Prologue
Before we tell this story, we must tell you about who we are talking about. We all know of the Gauls, The Romans, and even an occasional druid or two, but this will explain the people that are not from Amorica nor from earth itself. What I am referring to are the people that live in the sky, Star-People, as they are called. They are beings made from the stars, with the power of the sky at their fingertips, sometimes they even take the forms of animals or humans. Although, today you’d know them by their descendants, The Toons, but that's a story for another time and place. The one who rules over the Star-People, The Great Star, is the one in control of all the magic in the earth and sky and just everything in particular. It is said that he is the one who creates the Wishes that all Star-People are born with, which he grows in his giant greenhouse called “The Clouded Garden”. In fact, this is where we start our prologue, as he is now spending time in The Clouded Garden taking care and growing wishes.
The Great Star had his focus on one particular flower, when the greenhouse door opened, His Granddaughter, Asteria, had come in to see him. Now Asteria is a special one indeed, for not only is she the granddaughter of the Great Star but a living breathing embodiment of Hope, but for now she is a walking ball of sunshine. “Hai-hai, Grandfather!” She’d greet him, smiling and fidgeting excitedly, and he would greet back with as much fervor. “Haha! Hello to you, Asteria! How did you find me this time, Little Bear?” “I used my brain! And gotten help from your friends,” He started to chuckle, “Ah yes, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. Of course they would know, I'd be surprised if they didn't know where I am every time!” He then picked her up, which was not that hard to do, “now, I thought you were studying?” “Yakko Wakko and Dot pranked Uncle Calculix again, and he was too busy being mad at them. And I wanted to see you work.” Asteria answered, looking away shyly, He decided to let it slide for now, “All right, but you cannot just watch me….” he took a pause, “you can help me.” “Really? For real life??” Asteria started to bounce in his hands in excitement. “For real life, Little Bear.”
He sat her down once more before he got gloves for her little hands, then started to tend to the flowers, or rather, wishes to be exact. “Grandfather?” “Yes?” “Whose wish is that?” Asteria looked at the pond where water lilies grew, pointing at a blue and purple bulb that had yet to be bloomed. He went towards the pond with a bittersweet expression, bending down to look at it closely. “That one, dear, that one is for a very special person to someone special to them. Its grown from hope and determination… but most of all, it will bloom with love when the time is right.” “When will it be made?” She asked, grabbing hold of a few already pruned and ready wishes. “Soon, Little Bear, soon.” he simply replied, standing up and taking his granddaughter's hand to lead the both of them out of the greenhouse for now.
Chapter 2: Chapter one
Chapter Text
Now we pan back to the mortal world, or rather, to the village of steadfast and indomitable Gauls. Of course they need no introduction, but I shall do it anyway, because it is the beginning of our tale. With their daily lives, there comes their regular routine, or rather in this case, a fish fight. Besides that, life seemed uneventful for our village of steadfast Gauls, of course that is how all stories start so let me get to the point.
"That fish is rottener than a cow carcass!"
"My fish is not rotten! It's your attitude that smells!"
Fulliautomatix and Unhygenix went back and forth and so on and so forth, fish and fists flying all over the place, and the occasional villager joining in on the brawl. Now what of one of our protagonists? Well, as the brawl went on in the meantime, Asterix, one of the bravest Gaulish warriors in the village, had his mind elsewhere. It was often to see him deep in thought, although occasionally he was with his friend Obelix, but today, Obelix was on his usual menhir delivery routes, so this gave Asterix time to think and be in thought. In fact, he couldn't help but feel so.... odd lately... Perhaps it was just after the events of that Big Fight incident, or perhaps it was those odd events involving that Demonix, or maybe even that dream... that dream he hadn't had in a long while, but either way he couldn't stand himself feeling so confused and odd, and he did not like feeling that. As he walked on, he had happened upon Vitalstatistix, who was raised up upon a shield by two Gauls, though he himself was looking rather distressed.
"Good morning, Chief Vitalstatistix, is everything all right?"
"Oh, Asterix, forgive me, I've just had a lot on my mind as of late, especially with this feast of the stars occasion and.... and what else...?"
Vitalstatistix paused, trying to collect himself, at least that was what Asterix thought he was doing. "Oh! Oh yes! and an announcement that I'll make! Oh wait, I almost forgot I need to see Getafix today!"
"Oh, uhm, what sort of announcement would that be, Vitalstatistix?"
"All in due, all in due time, for now i need to pick something up for Impedimenta from Getafix!"
"Is she all right?"
"I cannot tell, but perhaps so... Anyway, I'll see you at the feast, Asterix!"
And with that, Vitalstatistix went off, however his shield bearers went off without him, so he had to run after them. Asterix shrugged at the sight, internally telling himself 'Typical day'. With that, he went into deep thought once more, walking to nowhere particular. When he did stray out of his thoughts, he found himself at Getafix's hut, he figured why not to visit the old druid, so he politely knocked on the half-opened door. "Hello? Getafix, are you there?" He asked, slightly pushing the door gently to look around. "Ah, Asterix, I was wondering if you would come visit!" The old druids familiar and gentle voice called out with a chuckle as he stepped to the door and let him in.
"Yes, I... I figured to stop by you know?"
"I understand, nevertheless, there is much to do, now can you hand me that hollowed bone from the shelf next to you?"
"O-oh! of course!"
Asterix went over to grab the bone, Getafix just stood there before asking,
"Asterix... something tells me there is something that weighs on your mind. More than just the Feast, it seems?"
"O-oh.... you've notice, huh, Getafix...?"
"I am a druid, Asterix, I can sense when something is wrong, and I've known you since you were a child."
Asterix nodded, letting out a sigh before handing the hollowed bone to Getafix. "Getafix, I.... I've been feeling so odd lately, I don't even know why I'm feeling like this." Asterix sat down on a nearby stool as he vented, "I... I've had that feeling.... that.... dream again, ever since that whole Big Fight business and...."
Getafix nodded, "I see, Asterix... That dream, you say. I reckon you hadn't had that once since you were a teenager." "I know, Getafix, but I've had this dream for nights, a-and I don't know what to do!"
"Asterix..."
"I-I know, Getafix... I-"
"Hey Asterix, I was looking for you everywhere."
Obelix had walked in, and by walked in he almost took the doorframe with him, which slightly annoyed Getafix.
"Obelix," Getafix scolded lightly, "Whatever happened to knocking?"
"Sorry Getafix," Obelix apologized sheepishly, "I was just trying to find Asterix."
Asterix couldn't help but chuckle at the scene, momentarily forgetting his troubles. "My dear Obelix, I didnt know you've finished your deliveries so soon!" "Well, it is the Feast of the Stars, everyone has a half day." "Oh you!" Asterix teased lightly, elbowing his friend playfully, which he earned one in return. "all right, all right you two, maybe you should help with preparing, hm?" Getafix chuckled deeply, playfully shooing the two out. Before he closed the door, he looked on as Asterix and Obelix walked together, it brought him back to a simpler time, which made him melancholic and nostalgic. He soon shook himself out of his reminiscing and went back to preparing.
