Chapter Text
It was five in the morning when Izuku had woken up to his childish All Might ringtone, at first he had used it as a joke but nowadays, it was really starting to piss him off.
Izuku quickly sat up on his desk and searched for his phone with half-lidded eyes, he held up his phone to his ear, not even bothering to look at the caller ID.
"Hello?" A raspy and rough voice came on the other end.
"Sensei? Why are you calling me at-" He paused to look at the time, "-five in the morning? Is there something wrong? Is there a villain atta-" Aizawa cut him off, "Quit jumping into conclusions, Problem Child. I was just wondering if you could help me grade half of class 1-B's papers? They're due this week and I'm quite busy these days."
Izuku groaned. He really, really wanted to say no-"Oh yeah sure! Uhm, just stack them on my desk in the staff room and I'll be done in no time." Izuku wanted to curl up into a ball and die, just when will he ever stop saying yes to everything?
"Okay, thank you." beep. Izuku put the phone down on his desk and yawned while stretching, wait why was he still in his work suit? Whatever, he internally screamed when he sniffed himself and realised he absolutely reeked, disgusting.
He didn't waste a second before stripping and heading to the bathroom. He took a quick shower, wore his suit and topped it off with his Dynamight special tie.
Soon enough, Izuku was walking to the train station with his briefcase cupped around his hand, he silently thanked All Might for their apartment being close to the station.
Later, he was sitting at his desk during recess while grading papers and all he could think about was if he couldn't finish marking his own students papers, how would he even begin Aizawa's? No, focus Izuku. You can do it, you fought in a literal war and you can't manage to finish grading papers? What a lame thing, to be honest. You have to finish these by today so you can have free time with Kacchan on the weeken-
"Midoriya sensei!" Izuku was interrupted in his mumbling session by Kota, "Ah, yes, Kota?" and just within a second Kota was asking him millions of questions.
"Do you know which questions are gonna come in the next chemistry exam?" Before Izuku could even respond to that question, he spoke further.
"And do you mind teaching me the seventh chapter of our physics book? I-" Izuku rubbed his hand on his forehead. "Kota-" "-get really confused when i try to understand it. better yet-" "Listen," "-when's the next time you have time to train with me? Oh! And also-"
"Kota!"
The student was silenced when Izuku put his palm on his mouth. "First, I cannot tell you what's going to be coming in the exam and what's not. Second, I'll revise the seventh chapter in our next class,"
The freckled man thought about his answer for the training, eventually making up his mind and replying honestly. "Third... I would want to train right now but I have to grade papers, so maybe you can ask one of your classmates, sound good?"
Kota got Izuku's hand off his mouth and spoke, "Aw man, we can't train together." he mumbled before speaking again. "Oh well... anyway, thank you so much!" Izuku felt a small bubble of guilt in his body, but he really didn't have the time to do that.
"No problem, anything else you want?" Kota put his hand on his chin, probably thinking deeply. "No, not at all! Okay now I have to meet up with Eri and I can't be late so see 'ya!" He was already out the door before Izuku could say anything back.
He smiled, he was glad that the two got along with eachother. They kind of reminded him of himself and Katsuki when they were in high-school.
Before he could ponder any longer, he sighed and went back to the reality of grading the papers as fast as he could.
After many minutes, Izuku was done with his grading and decided he could go out to get some fresh air, which he really needed. When he finally reached on the rooftop, the freckled man took out the bento Katsuki had prepared for him and started eating.
Speaking of, it was genuinely amazing how Katsuki would never leave Izuku with an empty stomach, no matter how busy he was. He always took care of Izuku and never let him do any work, Izuku really missed having time to spend with his husband.
He hadn't seen Katsuki for a whole week and the last time he saw him, it was only when he was leaving for work while Izuku just came back from his teacher duty at school.
Izuku was snapped back into reality when his All Might themed ringtone started ringing, God, he really hated his ringtone. He carelessly took his phone out and saw who it was, his phone read 'Uraraka! 💓'. Izuku accepted the call and held it on his ear once again as her voice filled his ears.
"Hey! How have you been?" Izuku tried his best to not show any hint of exhaustion. "Not bad! I just finished grading papers, what're you up to?" She groaned, hinting her tiredness.
"Oh nothing much, just busy with hero work and patrol. I can't even hang out with 'Miko these days! Wait, can we meet up after work?" Her voice sparked with hope, causing him to feel bad before even answering.
He thought about it for awhile, but he knew what his reply would be. "Yeah, no sorry, Uraraka. I've been busy ever since exams have started." Izuku could hear her sigh on the other end.
It wasn't like he actually didn't want to hang out, he really did! But it just wasn't possible with the current stack of papers on his desk.
