Chapter Text

Heartbeats , that’s the first thing Adam remembered hearing when his feet touched the soft grass. Heartbeats. Yet he didn’t know that was the word for them at first.

Adam ,” a soft voice spoke to him. He didn’t know where it was coming from. “ Your name is Adam.

“Who speaks?” Adam looked everywhere he could. Turning and turning, no one was there. The foliage of the surrounding areas emerged him in beauty.

I am your God ,” the voice speaks. God? “ Your creator, Adam, you're my creation .” The voice answered, like it knew his bending question.

Adam turns around once more, “how come I cannot see you?”

My form,” God says. Is too powerful to show you.

“Oh,” Adam whispers. Adam gazes upon a yellow ball of fire in the blue surrounding. It felt warm, comforting to him. “What’s that?”

The sun my son, ” God replied.

Days would pass, the sun would come and go. Night would come, and then the night would go. Each day it would stay for hours and then leave. Adam played with the animals of Eden, naming each one as he went. Then one night while Adam slept someone entered Eden. He stirred awake as he heard a twig snap and then some shuffling.

“I can’t believe Michael dared me to do this-“ the voice stopped once the creature belonging to it made eye contact with Adam. He was beautiful, Adam thought, absolutely stunningly beautiful. “Um fear not?”

“Who are you?” Adam hugged his knees as he stared up at the beautiful creature before him. The creature looked human, given the little knowledge Adam had on what a human looked like based on his reflection in the pond, yet something was off about this human. So creature seemed more fitting for Adam to call this that. “What are you?” He didn’t want to be rude as he asked this, reaching out to the creature.

The beautiful creature of white, red, and gold quickly its face because something on its head, its face lighting up like the sun that God once mentioned. “Oh my father you are naked!”

“Naked?” Adam stands and reaches out for the creature. “What’s naked?”

“You! You’re naked!” The creature doesn’t answer his question in the way he meant it.

Adam chuckles, lightly touching the creature’s arm. “No, what does naked mean?”

“Oh,” the creature squeaks out. It reminded Adam of the mice he met a few days before. “Naked means you are not wearing clothes…”

“What’s clothes?” Adam tilts his head to the side and the creature takes the thing on top of his head off and it surprises him. He thought it was part of the creature’s head.

“These,” the creature motions to the colors on his body that seemed to be apart of something else. “These are clothes…”

“Oh,” Adam slowly nods. “Who… what are you?”

“I’m an angel… a creature of my father, your God. I’m neither man nor being beside angelic,” Angel replied. “My name is Lucifer.”

“I’m Adam.”

“Adam,” Lucifer whispers and it almost made Adam’s heart melt. “First man Adam, has a nice ring to it.” The angel hums.
