Chapter Text
The only reason Katsuki would ever show up to something so stupid— was because Kirishima said that Izuku would be there.
Not that Katsuki would ever admit that he only knocked on the door to Mina's house was because of the green haired dork.
When he enters, atleast half of his class is sprawled out in a clean living room. Bean bags, pillows and blankets. And Kaminari is laying face down on an air mattress. Laughter rings in his ears, making him gulp. A speaker dings and turns on near Jirou.
Katsuki's eyes scan the room for green hair. and he finds it. The precious boy, sat right next to Ochako; eating gummies out of an open bag on the carpet. He's next to Izuku in four long strides. His hand lands on Izuku's head, ruffling his hair. "Yo."
Izuku tilts his head up enough to see Katsuki. He blinks. Then smiles. "Hi Kacchan." Katsuki huffs, then plops down. Crisscrossing his legs with his hands on his knees. "I-"
He's interrupted when shrieking laughter erupts across the room. Mina's hand is on Kirishima's shoulder. He scowls, but eavesdrops anyways. "Good idea, but those games are childish, no?"
"Their tradition!" Kaminari insists. Kirishima nods in agreement. "Manly too."
"UGH! Fine." Mina stands, Katsuki's eyes follow curiously. She comes back with a black, long bottle. It's obviously wine, the red liquid inside sloshes as she sits back down. Everyone is semi-quiet now— seeming to have caught on. The speaker is toned down as well. "Alright everyone! We're playing Seven Minutes in Heaven. Get in a circle losers."
Nobody moves for a second. Kaminari is the first to crawl over. Jirou groans in reluctance. But she moves to his side anyway. After that, everyone forms a tiny circle with the people that showed up. Which isn't so big.
Todoroki blinks and turns to Izuku, who is two people down from where he sat. "What is this?"
Izuku's cheeks color. He turns and nods towards the bottle that now laid on its side in the middle. "The bottle is supposed to spin. The two people it lands on go in a closet for seven minutes." He mumbles.
Just as he finishes, Mina claps, and the bottle is spun. It lands on Jirou. A few people laugh, Jirou only rolls her eyes before standing. Kaminari announces the timer has started once their both in the closest near the staircase behind Katsuki.
The time passes quickly. Mina bursts out of the room with a grin. "Nothing happened." they both claimed. which was obvious.
The bottle spun again once they were both sat back down. The next few rounds are short and harmless. Kaminari and Kirishima are shoved in, laughing. They come out laughing. Sero and Momo talk.
Then it's Izuku's turn. He's still trying to politely decline when Mina takes the bottle and spins it for him. The anticipation doesn't last very long.
It lands right on Katsuki.
His lips twitch upward as he stands. Izuku's pink in the face, eyes wide. Katsuki looks down. "Cmon." He jerks his chin toward the closet.
Izuku scrambles to his feet. The closet door shuts behind them.
Dark. Warm. Too small.
Izuku is pressed against the wall, the scent of burnt sugar and something sharper curling in his nose. Katsuki doesn’t move, just stands in the dark like he’s thinking. It's cluttered, full of random objects.
it’s quiet. Awkward. Tense. The kind of silence that thrums with unsaid words and years of complicated history. "You nervous or something?” Katsuki says quietly. Izuku laughs shakily.
“Should I be?”
“Depends.”
Silence again. Then a shuffle of feet. They’re standing close. Izuku puts the blame on the cramped space-- not on the way he leans into Katsuki. Katsuki doesn’t move away.
“You’ve been weird lately,” Izuku mumbles. Katsuki scoffs. “I’ve always been weird. You’re just slow.” Izuku blinks. “What?”
Katsuki just sighs and grabs Izuku by the collar. Izuku is pulled closer, their noses touching. "Your slow." Katsuki repeats, eyes locked onto Izuku's. Acting like his neck wasn't pink.
Izuku gaped, "No i'm-"
Katsuki quickly pulled his closer, their lips met. It was clumsy. Just enough to get Izuku to stop talking, and give his full attention. He made a strangled noise, his hands flew up to curl in Katsuki's shirt.
Katsuki pulls away-- just barely. "I'm in love with you. slowpoke." Izuku's eyes widen. "What?"
Katsuki snorts like Izuku just proved his point. "I didn't want to waste my chance. When that bottle landed on me-- I knew I had it." he starts to explain, but Izuku is still stuck on those other words.
I'm in love with you.
Katsuki noticed that. Almost immediately. "Jesus-" He groaned like it was a chore. But his fingers twitched every few seconds.
"No- no i get what you mean."
"Do you?"
Izuku doesn't answer with words. He just leans back in. The kiss isn't clumsy anymore. It's heated-- filled with thoughts that were easily conveyed through the movement. "I like you too."
"Like?"
"Love."
Katsuki grins and pulls him right back against his. Hands gripping Izuku waist, hard enough to keep him still. Izuku gently presses forward, and Katsuki gets the hint.
Izuku is quickly lifted, legs wrapping around Katsuki's waist. The timer their on is now remembered, because the pace speeds up. Izuku's back is to the wall then; his spine pushed harshly against the shelves. He pulled his lips away.
they stare at each other for a second. Katsuki's grip softens. That's when Izuku notices how flustered he really is-- how flustered they both are.
“I don’t want to pretend anymore,” Katsuki whispered. “I like you. I’ve liked you. I just didn’t know how to let myself have you.”
“You have me,” Izuku whispered back. “You’ve always had me.”
A knock on the door just then. "Times up!" Ochako called out.
Katsuki lets Izuku onto his feet. "You wanna talk more later?"
Izuku nods--not because he wants too. He's nervous. But because it's bound to happen.
They part with a lingering look--something new blossoming between them.
