Chapter Text
The wind blew biting and howling mercilessly, its icy fingers clawing at Danielle’s face, tugging strands of hair freely around her face as she stepped into the bar.
The small space was all ready buzzing with sound, music playing loudly through the speakers, in the mostly dark space was with dim colorful fluorescent, lighting. The scent of cigarette smoke wafted through the air making her mouth crave the taste of nicotine, this trip tonight was supposed to be a little break, from her ordinary routine.
But the moment she stepped inside something felt different but she could not quite put her finger on it.
Something had shifted; there was an otherworldly energy here that hadn’t been present before. In the many times having frequented the bar having a drink after work or just having a fun time blowing off steam after a long exhausting day.
It lit a tiny flicker of curiosity, a spark of something she couldn’t place, but felt drawn into it regardless.
It was monthly poetry reading night. It wasn’t super busy for a usual Friday night, but it was still early.
**
Smoke curled from the end of Dani’s cigarette, and she watched each of the local writers read their works on the small stage. It was near the end of the hour, inching closer to midnight.
The stairs creaked with weight of soft leather boots, revealing the next to last performer in all her glory. Her black messy hair glowed in the dim light, with some stray strands, framing a dark and lovely, angelic face.
**
Dani was absolutely mesmerized by her raw, unfiltered but also soft energy, this was what she was feeling from the moment she walked in, this delicate framed figure on the stage.
Her eyes were otherworldly it must be the lighting she thought but they glowed like the way flames flickered. Each word she spoke from a velvet voice bled her pain into every single word, Now, she was more than curious. Her soft features were shadowed with a weariness that went beyond the mere physical, as if the weight of her past etched into every part of her face. Pure melancholy.
**
Amanda wasn’t one for spontaneity, for emotional entanglements. Her life consisted entirely of a carefully constructed, routine each decision, precise, and controlled. The hunt was the only thing that mattered when it came to down interacting with mortals. To look for, seduce and then destroy. It felt a little freeing to have just done such a thing even if mortals here only just understood it in metaphor.
After taking a little bow from the bar patrons' applause, she then went in search of a drink.
**
The bar now was a little sanctuary for now while a storm, began to rage outside. Well so much for a hunt until it passed.
The air remained thick with the scent of lit cigarettes and something sweet, now in the mix something berry, but vanilla too. Her gaze lifted from her drink the bartender had placed in front of her, at once fixing onto a pair of soft violet eyes.
The female smiled, taking the eye contact as a quiet invitation to approach.
“Impressive,” she said slightly nervous, as she began to run a finger along the smooth neck of the bottle of liquor in her hand.
“Thanks,” Amanda said, her voice softening a little, “It’s my...escape sometimes, I guess. I’m Amanda by the way, feel free to join me if you’d like.”
“Sure,” looking relieved, to not be rejected.
“I’m Danielle,” she said smiling softly taking a seat right beside her.
“Just Dani is fine though.”
Amanda took a sip of her drink then turned her body to face her better, eyes narrowing slightly, taking in the way her hands fidgeted with her shirt and the hem of her jacket, the way her gaze flicked away before meeting her’s again.
The silence that followed was heavy with unspoken tension, with the sheer weight of the energy that hummed between them. Dani’s own curiosity took over.
“I’m a writer too actually, but mostly just journalism nowadays.”
“Interesting, do you write for the local newspaper?”
Amanda asked very curiously. She was a little fascinated with reading the articles in them every single weekend.
“It’s more of a counterculture thing; I have my own writing column with the Berkley Barb.”
Dani took a sip of her drink and looked towards the window, where the storm raged on, the wind now blowing and whipping the trees in a frenzied intensity, before dropping her gaze on a little notebook on the table, the pages filled with elegant, scrawled words and a few impressive little sketches.
“Still writing?” Dani asked, her voice low, her curiosity getting the better of her. Amanda followed her gaze, her expression hardened a little, her body language closing slightly, along with the notebook.
“The poem was lovely, but tragic is all of your work equally that intense?”
“Sometimes…It’s...complicated.”
Dani sensed some walls now going up, the emotionally charged look in her eyes was so sad before it became hidden too. “It’s okay, I know what you mean.” She respected it, even understood it. She had walls of her own, after all. But something about Amanda’s sheer vulnerability, her beauty and raw unfiltered energy in the moment, still drew her in like a moth to a flame. Her eyes.
“Complicated is my specialty,” she said, her tone now lighter, teasing, with a bit of a smile an attempt to ease the tension.
