_________
Shishikura and Hirose were both inside of the sterile room, the place organized from Hirose's determination to make it be a stable environment. Shishikura was asked to come into the medbay to fill out a form related to their medications.
So now the silver eyes teen was sitting on a bed, filling out a form that Hirose made and put on a clipboard. There wasn't a printer, nor any form of template to print. So the paper's contents was handwritten.
The surgeon's hand writing was clear, rivaling the printer's possible outcome. Despite popular belief of doctors having the messiest hand writing known to man... Luckily Hirose didn't follow along. For the better, Shishikura couldn't read that type of hand writing even if he tilted his damn head and squinted.
While the Yukigassen player wrote down responses to the form, occasionally fabricating the truth, Hirose was sitting at a desk that had the medical books he'd been reading over.
Yet he kept his hands under the desk, holding his knees while staying still for the main part. He would occasionally glance over to the older boy filling out the form.
Ever since one of the assumed bleeding had the task of robbing everyone's closets (and doing so successfully) Hirose had been stuck in his pajamas.
It wasn't that big of a deal, sure he would prefer to look more professional, yet something really bugged him.
In the 16 year old's usual attire, he wore a long white coat over his clothes, a coat that covered his arms. Yet in the pajamas he was provided were short sleeved.
Something Hirose hated to admit, was that he had a rather serious issue when he was younger. He felt like nothing was worth it, nobody would care.
Deep scars on each wrist, right on a vein that was slightly visible on both arms. He hated it. He hated the fact it remained even after he found a reason to live.
He knew it wouldn't go away, but it still hurt knowing he would be stuck with the reminder for god knows how long.
It hurt even more knowing he couldn't hide it without his coat. Not even getting started on how the storage room was locked, so he couldn't even grab a spare if there was even one in there.
Shishikura finished up the form and noticed the dazed expression on Hirose's face. He tilted his head slightly, not knowing exactly how to respond.
Shishikura ; "... Hirose..? Uhm... I'm finished.."
He meekly spoke, not wanting to startle the surgeon. It didn't matter since Hirose jolted anyways.
Hirose ; "Ah, right. Thank you, again, Shishikura."
Hirose scrambled to fix his startled face and got up to go take the form from the anxiety ridden boy. He took the clipboard and started reading over the words that the other had written.
A silence overtook the room, with the exception of the sound of buzzing from the bright, fluorescent lights. Shishikura shifted slightly before breaking the atmosphere.
Shishikura ; "Are you alright, Hirose? I don't mean to come off rude but... You're kinda weird right now.."
The light haired boy questioned, a slight, nearly unnoticeable lisp due to his braces. Hirose paused in his reading, he should be able to just say he's fine and get away with it, right?
Hirose ; "Don't fret, Shishikura. I'm fine."
Shishikura ; "... Please.."
Hirose felt a sort of... Shift in his chest, he didn't like it, and stayed silent while trying to comprehend it.
Hirose ; "It's nothing. Truly. Just a bit uncomfortable being in such unprofessional attire while not in my place of residence."
Shishikura didn't believe that for a second. The older out of the two in the room knew that was a truth of sorts. But he couldn't help but scan over Hirose's appearance.
His face, torso, legs, arms—
He spotted the issue. The noticeably darker line that wasn't just some form of skin folding together. He knew what that looked like from his own body.
Shishikura ; "... Uhm.. When I was younger my ma called my scars memory marks..!"
Hirose ; "... Really? Huh."
Shishikura had just blurted the fact out, the memory being vivid when his mom noticed the scars building up on his body. He remembered feeling more comfortable with them after that.
Shishikura ; "Mhm! Er.. She usually said how they each hold a memory, even if you don't remember it yourself."
Hirose wished he couldn't remember the reason behind his scars, but he looked up fully from the paper, looking at the shorter boy.
Hirose ; "Why's this being brought up?"
...
Hirose ; "Shishikura?"
Shishikura ; "I saw them, Hirose. I'm sorry I just REALLY thought that was the reason why you were so weird and-!"
Hirose ; "Shishikura, it's fine. Just breathe."
Honestly Hirose was getting panicked himself from the abnormal pattern of breathing. Yet he sucked it up, he's seen and heard worse.
Shishikura followed the instructions, breathing quietly. In... Out... In... Out... In...
Hirose ; ".. You're not wrong. It's just... It feels like it's so noticable. Like you guys will think I'm unstable or something-"
That had Shishikura pause, looking up for a moment before speaking quietly, hesitating.
Shishikura ; "Like my ma said, each mark holds memories. It's kinda like a way of your body saying that you got a story behind you! ... Sorry."
Hirose looked at Shishikura in slight awe, god this sounded cheesy but Hirose didn't care. He carefully put down the clipboard and sat down next to Shishikura who shrunk back slightly.
Hirose ; "It's fine, I'm glad you are able to speak to me about this. And it feels heart warming in a way."
The surgeon spoke, a soft smile taking his face as he fixed his glasses.
Hirose ; "Maybe I'll try thinking about it like that too. Memory marks?"
Shishikura; "... Y-yeah!"
Hirose ; "Hm. That's interesting... And Shishikura?"
Shishikura ; "Yeeahhh.??"
Hirose ; "I appreciate it, really. Thank you,"
Shishikura ; "Ah—No problem!"
Shishikura chirped put in response, smiling at the surgeon with his brace covered teeth. Hirose returned the smile but kept his mouth closed.
and they lived happily ever after the end!!!
