Chapter Text
My dearest Crowley,
I do apologize that I haven’t been able to visit as often as I’ve wished these past few weeks. The bookshop is, admittedly, much more cluttered than I initially believed it to be. It turns out that 200 years of collecting can result in a rather large amassment of items. Oh, and with how delicate all these first-editions are? I simply can’t trust a moving company like you urge me to. Don’t even get me started on my scrolls of prophecy, most of them threaten to crumble even with the most delicate of care… It’s all a bit of a nightmare, to be frank. Though, I remain assured that it’s most certainly worth it. It’s odd seeing the bookshop increasingly empty, but I know that everything will be safe and sound in the cottage.
Speaking of, I finally managed to sort out the remaining paperworks regarding our new home. The woman I’ve been communicating with was rather insistent on doing things digitally, but you know how frazzled I get with these modern machines. I couldn’t manage to access the strange sites she was urging me to visit on my trusted personal computing machine. Either way, while I do have plenty of faith in my Amstrad’s hardware and disks, I’d much rather have the documents to our house safely in physical hand. The woman was reluctant, muttering something about how she ‘hasn’t had to do physical paperwork in years,’ but ultimately allowed me to make this purchase in the manner I saw fit.
I know that you’re still rather convinced that we could have just moved in and ‘owned’ it with the help of a miracle or two, though I assure you that this is the better method, even with the hassle that has come with it. (Perhaps if you’d taken the time to do the same with your old flat, you wouldn’t have had to live in your car for so long before getting it back…) I’ve finally finished wrapping up some pesky loose ends, and we should be able to look to truly begin moving our belongings at some point next week. Perhaps before then, we could reconvene a night this week at the Ritz, if you have the time. I’ve been rather busy, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t missed your presence.
Yours,
Aziraphale
(P.S: I know you’re rather fond of your statues, but are all of them really necessary? You know which one I’m specifically speaking of. It just might be a bit… much, don’t you think?)