What are you? She thought to herself.
Amanda’s eyes flicked up to meet hers, a tiny spark of something flickering in their depths-
hope? sadness? fear? desire? -
before it quickly just disappeared.
The Amber glow a stark contrast to the dark storm right outside.
“They’re beautiful,” Dani said, her voice sifting to wonder, like a halo of warm fiery golden light.
“Your eyes.”
A real smile spread, across Amanda’s face soft, warm, and genuine.
“Thanks,” taking in more of the beauty of Dani’s entire face.
“Yours are too. Like Irises that bloom from the snow in the early Springtime.”
The sweet compliment tugged softly at her chest, then felt a sensation she couldn’t quite name. It was just a little bit unsettling, this pull toward someone so different, so intense, someone who wore softly inner pain in their warm gaze and in the way they spoke.
They talked easily for a couple of hours about music, writing, about art, about the world beyond San Francisco.
Dani found herself opening up too, sharing, her struggles as a queer woman in a male-dominated industry, the way she had had to fight to be seen, and to be heard. Amanda sat listening, quietly.
Her gaze intense, interested, her questions probing but never too intrusive. It felt like, she saw the real her, in a way that no one had in a long time. It was, refreshing, exciting, like they had always known each other.
Amanda talked about her passion for painting, having done it her entire life since she can remember.
“I have a studio; you really should come see it sometime.” Amanda offered as they said their goodbyes.
She smiled and wrote her phone number, and her address info on a bar napkin, before handing it over to her.
“Sometimes it’s just easier to just show up, because I tend to play my music really loud sometimes.”
**
The following evening Dani sat on the edge of her bed wrapped tightly in a towel- fresh out of the shower. She stared at the bar napkin with Amanda’s home address. She was intrigued by the invite but cautious. Also, a bit nervous to show up the very next night. The mundane routine everyday was getting to her, why not take a risk?
The news station played quietly in the background as Dani got ready. Not wanting to look much too desperate, she rummaged through her closet looking for something that would at least show that she was trying...but not too hard.
More comfortable in a good fitting pair of slacks than a skirt or dress, she hurried to the mirror, examining her “not so desperate outfit” in slim black slacks, a collared shirt and wool vest. “More like a job interview...” she sighed, grabbing her leather messenger bag and swiftly tossing on her worn leather coat and loafers, heading out on to the streets to Amanda’s address.
**
She tussled her hair, a longer shaggy pixie cut, checking it out in a nearby store windows as she walked the city blocks, stopping short at a street vendor who was selling flowers.
“Those,” Dani pointed to a bouquet of purple and violet flowers - not wanting to show up empty handed.
A few more blocks and she finally reached the building. Stylish loft apartments on the upper-class side of town. “Wow,” she gasped with amazement, typing in the code Amanda provided on the napkin to grant her access to the private elevators that would lead her to the loft.
**
The elevator doors opened to a narrow hall with one door. The entire 8th floor was Amanda’s. Dani could already hear the music thudding through the walls as she approached the steel doors. She knocked timidly before realizing she should be pounding louder; however, Amanda already sensed her, surprising her by opening the door right before Dani could knock again.
“You came...” Amanda smiled, she was wearing little sporty shorts and a tank top covered in paint splatter. “And with gifts?” she laughed taking the flowers at once.
“Yea...I um, I thought they looked pretty,” Dani smiled...but not as pretty as Amanda was with her beautiful glowing caramel skin and loose wild curly waves. Amanda led her inside, guiding her to the vast open kitchen, fetching a vase for the flowers.
Dani looked around the space in complete awe. She must make a large killing to live in such a place....
“I’ll turn down the music,” Amanda smiled, placing the flowers in the center of the kitchen table before rushing over to the stereo. Dani watched Amanda glide effortless across the open space, her bare feet barely making a sound upon the cement flooring. To the right of the stereo was a large canvas and many paints. She could almost make out the painting of a moonlit night sky, in various shades of blues and violets.
“Drink?” Amanda asked, as if she appeared out of no where, Dani had became lost in the painting from where she stood at the kitchen bar.
“Umm, sure...whatever you’re having,” Dani raced her eyes back to Amanda in the kitchen as she poured them two glasses of blush wine. Dani’s eyes now fixed on Amanda’s delicate hands and the many rings she wore on each finger. They clinked against the glass as she placed it in front of her. “You like jewelry,” Dani smiled.
