“Dad hasn’t been home in a few days.”
“He’ll stumble back sooner or later.”
“Dad’s on a hunting trip, and he hasn’t been home in a few days.”
“You can’t expect me to drop everything, Dean.”
“You’re not hearing me, Sam, Dad’s missing, and I need you to help me find him.”
“Dude, you remember the poltergeist with the colander? Or the woman in white with the stainless steel colander? He was missing then too, he’s always missing, and he’s always fine.”
“Not for this long. Now, are you gonna come with me or not?”
~~~~~~~~
“What are we dealing with here, Dean?”
“It looks like Dad was looking into something called the ‘Blue Devil’ in Green Hills, Montana. Locals have apparently been heard referring to it as ‘Sonic’, and it’s been described to look like a hedgehog supposedly. Rumors online talk of a creature that can run at the speed of light. Any picture of it online has only captured a blue blur.”
“Well, that’s not a whole lot to go off of, dude.”
“Bitch, I’m doing the best I can with what I’ve got to work with. There have also been reports of it all around the country. Apparently, there have been sightings of it in San Francisco as well as…”
“What?”
“I can’t believe I’m going to say this.”
“WHAT?”
“...in space…”
Sam takes a beat as Dean turns Baby onto a back-wood road. Sam turns towards Dean as he speaks.
“Surely you’re not insinuating that this demon’s… an alien?”
“Of course not, that would be ridiculous.”
~~~~~~~~
As Dean and Sam pull up to the local bar, the Emerald Tavern, they prepare themselves for what’s to come. However, as they enter the bar, many things become apparent in an instant.
Firstly, they are one of the few that have decided to show up tonight. Secondly, the ‘demon’ that they seem to be following is but a simple hedgehog, not a fiend in need of extermination. Thirdly, that hedgehog is, in the simplest terms, going through it.
Sitting at the bar counter is Sonic, with blue quills alongside his crisp, white gloves and vibrant red sneakers. He wears a pair of brown khakis and seems to be several drinks in for the night. He doesn’t seem to be much of an issue for the surrounding patrons. The others in the bar do not appear to be bothered by his presence. In fact, they seem quite familiar with the pint-sized creature.
As the door shuts behind them, they watch as Sonic downs his glass, already signaling to the bartender to give him another.
Sam and Dean exchange a look before heading towards the bar.
Dean slides into the seat next to him without asking, while Sam hovers awkwardly next to his brother for a moment or two, before attempting to lean casually against the bar on Sonic’s other side.
“You look like hell,” Dean said bluntly, then added, “for a hedgehog.”
Sonic scoffs and tries to muster up a smile, but doesn't look up from his drink. “Fastest thing alive, and I still can’t outrun my own problems.”
Sam leans forward, voice gentler. “What’s going on, Sonic?”
For a long moment, Sonic says nothing. His fingers idly trace a circle on the rim of his glass, restless but slow—uncharacteristically slow. Finally, he lets out a breath he seems to have been holding for quite some time.
“He’s gone,” Sonic murmurs. “Shadow. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but… he understood me. He fought beside me. And now—” his voice cracked—“I don’t know how to keep running without him.”
Sam’s brow furrows, recognizing the ache in Sonic’s tone. He attempts to exchange a glance with Dean, who doesn’t meet his eye and is uncharacteristically quiet.
Dean cleared his throat, trying for levity. “You loved the guy, huh?”
Sonic finally lifts his head, and his green eyes flicker with pain. He raises his glass to his lips and downs his drink in one go. After a moment, he nods. “Yeah, I really did… Still do.”
Dean exhales slowly, leaning back from the bar counter. “Yeah, well… I get it. Losing someone like that… it doesn’t stop hurting. But you keep moving. You run. Run fast. Not because it’s easy, but because they’d want you to.”
Sam adds, softer: “When you lose someone that close, you don’t stop missing them. But you carry them with you. Every step.”
Sonic looks down at his empty glass, then back up at the brothers. For the first time that night, he manages a small, genuine laugh. “You guys are weird. But thanks.”
After a beat, Sonic takes a glance around, “Hey, let me get you two something to drink, as thanks for the pick me up!”
Sonic flags down the bartender and orders a round for the three of them. Sam and Dean introduce themselves as law enforcement (obviously), and Sonic is thrilled to hear it, seeing as his dad is also a policeman. Before long, they’re all chatting and bantering like old friends.
