Work Text:
Rumi shivered as the tip of a large canine fang grazed the inner flesh of her thigh. Jinu couldn’t hold his human form well in this state where he intensely focused on her and nothing but her.
She could admit now that it scared her the first time they were intimate like this, but there was something…primal? base? about his transformation that turned her on even more.
His lightened eyes—soulful dark brown shifting into gold—looked up at her from where he lay at the apex of her thighs. For being a four-hundred-and-twenty-one-year-old demon used to dramatic gestures onstage, he was much shyer in bed than she had expected. Rumi could practically read the thoughts flitting across his face: Do you feel good? Am I doing this to your satisfaction? What else do you need?
Rumi responded to his nonverbal inquiries by trapping his head between her marked thighs. He gave a full body shiver and Rumi watched with smug satisfaction as his patterns rippled across his bare back. Flesh color deepening into vibrant glowing magenta.
Hot.
Jinu was shy, Rumi had discovered, but not inexperienced.

“Where did you learn all this from?” she'd asked once as he went to grab towels. Jinu had offered his face as...well, stress relief as Rumi troubleshooted bridge lyrics for their next single—a task that Zoey had assigned her to finish by ten o'clock in the morning, so help her.
“Do…do you really want to know?” he asked as he sat back down beside her and threw the larger towel her way.
“Wouldn't ask if I didn't want to know,” she said in a manner nonchalant enough to hopefully throw him off as she patted herself dry. Jinu didn't know that he was Rumi's first partner ever, and Rumi intended to keep it that way. It couldn’t be leaked that not only was the lead singer of Huntrix sleeping the lead of the Saja Boys, but also that she lost her virginity to him. That would simply be too embarrassing.
He cleared his throat before mopping his face with the smaller towel. Rumi rested her chin in her hand and smirked, knowing that the expression always caused Jinu's cool facade to crack. When he finished and noticed, he blushed and looked away.
Loser, Rumi thought affectionately.
“Well, if you really want to know. When you're a handsome singer for the royal palace, court ladies suggest other uses for your tongue after performances are over.” Still averting his eyes, Jinu felt around for her hand. Rumi willingly gave it to him with some amusement. He held it tight, drawing small circles on the inside of her wrist with his thumb. Rumi noticed the familiar corded bracelet encircling his wrist. “I resisted it for a while, but...eventually I gave in as a way to increase my favor with certain unmarried high-ranking courtesans.” He emphasized “unmarried” as if that would make his actions less scandalous in the late Joseon Period court.
Rumi managed to keep her expression intact despite a chuckle building in her chest. Loser-y old man.
Jinu gave a sigh. “I didn't, however, do it with someone...someone that I had feelings for."
His eyes flitted to her face for less than a fraction of a second, but that was all Rumi needed to feel like her face was on fire.
"Feelings?"
Jinu answered with just a slight inclination of his head.
"Feelings for who?" she asked, her expression slipping.
"...You, you silly Hunter," Jinu responded. “You’re my…my first, if you’re thinking about it in that way.”
Screw shoulder bumps, stolen juice pouches, bathhouse towel arm ties, slimy drool-covered duck invitation cards, or even corded bracelets. Right then, in that moment, a demon stole Rumi's heart forever.

Rumi felt Jinu's tongue thicken and split inside of her. He was losing himself to her taste.
Fuck.
Each tine methodically alternated running along the spot inside her that felt best.
Fuck, fuck, fuck!
She was close.
"Good..." Rumi meant to say "demon" as a teasing barb, but it didn't come out that way. To her horror, "boy" was the noun that came out instead.
She froze for a moment, sure that such a term of endearment would ruin the moment. It didn't. Jinu closed his golden eyes and wantonly moaned into her, the vibrations against her skin tantalizing. She squeezed her thighs around his head, sending him into overdrive.
"Good boy," she repeated in her lower register—just dipping into the metaphorical edge of her wavering demon voice—with a dumb smirk. The repetition made him break. Jinu began humping the bed like a mindless animal while his nose repeatedly brushed against her clit, almost to the point of overstimulation. As silly as it sounded, the last straw in Rumi's book was the snapping of his hips—now dark violet with glowing patterns methodically emphasizing every muscle present—against the mattress.
Hot.
Hot.
Hot.
Rumi was no better than Zoey with pretty faces or Mira with abs. She came within moments. The pleasure surged through her muscles, clamping and contracting for much longer than what she normally experienced. She wondered in her orgasm if there was something about demons that increased the sexual pleasure of their partners, for Jinu was a much better lay than any other she had heard Mira or Zoey discuss over snacks on the couch.
Like the “good boy,” he was (even if he wouldn't admit it aloud), Jinu didn't dare move until she was done. When she finally made the move to adjust their positions, he scooted up beside her and laid down on his stomach to watch her. The unspoken adoration shining in his eyes was palpable.
“Okay…I don't think I have another one in me,” Rumi croaked with a tired half-smile. She felt all limp and gooey now.
"Are you telling me the truth right now?" Jinu asked, obviously skeptical with a face still covered in her wetness.
Now that he had asked, Rumi pondered his proposal. Was she telling the truth? A glance at the hotel alarm clock confirmed her worst fears that yes, she was right. There would be no second orgasm today on account of the time.
“…Shit. Shit!" Rumi jumped up and made a beeline for her discarded hoodie, jeans, and underthings littered all over the hotel room floor.
“What happened?” Jinu asked, wiping his face on a bit of bedsheet.
“Overestimated how long we would take. Zoey and Mira expect me in ten minutes for rehearsal.”
“…Oh.” Something in Jinu's body language wilted similarly to how his messenger tiger expressed his disappointment, causing Rumi's stolen heart to give a weird side patter-like sensation. She knew Jinu liked spending time with her after their hasty intimate moments—even going as far as offering to rebraid her hair—and she had failed to remember that. Rumi was a bad...friend? Friend with benefits? Almost-girlfriend? Well, whatever she was, she was bad at it.
“Same time next week?” she asked, drawing near to the rumpled bed where a naked Jinu sat with his whole…business still in view.
Jinu perked up. “Y...yeah, same time next week.”
Rumi smirked good-naturedly as she pictured a striped blue tail suspiciously similar to his tiger’s quivering furiously behind him. She couldn't help but lean in to kiss his cheeks, nose, and mouth despite gold eyes with slitted pupils, sharp talons, dark patterns, demonic skin, upper fangs, and even boar-like tusks replacing his lower canines. Jinu was still Jinu, no matter what form he took.
"Stay out of trouble?" she asked against his lips.
He returned the smirk around his large and protruding teeth, an endearingly silly face. "I'll try, but no guarantees."
Rumi felt her stomach drop. Her Jinu, her sweet, thoughtful, and deserving Jinu, still had a mission to collect souls of fans for the demon king. A mission, she knew, that was compromised because of her. If Gwi-Ma found out Jinu had affection for her, all of the thing that they had—this precious thing—would be over in a heartbeat.
How unfair. How utterly unfair.
Rumi left before Jinu noticed the tears of fury threatening to fall from her eyes.
