Chapter Text
Darkness wrapped around Noah like a cloak, plunging him into a space of eternal black. His heart thundered as fear gripped his soul.
Had his eyes stopped working?
The thought was fleeting, as not a moment later, Noah realised what had happened. He was travelling through some sort of black abyss. But that wasn’t entirely correct. It wasn’t only black. Interspersed within the emptiness surrounding him were splashes of purple. They whirled and stretched as far as he could see. Some zoomed past, never to be seen again, while others seemingly persisted forever.
Just how big was this place?
As he continued to descend through the unknown, his surroundings began to morph. Darkness became light, and that light quickly grew so intense that Noah was forced to slam his eyes shut. When that wasn’t enough, he threw his hands over his eyes to help further reduce the pain.
Noah felt the light attempting to sear through his hands and eyelids, yet he held strong. What felt like minutes passed, but in reality, it was only seconds. No sooner than he began to worry, he felt a gentle breeze brushing against his skin. It was such a contrast to the more sheltered base they had back on Xyphos that he immediately broke out in goosebumps.
Curious to know whether he had arrived at the dungeon location, Noah slowly opened his eyes, enjoying the sensations that were overwhelming his senses. Alongside the soothing breeze, Noah inhaled, revelling in the aroma of nature unmolested by civilisation. Everything was fresh, and Noah couldn’t help but breathe it in deeply. The dungeon’s purity had left him spellbound for a moment.
[Welcome to the Blackstorm Mountain Dungeon Challenge. For this event, you must survive and find the exit before the three-month timer concludes. If you have not escaped by that time, you will be extracted safely, but your event will be deemed a failure. Death within this event will result in permanent death.]
[Warning: During the Dungeon Challenge, you may find that you are not alone. There will be monsters, and there will also be other participants.]
Noah looked around and took in his surroundings. The world was vibrant, especially on the tiny island he found himself on. Colourful flowers dotted the space, each releasing a rich, pleasing aroma into the air. On the outskirts of the island, a few palm trees stretched into the sky, providing pockets of shade as the sun bore down upon him.
Yet it wasn’t hot. A gentle breeze kept the temperature under control. It also created a subtle ambience, forcing the leaves and grass to rustle as they were gently blown around.
Surrounding the tiny island Noah stood upon was a small yet glistening ring of water. It gleamed a vibrant azure blue as the sun highlighted its rich colour. Noah watched in fascination as a small dragonfly buzzed around, shooting towards the water before quickly retreating.
Beyond the tranquil ring of water, the landscape morphed into something less picturesque. Vast fields of tall waving grass stretched endlessly in every direction. Their colour faded both as a result of the harsh sunlight and the arid environment that Noah could glimpse beyond. Just by looking at the landscape beyond, Noah was certain that dangers lurked out there, waiting for him to come.
Beyond the fields, a single stark black mountain rose like a giant pillar into the sky. Dark, foreboding clouds surrounded its upper peak, obscuring the peak from view and casting a menacing shadow across the rest of the mountain. Lightning snapped and flashed in rapid bursts, descending from the ominous clouds in frequent abundance. Noah held no doubt in his mind that the exit lay somewhere within the mountains' treacherous confines.
After examining the landscape, Noah refocused on his current situation. The small island he currently stood on was perhaps twenty metres in length and width. As he wondered about its purpose, his eyes widened in disbelief as a familiar sight materialised before him.
He was not alone. Before him stood Kyle, who was staring back at Noah, his own disbelief clear to see. Noah watched with a grin as Kyle's face lit up, with a massive smile stretching across his face. They would not be alone. Not only that, but he had ended up with his best friend.
“Noah!” Kyle shouted, taking two quick steps forward and embracing his friend in a hug. “We aren’t alone! I was so nervous about doing this on my own, but now I don’t have to! I’m glad it’s you who is with me,” he commented, looking down at his feet in a brief moment of shyness before staring into his friend’s gleaming grey eyes with a smile.
Noah looked at Kyle and then at Whisper in relief. He had been worried things were going to get very lonely. “I’m glad we aren’t alone,” Noah agreed, smiling back. “Do you think the others are with someone as well?” he asked. Now that he had a companion, he couldn't help but worry about the welfare of his friends as well.
“I hope they are. I wouldn't want one of our friends to be struggling on their own. A few of them will at least have a portrait friend, so they won't be completely alone, even if they didn’t end up in a pair like we have.”