~~~~~~~~
The night stretches on, the three of them swapping stories over beers. Sonic is nursing his umpteenth drink while Dean has been steadily making his way through the tap list. Even Sam lets himself relax into the buzz.
Dean throws his head back at one of his own jokes, laughing so hard his hand jerks. The glass tips, amber liquid spilling across the table and straight into Sonic’s lap.
Sonic shot up from the booth, yelping. “Dude! These are my only pants!”
Dean slaps a hand over his mouth, snickering. “Ah, crap. Sorry, Speedy. Didn’t mean to baptize you.”
Sam was already grabbing napkins, shoving them toward Sonic. He goes to dab the new stain on Sonic’s trousers, however Sonic shoves Sam’s hands away with a blush.
“Here, here—get to the bathroom, we’ll help.” Sam says as he starts to lightly usher Sonic towards the restroom.
The bathroom is cramped, dimly lit, and smells faintly of lemon cleaner. Graffiti liters the walls. Sonic walks to the sink, hovering awkwardly, confused why both the brothers decided to join in on this little field trip, but too drunk to dwell on it. Sam runs the faucet and Dean, still grinning, arms crossed, leans against the wall.
“Alright, pants off,” Dean says with a devilish smirk.
Sonic’s blush deepens, the blue hue of his fur, turning purple,“N-not happening.”
Sam shoots his brother a reprimanding look, “Dude, come on.” He turns back to Sonic. “We’ll just dab it out. Hold still.” As he speaks he grabs Sonic around the waist, his grip gentle as he lifts him, setting him on the bathroom counter.
Sonic sighs, shifting uncomfortably as Sam starts blotting at the stain with damp paper towels. Dean doesn’t help at all as he leans against one of the sinks, chuckling the whole time. “Oh how the mighty have fallen. The fastest guy alive and you still can’t avoid a little spill.”
Sonic attempts a chuckle, not truly getting the right levity out of it, “Hey, it’s not my fault you’re the clumsiest guy alive.” Sam begins to dab higher up on Sonic’s thigh, the sensation eliciting a shiver down Sonic’s spine, unable to stop himself from letting out a breathy sigh. The sound of it causing an awkward hush to fall over the room.
“Haha ha.. sorry, it’s just gotten a bit hot in here ya know?” Sonic stutters as the blush coloring his cheeks crawls down his neck.
In the silence, Sonic starts to fan himself with his hand. He barely registers the alluring aroma that has begun permeating the dingy bathroom.
Sam stiffens as the scent hits his nose. Dean seems confused as he registers the look on Sam’s face. It only lasted for a moment. “What.…Sam?...”
“Sonic what’s going on? Are you okay?... What’s that.. amazing smell?” Sam says as he inhales a deep breath, another wave of omega pheromones washing over him.
“I don’t know what’s going on! I… I can’t control it. Ever since Shadow, my heat cycle has been on the fritz.” Sonic seems panicked, however the longer time passes, the more he seems to melt, his eyes going unfocused.
Dean realizes two things at this moment. One: Sonic is an omega spiraling into an unplanned heat. Two: Sam, a dominant alpha, is following suit as he leans in and seemingly sniffs closer and closer to Sonic. If they didn’t leave soon, and fast, Sonic’s heat cycle was going to induce Sam’s rut.
Dean, also being an omega, fumbles in his leather jacket’s pockets for his spare pheromone suppressants. He comes up empty handed. “Shit.”
Dean, recognizing that they have limited time, starts pleading, “Hey guys I… I think it might be best if we all get out of here and clear our heads… right?”
As Sam leans close enough to brush the tip of his nose against Sonic’s neck, a wave of potent alpha pheromones hit Dean like none he’s sensed before.
“Hey Sammy, did you take your suppressants today?” All Dean gets in response is a growl from deep within Sam’s throat.
At this moment Dean fully understands, there’s no way out, only through.
“Sonic… Dean… please… I can’t stop myself,” Sam says as he nips at Sonic’s neck. As he does so, Sonic turns his head, giving better access to Sam. As he turns, his unfocused eyes make contact with Dean, locking on in the process.
And like that, Dean’s last strand of sanity snaps, moving towards the pair like gravity.
As another powerful surge of Sam’s alpha essence hits Dean, he redirects his need to a more acceptable target, locking lips with Sonic. Sonic moans into the kiss as Sam assaults his neck.