“Yes, I’ve acquired many unique pieces through the years,” Amanda said softly before sipping from her glass, leaning against the kitchen counter across from her.
Dani took her glass, not realizing she was now gulping it down instead of sipping it.
“Thirsty?” Amanda teased with a smile.
“Shit,” Dani laughed, placing the near empty glass down. “I am just really out of my element here...”
“No, you are exactly where you should be,” Amanda smiled, pouring more wine into Dani’s glass.
“This is really good stuff, expensive...” Dani laughed again, this time just sipping.
“Beautiful things deserve only the best,” Amanda playfully toasted to her. “Come, let me show you around the place,” Amanda spun around taking Dani’s hand and leading her into the studio space first.
“You’re a really good artist,” Dani remarked, marveling at the large canvas paintings still in progress.
“I like to capture the night...” Amanda set her glass down and began pulling the canvas sheets off her finished paintings to show Dani her finished works.
“Oh, these are beautiful....” Dani’s eyes widened at the vast collection of paintings. Many night skylines and still life paintings of women lounging about in bed or baths. There was always specific detail in the lighting and shading of the night sky that lived in them. You could almost tell if it was late evening or the Twilight hours by the shading. “You capture it all so perfectly....”
“I enjoy it, it fills my time at night,” Amanda lit a cigarette and offered it to Dani.
“Thanks,” Dani reached out, their fingers brushing slightly in the exchange.
Amanda was studying her as she dragged deeply, still lost in the paintings. Such a curious thing, and her style was unique. She didn’t dress like other girls. She didn’t wear any make up, or any jewelry, she smelled like fresh soap but no perfume. She could hear Dani’s pulse, slightly elevated by the wine, and her figure hidden behind the straight lining of menswear, she surely could be mistaken for a boy until someone saw her face.
Amanda quickly grabbed one of her silk robes hanging off the back of the couch, feeling slightly underdressed in Dani’s presence. The long silken robe caught Dani’s eye at once.
“Vintage?” Dani eyed it curiously.
“Mmm hmm,” Amanda playfully twirled, letting the long silk robe float around, “the thrift stores here have some wonderful treasures.” Amanda plopped down on the large sofa in the studio. The robe fell open just slightly revealing her long curvy legs as she crossed them. Dani stood before her, again enchanted by Amanda’s regal beauty - an otherworldly essence about her, and her scent filled the room like high end perfume. Everything about her was expensive and delightful; and Dani was again gulping the wine from her glass.
“Come sit,” Amanda laughed softly, sensing Dani’s nerves.
Dani walked over to the large circular sofa that wrapped around the studio space. The wine already hitting heavier than she expected. - What is in this? she thought, already feeling the buzz, dragging once more from the offered cigarette, and taking a seat way to close than she meant to. -Shit....she placed her empty glass down on the table, and when she sat back against the sofa, her hand rested on Amanda’s thigh. She sat frozen for a moment, realizing the miscalculation of her space, yet before she could move her hand and apologize, Amanda placed her hand over top of hers.
Dani turned her gaze to Amanda; her skin flushed from the wine and her senses heightened by it- as if it were something magical. Amanda’s face caught the glow of the candlelight beside her and her feline like features illuminated so perfectly- it was difficult to ignore the growing pang of attraction that Dani was fighting since last night at the bar. Yes...I want it ...I want it...
Without a word or hesitation, Dani dove in, kissing Amanda against her soft lips, both eagerly parting their mouths open, their wine drenched tongues slid over one another’s in a fiery exchange. Amanda lifted her hand to the back of Dani’s head, leading the kiss deeper and Dani’s hand slipped up between the silken robe, finding Amanda hot between her thighs against the thin fabric of her shorts.
Amanda moaned into their kiss, feeling the pressure of Dani’s soft hand rubbing in slow firm circles, her thighs parting slightly, and Dani panted hot against Amanda’s lips, “I want you...”
Amanda slipped her robe, allowing Dani closer to her skin, the scent of her blood was driving her mad. She bit her lip hard, letting it bleed into her mouth as Dani trailed kisses along her throat to her chest, pulling the straps of her tank top down and freeing her supple breasts. Dani kissed and sucked each nipple, running her mouth back and forth eagerly between them, still circling and rubbing the warmth between Amanda’s thighs that now leaked wet with need right through her shorts.
“Fuck...” Dani gasped, feeling the slick wetness against her fingers, she raced her mouth back to Amanda’s, barely noticing the taste of blood.