Kyle then paused, thinking about the notice he had read. “Did you read the system notice? This event might last three entire months. We didn’t pack three months' worth of supplies,” Kyle commented, a hint of worry etched into his words. As he finished speaking, he glanced away from Noah and took in their surroundings himself.
“I think we can find our way out sooner rather than later. We might not be the strongest, but we both have some useful and powerful skills to work with,” Noah acknowledged before following Kyle’s glance.
“Yeah, that’s true!” Kyle responded, drawing confidence from Noah’s words.
“Before you arrived, I was looking at our surroundings,” Noah shared. “It looks like the dungeon is pretty huge, but there are a few things that caught my eye. First is the tiny island we are on. Do you think this island is like a safe zone? It seems to be very intentional. The ring of water and the island look almost perfectly circular,” Noah observed, studying the detail once more.
“Oh. It could be,” Kyle agreed, understanding Noah’s train of thought as he stared at the island himself. “How big do you reckon this dungeon is exactly?” he asked. As he spoke, he realised that Whisper would be able to answer the question, and as such, his eyes strayed towards the pup in question, where he spotted him doing somersaults in the air.
“Actually! Whisper, do you think you could take a look for us?” Kyle asked, looking towards the pup hopefully, a small smirk pulling at the corner of his lip.
“Definitely! It looks pretty big, but I will be the fastest I have ever been! See you soon!” Whisper replied before rocketing off into the horizon.
As Noah watched Kyle’s bond disappearing into the distance, a thought surfaced in his mind. “How does Whisper always know where to find you?”
“I think we are connected somehow. He just seems to know. Maybe it’s something a bond can simply do?” Kyle replied, not having a better answer to give. He then turned his attention to a question that had brought him unease. “Do you think there will be fights? We aren’t exactly a damage-focused pair…”
“Probably,” Noah acknowledged, seeing no reason not to be honest. “But we have one thing going for us, even if we don't have sheer strength,” Noah replied, feeling slightly more confident in their situation compared to Kyle.
“What is that?”
“Speed! We can probably move a lot faster than most because I can chain [Teleport] into the distance!” Noah replied with a grin.
“That is true! I reckon we can do it in under a month. Although I’m not sure what the exit looks like. Do you think it could be a portal? Maybe it's a hidden door or something?” Kyle said, running through a few of the obvious options.
Noah considered the question. “It could be one of those. We will have to look carefully. The last thing we want is to miss the exit. I bet it’s somewhere in those mountains, although I'm not eager to go there. They look dangerous.”
Kyle nodded in agreement as he stared at the mountains, watching lightning crackle and flash around them. “What do you want to do? Should we stay here for the first day? Let Whisper scope out the area?”
“That seems like a good idea,” Noah agreed before pacing around the small chunk of land in search of the perfect spot to sit.
Seeing Noah sit, Kyle moved towards him and then settled himself down beside him. Together, they stared into the distance. Things were silent and peaceful, yet they knew that would not last.
But in this moment, while things were serene, Kyle took the opportunity to reach out and gently cradle Noah’s hand within his own. The pair locked eyes, a curious smile on each of their faces, and then they returned to gazing into the distance.
The world flashed white as Oliver vanished from their district and arrived in the dungeon. Disoriented, he refrained from moving and instead took in the vast mountain before him. He watched as lightning crackled and flashed around it, illuminating the mountain silhouette against the dark clouds that surrounded it.
He stared, fixated by the view. Oblivious to everything else until the faint sound of someone crying, mixed with the occasional sniffle, caught his attention. Curious, yet also alarmed by the fact that he wasn't alone, Oliver panned his vision towards the origin of the sound. He kept a guarded stance, not risking anything until he could be confident that he was safe. The stance didn't last long as his eyes locked onto the source of the noise. It was Jack.
“Jack? What’s wrong?” Oliver asked in concern and surprise, scaring his friend and causing him to jolt backwards.
“Oliver?” Jack replied tentatively, not believing his ears. As he turned, he spotted that it was indeed his friend. He tried to quickly compose himself, not wanting to appear babyish to Oliver. Using his right hand, he wiped away the tears that had been streaming down his face and then with a shaky, uneven voice, he responded. “I… I thought I was alone. I… I didn’t know what to do.”
“You had Daniel with you. He would have made sure you were okay,” Oliver replied with a gentle smile, pointing towards his friend's storage Bracelet.