"Oh okay, well maybe next time?" She said, still showing her hope for next time.
"Yup, next time it is. Also sorry again!" He was glad she didn't force him like she usually did, she even sounded a little tired.
He heard someone talking in the background through the line. "It's okay, we all get busy sometimes!" Hearing her voice just made him feel bad.
"Yeah, I'm still sorry though. I really wanted to!" He tried his best to show that he wanted to too, as he listened to her chuckle on the other side.
Once she stopped, she sighed and spoke. "It's totally okay, don't worry!"
After a moment, he heard shuffling and then her voice came back on the line, "Uhm, Izuku, I'm gonna have to hang up! Hero emergency."
He instantly understood and sputtered out a quick "Okay!" before she hung up.
Izuku sighed, he really didn't have the energy to teach, but he also knew he couldn't skip so he eventually got up to head to his class.
He inserted his keys and got into his apartment, Izuku wasn't expecting anyone at this time. It was 04:35 p.m. and Katsuki's shift ended at eight p.m. sharp, Izuku changed into his Hero Deku pyjamas and sat back on his desk to start grading Aizawa's papers.
He was slightly shocked by how almost all of class 1-B's students wrote answers following the rote method, while class 1-A's students mostly answered with the conceptual method. Both are great though, he thought to himself.
A few hours later, he was done with all of his papers, Aizawa's papers, and he could finally relax. He got up from his desk–bones cracking while doing so, he wasn't even that old.
Izuku went to the kitchen to drink some water. As he poured it into the cup and chugged it down in a second he noticed how dry his mouth was and how much it hurt to swallow his own saliva.
It was eerily quiet, a type of quiet he was oddly used to by now. Izuku decided that he could use a nap to gain some energy for the next day, more like the next disaster.
He quickly went to flop on the sofa, sprawled out like a cat. Sleep eventually took over him as he fell deep asleep.
"Izuku?" He opened his eyes to see his husband standing infront of him, one of his scarred and rough hands gently cupping Izuku's cheek, his fingers circling over Izuku's freckles.
He was wearing his usual black tank top and grey sweatpants. Wait, why was Katsuki here? "Kacchan, why are you here?" Izuku felt like he was dreaming.
His husband's ruby eyes shimmered like burning flames in the light of the sun coming from the one-way window, his choppy bangs covering half of his forehead, "My shift ended, sorry I came home late. Kirishima had to show me something." he leant in and Izuku could see a clear front view of Katsuki's lethal face.
"It's okay, Kacchan," Izuku had to look away to not get lost in his eyes, "H-how was your day?" he managed to stammer out while staring back at him, Katsuki suddenly leant back and shoved his hands in his pockets.
As much as Izuku was relieved, deep down he wanted that to continue and see where it led to. "Hm, not bad I guess. I stopped a robbery, rescued some people from a villain attack, and a kid from tripping off a ten story building."
Izuku was shocked at that, "That's amazing Kacchan! How'd you save the kid?" Katsuki brushed Izuku's hair to the side.
"She fell whilst I was fighting against the villain, caught her when she was in the air." Izuku gaped his mouth, amazed by his heroism.
"That's so cool!" Katsuki's facial expression suddenly shifted as he looked like he remembered something.
"Eh, I gotta go to the kitchen, dinners ready by the way." He smirked and leaned in once again. Izuku felt like he was about to explode any minute.
Just as Katsuki leant in even more to finally kiss him, Izuku woke up.
What the heck? Izuku was indeed dreaming, he lazily got up and checked his phone to look at the time; it was 06:00 a.m.. Wait, did he sleep for thirteen hours? Well whatever, it was good for his health plus it was the most sleep he'd ever gotten since the past few weeks.
Izuku got ready and gently arranged Aizawa's papers before tucking them somewhere in his briefcase, he put his shoes on and walked to the train station.
It was the middle of october so it was almost time for winter season hence it would obviously be more chilly than usual. But of course, Izuku would forget his scarf at home and remember that he had to bring it when he was already out and halfway there.
He sighed, they probably had extras in the teacher's lounge anyway.
Izuku reached the school without any hassle and went straight into his classroom, surprisingly most of the students were already sat on their desks, talking. He hushed the students and started explaining the contents of their physics chapters for the next exam.
At the end of the last period, Izuku thought he was forgetting something. Oh right, Aizawa's papers.
He had no choice but to ask a student to quickly deliver the papers to him since he was too tired to run, so Izuku called out.
"Eri! Come here please." She walked up to him and stopped when they were at arms length.
"Yes, Sensei?" Eri asked, still recovering from the laugh she was suffering from a couple seconds ago.
Izuku pulled out his case from below and placed it on his desk. "Could you please give these papers to Aizawa?"