Amanda pulled Dani in tightly to her, making her straddle against her thigh. Dani rubbed hot against her in the kiss, her desire flaring up by the second. “I want to taste you...” Dani panted into Amanda’s mouth.
“It might not be the best time...” Amanda panted back, knowing her arousal was tinged with blood, she didn’t want it to be off putting.
“I don’t care...” Dani shoved Amanda back, kissing hot against her throat now yanking down her little shorts, revealing her bare beneath, “I really don’t fucking care,” Dani kissed down Amanda’s body, falling to her knees on the floor. She gently parted Amanda’s thighs wider, then brought her fingers to her pulsing heat, spreading the petals of her dripping flower apart and diving her tongue to it, lapping slowly at first and finding the ache, circling wet around it.
Amanda let out a soft moan, Dani’s mouth was open warm, and it felt too good to stop now, the taste of blood wasn’t stopping her at all- only driving her more intense with desire. She sucked and licked hungrily, making Amanda buck into her mouth in pleasure. She raced her hands to Dani’s hair, locking her face in place as she began to roll into her tongue. “Fuck that feels so good...” Amanda panted, rolling her hips against Dani’s mouth, controlling the pressure, and humping hard against her face. Dani gripped into Amanda’s thighs, her moans vibrating deliciously between Amanda’s thighs, adding a thrill to the sensations she was already experiencing.
-She thought what an eager little mortal...unafraid of the taste of blood and hungrily trapped between my aching need. -
Dani swiftly slid two fingers into Amanda’s dripping hole, making her cry out.
“Mmm hmm....” Dani moaned into her, her taste addicting like warm honey, this mysterious beautiful thing, she wanted to consume it all completely.
Amanda’s thighs began shaking in an eruption of pleasure, and the blood honey leaked from her all over Dani’s fingers, splashing in so wet. Amanda gripped the sofa, her hips grinding into Dani’s mouth and fingers as she hit ecstasy. Dani felt her pulse inside and squeeze into her, she raced her mouth to her, tasting the flood of her desire as it leaked out.
Amanda quaked against Dani’s mouth, only now wanting more, feeling free in the willingness of this mortal’s acceptance- she did not shy away, she did not fear the taste of her body, she in fact...reveled in it.
“Take off your clothes...I need to feel all of you...” Amanda panted, pushing Dani back, and pulling her up to her lips once more- tasting the hot blood between them. Amanda tore at the buttons of the vest and collared shirt, forgetting her strength as the seams tore and buttons flew across the floor. “I can buy you more clothes...as many clothes as you want...’ Amanda moaned hot into Dani’s mouth and Dani quickly forget about her clothes being destroyed in the moment. All that mattered was meeting skin to skin- and Amanda was desperate now to meet there.
Amanda’s eyes met hers, her gaze searching hers, now questioning, as if she were trying to read Dani’s soul.
Still holding eye contact, a little bit longer, feeling a heady feeling that went beyond words, spread throughout Dani’s body. She was a little high from the blood and wine consumption but still present in the moment.
Amanda leaned in, her lips now very softly brushing against Dani’s own, so soft it was barely a touch, making her sigh as her eyes fluttered closed, her breath caught in her throat, with her body leaning into the kiss, fully focused into the moment, her heart and mind were racing. She wasn’t sure what this was, what it meant. But she knew one thing, she never wanted to walk away.
Dani moaned, her head falling back as Amanda’s lips trailed down her neck, her teeth grazing lightly over the sensitive skin, sending shivers right down her spine.
“Yes,” she whispered, as her hands tangling in Amanda’s dark curls, pulling her in closer. She smiled up against her skin, a little wicked, but knowing smile.
“Do you like that?”
Amanda’s hands moved even lower, slipping underneath Dani’s now torn shirt and vest, her fingertips softly traced along the frame of her body, as she pushed them back off her.
Dani arched into her touch, her skin was now humming with sensation, her mind was lost in pure desire.
“Mmm…yes.”
“Mmm.” Amanda moaned out, her lips brushing and gently biting Dani’s earlobe softly, sucking it into her mouth making her gasp, as her hands moved down towards her pants, her fingers quickly unfastening all the buttons, desperate to see and feel more of her body up close.
Quickly tugging the remaining garments free from her body in one go, before reaching up to pull her own tank top up over her head. Joining the rest laying scattered upon the floor.
