Work Text:
Mikey knows that this is wrong. Gerard is his brother. He’s not supposed to dream about him or jerk off thinking of him or watch him when he bends over or wear his clothes to feel closer to him or kiss him or love him and certainly not supposed to fuck him.
Gerard is his brother, but what society will never get is that Gerard is Mikey’s other half. So, Mikey doesn’t care that it’s wrong. Not as long as he can have Gerard. Hell, they live in New Jersey. Incest is legal, it might be a taboo topic but it’s not like they’ll get arrested if they kiss in public. Still, Gerard is terrified of judgment, so only their closest friends are aware of their relationship. It’s hard pretending they’re just brothers sometimes, especially at home, as they still live with their parents, but this week their parents are out of town and they finally have the house to themselves.
Mikey’s loving having the house to themselves. He’s been glued to Gerard’s side since their parents left yesterday, only separating for short periods like now. He’s making the only meal he knows how to cook, eggs and toast, while Gerard sleeps down in the basement. The Smiths blast from his walkman while Mikey works on breakfast, allowing Mikey to enjoy the domestic bliss even if his ass aches with every step.
Mikey isn’t aware he’s no longer alone until two arms wrap around his waist, causing him to jump, but the smell tells him quickly that it’s Gerard. He turns and glares at his brother.
“Gee!” Mikey scolds, nudging Gerard. “You scared me.”
Gerard pulls Mikey’s headphones off and presses a kiss to his cheek. “Sorry baby. I just couldn’t help myself.”
Mikey turns back to the stove, relaxing into his brother’s arms. They stay in comfortable silence as Mikey finishes cooking. They don’t often get these moments of domestic bliss, and Mikey wants to milk it for all it’s worth.
As he finishes breakfast, Gerard sets the table. It’s still cluttered and dirty, ashtrays pushed up against plates and cups stacked ontop of each other, but even the nasty environment can’t put a damper on Mikey’s mood.
“I love you,” Mikey says as he sets down their plates.
Gerard presses a soft kiss to Mikey’s lips, their chapped lips a familiar comfort. “I love you too.”
Mikey can’t wait for the day they can live alone and experience this all the time, but until then, he’ll cherish these moments.
