" She hushed in a frustrated whisper.

"Dress code? Look what I'm wearing it's nothing like what's inside there." He rested his arm on the wheel, turning his torso to watch her ruffle through his clothes until she picked a set.

She sharply turned at him, giving him a smug frown. "You look the part." She held his clothes to her chest and gave her finger a turning motion. "Don't even peek!"

He shot his arms up and gave her the privacy until Lux caught his eye in the interior mirror. Reaching up and giving it a harsh slap to shut it close he only chuckled when she huffed again and started to shed her clothing. She pulled over a black turtleneck to hide the collar and put put on his skinny jeans that were obviously bought in the woman's section, the ripped holes at her knees and upper thighs gave the look at least. Pulling off her hair tie and giving her hair a smooth down she tucked the hair band around her wrist and when she tapped the back of her friends head to let him know she was ready they both got out.

Lux brought her hand up to her neck, feeling the collar underneath the soft fabric her friend led her inside while holding the door and when entering she was ready for her nose to start itching from all the smells from other people emitting inside but to her surprise it smelled like an ordinary bar. Looking around she noticed the place was well kept and clean. The walls were wooden, no booze stains on the flooring and the bar itself was pristine. In the middle were four pool tables, two already taken. On the side of the square room were rows of round tables, not much of people were sat on them but the booth had plenty of folks that were just chatting, it was actually a nice calming atmosphere.

Until someone holard their way.

"Ezzy!" A skinny man waved to catch their attention and it sure did work for Lux because who could miss on someone who had large thick brown eyebrows and a mustache that belongs in the western era. His hair was slick back and hit eyes were oddly blue as well. His skin was dark tan and his nose curled up into a point. His side burns were spikes out, making him look like a man half transitioning into a werewolf.

Another man was with him, more large almost bolstering but his facial were softer, more gentlemen-like. His eyes were dark brown and his face was shaven clean. His hair was dark brown, curls and ruffles made it a wild style and yet it fit his features. And of course their clothing style was beyond different then Lux had seen anyone dress in. Shabby in some areas and clean steamed in some.

Lux felt her arm being softly tugged, forcing to look up at her friend who gave her a reassuring smile.

They both pulled up to the two boys and Lux heard her friend greet them and when she wanted to look away she found that the skinny boy was already ogling her.

"Lux," The blonde boy motioned his hand to that same guy. "This is Mylo-" Who, in return gave her a wink, his toothy grin a bit weasel-ish. "And this is Claggor." The larger boy only smiles politely before catching his friend flirtingly at the poor girl already and gave the back of his head a sharp smack.

"This is why you don't have any woman friends." Claggor's voice was deep.

She watched the skinny boy grunt at him as he rubbed the harsh hit but waved him off as he turned back to her, his smile returning. "I can't help myself when I'm talking to...uh-"

Lux felt her lips twitch when she watched the poor man giving her friend a signal gesture towards her and Ezreal only replied with a loud laugh and said, "This is Lux, my best friend."

Mylo opened his mouth to answer but quickly shut it to look directly at her. "Lux! Wow what a name-" He stammered and cleared his voice, wanting to sound more manly as he straightened up and held out his hand to her. "That's a very pretty name."

Blue ocean eyes stared at his hand and when he started to feel embarrassed and brought that same hand to slick back imaginary upkeep of his hair.

Ezreal gave a tap on her shoulder when he pointed to one of the pool tables and she remembered that he did wanted to play earlier. Mylo clapped his hands and rubbed them together as he heard Ezreal playing and Claggor let out a huff of what was going to come next.

"You guys gonna play? Wanna do some bets?"

Lux only shrugged and gave a small "sure."

Mylo sneakily ducked under the table since Claggor was hauling the seat next to him and when all four of them gathered around the sides of the gaming billiard Mylo pointed two fingers at them. "Alright! Two on two, blondies verses under siders." He jabbed a small blue square box over the pointer of his pooling stick, powdering the tip before tossing it to Lux which clearly caught her off guard when she fumbled to catch the small item and then landing on the floor. Claggor chuckled at her display when he plucked one of the smaller sticks and held it out for her to take.

With a quiet, "Thanks." She looked at her friend that was already in position.

Getting the table ready and when everyone settled on the amount of winnings per ball Lux nudged the blonde boy to catch his attention.

"Oh! Let Lux just enjoy, she's new here and all."

Mylo gave a shrug and a, "Alright but your doubling up then."

They started the game. It went oddly sooth and Lux found it pretty fun when she watched each of them take their turns, bending over and aiming their eyes at the ball to shoot one into one of the pockets the ball had bounced around before hitting one, making it spiral across the flat top until it almost made it to one of the pockets. Mylo glared at the striped ball and Claggor held him in place from flipping the table over.

Ezreal nodded his head, signaling that it was her turn and when she got into position at the main sphere she suddenly felt her knees weaken. She had to bend a bit to get the angle right to actually hit the solid color ball. Biting her lower lip she slowly bent at her waist, the cushion rails eased against her hips and when she lowers her head to look directly in sight of the shot she pulled her cue stick back before giving it a hard nudge. The impact caused the white ball to sky rocket over her target and went flying near the corner of the bar.

"Oh jeez!" She gripped her stick and hastily went after the spiraling globe that ricochet a few times before finally coming to a stop in the dark area of the room.

Before she bent down to retrieve the ball she heard a voice above her. Her entire system stiffened, her eyes widen at her out reached hand. That strange voice...

And when she thought the smell of the bar was airduct out she smelt the familiar fresh paint and oil seep into her nose. Slowly turning her head up she saw that very same woman from the store. Up there, hanging in the rafters in the bar was the blue haired woman, looking down at her with a wide, tigerish grin.