Amanda’s eyes darkened, her gaze glowing hungry, her body moving with a purpose that made Dani shiver with excitement, as she pushed her back into the couch, her hands ran down over her shoulders then moved slowly lower brushing over her breasts, then her lips left a trail of fire there leading down to her lower belly.
Dani moaned, her hands gripping onto Amanda’s shoulders, as her nails dug into her skin as she felt her tongue trace patterns along her thighs that made her squirm, that made her beg for more. “Mmm, please...” Amanda’s eyes looked up, turned to a deep smoldering hue with giving pleasure before fully settling more between her legs.
“Fuck!” Dani cried out, her other hand started gripping the couch, her lower body arching off the cushions.
Amanda’s mouth closed over her, as her tongue flicked, her fingers slipped inside her, as she fucked her with a skill that left her gasping, and left her panting, hard pressing into her for more.
She whimpered, her hands now gripping Amanda’s soft hair, holding her in place as she drank her sweet taste in, devouring, teasing every inch of her with a hunger that left her legs trembling, to the edge of release.
“Ohhh, I’m... I’m so close,” she panted, her body tense, her muscles coiled tight.
“Come for me,” Amanda growled, into her wet sex, her voice thick with desire, her fingers working on her clit with a rhythm that pushed Dani right over the edge spiraling into an orgasm that had her screaming out, shaking, in pleasure.
She kissed her way back up Dani’s body, her lips now soft but wet, her touch gentle, as if she were savoring every inch of her body, as if she were carefully memorizing all of her body's responses.
“Fuck,” Dani whispered, her heart still racing, her body still buzzing with the echoes of her intense release.
“That was...”
“Yeah?” Amanda prompted, her eyes were sparkling with satisfaction, her lips curving into a smile.
“Amanda what are you?” Dani then whispered softly in her afterglow.
“Shh,” silencing her with a kiss, her lips soft, her touch gentle upon hers sharing the taste.
Before sliding down against her body. Kissing her deeply, easily distracting her from current thoughts.
**
Later, they laid tangled together in the white sheets, of Amanda’s large California king bed.
Passing back and forth the glowing embers of a shared cigarette, the room bathed in the soft, golden light of the dawn that was very slowly creeping in.
They had easily stayed up all night together. Listening to vinyls and getting lost in each other’s touch repeatedly.
Their conversation just flowed so effortlessly, weaving through their favorite band's records.
The intricacies of their most favorite genres, the challenges of collecting work, and the enduring power of music. What each song meant to them, the nights hours had passed by so quickly.
Dani felt a sense of ease she hadn’t experienced in a long time. Amanda’s laughter, low and steady, pulled her further under her spell of her unique beauty and energy.
“You know, an old friend of mine used to say that music is the language of the soul.” Amanda said wistfully thinking of a memory from her distant past.
“I think their right.” Dani agreed, before passing the end of the cigarette back to her.
Amanda put it out, getting up to put on a fresh record from the large shelf and carefully placed it on the turntable.
The sound of the music quickly filled up the room.
Cherry Colored Funk began spilling out, Dani closed her eyes, sitting up in bed and letting her body feel the music with her eyes closed her naked upper body peeked out from under the white sheets.
Amanda then felt a sense of fear. She wasn’t used to this, vulnerability, to letting someone in. She had built her walls high, and strong, her life was balanced, pretty good even.
She crawled back inside the bed softly kissing Dani and resting her head on a pillow suddenly getting a little tired.
Dani stirred, lying down moving closer. Her gaze soft, her touch gentle brushing a strand of hair from Amanda’s lovely face.
“Good Morning,” she whispered, her voice sleepy too, her lips curved into a content smile that made Amanda’s heart ache. As she kissed upon her forehead, lips lingering, touch tender.
“Good Morning,” she softly whispered back, her heart pounding in her chest.
Amanda was worried but slowly willing herself to take a risk. She just hoped Dani was too.
**
They both slept in well into the early evening. Dani woke to the strong scent of coffee, her eyes slowly adjusting to the dimly lit bedroom- catching Amanda’s figure coming towards her side of the bed with a warm mug.
“Thank you,” Dani smiled, taking the mug as she sat up. She quickly pulled Amanda back to her, kissing her softly on the lips, “come sit with me, you don’t have to run around serving me...”
Amanda smiled, slipping back into bed beside her, both resting against the headboard. She lit them both a cigarette and clicked the stereo on beside the bed. The music played soft and low in the background.
