Chapter Text
I walk off the stage, looking back at the audience. Hundreds of people cheering for us, for me. I've never felt this loved in my entire life. I turn to look at Phil, who's finishing waving goodbye, and he turns to me and smiles. That smile is my whole world. Right now, there is nothing I want to do more than kiss him, but we´re still around people. I want privacy between us, but it's exhausting to not show affection all the time. I want to be able to kiss him, hold his hand, without people speculating about our relationship (or worse, attacking us for it).
I shake those thoughts out of my head as we walk back to our dressing room. The second I shut the door behind us I practically fall into his arms. He chuckles and takes a few steps back, still holding me. He rubs my back, and I shove my face in his neck. We move towards the couch and sit down, not letting go. He throws a shirt off the couch, making space for us.
“Are you okay?” Phil mumbles into my ear.
I nod. “Yeah, just tired” I mumble back, pulling him closer to me.
Phil understands. Of course he does, he always does. Sixteen years, and he still knows me better than I know myself. Sixteen years, and he's still here. We're still here.