“Oh yeah,” Jack replied, his chipper nature returning.
“Well, how about you get him out? I can't imagine being trapped in a storage device is much fun,” Oliver suggested as he watched Jack stare at him with a goofy smile.
Instead of listening to Oliver, Jack launched himself onto his feet and dashed towards Oliver. Oliver stared in alarm as Jack barreled towards him, and instead of slowing down, the pair collided as Jack wrapped his arms around his friend and hugged him tightly. Relief washed over him as he realised that he would not be doing this alone.
Oliver reciprocated the hug for thirty seconds before pulling back. “We really should get our friend out of the storage bracelet,” he said, speaking gently.
Jack nodded, and in an instant, the portrait of Daniel appeared.
“Oliver?” Daniel spoke, confused by how Oliver was before him, and not Jack, whom he had been assigned to.
“Jack is holding you,” Oliver pointed out, noticing his confusion.
“Ah! Well, that is good news. Having two of you will hopefully make things easier,” Daniel commented and then stared into the surroundings, looking at what exactly they were dealing with.
As each boy entered the dungeon, they quickly found themselves with a companion to navigate the event with. Ben had ended up with Callum, and both boys were delighted by that revelation.
Alaric had arrived with Victor, who was determined to break Alaric from his stupor.
John and Mirkon were together. It was a pairing that wasn't particularly familiar with one another, and so both saw it as an opportunity to build a new bond.
Tobias and Glenn were the next pair to arrive, and they were happy. Unlike Mirkon and John, the pair had already built up a strong relationship.
Nyxaris had been paired with Alfie, and the two of them were happy enough with the pairing. They got along well enough with everyone in the guild, which meant they would have been fine, regardless of who they had been paired with.
The final pair to arrive in the dungeon were Grunnok and Graxion, and they were determined to beat the dungeon quickly.
Because several of the boys had also brought along a portrait, a few of the pairs found themselves with a third and even fourth companion.
Most of the boys were relieved, knowing they would be able to rely on a living friend to navigate the unknown before them. Three months would have been difficult, as, despite how useful their portrait friends would be, they ultimately could not interact with the environment or fight.
Four hours after arriving, Whisper finally returned. He had managed to explore the entirety of the dungeon for the pair of boys.
“What did you find, Whisper?” Kyle asked, hoping for some good news.
“Lots! There were monsters, people, a village, and all sorts! I think I saw a shiny treasure chest as well!”
“Huh? People?” Kyle commented, focusing on that particular detail. He found himself slightly confused by the revelation. “Why would there be people inside the dungeon?”
“I don't know? They were there, though!” Whisper replied, tilting his head curiously, causing both ears to flop over.
“What else did you see?” Noah asked, wanting to ensure they got every detail before clarifying the facts.
"I saw that the mountain is on the very edge of the dome," Whisper commented, offering another parcel of knowledge.
Noah nodded. “You said there were people. Were they from the dungeon or from Xyphos?”
Whisper answered without hesitation. “Both! I think the people in the village live here. But there were three more islands like yours, and I think the people who were travelling away from them came from Xyphos. I didn't get too close in case they were mean, but I did see that most were short with fur on their chin.”
“Dwarves?” Noah guessed. The way that Whisper had described the dwarves was endearing, yet at the same time, if they were dwarves, then that did not bode well for them.
“Are Dwarves dangerous?” Kyle asked, not knowing exactly what they were.
“If they are the corrupted dwarves, then yes, I think so. Didn’t Thalorin mention them being one of the stronger Dark Alliance races?”
“We should stay away from them then," Kyle responded. It seemed like a simple conclusion to make. "What about the village? Where was it?” Kyle asked, looking towards Whisper this time.
“It was at the base of the mountain. It’s impossible to get to the mountain at the moment, though.”
“Why?” Noah asked. It would seem there was still more information to be gleaned.
“Because there is another dome surrounding the mountain,” Whisper explained, once again not being very forthcoming with important details.
Kyle nodded, knowing that was just how Whisper was. He was too young to understand the importance of key details. He was still just a pup.
“Okay. So what’s the plan?” Kyle asked, looking towards Noah.
“Hmm…” Noah replied, pondering the question. “I think the exit must be somewhere in the mountain. The challenge will be figuring out how to remove the dome and then dealing with whatever is locked behind it. I believe the village is the key to entering the mountain, so that should be our first stop.”