“You know, I have a friend who could get you into a studio...for all your work,” Dani said as she gazed over to the stacks of canvases lined in the bedroom corner.
“I’m not sure if I am ready,” Amanda took a deep drag, contemplating the idea of putting her work out on display for mortal consumption.
“Babe, you are too good to have it all just sitting here...do you know what some people would pay for one of those?” Dani laughed.
“Money isn’t a concern for me,” Amanda shook her head.
“Well obviously,” Dani laughed, gesturing to the grand open space loft, “it’s just...you’re so talented...the world should know, that’s all,” she set her coffee aside, putting out a cigarette before leaning her head against Amanda’s shoulder.
“You don’t have to flatter me,” Amanda kissed her softly on the forehead.
Dani slipped her hand into Amanda’s squeezing it tightly, “It’s not flattery, you really are amazing.” They sat in silence for a moment before Dani had a burst of energy, quickly sliding her body over Amanda’s, straddling her playfully, “Let me take you out...it’s only 8pm...”
Amanda laughed at Dani’s sudden proposal, “And where would you like to go?”
“Anywhere you want. Are you hungry? I can take us to dinner. Or we could take a walk around town...I can show you the studio space my friend runs, or catch a movie?” Dani was eager to show Amanda this was more than a one-night thing- even at the risk of sounding foolish or desperate. She cupped Amanda’s beautiful face in her hands, “I really would love to take you out tonight.”
Amanda smiled, considering the offer, worried the thirst would hit soon and how would she go about sustaining the pull. She already was testing her own limits -sharing a bed with a mortal, and the sweet scent of her blood was becoming harder to resist by the minute.
“But I think I may need to borrow your clothes,” Dani fell back laughing, remembering hers torn about the living room in shreds.
“Have at it...” Amanda pointed to the vast walk-in closet.
“Really?” Dani beamed with excitement, hopping off the bed in just her boy shorts and running to the closet. Amanda laughed softly watching Dani rummage through the endless collection of items over many decades, her own personal preferences mixed in with some of those from her victims that were not necessarily her style.
“You really have nice clothes,” Dani called from deeper in the closet, quickly finding the stash of mortal clothes to the left- but Amanda wasn’t concerned- everything was properly laundered.
Dani grabbed a pair of black jeans, pairing them with a simple black tee shirt, hurrying back to the bed with her finds dressing and flopping down at the foot of the bed. “So... where do you want to go tonight?” Dani looked over to Amanda, softly taking her right foot into her hand and rubbing gently along the arch. Everything was pristinely beautiful about Amanda, down to her perfectly manicured toes.
Amanda sighed, was it really going to be this easy, and dare she think it...fun? And how long could she hide her true nature before discovery.
“That feels super good,” she sighed, enjoying sitting in the moment, with the feeling of Dani’s talented fingers.
Thinking it over for a minute. It was forecasted to be a nice evening weather wise a little bit warmer than usual for early October.
“We could start with a walk. Just see where the night takes us.”
It was beautiful outside right now the leaves were starting to change to lovely shades of red, yellow, and orange. Autumn had quickly become her favorite season after coming here from Europe.
“Just give me a few minutes to get ready myself.” Amanda said, now suddenly being very much underdressed she quickly disappeared into the walk-in closet.
Finding a matching bra and panty set, before pulling on a black pair of warm tights. Then flipped through the hangers for a burgundy silky lace trimmed slip dress and a black cardigan to layer over it. It displayed her layered silver necklaces well.
Stepped into a pair of black ballet flats then fixed her hair and applied a tiny bit of lip gloss and smudged on some eye makeup from the vanity, for a soft smoky effect and finished with a dab of sweet, scented perfume oil onto her slender neck.
Taking a deep breath to calm her mind. She stepped back out to meet Dani.
Having feed well the night before it had helped a lot, but she would need to go out hunting more often now. If she was going to be around Dani even more.
She didn’t want to hurt her. She was a good natured, and kind person she could tell.
She tried her best not to go after the blood of the those who were mostly innocent whenever it was possible. There were plenty of awful criminals to prey on nowadays.
Last night took an immense amount of control and effort to be a lot gentler enough for a mortal's fragile flesh.
It felt good but it was certainly extremely hard and tempting at the same time.
Now how to tell her and when, and if she did how would she react? Well or badly? She just did not know.
“I’m ready to go now.”
Amanda said feeling still slightly nervous about things but still feeling excited to see what could happen. Would this all end in disaster? She hoped not. Was this what mortals often called a date?
