Work Text:

The light flashes a couple of times and goes out.

and then he hears a crunch.

he knew something was wrong. because Aaron has been acting weird all day. he was quiet, and it wasn’t that it bothered him, but when his brother did not answer a single barb of Neil, something twisted in his stomach.

he saw it. in the morning he watched like a hawk for his prey. Aaron was acting strange. like he was trying to hide. run away.

ignored Nicky, avoided Neil. avoided Andrew.

it was wrong.

something happened and Andrew didn't know what. and Andrew doesn’t like not knowing what caused his brother to behave this way.

Aaron didn't eat. even when Andrew forced the bar into his hands, Aaron simply looked at his hand. and then he contorted his face as if he was going to be sick.

Aaron loves these bars.

his stomach twists again. he's not worried, no. he just needs to make sure his brother doesn't die of hunger.

he noticed it during the afternoon training session.

the way Aaron looks at everyone. not as usual, disgust, indifference, uncertainty.

no. it was hunger.

he looked at them as if he wanted to devour them.

Andrew decided he'd had enough.

he drove his company to Colombia.

— they are on your conscience. — gave the keys to Neil.

the senior students went to the bar.

Andrew found his in their—past—room. Aaron stood facing the window. his fingers trembled. the jaw was clenched.

but his thoughts were not here.

he definitely noticed Andrew's presence. this was clear from the way his hands clenched into fists and his throat twitched.

Andrew will make him tell what the hell is going on.

of course he will do it. Andrew always gets his way, right?

he shouldn't have climbed in.

he should have left with Neil and their group.

— leave. — Aaron’s voice is quiet, creaky and tense.

Andrew doesn't move.

— Andrew, go. — he hears teeth chattering. still can't see his face.

— look at me.

and Aaron turns. his gaze is level, directed at andrew.

Andrew doesn't understand

— what's happening. — he comes closer. sees how Aaron resists, how he wants to retreat.

there is panic in his gaze. desire to run away. push away.

but Andrew doesn't leave. he comes up.

— don't. — whisper, but still hurts ears.

Andrew thinks he's having a relapse.

Aaron thinks he's going to lose it soon.

— what's happening. — he also whispers, not noticing. — aaron

the light blinks, plunging the room into darkness for one second.

Andrew blinks. Aaron is still in front of him.

just the gaze is different.

— I don't want to hurt you. — he swallows the last word as if his throat was being squeezed by a rope.

Andrew frowns.

— you won't.

he doesn't believe it. Aaron? anyone, but not him.

Aaron brother. Aaron safe. Aaron home.

the light flashes twice. the room plunges into darkness.

Andrew hears himself breathing.

Aaron's breath.

then — silence.

and crunch. crunch. crunch.

Aaron's breathing is interrupted.

he knows that sound.

the sound of bones breaking and skin tearing.

his own breath hits his ears as the sound fades away.

then he feels warm. heat.

he's hot, he feels something nearby.

panic beats somewhere on the left side of the brain.

the light blinds for a second. but he noticed anyway.

it is an a massive white spot in front of his eyes.

he blinks once, twice.

breathing is still even.

where is aaron? he glances around the room.

then, looks at it.

but that can't be true, right?

he is hallucinating.

or not? he doesn't take pills anymore.

then, how can this huge monster be Aaron?

warm breath mixes with his already ragged breathing.

fingers are shaking.

no. no. no.

A wolf stands in front of him. even more. more wolf, more fucking bear.

and only the eyes. familiar eyes. brother's eyes.

home eyes.

only there is zero recognition in them. there is only hunger.

Andrew wants to say something.

why. when. what you.

but doesn't have time. he only sees how someone else's mouth with sharp white teeth opens in a split second.

he wants to apologize.

for just didn't listen.

don't hurt me.

Aaron.

but he only feels teeth piercing his throat and shoulder. feels the cold floor.

and slurping. slurping. crunch.

oh. so is this true?

are you hungry, aaron?

crunch.

his head rolls on the floor. he sees himself.

his body.

and a white — bloody — muzzle, which with gusto tears his skin and muscles, getting to the bones.

oh, no big deal.

you're hungry, aaron. it's okay.

Bon appetit.