A tumult of noises ricochet off of the bathroom walls all at once as the lights flickers. A moan. A sigh. A gasp. Then Sam is ripping off Sonic's pants. As Sam’s hands come back to Sonic’s body, he comes to realize Sonic is soaked. Dripping in anticipation.
Sam twirls his finger around Sonic’s quivering, surprisingly pink, ring, then gently starts working Sonic open with a finger. “Oh god,... more. I need more.” Sonic breaks away from Dean with a moan.
As if possessed, Sam flips Sonic onto all fours. Dean lunges forward, grabbing Sonic’s face with both hands, delving deep into the caverns of Sonic's mouth.
Sonic breaks free, kissing his way down Dean's neck. Dean takes a breath as he stares up at the ceiling, catching his breath, realizing all of a sudden that Sonic's headed south.
Sonic rips open Dean’s flannel. Sam’s breath catches. Dean is confused as to why his brother’s breath would hitch like that, however he gets sidetracked by Sonic’s exploration. An exploration following a path downwards with a giddy determination.
A gloved finger traces Dean’s anti-possession tattoo on his chest, going on to swirl around a nipple as Sonic makes his way further south.
As Sonic’s finger catches on Dean’s belly button, Sam works another finger in. A soft moan fills the room as Sonic curls inwards, upwards, arching his back and gripping the countertop tighter.
After a beat, Sonic unfurls. He takes a deep breath in and lavishly licks Dean's jean button before popping open his pants and sensually lowering the zipper with his teeth.
Dean’s pulsating manhood bobs free, tapping Sonic’s nose with the reverb.
Sonic grabs hold of Dean’s member with a firm grip giving it one, two, three pumps before giving the head a sloppy lick and then sucking kiss.
Sonic swirls the head of Dean’s pulsating manhood with his tongue, before he starts bobbing his head up and down along his cock in earnest, nastily slurping, sounds bouncing off the grimy walls.
Just as Sonic gags taking Dean to the back of his throat, Sam pulls his fingers out and slams in. Sonic gasps at the sudden invasion.
Sam starts out with slow, leisurely thrusts, however after a while, Sonic pops off of Dean's dick with a wet, sucking noise and demands, “Sam you… you gotta go fast.”
Sam, as he registers the wanton demand, begins driving into Sonic at break-neck pace, sweat dripping down his neck, the glisten catching Dean’s eye. And then, the brothers catch each other's eye, causing them both to involuntarily tighten their grips.
Dean’s fingers curl into Sonic’s quills as he thrusts back in; Sam’s fingernails dig into his fur, as they both thrust deep and hard.
Sonic comes with a gush and a throaty, garbled moan. As the waves of Sonic’s orgasm hits the brothers, the brothers high five; up-top. Eiffel tower style.
The brothers maintain eye contact as they both lock fingers and come one after the other.
“DUDE,” moans Dean. “BRO,” chokes Sam, as they both twitch out their climaxes.
The moment; this moment. It’s too much. Too monumental. And the eye contact; they can’t break free. It contains… something more. Something more hidden within both of their glistening orbs. Something more visceral. Something that cannot be broken or disregarded upon discovery. Something that’s been building up for years. To this exact moment. A moment that was bound to happen. A moment they were bound to come to. No matter what.
The brothers pull out of Sonic, entranced by this fragile moment. The hedgehog goes limp with exhaustion and flops towards the mirror. Out of the way. No longer does anything separate the two brothers.
Encapsulated by the moment, Sam and Dean gravitate towards each other.
They stand toe to toe, unable to break eye contact. A moment passes. A shared breath. And then that moment is broken as Dean lets out a broken whimper, his eyes flickering to Sam’s lips.
Sam and Dean crash into each other, locking lips, and although it should feel wrong, it feels like they were always meant to be. Their worlds are justly righted with a view of what the full picture should be. Them. Together.
Sam’s hand roams down and around Dean’s member, overly sensitive and wet. He gives a pump, then another, before gliding around his snatched-ass waist and yanking down his pants.
Sam is incensed as he realizes Dean wears nothing underneath.
As his fingers cleave through his sculpted ass, Dean’s breath catches and Sam is sent further over the edge. Because Dean’s soaking wet. His weeping asshole begging for Sam.