“What is the surrounding terrain like, Whisper? Anything dangerous?” Kyle asked. If they were going to set off, then it made sense to know what to expect.
“I don't know. The grass is too tall.”
“He's not wrong,” Noah admitted. “I can't teleport to what I can't see, and the grass is tall enough to block everything but the mountain. I can't teleport to the mountain because of the dome, so we will have to go on foot for now.”
Leaving their safe point, both boys waded through the ring of water. It was shallow, reaching just above their knees at its deepest point. It was also surprisingly warm. Noah had expected to feel a cold bite.
After breaking through the water, Noah reached out and grabbed Kyle by the hand. The boy looked at Noah in surprise, prompting Noah to explain himself.
“The last thing we want is to get separated in the tall grass. I can't believe how tall it is. I didn't realise that it would be taller than we are,” he explained, looking up at the grass. Some of the grass must have stood at least ten feet high.
Kyle nodded. He hadn't needed an explanation. Squeezing Noah’s hand, they pushed into the unknown.
For hours, the pair navigated the grass. It felt dense and unending. They couldn't even be discreet, as the grass rustled lightly as they pushed through, reluctantly parting for them as they journeyed towards the mountains.
“You know, I bet John will simply burn this all down,” Noah commented as a blade of grass brushed against his thigh, causing it to twitch.
“He definitely will. It's not a bad idea either. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long to push through, as it's rather unnerving not knowing if there are monsters nearby. At least Whisper is keeping watch from above.”
Noah grunted in agreement as they continued to press forward, conserving what energy he could for a rather relentless walk.
By the end of day one, the pair was still stuck within the seemingly endless tangle of grass, and reluctantly, they had concluded that their first night would have to be spent within its confines.
They spent several minutes searching for a suitable place to settle down for the night, but in the end, they decided to clear a couple of the tall blades of grass and use the density to their advantage. To remove the grass, they summoned a couple of basic knives from their storage bracelet and carefully selected a small cluster to cut down so that they could lie down without discomfort.
With a small clearing established, Noah was the first to settle down. After extracting a pillow from his storage bracelet and storing his knife away, he lay down, fidgeting in place for a while as he fought to get comfortable. Kyle quickly joined him, and it wasn't long before the pair were lying next to each other, staring at each other.
“Noah?” Kyle whispered, looking directly into his friend's drooping eyes.
“Yeah?” Noah whispered back as he stared at his friend inquisitively, his eyes fluttering as he struggled to stay awake.
“Do you think our friends are all okay?”
“I hope so…” Noah mumbled, and then sleep took hold. His breathing grew steady and even, and his stomach rose and fell. He was out cold.
“So do I,” Kyle replied quietly, despite knowing that Noah could not hear him. He watched Noah softly snoring for a moment, then, with a gentle touch, he leaned over and planted a light kiss on his friend's forehead before drifting off to sleep himself.
When daylight rose within the dungeon, Kyle was the first to wake. He stretched, feeling a small ray of sunlight landing on his chest. It felt warm, unlike the rest of his body, which was shrouded in shade from the tall grass that still swayed around them. After a pleasurable stretch, Kyle shifted his attention towards his best friend. Noah was sleeping, his chest gently rising and falling like it had been the night before.
Kyle’s focus remained glued to Noah and his body, absorbing every detail. His friend looked peaceful, his face distorted in a serene smile despite being asleep. Further down Noah’s body, Kyle found his gaze locked onto a certain stiff appendage. It thrust outwards, reaching towards the sky as it gently pulsed. Kyle stared, transfixed. Was his friend dreaming? If he was, was it a naughty dream? Perhaps he wasn’t dreaming at all. They were both of an age where erections were commonplace after all.
Whatever the answer was, he was not going to ask, as the answer didn’t really matter to him. They were just idle thoughts that crossed his mind as he watched his friend.
What he was going to do was wake his friend up. Daylight was quickly rolling in, and it was time to get up and continue the dungeon. With a gentle hand, Kyle reached over and gently shook Noah awake. He pulled his hand back as he watched Noah startle, throwing his hands out in alarm. Noah was clearly still unused to the sensation of someone jostling him awake.
“Wha? What happened?” Noah mumbled, sitting up and unconsciously squeezing his erection.
“It’s daytime,” Kyle answered. “We should probably get up and moving soon.”