Izuku got slightly embarrassed while fumbling with his briefcase's zipper, eventually zipping it open and handing the papers to Eri. "Sure! Do you know where he might be?"
She took the papers from Izuku, subconsciously arranging them again. "Hm. Maybe in the staff room, class 1-B or if not there then just place them on his desk in the staff room."
"Oh okay!" She smiled brightly, already making her way to the door.
"Thank you so much, Eri!" Izuku couldn't help but smile back at her.
She bowed in respect, walking out with a smile still put on her face. "You're welcome, Sensei!"
He was once again in his apartment. It was finally Friday, meaning he might be able to spend time with his husband.
Izuku had finished all his school work and chores, he had worn his All Might pajamas since all the Dynamight ones were in the laundry. He flopped on the couch and turned on the TV, it was 06:30 p.m..
Katsuki's shift doesn't end for another three hours, so he had a lot of time to do stuff since he had to wait for his husband to arrive.
Their cat jumped on his stomach, his hand automatically going to pet her and murmur sweet sayings.
Several hours had passed by like that, by now it was 09:00 p.m..
Izuku carefully got up not wanting to wake Mini Might up, he headed to the bedroom and picked his phone up from his desk. He went back to the living room, turned the TV off and sat on the floor beside the couch while scrolling on Twitter.
There was news about some villain attack where Hero Uravity and Hero Red Riot were chosen to fight against it since their quirks were useful for the civilians around them.
It was a twenty-one story building which collapsed onto Hero Dynamight during the fight with a villain and Hero Dynamight. The cause was that the villain had a super strength quirk and had apparently pushed the building onto Hero Dynamight. Wait, Hero Dynamight?! Fuck, his husband could be injured.
Izuku was surprised he didn't notice it in the first line, he swore he needed sleep.
He threw his phone down, sprinting to the bedroom's closet and quickly pulling out the suit Katsuki had gifted him.
The freckled man knew how to use it since he had trained with it for a long time, plus he usually went out to patrol with his lover along with the others. Izuku was still putting the suit on when his phone started ringing.
He ran to his phone while zipping his suit up and it was confusingly an unknown number. He still picked up hoping it was the one important call he wanted and it was, "Hello? Is this Izuku Bakugou?" the woman's deep voice slightly echoed.
"Yeah, is Ka-Dynamight okay?!" Was all he could yelp out as he rushed to turn off all the lights and lock the doors.
"Yes, he is currently under supervision. This is Musutufa Hospital and you're Hero Dynamight's emergency contact so you may come see him since he has gotten injured. We cannot tell you a lot of details right now, but he is asking for you, sir."
"I'm on my way." Izuku didn't waste a second before hanging up as he sprinted out the window and used Blackwhip to see his injured husband, soon enough he had reached the hospital.
The receptionist was already looking at him as if he was waiting for him to arrive, "You must be Izuku Bakugou, Dynamight's room number is one-hundred one."
Izuku internally thanked All Might for the receptionist telling him the direct thing instead of chit-chatting. "Thank you." And he was off speed walking to Katsuki's hospital room.
When Izuku finally reached the room, he turned the doorknob and went in. Surprisingly, Kirishima and Kaminari were already by his left side all over Katsuki.
Katsuki pushed them off as they all turned to him, "Hi." was the first thing Katsuki had said to him in a week, he smiled like he didn't just have a building collapse on him.
His body was filled with tubes, a cast on his right leg and one on his arm, a lot of stitches on his shoulders too. "Hi, are you okay?" Izuku's voice was filled with concern but he couldn't care less, he needed to know if his husband was actually feeling okay.
Kaminari and Kirishima went back to gossiping about something he couldn't seem to understand, it's not like he wanted to anyway. "Of course 'm fine, I defeated that villain." Even when Katsuki was like this, his pride level never decreased.
Izuku went up to him on his right side. "No, like how are you feeling?" He couldn't stop looking away from his husband's gorgeous face, it had been so long since they'd talked to eachother.
"Oh, I'm still feeling kinda hazy but I'm okay." Katsuki's voice was raspy and his throat was definitely dry.
"Okay, do you want water?" Katsuki did try to refuse but it was no use, Izuku had made him drink it whether he liked it or not.
"Hey man, how've you been?" Kirishima spoke up brightly, lightening the mood.
Izuku put the cup back as he sat in the stool next to Katsuki's bed. "I'm good! How about you? You were responsible for handling the villain attack, right?"
"I'm doing great! Yeah I was, I did get some scratches while taking some of the people out with Uravity, although it's all good now!" Eijirou stated.
"So, how did you guys save Kacchan?" Both of their faces turned into something surprised, so he turned to Katsuki for some sort of answer, who glanced at him and looked away.
"Dude." Kaminari said, looking at him like he didn't get it.
