“This is what you want, my sweet?”
Xullra turns her head against the vampire’s chest, nuzzling as a soft smile lights her face. “Yes. I love you…both of you…and I…” She looks up at Astarion’s face, then turns to look at Gale’s, feeling choked up by emotion. “I know I belong to you, with you, but I want something I can carry with me always. Not just the ring, or my collar…something that can’t be taken from me.”
The wizard leans in, pressing a soft kiss to her lips. “We understand, “he says. He glances at Star, who smiles; not his usual smirk, not the facade he can still put on so easily, but something real. Gale turns his gaze back to her, “And we can give that to you.”
Astarion speaks softly, “Let me.” He tilts her head, exposing her throat. “Is this where you want mine, darling?”
“Yes. To match yours.”
Her words surprise him for a moment, and he blinks back the tears threatening his eyes. The drow makes him feel incredibly seen and loved far beyond what he imagined possible. He doesn’t speak about it, just focuses on this precious task.
Star leans in, pressing a kiss to her neck, then lets his fangs brush over her skin. Xullra sucks in a breath when they pierce, and the sting of pain quickly dissipates as he takes a leisurely draw of her blood. Gale gently holds her from behind, watching their lover drink from her, knowing that they won’t heal the wound this time, and how much this means to all of them.
After a moment, Astarion pulls back, licking an errant droplet of blood from her. He kisses her cheek, then looks at Gale. “Your turn, Wizard.”
Xullra turns to face him, looking up at him with a dreamy, love-filled expression. He smiles down at her, brown eyes meeting mismatched blue-and-green. One finger traces across her chest, stopping just down from Astarion’s mark, along her collar bone. “Here?”
The drow nods, “I’d like that. Near the other, just how it should be.”
Both men blush at her sweetness; at the implication that they should never be apart.
Astarion watches as Gale traces a small sigil over her skin, feels the crackle of magic as a faint purple glow emanates from it. All Xullra feels is a pleasant warmth, and once that fades, she is left with a silvery mark of three small starbursts.
The wizard reaches behind himself, picking up a handheld mirror from the bedside table before holding it over her. “What do you think?”
Xullra studies her reflection, appreciating what they’ve done for her. “I love it. I love both of them…they’re perfect.”
After putting the mirror away, the three of them settle into the comfort of each other’s embrace. They don’t speak it, they don’t need to, but each of them knows deep in their heart that they are precisely where they are meant to be.