Kyle paused, staring at Noah, watching as he continued to fiddle with his erection subconsciously. After a second, he added a second comment. “Do you, uh, need to take care of that first?” he asked, pointing towards his friend's twitching penis.
Noah’s face flushed crimson as he realised what Kyle was referring to. He moved his hands in an attempt to hide his shame before remembering it was Kyle. They had done stuff together already. He had no reason to be embarrassed by his friend seeing him like this.
“I… uh,” Noah replied, unsure how to respond. He felt like he needed to, yet he didn’t want to delay their exploration if Kyle was eager to leave.
Kyle quickly realised that Noah was still as shy as ever, and so he decided to step up and help Noah. Without hesitation, Kyle reached over and wrapped his hand firmly around his friend's straining penis. He felt it pulsing. Noah was exceptionally horny right now. Before he began to help Noah, he glanced at his friend's face, double-checking that it was okay to proceed. Catching Noah's tentative nod, Kyle grinned in delight as Noah's cheeks flushed red.
With a green light from Noah, Kyle began to pleasure his friend, gently manipulating his foreskin back and forth. He used slow, consistent strokes with his right hand, while his left gently rubbed up and down the length of Noah’s chest.
“Oh,” Noah moaned as he felt his body involuntarily shudder from the sensations.
Above them, Whisper watched silently. He was curious about what they were doing, yet he could sense it was supposed to be intimate, and he did not want to disrupt that.
Kyle continued to manipulate his friend's penis, switching up the pace now and then to keep Noah stimulated. He watched as Noah closed his eyes, losing himself to the moment. Spotting Noah embracing the pleasure, Kyle decided to do something he had never done before. He scooted slightly closer to Noah, shimmying towards him until their hips were almost touching. Then, after making sure Noah’s eyes were still closed, he leaned closer until their faces almost touched. Not wanting to chicken out, Kyle committed to his plan. He leaned forward, locking his lips onto Noah’s and gently planting a small kiss.
Noah felt something touch his lips, and he opened his eyes in shock. His eyes locked onto Kyle’s, which were less than an inch away, and it was in that moment that he realised what had happened. Kyle had kissed him! Noah stared speechless for a moment, unsure what to think.
Kyle stared lovingly into Noah’s eyes, “Did you like that?” he asked, a goofy grin plastering his face. He moved slightly further back, giving Noah some space to answer.
“It was nice,” Noah admitted with a blush. “Does that mean we are boyfriends now?” he asked. This was new territory for him. He expected it was for Kyle as well.
“Do you want to be?” Kyle replied, releasing Noah’s penis and looking at his best friend hopefully.
“I… I think so?” Noah answered, much to Kyle’s delight.
“Awesome! I was hoping for this moment for ages,” Kyle admitted, his eyes shining with happiness. His heart raced, and his mind was a blur, yet he was elated.
Fueled by happiness, Kyle leaned forward and kissed Noah one more time. He watched his friend smile, and then, with renewed vigour, he resumed manipulating Noah’s body. Using three fingers, Kyle paid close attention to Noah’s foreskin, watching as it continuously sheathed and unsheathed his friend's purple glans.
By this point, his own penis was straining, with his glans peaking out from his own foreskin, yet that did not matter. Only Noah and his feelings did. He devoted everything to pleasuring his friend. No, that wasn’t right anymore - his boyfriend.
It felt strange to say such a thing, even internally. Yet it was true! Instead of thinking, Kyle put those merry thoughts to one side for a minute and returned his focus to Noah's erection. He could sense that he was getting close. He was beginning to squirm, and he had begun gently thrusting his penis into Kyle’s fingers.
Kyle recognised the signs and used a slightly faster and slightly tighter grip. He felt his own penis pulsing at this point. He was getting a fair bit of pleasure just knowing what he was doing to his boyfriend. Eager to coax Noah closer to his crescendo, Kyle moved his left hand away from Noah’s stomach and instead had it join his right hand in manipulating Noah’s privates. While his right hand continued to masturbate Noah, his left hand began fondling his testicles. He made sure to be gentle, as he was well aware of how sensitive they could be.
“Oh! That feels so good, Kyle,” Noah moaned, grabbing at some of the nearby blades of grass and gripping them tightly.
“Are you close?” Kyle asked, keeping the momentum up, despite Noah’s now relentless squirming.
“Mhmm,” Noah replied lustfully.