He stared back, "What?" Izuku was genuinely so confused.
"Haven't you checked the news?" Kaminari asked.
Izuku sighed before explaining, "Oh well I was, but I got called to come here while reading so I couldn't get the chance to read the whole thing." they nodded in understanding.
"Well, uh- Bakubro basically held the whole building up while we took the civilians out, and that took I think an hour or two?" The redhead spoke with gestures and concentration.
"It was a really long process since many of the people got stuck under or in the building, and in the end he got out by himself. The villain was taken down by him, Jirou, and Shouto." Kirishima explained. Izuku looked at Katsuki, who was not making eye contact at all.
He was surprised, well it was kind of obvious as he didn't read the news fully, and sprinted out mid-reading instead. "Kacchan? You did that?"
Katsuki finally looked back at him, his ears were flushed red and he almost looked guilty, Izuku couldn't tell. He cleared his throat before barely speaking. "Yeah, it isn't that big of a deal." He looked down at his hands and continued when he didn't respond, "...Why?." he murmured.
Izuku snapped out of his thoughts, his mouth moving quicker than his mind.
"Kacchan, that's amazing! I can't believe you actually did such a great thing, well I do because y'know, it's literally you."
And although this was kind of dangerous as well as very risky, I'm still glad you're doing okay." He rambled.
His voice was dripping in amazement as he spoke, earning certain looks from all of them. "Also don't apologise! It was really heroic of you, Kacchan. I really admire how you somehow do these things on your own, it's always so cool!"
But you should've taken help from Cellophane so he could stick his tape around the building and hold it up with the help of Uravity and maybe Red Riot too-" He could sense the stares of Kirishima and Kaminari.
He heard Katsuki's chuckle interrupt him, "Calm down, 'Zuku." when Izuku looked up, he could see that his husband was clearly flustered by the not-really compliments he was given.
Izuku scooted closer to his bed, hovering his hand over his husband's before gently intertwining their fingers together. "It's true though." He grinned.
"Yeah yeah." Katsuki rolled his eyes. Izuku possibly couldn't look away from his husband's ruby irises, he genuinely could not believe that he was his, Katsuki was his.
"Bro, you guys are so gay." Kaminari intervened in their moment as Katsuki instantly looked away to glare at him while spewing something Izuku couldn't comprehend. He was too busy staring at his husband, mesmerised by how ethereal he was.
The door was swung open as someone familiar entered the room, Mitsuki.
"You brat! Atleast ask for help if you know you're fucking struggling!" She walked to Katsuki on the right side and slapped him lightly.
"Hello to you too." He grumbled, Mitsuki turned towards Izuku and wrapped an arm around him.
"Oh, Izuku! We haven't met up in so long, how have you been?" She left his son's side and sat on the edge of Katsuki's bed.
"I'm great, auntie! Just super busy with work, sorry we couldn't visit." Katsuki rolled his eyes and scoffed, earning the attention of both of them.
"Oh please, quit apologising for shit like this. She could've visited us too."
She tried to act shocked, "The audacity! How dare you?!" she was about to give him an hour-long lecture him when Izuku changed the topic.
"Uh- Anyway, have you been hanging out with mom?" Her attention went back to Izuku, "Oh yes, we talk everyday! I offered her a ride here but she said she would visit tomorrow with an Uber 'cause she's busy with work today." Mitsuki complained.
"Hm, so when will she be arriving?" Katsuki asked.
"Since when did you care about inko visiting or not?!" Katsuki slightly winced at the loudness of his mother. "Jeez, forgive me for asking." He yawned, indicating he got tired so Izuku quickly gestured for her to go, which she got and nodded.
The blond's mother sighed, "Ah, well I have some stuff to do so I'll be leaving." she made up an excuse as she got up and made her way to the door.
Mitsuki stopped at the front of the closed door, turning around to come and give them forehead kisses. "Take care of yourselves, okay?"
They nodded, a smile lighting up on both of their faces.
After she had left, Izuku stayed with Katsuki overnight even after Katsuki had told him to go home, he insisted on staying.
It was the least he could do, so now he was in the same spot scooted closer staring at a sleeping Katsuki. He's so peaceful when he sleeps, Izuku swept his husband's bangs that were covering his eyes.
He was truly a lucky man to have a husband like him, beautiful looks and personality both.
He glanced at the clock, it was 03:02 a.m. now. Izuku yawned and rested his head on Katsuki's uninjured shoulder, "Mm'ya 'wake?" Katsuki mumbled while shifting closer to Izuku.
"Yeah, shh. Just go back to sleep, Kacchan." The freckled man smiled, his husband could be really cute sometimes. Before he knew it, both of them were dozed off in eachother's warmth.