Sam dips into Dean’s chocolate star (lmao), pulling a moan from Dean. “Sammy,... please. I need…” His forehead smashes into Sam’s shoulder. “I need you,” he says as he rocks back onto Sam’s thrusting fingers.
Sam withdraws his fingers and Dean experiences an emptiness that hurts like nothing else.
All at once Sam flips Dean over and slams into Dean, a fullness like no other. “Holy shit Sammy… ahhhh it’s too much.”
It’s tight, too tight. Sam begs, “Why don’t you just try to relax, Dean.”
“Why don’t you just try to shut up, Sam.” Dean winces as he tries to adjust to Sam’s girth.
After a moment and a shallow involuntary thrust from Sam, Dean moans. As uncomfortably thick as Sam’s satin wrapped steel may be, as soon as Sam starts moving, the delicious friction between the two can’t be denied.
As Sam picks up pace, so too does the desire and high that Dean rides heightens.
Dean digs his fingernails into the dirty countertop, “Oh Sammy, please.”
Sam’s hand wraps around Dean’s chin, forcefully tilting his head up to face the mirror.
“Look at you taking me, all of me,” he punctuates the point with a deep thrust.
Dean moans and involuntarily clenches, leaning back into the rhythm of Sam’s thrusts.
The sound of skin slapping on skin fills the filthy room as Sam picks up the pace once again. He begins a breakneck pace, unsustainable for either brother, pushing them both towards their breaking points.
With a final thrust, Sam slams home, and both brothers erupt. This climax is like none before. Entirely too much. Too sensitive. Too… real. Dean collapses onto the sink in front of him, the water automatically spraying him in the face.
Dean sputters, lifting his face from the faucet and wiping away the water only to make eye contact with Sonic in the mirror.
Sat on the lone toilet seat, legs crossed with a chilli dog in hand. “Cumming on a little too fast there, brother,” he says, then takes a giant bite.
Dean looks back at Sam, making eye contact for a beat. Sam pulls out and then gives a small shrug of the shoulders. Who’s to know what could possibly be going on inside Sonic’s mind. They had accomplished their mission and then more. Exorcised the Blue Devil as well as each other.
~~~~~~~~
The night air outside the bar was cool, carrying the faint buzz of neon signs and the muffled thrum of music from within. Dean shoves his hands in his jacket pockets as he and Sam make their way across the parking lot in awkward silence.
“Kid’ll be fine,” Dean muttered, glancing back at the bar door. “He’s tougher than he looks.”
Sam exchanges a knowing glance with Dean.
Before Sam could reply, the air shifted. A sudden rush of wings fills the lot, and Castiel appeared in his usual trench coat, expression unreadable.
“Good work,” Cas said simply, his gravelly voice cutting through the quiet.
Dean raised a brow. “On what, exactly? We didn’t slaughter anything tonight.” An awkward beat passes through the group as Dean and Sam avoid each other's direct attention.
Sam opens his mouth to speak, but Cas’s tone shifts, heavier. “Crowley contacted me. He claims to have a lead on something dangerous—a shadow demon that has escaped confinement.”
Dean groans. “Figures. Guy can’t call unless it’s bad news.”
Sam frowns. “A shadow demon? That’s not something we’ve come across in a while.”
Castiel’s eyes narrowed. “This one is different. Crowley believes it may be connected to… the creature Sonic lost. Shadow.”
The brothers freeze.
Dean’s smirk faded into something harder. “You’re saying the thing that killed his partner wasn’t just some random accident?”
Cas’s voice dropped, almost a whisper. “It’s possible that Shadow wasn’t merely killed. He may have been… consumed. Bound to something darker. Crowley says the trail leads here.”
Sam’s jaw tightened. “So while Sonic’s in there blaming himself, the truth is Shadow’s death was part of something bigger.”
Dean swears under his breath, glancing back toward the bar. “Damn it. He deserves to know.”
But Castiel steps forward, his expression grim. “Not yet. If you tell him now, grief may cloud his judgment. First, we find the demon. Then—we decide what Sonic should know.”
Dean, for the first time since they’ve emerged from the bar, exchanges a long look with Sam. Neither of them like it, but both know Cas is probably right.
Finally, Dean sighs, shoulders squaring. “Fine. Let’s go talk to Crowley.”
Behind them, muffled laughter spills out of the bar door where Sonic has been trying, for who knows how long, to outrun his past. The Winchesters turn away, carrying the weight of the truth with them.