Moving his grip lower down on Noah’s penis, Kyle ducked his head as he retracted Noah’s foreskin completely. He then learned forward and gently used his tongue to lap around the ridge of Noah’s glans. That turned out to have been enough to tip him over the edge, much to Kyle’s surprise. He hadn’t realised Noah was quite that close as he heard Noah grunt.
Before his eyes, he watched as Noah’s penis twitched, trying desperately to shoot. Yet it was, and would forever be, unable to, unless they obtained a new perk.
As Noah’s penis continued to twitch, Kyle watched Noah's stomach quickly and repeatedly contract. His orgasm and afterglow lasted at least a minute.
Ten minutes later, the pair were up and about, ready for day two within the dungeon. As they were still deep within the throes of the tall grass field, there was very little for them to see.
“Are you sure I can’t help you take care of your boner?” Noah asked, looking uncertainly at Kyle. His boyfriend had been walking with his erection pointing the way for the last ten minutes. He had refused his own orgasm in favour of making progress in the dungeon. He also wanted to make sure that the moment they had with Noah’s orgasm was special.
“It’s fine. Maybe it’s pointing us in the right direction,” Kyle replied, looking at Noah with a cheeky giggle.
“It only ever points forward, though,” Noah challenged, grinning back at Kyle. He watched as Kyle bucked his hips. A blade of the tall grass had rubbed against his slightly exposed glans, and the accompanying moan was enough to know that Kyle was definitely struggling.
“Your moment won't be special if it happens to both of us,” Kyle insisted, seeing Noah about to protest again.
Noah shrugged, giving up on trying to win the argument. Kyle was being stubborn. “Do you think we will escape this grass today?”
“I dont know. Whisper? How close are we to the end of this section?” Kyle asked, looking up at the wolf pup that had been merrily following along.
“You are just under halfway!”
“Thanks, Whisper!” Kyle acknowledged before returning his attention to Noah. “You heard him. We might be able to reach the end of the tall grass by today.”
“Hmm… We should probably sleep along the edge then. Use the grass for cover for another night,” Noah said, thinking ahead.
"Good idea," Kyle agreed.
They pushed forward in silence for another twenty minutes. Both of them were lost in their own thoughts.
Noah pondered on their earlier conversation. Were they truly boyfriends now? Or had it been a spur-of-the-moment thing? Perhaps Kyle wasn’t being serious. The morning's events replayed in his head. Would Kyle have kissed him if he wasn’t being serious? He didn’t think so. Maybe he should just ask.
“Noah?” Kyle spoke, his voice sounding slightly nervous.
“Yes?” Noah responded, looking towards Kyle in concern.
“Were you serious about being my boyfriend?” Kyle asked. As it had turned out, both boys had been stewing on the same thought.
Noah nodded, too shy to speak the words aloud.
Kyle smiled, taking a step closer and locking hands with Noah. “I’m glad. I’ve wanted to ask you for a while now,” he admitted, blushing slightly at the admission.
“You have?” Noah asked, turning his head and staring at his friend in shock.
Yeah,” Kyle whispered. “We’ve just been so busy, and we had been put on different teams. I feel like we’ve barely seen each other in the last few weeks.”
“That’s true. It’s really hard to make everyone feel like a member of the team. I’ve not really spoken to half of us as much as I would have liked to,” Noah responded, letting a truth off his chest. He felt guilty for not providing enough time for each of his friends.
“You are doing your best,” Kyle replied, squeezing his friend's hand. He had immediately realised that Noah was opening up and sharing a sensitive moment.
“My best isn’t good enough,” Noah insisted. “Ben has been with us since the start, and I’ve barely spoken to him since we arrived on Xyphos. He deserves better than that.”
Kyle had no words. Noah was right, yet it also wasn’t his fault. He pondered on the subject for a few minutes, walking in silence.
“We can figure something out,” he eventually said. “We will be in this dungeon for at least a month. I’m sure we will have plenty of downtime to come up with a better plan.”
Noah nodded. They did have plenty of time to work out a better solution.
“How do you think the others are doing? Do you think they survived the first night?”
“I hope so. If they are running the same dungeon as us, then I can’t see things going much differently than ours. We’ve not encountered anything dangerous yet,” Noah said, considering their own first day.
“True. The grass is also tall enough that it’s almost impossible to see anything. I suppose a monster could smell us, but Whisper hasn’t mentioned seeing anything anywhere yet.”
